It was another lonely night, the sun having just fallen behind the horizon and the breeze beginning to waftin off of the ocean. It was faint, this far in town, but it was there none the less, lending the area around him a him just enough of the smell to send a chill down his spine.
Talon had long since sent his driver home, enjoying the silence of the night that he had discovered in the park. Sure, occassionally you came across the vagrant here and there, but he was not above giving them what change he could spare and sending them on their way. If there was one thing he had learned in his life it was that people sometimes could not help their station in life and he was gifted with one which allowed him to help others.
Of course his Father hated it, but he could care less what that man thought. Talon had always been the freak of the family, yet he was the sole heir to the family fortune and as such he was allowed to go and do as he pleased, so long as he kept his condition a secret and did not cause too much of a stir.
It was a life of secrets and lies, of absent parents and special schools on different continents. Not one he would have chosen for himself but one which he could not avoid. Unless he really tried...As he was doing tonight. Instead of the usual designer attire and the fancy shoes, he had changed into a black tank top and a pair of black cargo pants. On his feet, a set of converse sneakers....giving him the appearance of the normal, average, everyday teen.
A few meters into the park, the smell of fresh cut grass hit his nose, and it did not take long to spot the source. No the city had not come through here today to cut and trim the place up, but instead it was the scent he got from the sight of a vagrant curled beneath a stack of newspapers under a tree.
Inside he could hear his Father telling him to just keep going, but instead Talon quietly made his way over, not pay any mind to the way he SHOULD behave and focused more on the right thing to do. It took but a moment for him to slip forth a hundred from his pocket, not wishing to disturb the man sleeping, and slide it into the closes pocket on the old worn out suit the man wore.
A little gift for him whenever he should awake.
Then, just like that he turned and made his exit, his eyes staying fixed upon the man though they should have been trained ahead of him...for soon enough he found his large form colliding with somebody else....somebody smaller and who instinctively he reached out to catch before they were allowed to fall.
The instant his hands touched upon the figure a shiver shot down his spine and seemed to travel every nerve ending of his body....A rare feeling but one that had his emerald hues seeking out the figure in his grip.
"Terribly sorry. Wasn't watchin' where I was goin'. My fault."
That Australian accent ringing clear into the night air.

Her parents were out again, this time catching a play somewhere, and even if they had offered, dressing up in something formal to sit through something that she would be struggling to understand wasn't her ideal night. Instead she had gone to see a flick, even though it was buy herself, it had been one of the older matinees and hardly anyone was around, and while that wasn't her idea of a great night at least the plot of the suspense thriller had been easy enough to grasp onto in a mind numbing way. The popcorn had been a little stale (and she hadn't tried to eat any more after the first handful), the coke flat (thankfully the water had been free) and she was sure she had put her foot in gum - ruining her black slip on flats. Up side to it, the Twizzlers had been delicious. But all in all, it wasn't a horrible evening. Now as she was getting a chance to walk through the park (which was in the general direction of her house) the mild spring like wind caressed the creme colored columns of her legs and arms. Even though it was evening, the weather here seemed to be at a constant temperature to be able to get away with wearing anything you wanted just about. So the shorts and white graphic tank was more then comfortable at the moment. She was enjoying the relative peace, save for the few couples that were out as well strolling along, standing close and holding close. Liana had pretty much one thing on her mind, starting at 774. It would be her first time going to a school and the first experiencing the environment. Her mother had tried to talk her into finishing the home schooling to get the remainder of the credits, but her argument had been pretty solid, if she couldn't make it a year in high school she wouldn't be able to face at least four years of college. But Liana did understand the reason behind her mother worrying...hell she was getting a little anxious over it too, but she couldn't wait either. She had done more then probably most seventeen year old's, and she liked the idea of being normal. Her phone vibrated, forgetting the sound had been off since the movies. Opening the text she had gotten she saw it was from her mother - running late, don't wait up. Love ya. "Love you too, mom," she muttered in a breath out, but not bothering to reply. Even if she had thought to do it, she wouldn't have had the chance to as she walked straight into something solid, hard and bodily. With a gasp as her first reaction she had no choice to but to take a step back, seeing how who ever it was she ran into wasn't going anywhere. Liana never did quite get the sensation of falling because the next thing that registered in her mind was that now she was pressed up against the aforementioned body. Her pale green eyes shot open and up, somehow her own arm finding its way looped around the person that had helped. When her vision focused on the face hovering above hers, Lia managed to shuffle her feet under her and support her own weight even as he apologized. The drawling accent the next notable thing she picked up on, but was spurred on to speak herself. "No, I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention either," she said quickly with a soft, almost embarrassed laugh, shrugging lightly by lifting a shoulder before, "and they say driving and texting is dangerous." As if to emphasize her meaning she made a lifting gesture of said phone in her hand between them now.

As the girl he held in his hands wrapped her arm about him the sense of chills and shivers seemed only to increase, causing him to shudder ever so slightly. To those who knew nothing of his condition then it would just seem as though the wind had caught him in just the right manner to drive the reaction from him.
Not sure what to make of the feeling he assured himself she was again stable upon her feet and then released his grip from her, shrugging softly as his own light chuckle escalated softly from his throat, a single hand raising as to say "no worries".
"Quite alright. We shall just share the blame and leave it at that."
It was only then that he took the time to let his eyes scan over the figure before him, instantly the scent of jasmine filled his senses and caused the corner of his lips to turn ever so slightly up into a pleased grin. It was not often that he met a woman who set those type of senses alight within his body, nor was it often that he was not bombarded with perfumes and lotions which women felt the need to lather on.
But then, he supposed for most men it played an important role, with him......he needed no such thing....Every person had their unique scent to him and it was something of a blessing and a curse.
After a moment of thinking, he realized he was being a tad bit rude, his left hand extending outward as he lowered his head slightly, respectfully.....
"I seem to have forgotten my manners in the presence of such beauty. I am Talon...Talon Green. You are?"
He supposed that he could have just made his way onward, having offered another apology that would only be wasted and continued on his walk. But he did enjoy company, despite his loner attitude which he seemed to display.
Besides, what sort of man literally ran into a woman and did not at the very least offer his name?
As he waited there, his emerald eyes seeking out her own and a friendly, charming smile on his face, he thought over what she could be doing out here at this time of night. He had wandered through the area more than his fair share and aside from the occasional street thug or vagrant, he usually never ran into anyone else...let alone a girl.
If she shook his hand, he would do what the gentleman in him was brought up to do, lean forward and press his lips to the top of her hand before stepping back and releasing her from his grip, allowing her the space which she needed in order to feel less threatened by his overwhelming presence. Or at least that is what he was told given his size.
If she did not, then he would simply withdraw his hand, crossing his arms over his chest, all the while his mind and attention fixated on her.
It was on the tip of his tongue to tell her the beautiful scent that she filled his senses with with the sight of her, but his vow to keep his condition a secret prevented him. Only succeeding in adding a bit of frustration to the mix of thoughts running in his mind. Though of course...he pushed them aside, and awaited her reply.

She had barely enough time to really catch the fact he had shivered before the guy was dropping his arms and she politely put some comfortable distance between them. Just a half a step back so she wasn't nearly flush against him, and Liana lifted a free hand to push the loose wavy curtain of her light brown hair behind her ear away from her face a open smile finding its way onto her face when he spoke again. "I think I can deal with that," she said in an agreeing tone.
Even though she shifted a little under his somewhat speculative glance, Lia couldn't help but return the favor - he was quite attractive in a playboy kind of way. Like he knew women, knew how to them treat them, and what it took to let them let him treat them right. She had seen the type plenty of times, usually it was with the guys that had the money to entice. While she was hardly lower class, she was far from upper crust, however - Liana wanted for nothing in life.
Still despite all that, a blush touched high on her cheeks when he dropped his next comment on her. No matter who is was from - definitely didn't hurt that the guy was extremely good looking - flattery almost always worked. Without any real hesitation she slipped her hand into his, glad to have name to associate with a face. "Nice to meet you, Talon, I'm Liana Williams -" she barely got it all out before the word was sort of chopped off and a small 'oh' left her instead when he kissed the back of her hand.
Liana grew increasingly glad for their rather dusky surroundings, save the few traitorous security lights lit up sparingly around the park, because she felt her face burn a little hotter probably producing a nice deeper color of red. Liana had to admit though, he was smooth and it was more then easy to get caught up in that rather quickly. Laughing softly again, an old habit caught up with her - dragging her teeth over her bottom lip she ducked her chin before finally releasing the plump flesh.
"Um," she said stumbling with a shake of her head to get something out after being slightly thrown off there. "I was just going for a cup coffee before I went home...would you like to join me?"
It was rather straight forward, even for her, but hell if he had been ready maim, mug, rape or rob her she was sure he wouldn't have just acted so gentlemanly or introduced himself. As she waited on his answer or reaction to her offer she noted something else. His attire and his attitude were just not matching up, his ordinary appearance was being off set by the personality he had shown so far. But Lia felt like she would get to the bottom of that perhaps by the time they parted ways.

He noted the way her lower lip was captured by her teeth, noted the way she seemed to shy away from the compliment he had offered. It was cute, something he had never really thought about before, but he was not "on the prowl" tonight you could say. Well, he never was really, despite his player attitude and his more than charming ways.
Not allowing himself to be distracted by the way she seemed to take delight in his words, he instead focused upon her next set of words. Coffee?
It was definitely an unexpected offer and one that he did indeed delight in. Not many girls offered to grab a cup of coffee with him...but then, most saw his usual attire, his car and his money and that is where their line of vision stopped. To say the least, it was a pleasant surprise.
"I would like that Liana. Though, would you mind a place...that is perhaps not too crowded?"
A strange request indeed, but one which he found great justification in. So far, her words and her presence were a delight to his senses, if he got into some over crowded coffee shop, it would become a lot harder to concentrate and more than likely the over stimulation of senses would only work to cause more trouble than he was willing to deal with.
Yet despite his large figure, and his confident attitude, there was just a bit of shyness...or perhaps shame, hanging on the very edges of his next word......
"Please?"
Those emerald eyes shimmering in the dim light that was offered by the street lamps that lingered just a bit in the distance from where they stood, a look of both amusement and pleading, however small that look might have been, was given to her.
Though, if she did not wish to abide by his request, he would still accompany her, and with a large hand he gestured to the path before them, motioning for her to continue on so that he could walk along side her.
Sure he could act like some punk teenager, give her some cheesey pick up line and try and make his move...But honestly, he was raised better than that, and he had recently come to the conclusion that he would not be "hooking up" any time soon if ever. When you were born with such a strange condition, it was bound to scare off the ladies......It was just easier to make friends......Saved not only them, but himself from the hurt of being let down.......
"So, did ya just move 'ere or been around for a while?"
Being new himself, he honestly did not know anyone. There had been that one girl, but apparently he had been beneath her, and well, other than that, it had been a few random girls from clubs that ended before the night began, and yeah, Talon Green, heir to one of the largest fortunes in the world, was a loner......Maybe Liana could change that.....Maybe for once.....he would know what having a friend was really like........
Hey! A guy could hope right?

Pursing her lips out thoughtfully she nodded, before letting the slight smile retake over her face, at his request and nodding. She wasn't in the mood for large crowds anyways. It was why she had gone to the movies alone, purposefully picking an older movie she knew nobody would be interested in seeing, its why she was alone now in the park before she had headed home. There was a strange lilt on the way he said please, and briefly Liana wondered about that, "of course, I don't mind. I'm in the mood to take it easy, and its hard to do that with a lot of people around."
Lia seemed to recover in record time, regaining some mental footing and confidence with herself which was evident in the once more easy, smooth tone. When he gestured for them to start walking, to maybe go in the general direction of a coffee place she ducked her head in shallow nod and casually stepped back into her earlier pace keeping in time with Talon next to her.
She took the moment to notice that he was tall, much taller then her, and that his legs seemed to stretch on in an envious length, even though she wouldn't be considered short. Her attention was pulled back up to Talon and what he was saying - keeping her from getting a good look any further, although she had felt plenty...And for a moment she almost didn't comprehend what he was saying to her.
"Oh, I just moved back actually," She said somewhat more then a little vaguely but hurried to explain herself, "my father was in the Military, he just retired this year though, we've lived here several times, but now we hopefully get to stay for a while."
Even though she had lived in this city before, things always seemed to have changed with every revisit, and now - as they walked - she struggled to trudge up an obscure out of the way coffee shop that perhaps wouldn't be to crowded. Maybe some chic little hole in the wall not to many people knew about. (Problem with those that if you didn't know someone that had a cousin who's best friend works there...you weren't finding it. Or that's what it felt like.)
But while she contemplated to herself a good place to get a decent cup of coffee, she returned the question to him, "do you live around here?" He looked like he could be a local, but his accent was telling her differently though it meant little to nothing in a melting pot like California. Liana kept her attention mainly focused on Talon, not really watching where she was going but looking like she knew where she was heading...hopefully.

Talon took up stride along side Liana as she again began moving. A glance cast from the corner of his eyes toward her as she moved, male habit more than anything else. He of course noted her smaller stature, her gentle curves, and the gentle flow of her hair...But he kept his mind on point....Coffee, perhaps a little bit of a chat, and maybe walk away with a friend.....It was the best he could hope for......
Then she spoke, and with a little turn upward of his lips he grinned and gave a light roll of his shoulders.
"We moved around a lot while I was growing up. Originally from Australia. Settled here just recently."
He avoided talking about his Father's money, his job, anything about him...Both because he despised the man and because he didnt want to ruin his one chance at a friendship with knowledge of his money and his Father's power.
Instead he just smiled at the way she walked without really watching where she was going, a single arm reaching out and wrapping about her shoulder to pull her against him. Not to make some really sleezy move but to pull her out of the way of another passerby who was too busy texting to see where he was going.
Another chill shooting down his spine at the contact her body made with his and his eyes closing for a moment as he shuddered once more. Though as soon as the man had passed he released her...an apologetic look given as he motioned his head toward the guy that had just passed.
"I figured one run in with a guy was enough for you for one night."
His tone a bit unsure, seeing as how he didnt usually talk to girls....or people in general....Not in normal, regular conversation. Withdrawing his arm and returning it to his side he stuffed his hands in his pockets as the feelings her touch created began to fade. Eyes quick to scan about for some sort of coffee shop or something and finally falling upon a little corner bistro type shop that seemed to be virtually empty and was above all else...OPEN....
"Here we go. Looks like a good enough spot to grab some coffee."
He moved a few steps ahead then, reaching the door first and opening it so that she could slip inside..Waiting for her to do such before he followed and then scanned over the room...Finding a spot off in the far corner to motion towards as their seating arrangements.
Once more though, upbringing kicked in, and the gentleman in him pulled out a chair in order for her to take a seat....Something he would wait on before he dared to take his own and wait for the waiter to make his way over.

Liana's smile melted into complete understanding, and he looked to be around her age as well. It wasn't often you came across someone that had spent their life moving all over the place, which included over seas. "It's hard, isn't it?" She knew plenty about it - how hard it was to do anything when you were never settled in one spot long at all. Friends, well, Lia was sure she had never made one in her life time and kept them that way. Long distance anything was a joke.
She was interested in hearing about Australia though, she had never been there oddly enough considering the places had been. Before she could possibly bombard him with questions as they started to bubble up, she was being pulled in smoothly - fitting right up against his side. And she was embarrassed to see that she hadn't been paying attention again. Laughing to herself, again she shook her head in mild disbelief - normally she wasn't so clueless.
"Thanks, for that. I doubt anyone else would have been as nice about being run into as you were," her tone had dropped a bit in volume seeing as she was right next to him, though the light embrace didn't last long. When he drew back his arm, Lia's brow twitched as she watched him - getting the sense that she had fingered his personality wrong. True, he did have a playboy face, one of those heart throb kind of looks, could possibly be cocky but undeniably charming types...Something now, in his posture and the way she caught the unsure tone coloring his words.
But, Liana had completely forgotten about finding a coffee shop so when he pointed one out not to long into their walk, her formed a small o in surprise and her brow inched up briefly, before she smiled to cover it up. "Yeah, this looks great," she decided, even though the open sign was faced out - the place was empty.
The interior was decorated in cool dark looking wood and green plants. A couch a couple of overstuffed arm chairs around a low impressionistic looking coffee table the most noticeable feature in the space, along with other comfortable looking spots around the room to compliment the design. She was pleasantly taken by surprise when he stepped ahead of her only to hold open the door for her and when she passed she sent him a smile, pausing inside to wait for him. Glancing to the side when he stepped up, Lia followed his suggested gesture to the table in the corner, a small round table that was accommodated for two.
Liana was sure there was supposed to be a point by now that she got over being astounded by the chivalry. But as it was, now a days that sort of thing was practically dead - but not unappreciated. Once more she muttered out an obviously pleased thanks and sat. There had to be something to the guy - he was practically to perfect from all outward appearances and behavior. She kinda wanted to know...hell, she did most definitely want to know, what his deal was.
When they were both seated and she noticed the waiter coming their way she straightened in her seat, her left foot tucking under her right as she pushed them both back under the chair slightly.
"What can I get you both?"
Caffeine for her was meant to be caffeine, she didn't particularly enjoy all the sugar and sweet fluffy extra they put in it so when she made her order it was rather plain, "I'll take a regular black coffee, please."
With a nod from the server he turned his attention to Talon and while she waited she shifted up in her seat and slipped her cell into her back pocket. By the time she was done and their order was going to be turned in, Liana leaned forward a little resting her forearms on the table and lacing her fingers together in front of her, "so, its really something, I'm surprised actually. I haven't met a lot of people my age that have traveled like I have - can you tell me about the places you've been?"
While she was well traveled, she hadn't been everywhere. There were spots she'd like to go, things she'd still like to do given the opportunity and time.

Talon took his seat once she had gotten settled, ordering a simple black coffee as well when the waiter made his way over to the pair. Then, just as his eyes had started to wander about the empty room, the shapes he had not been able to see as a result of her voice began to dance before his eyes upon her speaking......A perfect pattern of shapes and colors that brought a near smile to his lips and distracted him for just a moment.
Eventually however his attention again shifted toward her, that scent filling his nose once more upon the look of her....much stronger now that he could fully see her in the light the room provided.
"I have been to Italy, Greece, Rome, and almost every other country you could imagine. If not for my Father and his business it was my Mother and her never ending need to adventure and travel. Forced to take her only son with her for fear of coming off as a bad Mother."
He trailed off, having let himself rant when the moment had not called for it...With an apologetic smile he lowered his eyes from her and sighed, his muscular chest rising and falling heavily as a result of such.
"I am sorry. Sometimes I forget myself and the words seem to escape before my mind can catch up."
It was only then that he dared to look back at her. He was not a shy man, not in the slightest, but he was respectful, something his grandfather had taught him before his death several years ago. He had always said that no matter the way a woman looked or behaved, she always deserved to be treated like a lady. It was not his place in this world to degrade them of the grace they were born with.
Those words continued to echo in his mind as he offered a genuine smile toward her....his deep yet softened tone escaping once more..
"I hated it. Never had a real friend, never had a relationship.......Just...alone...all my life...It was a life I wouldnt wish on anyone."
No, he had never had a relationship...had come close to love once..but she had been left behind like so many others before it could ever really become anything.
"How about you? Where all have you been?"
His eyes shimmering in the light as he laced his hands on the table, resting them just in front of her own, only a breath of space between their touch.

As incredibly convenient it all seemed, Liana liked that she could relate so much to Talon and how he had lived. Instead of dwelling on the fact that when you were shuffled from one place to another so many times, you never had the opportunity to make friends or have a real life, Lia highlighted other aspects of it. "I bet Rome is beautiful. I’d love to go there one day." She said sounding a touch envious however thoughtful, but not without missing a smile on her face still.
But she got it, how dragged down it all was after so many times. Parents were a little inconsiderate to the fact that their kids probably wanted nothing but consistency in their life, something stable and normal. But she couldn't imagine being anywhere her father hadn't gone, she liked that instead of going months without seeing him he was around everyday, home for dinner every night.
She could easily say she hadn’t liked being uprooted time and time again like she had, like he had obviously. However she figured they did it for what they thought would be best…and there was nothing she could say now that would sooth those feelings brought back from the past, entirely. Everyone dealt with it in their own way or would, and she wanted to ask if he was expecting that he would be moving again soon, but he went on asking her about the places she’d been.
“Well,” she started only interrupted when their order arrived and Liana gratefully took a drink of the steaming liquid – mumbling her thanks before going on, “my father was stationed mostly here on the west coast so…I’ve lived in Hawaii for a little while…probably the only place other then here that I’ve stayed for a long period of time. I’ve seen Japan – love it there by the way and Hong Kong, also had a chance to visit Malaysia.”
Setting her cup down to let it cool her fingers curled around the outside of the heated ceramic as she looked up at Talon. “When he was transferred to the east coast we spent a time in Spain.” While they had been there particularly they had commuted to France at the first opportunity just to see the sights. Lifting a hand so she could rest the heel of her hand along her jaw she leaned into the support. “So what does your family do to travel like that?”

As the drink arrived he nodded his thanks and then slowly pulled the cup toward him, the scent of coffee causing the taste of peppermint to fill his mouth. Though he just took this in stride, showing no sign of it effecting him as he watched her take a sip. To some it may have seemed creepy the way he watched with those hypnotic emerald eyes, but to those close enough it was clear that their was a genuine fascination in the girl before him.
He was not just watching her drink coffee, or listening to her speak as the shapes and colors filled the air around him.....No, he was watching the way her face lit up when she talked about certain places, how her hair shifted just slightly when she moved. Every detail noted to memory.
Again, it could have been taken as something creepy and strange, but in his eyes was the look of somebody who was gazing upon a piece of art.....Studying it and committing it to memory on the chance that he may never see such again.
Then as she finished, he raised the cup to take a sip, the taste instantly causing a noise in his ears which he worked hard to drown out.....setting the cup down quickly to avoid the chance of not being able to hear her if she spoke again.
It was then, with the most subtle of movements....a gesture his mind did not know his body was going to make until it was too late, that he pushed his cup just an inch too far, causing his fingers to brush every so slightly against her own....An instant chill racing down his spine like finger tips tracing the muscles of his flesh.
Of course he withdrew, clearing his throat and hoping his latest shudder had not been noted, quick to hurry with a reply in order to draw attention away from the way her warm flesh had felt against his own, however brief it was.
"Well muh Dad...He has a company, has branches all over the world. Used to have to go to each one bein' built to make sure it was done right. But now, he says he wants to settle so, here I am."
His tongue brushing over the right corner of his lower lip. A nervous tic he had since a child that he was so unaware of.
"How 'bout you? Sticking 'round for a bit I hope.."
That smile once more offered toward her as he laid his hand palm flat against the table and drew it back just a tiny bit more from the area of her hand.....

The truth of the matter was, Liana didn't take particular notice in Talon's staring or rather she didn't put any emphasize on finding it odd or out of place. She liked that she had his attention so explicitly, not that she felt the need to be the center of attention but she liked that he was at least attentive. Or he found her engaging enough to be so. Since arriving, not all her run ins with a few people had been all the great, she sort of needed someone she could talk to - that wasn't her parents.
And she was quickly beginning to become comfortable with Talon, in a almost familiar way, so it wasn't any stretch of the imagination that she could see herself having a friend in him. That was if he wanted to speak to her at all after tonight. Dropping her hand away from her face she picked up her cup to take a slow, still careful, sip from from it - though...she paused when she felt the casual brush of the back of his fingers to hers. It was easy to be taken as an unintentional thing, but before she could really take in his reaction to the slight touch her attention was driven else where...
When he went on to answer her question of why it was that he had traveled so much, Lia's smile stretched a little more on her face, finding that interesting. However, she imagined that must have made it all the more hard on him, because it sounded like a pretty extensive operation, just what she could tell of the brief mentioning.
She wasn't able to ask anymore about it, and she could tell that he didn't particularly want to, or actually it was the vibe she got - so she didn't push. Giving a small laugh her expression shifted into a sheepishly unsure look as she let out a breath, "I sure hope so, too. That's what the old man promised anyways. Parents always want to say one thing...but, we'll see, huh" Lia said picking up her mug again, thoughtfully taking another drink. Her father had promised a few times that she could remember that they would be able to settle here or there for good. And the last time she had been fooled into believing it - because a kid never wanted to think their parents weren't telling the truth.
She had allowed herself to get comfortable, try to make friends, and she did...quite successfully. Even met a boy, who was interesting...to say the least. Liana had thought he was great, unique and she had never met anyone like him again. He had been smart, a little weird because of his manners and how polite he was but everything else...Hiding a rather reminiscent grin behind her fingers when she lifted it back to its original position on her chin, her other hand pushed around a drop of spilled coffee on the table in front her.
She couldn't help but make the comparison actually between Nicky and Talon, they were kind of alike in some ways....but she mentally shook the idea off before she could dwell on it to much. "So are you going to school around here?"

Several things were going through his mind as he sat there watching her, feeling this sense of knowing that he could not quite place and pushing it aside as some sort of side affect from his condition.....
Then, just as he was about to answer her question, a series of things happened....a drunkard came in, screaming out about wanting a cup of coffee and demanding it now......Which shot a series of horrid images into his vision...which in turn caused him to spill a bit of coffee on himself as he slammed his eyes closed......
The coffee, though cooled some was still hot, but as it touched his flesh, the pain of the slight burn caused his ears to be slammed with a loud crashing noise.
With his eyes still closed he set the cup down in time to throw his hands over his ears. He never knew which sense would fire in reaction to what, and in this moment he was in immense pain at the loud slamming noise echoing in his mind.....Because when you set coffee down with closed eyes and pain distraction...it spills, and did so on his shirt...which burned...and made the noise louder.......
He stood, the chair falling back as he stumbled back and hit the ground, hard...with his ass.....A groan of pain escaping him as he tried to cut out the things which were hurting him. But the man kept shouting, the waiter trying to settle him down, and the shirt he wore now a constant source of pain.
FUCK!
He hated this, and hated that he had done so in front of somebody he thought would make a friend......But for now, he couldn't get his hands away from his ears long enough to pull the shirt off, only long enough to slam both fists into the ground, hoping the pain of such would help....His head laid back against the wall then.....Soft sounds of pain trapped within his throat as he struggled to regain himself.

Liana never got Talon's answer to her question and she was taken by surprise really, at the almost violent reaction he seemed to have to the stinking drunk that wondered in and shrieked about getting some coffee. When he closed his eyes, spilling his drink, Lia jerked a little all the events happening to quickly in succession for her to really process what was going on. But when he seemed to move quickly to clamp his hands over his ears, inadvertently spilling the cup completely, she was out of her own seat when her company stood.
Both distractions of the guy still yelling and Talon in front of her in obvious pain over something spurred her on to glare before she moved again, hurrying when she saw him fall back. Concern for him overrode her irritation of the other man making the ruckus (but who was getting under control quickly). For a moment as she sat knelt next to Talon, Liana wasn't sure what to do, nothing physically wrong with him from what she could see.
There was no reason for him to be holding his ears, with his eyes closed, if the only thing that should have been causing discomfort of any kind was maybe the spilled coffee on his shirt-
Like a kick to the head, she realized it and her mouth was a gap slightly from the shock of recognition before she moved again. Like the fragmented memories of earlier, this hit her with clarity, remembering something like this happening years ago...
Liana brushed a hand over Talon's which were still clamped stubbornly over his ears, her features had relaxed, remembering...the effects of what different things had on the senses, so she slide her other hand down tugging at the sleeveless undershirt so her fingers could slip under the material. Dragging the wet shirt away so her hand pressed to the scalded skin lightly.
The hand on his, brushed down barely touching the skin of his cheek, as she waited for him to open his eyes at least. She just couldn't really grasp that this was Nicky - well...he had certainly grown up. And it was almost as if that thought made her aware of just where she was touching or rather how. Her lips slowly pulled down, but only slightly as her cheeks heated. Quickly though she offered up a sheepish, but worried smile. "Are you alright?" She asked softly, the same concern lacing her tone that was reflected on her face.

He was trying, but unfortunately failing at getting himself under control, and then, just like that Liana was before him, her touch felt upon the flesh of his hand as those chills she sent down his spine briefly interrupted the pain in his head caused by the noise.....If only that had been enough.....
He was about to try and utter some form of explanation, about to try and move the shirt himself, when suddenly the material was pulled away from his flesh and the cool, soothing touch of her other hand laid against his flesh.....
Though the dull throbbing continued lightly in his ears, her touch overrode his other senses and his entire form relaxing, leaning back into the wall as a soft sigh of relief escaped him.....Then, as his eyes remained closed yet in a more calm and less pained manner, he shuddered, heavily, the feel of hands brushing over him, not only where she touched but everywhere, causing him to do such......
It was only when the sound he heard was down to a dull hum that he began to realize what she had done........She had known why he was in pain, and had stopped it......But.....How?
His mind wandered, but before he could get too far, she spoke, and it was enough to get him to finally open his eyes, those colors and shapes that he so enjoyed once more filling his vision. Yet the man speaking not too far off continued to speak and the visions he created threatened to invade his sight once more...But it was nothing he could not handle...He had learned to do such when it was controlled and kept to a minimum......
Instead though, his eyes found her own, and the look of concern combined with the actions she had just performed seemed to register something in his mind......But..it couldnt be...Right?
Her name rolled about his mind and as he looked into those eyes a memory of his childhood came back......
He had always been made fun of. The freak, the kid who acted so funny when people touched him or talked to him. Hell they even made fun of his name...So, as a result he had taken up the name Nicky. It got them off his back, at least for a bit.....but the way he reacted to things was a constant sense of amusement to them. Yet, there had been one girl who had seen him and who had actually talked to him like a friend..They had started up some sort of friendship actually, and had spent much time together alone where the others couldnt really pick on him. Then one day, he had done the unthinkable, he had told her why he was the way he was........
And she had accepted it....actually thought it kinda cool.....
In that moment he was sure he had found a girl he could so fall for, as much as a kid his age could and all.....She was nothing but pleasant to his senses, no matter how she acted, she accepted him for him, and she was smart, funny and had so much in common with him that it was like some kind of sign.......
Then there was the day one of the older boys had thrown Talon against a table and a bowl of chili had spilled onto his hand...the heat of which had sent pain pounding into his head.......He had closed his eyes, falling to the floor and crying out in pain as the others laughed.....
But eventually the pain began to soothe and when he opened his eyes....it was that same exact look of concern he got now that stared back at him......
"L....Lia?"
He didn't know why the name had not registered with him before...perhaps because when you lost the ones you really liked, like he had her when he moved, you tried to forget to avoid the pain it caused......Either way, his hand, the one she was not currently touching, came up, fingertips brushing just against her jawline and increasing those shivers down his spine.....
Almost as if to make sure he was seeing right and his senses were not totally fucking him over this time......
