Liana had only to wait patiently for Talon to give her a reaction other then tense, anxious and shut off. And when he opened his eyes at last, she gave a small laugh at the nickname he used. She hadn't been called Lia by many or for a very long time. She let her hand trail down from the top of his, across his wrist, and settle on his forearm, as he reached out touching her jaw.
To reassure the touch she tipped her head, leaning into it a little. Finally removing the hand from under his shirt, as...inappropriate it looked having it there in the first place, Liana reached up so her fingers touched his. Her eyes lingering - speculative and searching, wondering if she was mistaking in some way.
She had been so thrown off by the kid she thought she had know Devon to be (true even if it wasn’t founded on anything)... she really didn't want that to be true with Nicky of all people. He had been her first real friend...even if the relationship hadn't panned out long.
He had changed outwardly a lot, shed the air of childishness that youth presented - now making room for more mature features and sharper qualities in his looks – nothing like he had been back then. Lifting her hand to his head she raised an eyebrow and ran her fingers across the short buzzed ends, "now when did you do this to your hair, hm?"
She remembered a kid with a head full of hair, and her tone was a little teasing - finding it easy to recall several different memories involving Nicky all of them good times. All for except when he had left. Sinking all the way down to her bottom to join him completely, dropping her hands as well, not worried how odd it looked to be sitting on the cafe's floor.
They didn’t have to get up right now if he wasn’t ready to, she was perfectly find waiting on him.

As her head tilted ever so slightly into his touch, her hand sliding down his own, he shivered once more...this time more visibly than before. Noting the way her eyes lingered questioningly on him, her hand coming up as delicate fingertips touched upon his own.
Did he know where he was and the situation they were currently presenting? Not a freaking clue! He was too focused on her.
Then she settled down in front of him, her touch withdrawn as his own hand fell away..a smile spreading across those plush lips as she spoke up in a teasing and lighter tone......
Talon couldn't help but chuckle at the question, more than certain it was her now as he relaxed back against the wall, drawing his legs up just enough to rest his arms upon his knees.....
"Well couldn't stay the dorky little kid with the shaggy do forever could I? Besides, from what I am told the girls like it."
His own tone meeting with that teasing nature as he relaxed his head back, his own smile displayed upon those handsome features as he motioned slightly with one hand toward her now in return.
"I could ask when you decided to become such a beauty? But then if I remember right you were always just about the prettiest girl I had ever seen."
No line, no playboy attitude, just the honest and genuine truth as he thought back to the girl she had been. God how he had wanted to tell her how he had felt, how he had wanted to steal that elusive first kiss from her and yet how he had been too scared. Too worried that she would never want anything to do like that with a freak like him.
"Seems like fate decided to give us another go eh?"
His head tilting just slightly as emerald eyes focused on her own.

"Well couldn't stay the dorky little kid with the shaggy do forever could I? Besides, from what I am told the girls like it."
Her only answer to that was to give another low laugh, shaking her head a little, though silently she had to agree, the look worked well on him. And to emphasize she agreed with that she hummed a softly, almost in approval. Liana was sure that he had no problems getting second - third glances from any of the girl. When he went on to compliment her though she ducked her head down, letting her hair fall into her face a little and not bothering to brush it away.
She could hardly agree with him there though. "Oh come on," she said with a lightly amused tone. "I was a bean pole back then."
As she remembered it, her dad had been trying to make her a little boy or something - so she had always had the knack for getting dirty somehow even when her mother bothered to put her in dresses. She had just liked to play outside that much. Her hair had always been long but when she was a child it lacked the control to be tamed like now.
Still...she enjoyed getting compliments, what girl wouldn't? Of course she had always had a soft spot for Talon. Still being as young as she was back then she had thought he was pretty funny because he always was nice, carried something for her, shared this or that...just the way he spoke to her. He never picked on her, or teased her - because inevitably when she started hanging around with him every day she became a target as well for the older kids.
It was never anything serious just sometimes they would taunt the two of them with the k-i-s-s-i-n-g song, or ask when they were going to get married...real juvenile stuff. But it had been okay, because they always found somewhere to go to avoid it and play or hang out. When she had learned of his Synesthesia - of course she hadn't known that was what it was called. Just from what he explained - that sounds could make shape, and colors, that smells created a taste for him...or something like that.
And all Lia could think of at the time was how cool it was that he got to experience things in a different then everyone else. But how terrible she felt and angry that those kids would pick on him for something like that, something that could be wonderful to know. Pulling her legs up, Liana looped her arm around them to pull the close to her, "I never thought I'd get to see you again...you kinda left with no warning."
It had been more then crushing for Liana when that had happened, and she hadn't tried to make another friend like that again. She didn't see the point in it. Of course she never blamed him for it either, and the more time that went by the more she understood that it could have easily been her that had moved first, if not him. Everything had always been so temporary back then.

Talon kept a close eye on her as she spoke, noting the way her head ducked at the mention of the beautiful girl she had been and still was. Perhaps to others she had been something different, but then nobody saw her the way Talon did. How could they?
As she straightened slightly, continuing to speak and drawing her legs to her, he could not help but think of how the room seemed filled with that lovely scent she brought forth with her beauty. Then once she was done, he sighed, a slight lowering of his head as he thought about his leaving.
"I would have said goodbye, and God knows I tried, but I woke one morning to movers and my Mother telling me we were leaving...When I tried to get out to see you my Father grabbed me up and demanded I get busy packing....
Then when I tried again, he got physical. I dont know if you remember but I wasnt worth much back then...couldnt really hold my own against the old man."
He gave a light chuckle, sure his Father had taken delight in smacking him around a bit while he was growing up, but with Talon the marks stayed but the feeling was nothing painful, he just pretended........
Reaching out, he let his fingers lightly brush back her hair, the tips of such slowly grazing the side of her cheek as he did such and then slowly tucked it behind her ear.
"No hiding that pretty face I risked so much to see one last time back then."
Why had he gone to such lengths for a girl he only knew for such a short time? Because she had been, in his young mind, the closest thing to happiness he had ever felt.
The thought catching him off guard and causing his hand to linger against her flesh a moment longer than it probably should have before he cleared his throat and lowered his eyes, graciously pulling back his hand and once more resting his arm against his knee.
"I never forgot that day. I still have the letter I was going to give you. Heh. Foolish kid I guess."
He shrugged thinking of the box he kept locked away in his closet with trinkets from countries he had been to....Ages since he had read the letter, yet there it remained....Almost as though he held some hope he could give it to her one day.

When Talon started to explain about that day, the slight smile on Liana's face melted off just as easily as she had put it there in the first place. Lifting her head a little more, her arms loosened from around her legs and she felt a twinge of regret for even saying anything in the first place. She hadn't meant to sound like she thought he had left on purpose...she knew he had no choice.
To hear that he had gotten in trouble like that to just try and come to see her a frown touch her features, her head tipping in dislike for the idea of it happening. Her lips parted as if to say something when he reached out brushing back the hair that had fallen into her eyes to behind her ear. The touch was light, and almost tickling, but lingering enough to make her shut her mouth promptly. It pained her a little to hear it put like that but she gave him a smile again anyways, her teeth catching the corner of her bottom lip briefly when he pulled his hand back.
Liana was somewhat surprised to hear that he had written her a letter, and still had it, but before she could ask any further on it they were interrupted by the same guy that had been their waiter. Looking up expectantly she raised an eyebrow curiously, but noticed that he had a mop and rag.
"I'm sorry, but...you can't sit on the floor."
His tone was apologetic, but obviously forced, like he had been made to tell the to get up or get out. Taking the hint and hiding a smile Liana smoothly got to her feet, brushing a hand unconsciously over her seat and down the back of her thighs, as she did. "Sure, no problem."
Letting them deal with the mess of the spilled coffee, she was more interested in catching up with Talon anyways then a cup of coffee now. So digging into the front pocket of her shorts she pulled the ten that was left over from the movies and unfolded it to place on the table. "Don't worry about the change," a tip for the trouble that had been inadvertently caused, she supposed.
Now, Liana did in fact remember his father - he was an impressively intimidating figure to someone of the tender age that she had been, and Talon had been on the scrawny side back then. Lia was able to catch and take note for a brief moment that certainly wasn't the case anymore. While they had been relatively the same height as kids and on the small side, the difference was obvious. It suited him...like the hair. But still her opinion hadn't changed...she was sure he was the heartbreaking kind. No way he couldn't be. She realized then that she didn't know anything about him anymore.
Smiling wide enough to force a dimple to her right cheek, her hand fell to the side of his wrist and down to his hand as she attempted to urge them toward the door. "Lets get out of here, yeah?" The air would be good, and like any other time in California the weather was mild enough to enjoy a walk.

Talon watched every feature of her face as she went from happy to slightly sad at the tale he told......But he was not gonna lie......He knew she was about to say something, but then the waiter appeared, asking, in his best polite tone that they get up......Talon got the hint and was easily enough hoisted to his feet with a single thrust of his palm against the floor......His hand coming up to pull down his shirt which was stuck, due to the wetness from the coffee, slightly higher on his abdomen than it should be.......
Then, before he could really pay much attention to what was going on, Lia had already paid for the coffee and was grabbing him about the wrist.....A tingle sent through his body.....
God if she only knew what her touch did to him.....But he couldnt find the words to say it.......Instead only smiling in return to her own beautiful upturn of lips and shrugging softly....
"I dont know. So long as I am looking at you the air smells of jasmines, sometimes lavender......So it is always pleasant..."
It felt strange to tell somebody something like that...to let them know, without fear of ridicule, that he actually smelled what they looked like......However strange it might be.......
His mind had gone past trying to think of conversation and the awkward getting to know you phase....All he could think of now as he shifted his hand she had a hold of so that he could slip his palms into hers and wrap his fingers with her own.....was that he wanted to know her all over again......all the new and the old coming together......
His gutsy move at holding her hand making him clear his throat a bit and duck his head almost shyly as he moved along with her toward the door, stepping forth and pushing the door open so that she could exit.....Always the gentleman......of course.....
Once they were outside, the cool breeze hitting his flesh caused him to sigh softly as he heard the dull hum of music...nothing loud just a gentle tone.....pleasant enough......
His hand still clasping hers, assuming she had not jerked away and slapped him by now, he would then tug her gently onward down the sidewalk, his head turning enough that he could keep an eye on the path ahead and an eye glimpse of his vision on her....
"So, I am sure you have a ton of questions...can see it in your eyes.....Go on...ask....I promise..nothing but the truth..."
He let out a soft chuckle, and then placed his free hand on his chest, a show of his promise to be honest.......He had nothing to hide, despite his moving about and partying life, he had not really done much of anything.....A part of him scared, another part unable to bare the colors and smells and touches........
No, for the most part, Talon had lived his life, since their time as friends......alone........

She knew that different things triggered a colorful array of mixed up senses for Talon, but to be told that looking at her induced the smell of jasmine and lavender made her almost pause in consideration. Liana knew it wasn't anything she might have put on directly, because she didn't own anything with those scents - it was just a different way his senses perceived things she had never really understood...and she guess she never would. But she didn't have to understand it to accept it.
It didn't put her off at all that he had said it either, in fact she was glad he had divulged that much to her. As kids she had never asked, never prodded to much about it - of course she had asked a few questions in a fit of childish curiosity. One thing she had come to realize as well that had them getting along was that they were both quite honest with each other and frank. "Well I'm glad to hear I don't smell like...fish or something," she teased with a small a laugh, "and even if I did I'd fully expect you to say I smelled like a flower."
With a teasing wink and bumping the side of her arm to his lightly as they headed to the door, finding that even though his larger hand engulfed her smaller one, it was reminiscently comfortable. She took in the way he seemed to duck his head down diffidently at his actions, and Lia couldn't help but be reminded of the kid she last knew. Like the time apart hadn't even taken place. With an easy silence between them she followed him from the coffee shop to the path of the sidewalk leading away in a seemingly random direction - not that she was paying attention all that much to where they were headed.
Turning her head to look at him, having to delve her eyes up slightly just to see him clearly she laughed outright - a full clear sound, at his observation of her, "am I that obvious?" Shaking her head she pulled herself together with a short hum, thoughtful in consideration. "Okay well," she said taking a breath, "what motivated your father to finally settle in one spot, here of all place in the world? And...are you going to be going to school anywhere?"
There was plenty of time to catch up about what he had done in all those places he had visited that he had listed earlier. If she had it in her mind to do so, she'd send a text later to let her mother know she'd be out late, she just couldn't pass up the opportunity to spend time with Talon. There were plenty of things brewing around in her head now like, had he been happy? Had he met some someone that had made him happy? What had he seen? Done, experienced...since he'd given the go ahead on asking what she wanted, she'd make sure to bombard him with everything she could.

Talon had asked for questions and he got them....a smile brightly shining on his handsome features as he looked a head of them and then turned right.....He knew where he was going.....hoping to surprise her with the spot, though when you moved as much as they did, you saw pretty much everything......
"Well the main branch of the company ended up being built here and Father said he was too old to keep moving so he settled here as the rightful CEO he is. Mother likes the American ways and finds them funny so she is entertained or drunk half the time....."
He shrugged. He was happy to not be moving again. He hated it.....Never staying in one spot...As they continued on, her hand nestled softly within his own, her let his grip tighten just slightly. Turning it from a friendly gesture to more of a "move" yet he was still rather unsure if he should and the shyness continued to show through.
Finally he stopped, spotting the place they were headed and pulling her to a stop beside him.....They were here.....It was a cliff top, a bit of nature lost amongst the concrete jungle, not far from the beach......In fact, if you walked to the edge you got a good over view of the waves crashing on the shore, but the best part was ...........
He shifted his body, a bright smile on his face and his eyes lit up slightly........Now standing before her, he placed his hand which he reluctantly withdrew from her own under her chin and directed her head upward.......Letting her see the sky abov them.
This was the only spot where the lights did not reach....the night sky exposed in all its beauty....a single tree standing steady against the ever growing city.......Aged with time and weathered but still a beautiful site with the night having firmly settled in.......
"I wanted you to see how beautiful it is here.....How quiet...away from clubs and girls with their demands I cant meet....Men wanting to fight and cars honking......I know it is not much....but it is my way of making up for the show back at the deli...."
He then took a step back, letting his hand fall away as he walked toward the tree and took a seat down before it, his back leaning against the aged wood and again his knees drawn up, arms resting against them.......
Eyes ever watchful of her....Waiting for her to think him a fool or a jerk or something.......The boy that still lurked inside scared of the rejection.......

Liana had no problem following along with Talon, not asking any questions where they were going - she was pretty sure of the area they were in at the moment, so she listened with a soft upturn of her lips, the most reoccurring expression on her face so far since the chance encounter. As he spoke she heard relief in his tone when he mentioned his fathers company and finally being able to settle in one spot. Age usually was the deciding factor when it came to dictating what you could and could not do in life.
"Well," she started off, "I'm really am glad we got to meet up again, Nicky...for what ever reason."
Looking down to the ground toward their feet - a blush touching her cheeks, she returned the light squeeze, letting her arm upper arm brush against his casually as she started to lightly swing their locked hands between them. They might have been from different walks of life, but they had surprisingly so much in common. So when the conversation sort of lulled again, its why she didn't force herself to think of anything to say- though there was plenty that they could discuss. Looking to the side Liana took the time to lift her free hand and comb her fingers from her hair line back, keeping it that way for a moment when the wind picked up in a more constant way.
Her attention was pulled back to Talon when he stopped, making her pause as well unsure of how long or how far they had gone exactly, but her light green eyes sweeping around their surroundings. All at once everything came to her attention - the smell of the salt water, and the sound of crashing waves breaking on craggy rocks somewhere in the dark in front of them. Her focus was made to deviate again when she felt Talon pull his hand out of hers, leaving the skin bereft of the shared warmth and empty feeling.
However the removed appendage found her chin, tipping it up and never met resistance in the urging. Liana's eyes fluttered up, curiously - her brow creased curiously before the skin smoothed almost instantly at the site her vision was introduced to. It was hard to find a view like this anywhere around here, you had to move out from the city and while she was there, she soaked it up. Not even the glow from the city really affecting anything she was able to take in. When Talon starting speaking again, explaining what this was for, before she was able to question it herself, Lia smiled a little wider. Looking back to him as he stepped away and following his path to the tree, it wasn't long before she was following.
Sinking down next to him, she laced her fingers together in front of her knees when she bent her legs slightly, using Talon to lean on a little. "This is really nice...I didn't think there was a place like it here."
Tipping her head back so it rested against the tree along with her shoulders, she bent her legs more comfortably, closer to her body, and moved her arms so they rested atop her knee and her hands stretched out in front of her. "I know what this is all like for me," Lia said softly, the wide expression fading to something more content, "what the salt smells like, what the water sounds like and how the wind feels..."
He might already know where she was heading with it, and he knew (or she hoped he did anyways) that he didn't have to humor her. Finally her eyes opened - still hooded heavily as she turned her head to look his way, "but about you?"
She really did want to know though. Liana had always been thought what he was able to distinguish was a brilliant thing.

As she moved to sit next to him, he was pleasantly surprised to feel her body slightly leaning against his own..Yet he made no move other than to lean there and let her settle where she would....
Then she began to speak of the ocean....of how it seemed to fall upon her senses...it was what he had heard many times from others when he got the nerve to ask the staff or his Mother about it.....Yet he knew where this was going and he was glad the night hid his features from clear view for the warmth of his cheeks was clearly felt to him.....Not used to such conversations......
Finally he took a deep breath, letting the salty air hit his senses and then closing his eyes. as he that familiar taste came to his mouth......
"Well, it the smell, it brings forth a sense of tasting oranges.......The water touching me however....is slightly painful, like pins lightly pricking at me......The sound of it causes shapes to fill the air in front of me...Usually very nice and relaxing experience...But if the waves are too heavy it hurts my eyes to look at the colors and shapes it produces......."
He shrugged, his head dropping lightly as his hand slid from his leg slowly and reached to touch upon her own, almost a gesture of asking if he could be honored to hold her within his grasp once more.......
His head turning so that now he was leaned against the tree and looking directly at her...his emerald hues seeking out her own.......His stomach turning at his next choice of words......
"But nothing I have ever seen or felt, or experienced has ever compared to the girl I met all those years ago....No other has ever lit my senses on fire like she did....."
His tone was a bit softer, yet held a bit more of a masculine and husky tone to it as he spoke the words to her.....Knowing nobody would hear them except her....but still feeling they gained the right to be spoken privately.......They had been in his head for many a year now........What better way to finally allow them to escape?

Liana realized it might have been uncomfortable or awkward for him to actually verbalize what he saw/felt/tasted, because she could ask him all day long about what he had been up without really getting to know him again. Finding out how things were for him entirely, was what she was interested it. Re-knowing him like that.
His account of everything as he experienced making the subdued look on her face curve up kindly along her lips. After he was done she felt his hand brushing against hers and it didn't take to much thought on her part to turn her hand so it slipped effortless into his. Liana hadn't taken her eyes off him the entire time he had spoken and when he met her gaze there was nothing but acceptance on her face. Like there had been back then. Lia had always thought him to be just a good person, she never understood how anyone could be mean or poke fun...say what they had to him.
But it was often that people like that usually were the target for people with superiority complexes. She just hoped that the world had been a little kinder to him after they had parted ways. When he went on speaking, Liana felt her face warm up again, obviously getting who he was talking about, and feeling the weight of the significance of them. Breathing out a short small and airy laugh her chin ducked down again, her heart skipping a beat then rushing to catch up at the confession. Because honestly she had never known he had felt like that.
Peering up through her lashes, this time it was her smile - every tiny minute gesture played out her shyness of having heard the words. Still when she replied, Liana couldn't help that her tone was a little teasing again but just as soft and weighted as the side of her thumb moved along his lightly, "oh? I'd really like to meet this girl someday. She sounds like she'd really something to get your attention like that."
Before she could catch his expression Liana moved her head down, shifting in her spot to accommodate the move, and rested against his shoulder, finding the fit comfortable. She still had to wonder, by his words, if he hadn't met anyone else that could appreciate him for him - not what his father did. Liana enjoyed the shared heat on the side she leaned, the calming familiarity and reestablishing connection with someone like Talon that the silence allowed for.

Talon felt her hand shift, slipping within his own and as such he wrapped his grip securely about her delicate hand. Then she seemed to duck away at his compliment once more, a thing which caused his lips to turn down slightly.....The thought that she was so unused to such compliments made him wonder what the hell was wrong with guys these days.....But then a breath taking look cast up through her lashes at him as she spoke, a gentle tone yet that teasing nature easily picked up upon......
Though before he could reply, his lips turning upward into a little bit of a grin she again moved, her gaze turning away from his own so that she could nestle into him, her head resting upon his shoulder and her thumb stroking his hand.......
He could not help but lay his head back, a sigh passing his lips, though clearly one of contentment.......A moment spent on how to reply to her words.....as his eyes fell closed and he decided to just let the words come as they would....
"She was amazing. She accepted me for who I was. And her touch......God, it was amazing the feeling it gave me. The slightest brush of her hand to my flesh sent a shiver down my spine, then slowly spread throughout my entire body.
Her laugh was music to my ears, a beautiful sound that echoed through the air making the most beautiful array of colors and shapes."
He then shifted, the movement would have caused her to have to lift her head off of him as he turned his body slightly to face her, his hand reaching out, fingertips lightly gripping her chin to turn her face upward to his own...so his bright green eyes could look into her own pale ones......
His tone serious and a bit more driven now.....
"She was the first girl I thought I was falling for, and the only one since...The only one who understood me and who accepted me......"
He leaned in then, his forehead resting against her own if she did not pull away, as his tone lowered to a soft whisper and his eyes closed for a moment.....
"I just find it a shame you do not see how truly amazing you were.....How amazing you still are...."
And with that his lips brushed against her own, it was a lingering kiss, yet nothing too forceful...Giving her more than enough room to move away from him if she so chose....as for him...his entire body was on fire and he shuddered at the sensation.....Not wanting to pull away but doing so just the same.......Before he turned his body and lowered his head......
The shy kid in him surfacing once more....
"I am sorry. It is just...I have been wanting to steal that kiss since we were kids...."

Liana could feel her amusement start to tug at her when Talon continued to talk about her though she felt the heat of her blush seem to push past its boundaries from just her face to own her neck slowly. The, she was sure, romanticized version of how she actually made him feel - though she could hear nothing but sincerity - though on the intimate side. But she had asked for it, in a round about way to know. She was glad for the honest truth of it all however because it was so damn hard to find the quality in people.
It was the conviction in the way he said it, even when he paused to shift, making her lift her head and taking her face to direct her attention at him entirely, that sort of stopped her breath short in her throat. The light touch to -what she was sure- her noticeably warmer skin enough to make something sort of seize on her chest, maybe it was the look she was getting or the way his tone lowered with the seriousness of his next words.
And despite the immensity, Liana found a small smile working up on her lips again. She couldn’t believe that no one had perhaps been able to see what she had even as a kid. It wasn’t hard to think of Talon as someone worth knowing – for her it hadn’t been at least, and she wouldn’t be able to accept that no one else had either. Liana’s lips parted slightly when he unexpectedly moved to rest his forehead against hers, but didn’t pull away, her ears snatching up what was whispered.
Swallowing thickly, but unable to say anything to that when she felt his lips on hers, brushing against the pillowed tiers – nothing about it deepening or vehement. Even though…this wasn’t her first kiss, the genuineness behind it and tangible desire that came through behind the light slow embrace was enough to affect her as well. Make her feel like she hadn’t ever experienced it before. Maybe it was because of who it was, expressing this toward her like this.
Regardless, when Talon pulled back she was left with her eyes nearly shut and her lips hovering for just a moment before her somewhat slowed down reactions got her moving again. She sidled her eyes to look at him carefully, his posture now making her relax a little more back into her original spot – not sure how she should touch the subject just yet to what had happened. While it was hardly unwelcome - given their past, that bold move was somewhat unexpected though she had done nothing to discourage it.
“I wasn’t ever the astounding one,” Liana finally said, her tone low but a slow smile curling back up - leaving no room to argue on it. “You never made it hard to like you, want to be around you...and,” with a low laugh she lifted her head titling her head a little to catch his attention, “its probably good you didn’t kiss me back then, I hear cooties were a major problem.”

His mind was lost in the worry and the thoughts of what could happen as a result of his actions just now, that he did not notice much until her head shifted into his line of site once more.....Her words releasing that worried downward turn of his lips into a little grin as he shrugged....
"Would have been worth it. I would take your cooties any time...."
He brushed his tongue over his lower lip as he swore he tasted the slightest lingering of her against his lips. It had been heaven for him, something he would surely not forget.......Yet he had a feeling she may think he was playing some kind of game with her.....some kind of pretty boy trick that most likely she had heard more than her fair share......
"I have never had a girlfriend you know.....Sure, I have kissed girls, and tried to start something...But with my condition, I cant be around people that well.....are disturbing...and ..well....every girl I tried had something off about her......
Eventually....I gave up."
His emerald pools gazing into her own as he drew in a deep breath and then shook his head....A little grin coming to his face as he swiftly moved, his body turning and hand shooting out to snatch her up about the waist, not very hard given his size against her own, tugging her easily enough into his lap as his legs moved to accommodate for such....a laugh escaping him as he did....
"So feel free to infect me with whatever cooties you may have..because you my dear are a the diamond in the rough to me.....Even if you do not believe it..."
One hand easily draped about her waist, the other dragging his fingers slowly down the bare flesh of her arm before falling away....A clearly playful gesture.....If anything, Talon was clearly not the kind to make bold moves....too much respect for those of the opposite sex he supposed......Though in the back of his mind he kept waiting for that smack to come.....The male in him driving him to be more bold, the logic in him having given up and slithered off to the outer recesses of his mind.........

Liana gave a small laugh to what he had to say, glad to see him smile and hear his returned joking with her over the cooties, though she had to raise an eyebrow in a teasing oh really look. However, she found it somewhat difficult to believe he would have such bad luck with girls, never finding someone, that was if it weren't for the fact that she believed him. Though she didn't think Talon would lie, if he was she'd believe every bold face word. She always had. He had never given her a reason back then to think other wise and it carried on to now.
Before she could say anything to that, maybe reason with why that was, the next sound of her mouth was a soft claim of surprise when he easily snatched from her spot to his lap. Liana could only look at him surprised, finding that he was full of them it seemed. Even if she thought she was being put on, which she didn't, he was to convincing to entertain the thought for long. Shaking her head lightly but not letting the rather endeared expression she wore for him, finding it didn't feel odd to pick it back up after so many years gone between them.
Shifting a little to get a more comfortable spot on him, Liana tipped her chin down again from her slightly elevated spot in his lap, to look at him. Her hand having fallen to his should to balance herself unconsciously slid down over his bicep even as his own brushed across her arm. "You sure about that?" She asked in a quieter tone, but still with obvious repartee, "I remember those cootie shots being painful."
She wasn't the naturally aggressive type so she wouldn't lean in again for another kiss despite the rather open invitation to do so. However, she was a hormonal seventeen year old so she couldn't say the idea wasn't tempting, the entertained thought enough to keep her skin at a nice warm temperature, and light with awareness. Before she could go on, her thoughts were interrupted rudely by the muffled sound of her phone ringing, and vibrating in her back pocket almost violently.
Jerking a little Lia reached for it fumbling with an apology on her lips as she fished it out, her thumb hovering over the talk button when she saw the picture, contact number and name that flashed to the screen. Her mother of all people. "Oh," she breathed out, looking quickly to Talon and giving him an apologetic look quickly before picking it up.
"Hello?" She said casually and quietly like she wasn't in some remote spot with a guy after dark in a town that she wasn't all that familiar with. Though she knew how the conversation would go
"Where are you, Liana!" Her mothers tone obviously angry, perhaps a little upset, meaning it was later then she thought it was. "You never sent a text back and your father is seconds away from calling the police, what are you doing?"
Her posture seemed to deflate somewhat and embarrassment struck her for a whole new reason in the moment. The woman's voice carried even over the phone so she was sure Talon would be able to hear it. "Liana? Do you need us to come pick you up? Where are you?."
Her mothers questions were rapid fire almost giving her nearly no time to answer, opening her mouth and looking to the side at her company again she suppressed a sigh, "I'm fine, mom. I'm sorry I just lost track of time. Stopped in for some coffee after the movie and took a walk...no dad doesn't need to come get me, please...I'll catch a cab."
Liana absolutely dreaded the thought of that man rushing anywhere to get her. It wasn't like she was passed out drunk in a gutter alone somewhere, and even as she willed the conversation to end quickly her mother went on, "Do you even have any money on you? I see you left your card here..."
Silently she cursed to herself- her face crimping a little as if almost pained - with the woman's reminder of that fact, not to mention that no...she didn't have anymore cash on her. "Yeah, don't worry about it mom," she said as lightly as possible, "I'll be home in a little bit."
There was almost a rushed goodbye, the I love you too, and the customary, I'll see you soon. Hanging up and letting out a sigh she turned her face to look fully at Talon, her hands with her phone resting in her lap as she smiled a little. "Sorry about that, but it looks like my parents are two seconds away from calling out special forces to come find me."
