ThoughtlessStarting again, at the basics it would seem as though that was always the easiest route to keep with seeing as everyone seemed to get meshed up with the confusing little intricacies of life eventually making things harder than need be. For One Jayr was Captain, not of the school mind you but a smaller sect much more akin to the Cheer squad, she had a small group of friends some more questionable than others. To add to the easier things there had to be an even balance of chaos, for that matter she seemed to have something of a stalker. Kazuya, one of the pillars who was getting on her nerves was pressing for her patience but then again she could handle such things if that was all she had to deal with. As for the other's she'd met a few stuck out if only briefly.
There was Kevala, practically the school queen, a certain rivalry bubbling up if only briefly to confront the girl in some show of bettering her. There was Jack, who wasn't all that bad considering they'd only met on one or two occasions and perhaps that was best seeing as how he dealt with all things in the same way. There was Phoenix, strange boy attacking her with a soda. Guy, obviously a pervert but was cute and helping out Astrid, speaking of that girl a necessary intervention would have to be in order soon. Then there was Donnie, a bit of a horn dog but he was nice. That was about it so far. However things needed to progress as all things do and Jayr was always that ambitious sort.
Marching across campus in her holy jeans and tube top she'd show an even smile trying not to be overly giddy yet arrive here friendly. Lunch had just ended and she had a free period for the time being so she made her way towards the outer courtyard where she'd bumped into a few people from before and perhaps would bump into Dylan. Then again not all things went as planned.
In fact today would prove as such seeing as she'd bump into a mysterious tall figure. With a snatch to her breath and cerulean eyes peering up his frame quizzically she'd make note that the guy was at least 6'4" and had muscles that were about as wide as her waist. A pensive and shirking figure would heave as he turned about veins at the node of his neck peevishly irritated by her interruption. While Afraid she was not the man's appearance showed that of fury incarnate, something worrisome at a place such as this.

School had become a tad bit quieter, Cain could tell. With four pillars now, compared to his time when he had been the only one for most of his reign, it seemed that order had become an easier state to uphold in the hallways of one like #774. In a way, Cain felt a whole lot lighter when walking around the school. He had less things to worry about and could now simply look for his own interests instead of always taking care of the student body's. Yes, at that moment, the Junior could challenge as many as he accepted challenges. There was no limit now to how much fights he could have at school. At least, to his own limit.
He did promise to help Kevala around, after all.
Of course, Cain realised that he had no hold to do so. He was only doing so out of respect for the female. Kevala was a well-enough fighter, one of the few that had brought Cain challenge indeed. And besides, he probably owed her a favour for taking care of Zen. And that brought up another lift of a burden too. With Zen being safe at home, Cain did not have to worry about her getting bullied by the men in the school, especially not in her state now.
His Nike kicks made soft taps on the floor as he paced through the hallways, his right thumb stroking the tiger-shaped ring on his right index finger and his left hand holding onto the bag strap slung over his left shoulder, pinning his plain white shirt against his body, his blue denim jeans making the slightest of adjustments with every step he took. Then, as he turned right into another hallway, Cain found himself glancing at a familiar face. Was that... Brent? And hey, what a surprise, he was staring down another female.
Cain shook his head. Same old Brent, alright.
At that, Cain took a few steps forward, making himself visible to Brent, as the large male raised his view from the shorter female in front of him and up to the ex-School Captain, that expression of fury being replaced immediately with worry. You see, Cain and Brent had a little bit of history here. Brent had a habit of picking on smaller guys and girls. And Cain had an even bigger habit of picking on him. There was that little relationship between them. Brent would take a step back, Cain revealing soft grin of amusement, before simply walking forward and past them, giving Brent a glance, as if telling him that he was watching him.
Of course, even bullies have their limits.
"I've got enough of your shit, Cain!"
And he would grab Cain's bag, pulling him off his feet and against the lockers, the Junior not expecting such an outburst from the larger male. Recovering from the smash, Cain raised his eyes, only to see Brent's left fist aiming down on his face. And just as it was going down, Cain would snap his right fist up, smashing it upon the underside of Brent's left arm, throwing off his arm and causing him to punch the metallic locker instead. Brent let go of Cain then, staggering back as he clutched at his left hand, the fist having cut open by the hinges of the locker.
"Is that so?"

Just little ol' me
Jayr would peer up at the guy slenderly arching her neck with an amused smile, she felt that regardless her foe she could indeed match up against them even on a decent level that was however she'd at the very least attempt to come off as nice and perhaps avoid the boy's certain dismemberment. But soon enough he'd begin to retreat if even for a moment with the approach of another behind her. Muscles tensing up though not noticeably she'd prepare to deal with someone more pressing. "I've got enough of your shit, Cain!"
Cain?
No the name didn't ring much of a bell considering she was relatively new here there were a few faces that simply didn't stick out in her mind. though the big boy's reaction did send enough of a signal for her to easily find out just what their relationship was. A brief shocked expression would stall for the moment that Cain made his attack. Jayr would quickly make sure that she was in a position to cripple the boy with little effort. Shifting to the side so the tumbling giant wouldn't crush her Jayr would lift her left leg up and fire a stern kick into the backside of his kneecap thus breaking it when the force from Cain's push would send the giant tumbling onto his ass.
Through pursed lips Jayr would simply stare back at the boy, her arms crossed over her chest in a fiery expression she'd make it a point that she could have dealt with this herself.

Cain expected Brent to come at him again, but no. Instead, the large man would suddenly fall backwards, both his hands, even the bleeding one, clutching at his knee as he yelped in pain. Cain raised an eyebrow, before allowing his eyes to come to the obvious culprit. It was the woman from earlier, the one Brent was trying to hit on. That was one hell of a kick. Cain glanced back down at Brent once more, who had rolled away from Jayr, cursing her as he glared towards her. Cain could only chuckle as he raised his hands, adjusting his attire, the little impact from earlier messing it up a bit.
It was then did he notice Jayr's glare towards him, causing him to raise an eyebrow a bit. What was that for? Cain let it drag for a moment, before realising what it meant. Cain sighed, looking down for a moment, giving a mental shrug as he raised his right hand, coughing into it for a moment, clearing his throat, before pointing towards the still-downed Brent, giving a soft awkward smile.
"You know... He attacked me first."
His right hand would then shift to the back of his head, scratching it as he widened that smile just a bit more. He was not here to look for trouble with her, after all. He was simply walking by. At least that was the message that he was trying to pass to everyone else around him. For truthfully, he was deliberately walking past Brent to remind him that Kevala was not the only one who could kick his ass around anymore.
"But you're welcome anyway."
Cain lowered his hand.

The two way street
Her focused little glare was less directed at him because of the fact that he was fighting or even defending himself it spread more from the fact that Jayr felt that since she'd been at this school she had found that she was being babied, the entire male populous had a way of belittling the women here and she found it annoying. No she was not a feminist rights activist or anything but was it so much to ask for a little bit of common courtesy.
"You know... He attacked me first."
Her lips would purse sharply noting his defiance, the way he stood with an eager smile all to normal. She wasn't the trusting type and despite the fact that he was trying to get off on a good start he'd began with a simply mistake and that was not obliging to let Jayr succeed or fail of her own prowess.
"But you're welcome anyway."
"I'm welcome? I could have handled him easily enough or did you miss the part where he's not getting up again." Jayr fumed quickly oblivious to the fact that the boy she'd crippled was still lying there on the ground inches from her expecting a bit of a reaction from him although ignoring it just the same.
With a small 'hmph' Jayr would turn quickly on her heel making a point to cross right in front of Cain and toss her hair quickly and continue on, should he follow or not it wasn't her concern any longer she was sure she could go find another willing companion to make the same blunders or not all the same.

"I'm welcome? I could have handled him easily enough or did you miss the part where he's not getting up again."
"Ah, no, I didn't miss that part. Good job on that, by the way. He's been troubling me for months."
Cain gave a soft nod, obviously not really bothered by the fact that she was trying to instill her pride as an independent woman here. Of course, he was now aware of it. She had made it obvious enough for even the blind to see. Cain was going to let some of it come off, of course. He was not going to completely try and close her down. He was just trying to lighten the mood here, after all. There was no need to get egos involved here.
Then again, perhaps Cain was trying to instill his own ego here too.
Though, Cain figured then that he was probably pushing it a little too much here. And it was made obvious when Jayr turned around, walking away from Brent and past him. And she flicked her hair towards him too. A clear sign of resentment. Ah, hell. Cain just succeeded in pissing off another girl. He sighed, his shoulders drooping as he looked over at Brent.
"Ah, hell. Someone take him to the infirmary."
With that, Cain would turn on his heels and pace after Jayr, an arm raised towards her, as if gesturing for her to wait.
"Hey, hey, wait. Uhm, I never got your name."

Practice makes perfect.
And so the statement was more so true when she tromped off only to hear the clamor of the boy she'd left behind calling out for just a moment of acknowledgement. A smooth grin formed into her cheeks while her back remained towards him taking a moment and a few more even steps before she'd turn on her heel about coming upright and with piercing cerulean hues staring down at him, more so eye to eye comparing their heights.
"What?" A bit of attitude thrust into the voice not to waver or break him but just a twinge as though intending to remain harsh despite not having her full heart in it.
"Uhm, I never got your name."
A brow would rise curiously taking the preusual search over his body, Definitely attractive to say the least but upon first glance he was someone who got down on himself easily. She'd remain there a second too long pursing her lips in a deep frame of thought before retracting her glance and focusing eye to eye evenly.
"Why do you want to know?" Jayr would retort back quickly noticing that she'd given him no reason to request a name. All she'd done is pulled a simplistic fighting move that'd toppled a foe wasn't that some huge thing about this school fighting? So how was one girl fighting her out of the norm.

And she would soon stop, much to Cain's fortune. He did not want to have to chase her all the way around school. Not like he would anyway, but the thought actually occurred to him at that moment. He would then take a deep breathe as he too stopped, standing then at just above arm's length from her. And then, she would shoot at her, just before he asked his question. Well, it was kinda obvious that Cain had somewhat annoyed her. How much, though, Cain was unsure yet. Cause if she really was truly annoyed, she would not have stopped under his request.
Either that, or she really was different from the other girls that usually roamed these hallways. The plastics and the cheerleaders and the kind. Those who usually needed other girls to protect them. Tough girls were pretty rare to come by. Zen was one, though Cain had seen the vulnerable side of her. Kevala was another, someone who had really brought the challenge of combat to Cain. And then, there was this girl in front of him, who had taken down one of the football blitzers in just one kick. A well-placed kick at that.
"Why do you want to know?"
Cain allowed himself a soft smile then as he raised his right hand, pointing over his shoulder at the direction of Brent, who had already been helped up by one of of his football teammates.
"Well, for one, I wanna know who to thank for helping me back there."
And then, dropping his hand, he would give a slightly wider grin.
"And besides, why not?"

Why not?
"Well, for one, I wanna know who to thank for helping me back there."
With her body angled towards him slightly Jayr would lean in on her hip and sway gingerly on her side pursing her lips further trying to examine him. To a degree it was fairly rude of her to do but it was a precautionary factor, better to be safe and protect oneself rather than suffer the pain of letting someone in to close that was always too much to bear.
"And besides, why not?"
Biting her lip gently she'd sway for a moment before stepping back up into the fray with a mix of a dominant and yet shy expression trying to come off somewhere in the middle with the conflicting sides.
"Jayr... and I'll have to find myself a better reason one of these days."
A short giggle as she'd rolled forward and back on her leading foot finding that she'd begin placing herself to and fro closer and further away unsure of which to weigh on and choose.
"So tough guy, roam the halls beating up innocents often?" Again she'd giggle lightly as the voice had been projected in the way many a pick up line would be,

"Jayr... and I'll have to find myself a better reason one of these days."
Wow, it actually worked. Cain chuckled softly to himself, knowing that he had, at least, said the right things back then. He let out a small smile, giving a nod of acknowledgment. Jayr, huh? That's not a name you hear everyday. It made Cain wonder what her ethnicity was. It did not seem like she was totally an American. Cain himself was not fully American, his mother hailing from England. And she would giggle, Cain feeling a tad bit more relieved, knowing that the air from earlier had been cleared out, even if by a bit.
"Jayr, huh? Nice to meet you then. Name's Cain, though you might have figured that out already."
Cain chuckled, looking over his shoulder a bit, towards the direction of where Jayr had taken Brent down. For a brief moment, Cain felt a tinge of excitement. Although it was a vital spot, that had still be quite a good kick. Hell, it handicapped Brent in one hit. It made Cain wonder just how well a fighter she actually was. The only woman that Cain had fought against was Kevala, and boy, she had been one tough opponent.
"So tough guy, roam the halls beating up innocents often?"
Cain chuckled, shaking his head as he once more scratched the back of his head, a habit that he had developed to express awkwardness and anything close to that.
"Eh, not really. The innocent tend to be boring, so I don't really bother. And you? Bump into larger guys often?"
He gave a teasing smirk, then.

This and That... Jayr would smile innocently enough, a tint of white showing from her teeth out from behind her lips if even slightly. A mild sway to her side as her hands looped behind her back, fingers would coil together slowly keeping themselves twiddling together in a shyly expressed reaction even though she was far from shy.
"Eh, not really. The innocent tend to be boring, so I don't really bother. And you? Bump into larger guys often?"
Jayr would turn the smile into a devious grin, her eyes batting for a short moment as she swayed to the side her knees dipping in the same effect enjoying the little play time she was given though the boy did mention the prospects of fighting, even though she was not all to big into fighting it was becoming slightly....pleasurable. Even the little spats she'd manage quickly with her best effort.
"Sometimes.." She'd say in a co voice, her feet taking to inching steps closer before halting. "Though most of them are Crybabies." A short giggle as her hands remained their her shoulders shrugging slyly and she'd cock her head.

Now, Cain was starting to feel the awkwardness, much due to the sudden change in her personality. It was just a few moments ago that she was giving him the 'bitch' attitude, scolding him and then walking away from him, right after bringing Brent down with one kick too. That seemed completely different to how she was being then, for she now displayed herself to be the shy and meek girl. What an utter contrast. She was swaying side to side, with her arms behind her back, an act so common and yet so adorable.
"Sometimes.. Though most of them are Crybabies."
Cain could only return that grin of hers with a smirk of his own, keeping himself straight as she inched closer, before turning back towards Brent's direction. At that, he could not help but chuckle, shaking his head slightly in the process.
Man, you bumped into the wrong girl today, Brent.
At that, he turned back to Jayr, that smile shifting back to hospital once more, before following it up with a chuckle, nodding his head in agreement to her earlier comment. Yeah, they really are crybabies sometimes. Due to Cain's size, he had always been picked on by larger kids. Well, each one only had a couple of tries before they decided against it. Cain made sure of that.
"Yeah, can't help but agree with that. So, you're not having class now?"
He inquired, tilting his head to the side. Was this a start of a flirting session? Oh, no, that was not going to be the case here. Cain was not allowed to, after all. Hell, Cain was simply asking for the sake of it. He never really had an ulterior motive anyway. Most of the time he spoke, he never did.

The curious case of Flirtation. Jayr pursed her lips tenderly still a subtle mix of teetering and upright, adorable she was sure was the image she was giving the boy named Cain. She didn't know what she was up against having only just met this recent encounter but she wasn't worried. He didn't appear the hostile sort though seeing as how he'd gotten wrapped up in the large man's business spoke otherwise. Now there was the subtle thought in her mind if he was any good, the nervous passion tingling under her skin, letting her hand trail up her leg toward the top of her thigh and settling at her hip jutting to the side slightly with a bit of attitude to it.
"Yeah, can't help but agree with that. So, you're not having class now?"
So the question was asked, being out of pure curiosity or something more prying. She knew basic psychology of some people, it was simple enough once you spent the time to observe those around you, they fell into the categories of aggressive or passive now which was he.
"Well I was in between classes but I don't find too much worth in shop class, kind of the slackers class though it is required."
Pursing her lips thoughtfully she'd turn to the side angling away from him a moment to look down the hall speculatively as the consideration barely phased her mind, of course she didn't actually have shop class. She was curious now to see if he was the bad boy or the rule type. All just a majority of tests and conclusions.

It was at that moment, then, that Cain suddenly had a sudden worry of her being one of those manipulative women. She seemed to have the skills of one. An efficient fighting style, the ability to change personalities almost immediately and her natural beauty. She pretty much matched the description. Of course, Cain was not going to jump to conclusions here, but the possibilities were as high as they were not. It was their first meeting, after all. Perhaps Cain was looking a bit too much into this? It was probably best that he just went alone with the flow and allow her to create the desired first impression she wanted to make upon him, and not let his own paranoia stop her. After all, he could be wrong.
"Well I was in between classes but I don't find too much worth in shop class, kind of the slackers class though it is required."
Cain chuckled, before allowing his eyes to glance away for a moment, his smile fading away into a slight pout. In his head, he recalled the image of a piece of paper, although it was actually just in his bag. His timetable, to be precise. What was he having next? Oh, right. Algebra. His frown grew more prominent, as he turned towards her.
"I'm having Algebra after this, and I'm having half the mind to skip the class right now."
And once more he chuckled. Really, had anyone been watching them throughout their entire time together, they would really be unnerved. It almost seemed as if there were two sides of them. Yes, even Cain. The side that he displayed now was completely different from the adrenaline-junkie that he was known to be in the battlefield.

Bad Girl, Bad Boy
The school seemed to be full of them these days, but then again that made things interesting without their kind Jayr was sure she'd loose it being faced with nothing more than a flocking generation of puppy dogs not to say they weren't unwelcome in her world. She'd shrug setting the thought aside before Cain would chuckle and speak up.
"I'm having Algebra after this, and I'm having half the mind to skip the class right now."
Jayr would purse her lips thoughtfully considering the options. Her "shop class" or spending a little time rampaging around campus, maybe even Cain would step up much like Donnie had to present something a little fun. Despite the facade of a little princess she so cunningly portrayed she was a bit of an adrenaline junkie herself.
"Well if you decide you want to have a bit of fun I'll be waiting by the front courtyard."
A tender little wink once more jumping back on the other side of the emotional spectrum to seductive as she snuck away from the shy persona of herself. A limp hand extending into a wave as she passed him once more taking slow and yet poised strides so that each heel would click against the tile floor of the school like a taunting bell.
Her hands would pull up towards her chest holding the books that'd once been at her side to her torso once more resuming that features and appearance of just another school girl. All the while still carrying a covert little grin pacing her way out the front of the school to rest by the wall outside giving Cain a good few minutes to decide before she'd teeter off into the parking lot looking for her car.
