Kale had no intention of going to his next class. He had never been very good when it came to science, and it just so happened that he had chemistry next. There was absolutely no way he could sit through such a brain-numbing class and walk away without a headache. And a headache wasn't anything he wanted right now. Instead, he kinda felt like he had an excess of energy. This teenager felt like a little exercise would be good for him. What better way then throwing a ball through a hoop, right?
This day had been slightly wet, it had been sprinkling all morning but just before Kale had reached the gym it started pouring. His hands pushed open the gym doors, and instead he would go. Those black boots of his covered in mud and that said mud soon being tracked into the gym. It wasn't like Kale cared, but he was sure the basketball team currently trying to practice might. He'd shrug it off, and grab one of the balls that had been left off to the side. The large male would continue to move out toward the hoop closest to him, completely ignoring the students near the other end that seemed to be huddled together talking about something.
Kale's right hand would dribble the ball as he moved slowly toward the free-throw line, his boots marking where he had been a step before. He would stop once he reached it, and then take a shot. It would hit the square on the backboard and drop into the net. A few quick steps and he'd grab the bouncing basket ball and resume his position before to take another shot. It was only when he was getting ready he'd hear a voice call out from behind him.
"Hey, hey, hey! You can't wear boots on the court, man.. You'll mark it all up! Not to mention we're trying to get some practice in here, and your in the way AND getting mud all over the damn place!"
Kale would pause as he was about to shoot the ball once again and glance over his shoulder toward the kid that was basically telling him that he wasn't allowed to get his exercise right now. He'd glare at him for the moment, and then shake his head slightly before turning it back to focus upon the hoop once again. Kale would take his shot, but this time he was off by a few inches, and the ball woud bounce off the backboard angled toward the bleachers not too far away. A small sigh would escape his lips before the junior would turn to face the member of the basketball team.
"Shiit, you guys really think practice is going to help you? Get the fuck out of my face. I'm trying to shoot over here."

So, like... I need a Student Body President, a Varsity Captain and a Head of the School Newsletter? Well, it's easy to see who can fit in the last pillar position but as for the other two... I'd have to be careful who I pick. Wait, wasn't Spike the Student Body President of #259? Maybe I should offer him the post? He seems like a good guy, albeit a rule-breaker and a fist-first-words-later kind of guy. Then again, aren't I like that too?
Cain chuckled as he paced down the hallways, clad in a black fitting shirt with a dark brown leather jacket over that, finishing his attire with a pair of black denim jeans, held in place by a brown belt too. As for footwear, Cain was clad in a pair of black Adidas sneakers. Yes, it was not that hard to see what he was doing here. Simply patrolling the almost-empty hallways, and thinking at the same time as to who he would appoint as his pillars.
Varsity Captain... Well, I don't really pay attention to the sports clubs much. I don't know who I should appoint. Maybe I should go scout it out? Which club is having their practice now?... Oh, the basketball club!
A small smile came to his lips as he turned on his heels, turning towards the hallway that led to the gym. However, just as he was nearing the scene, he saw something off. The basketball team were huddled together at the center of the court, all facing the same direction, the one on the most right leaning forward, as if talking to someone. Or yelling, seemed more like it. Cain furrowed his eyebrows. Trouble? He reached into his pocket, pulling out his Student Captain gloves and putting them on.
"Shiit, you guys really think practice is going to help you? Get the fuck out of my face. I'm trying to shoot over here."
"Yo, what's going on here?"
And cue the entrance of the School Captain.

Yo, what's going on here?
Those brown hues would slide from the obviously pissed off basketball team, toward the male that had just arrived, and spoke out. Kale would keep them upon him for the moment. Maybe he was really going to have to get use to this place. In Detroit most people knew better then to interrupt others in an argument. Especially when there was always the chance that someone could be packing heat and pull it out to let some lead fly. San Diego seemed a bit different though. People seemed a lot more willing to speak when it was none of their business.
"Not much. I was trying to show these tools how to shoot a basketball.."
The large male wouldn't smirk or chuckle. His facial expression wouldn't change at all from the serious look he had on his face. In all honesty, Kale didn't give a crap about whether he was interrupting their practice at all. He was always the kind of guy who did what he wanted, whenever he wanted to do it. He wouldn't move from his position, instead those beefy arms of his would lift and fold at his midsection as his ears would pick up more muttering from the basketball team.
"It's none of your business anyways.. Scram."
Maybe the brown haired male would get the message and take off. Or maybe something else would happen. Kale wasn't one to let anyone intimidate or tell him what to do either. His right hand would unfold slightly and lift to rub at his nose. These situations were hard to deal with right now, every inch of his being was screaming at him to punch the spokesperson for the basketball team in the face. And as for the male who had recently approached, Kale would do the same if it came to it.

Oh, he was asking for it, wasn't he? Cain let out a soft smirk as he took a step forward, as if challenging the larger male. Cain had always been underestimated due to his height, but as disadvantageous as it should be, Cain pretty much had the speed and agility to make up for it. He was a speed-based striker, both by chance and by choice. He flexed his right hand for a brief moment, before letting his voice fill the gym once more.
"And if I don't?"
Meanwhile, the basketball team, who would have definitely seen the tourney considering the gym itself had been where the tourney was held, knew and recognised Cain as their school captain and took a few steps back, as if clearing the way for the Junior. Perhaps that was a big enough message for the larger male, who still held the ball in his hand. Of course, Cain would have to know what this was about, but for now, he was going to have to feed his appetite for adrenaline.
Besides, was it that hard to tell what the basketball team was pissed about, with the mud that the large man had left behind all over the court.

And if I don't?
Kale would stare toward him for a moment and then a small smirk would finally break out on his face. He would give a single small 'hah' before his jaw would harden once again. At least this male didn't seem like he was easily intimidate either. Kale wasn't so stupid as to simply think he would win a fight just because he was bigger. A bigger frame did have it's advantages, but it also had plenty of disadvantages as well.
"If you don't.. I might have to rough up that 'pretty boy' face of yours."
He didn't expect the male to back down though. Something told him that he was far more brave then the rest of the chicken shit students he had run ins with so far. It was entirely possible that Kale was biting off more then he could chew. But he wouldn't know for sure until shit hit the fan and by then Kale would probably be having too much fun to back out. Backing out wasn't his style anyways. Physical confrontation had always been enjoyable for him. In this world it was the survival of the strongest. And Kale knew how to survive.
"It's your call, 'big' man."

"If you don't.. I might have to rough up that 'pretty boy' face of yours."
Cain grinned, allowing his, however subtle, ego to feed into that compliment for a moment. Cain lowered his head, knowing that this guy could be just your average cocky little bugger. Of course, the chance of that was just as high as the guy being an exceptional fighter and probably going to be able to give Cain one hell of an experience. He was big, obviously strong too. How fast he was, Cain was going to find out sometime soon.
"It's your call, 'big' man."
Oh hoh, a taunt? Cain's grin widened. Now, added to the fact that Cain wanted to appease his hunger for battle, he also sought to stuff the guy's words right back into his throat. Jokes about his height ticked Cain off sometimes, especially when he was in such a violent mood. His call, huh? Well, so be it, then. Cain let his right foot slide backwards, his upper body leaning forward and his left knee bending a bit. Then, he would lift his right heel so that he was on his toes.
And then, without warning, he would push off, the School Captain demonstrating the speed that he was mostly known for. Yes, he was going somewhere near his top speed there, not having warmed up enough yet to go all out. And as soon as he neared his opponent, he would allow himself to slide slightly on his left leg, knowing that a stomp would decrease the power of his right roundhouse kick as he sent it coming round low, aimed at Kale's left thigh.

Kale would keep his eyes upon the male before him. It seemed that his words were enough to trigger a reaction on his part, though it came in the form of a grin. He couldn't help but think the male obviously had faith in his abilities as a fighter. Maybe coming into this gym was the best thing he had done in recent days, because he had a feeling he was going to get the exercise that he had wished for. Most people would probably look for some greater sign of warning when someone was to fight, but Kale looked for the small things. Such as the male's leg movements. It gave him away in the sense that this junior knew that Cain was preparing himself to move and attack.
It wouldn't give him an idea of in which way he planned to attack, but it was enough to ready himself for the onslaught. Kale's body would have hunched forward slightly, as those arms of his would fold into something of a loose boxing stance, with open hands, as his right leg would slide backwards a little bit. The male obviously wanted to flex his muscle, and Kale was going to have to try and put him down with his own. And as Cain made his move, Kale quickly realized he definitely had a speed disadvantage. But that wasn't really all that new to him. After all, he was a big guy and speed had never really been one of his best physical traits.
Cain had approached quickly, and this junior wouldn't have all that much time to try anything too fancy. Instead, he decided that he wouldn't even bother to try and dodge the blow. He wanted to feel how strong the male was, and in turn it would give him the possibility of a counter. The School Captain would reach him, and attack in the form of a low round-house kick against his left left. The kick would land with an audible clap, but the pain he felt from the blow wasn't too bad at all. Kale would grit his teeth, and react quickly.
Kale knew the distance between them wasn't much at all. And while the other male was faster, that didn't necessarily mean that he was going to have a hard time hitting him if he played his cards right. Due to the fact that he was slightly hunched over, his head was closer to his opponent which would only help to improve his chances. A hard push with his right foot, and Kale would snap his head forward, that thick forehead of his was intended to slam into Cain's face. While there wasn't a big wind-up his his head-to-head attack, it surely wouldn't feel good regardless.

The man took to his stance, just quick enough to catch Cain before he reached his opponent. However, much to the School Captain's surprise, the man instead chose to brace Cain's kick, much to his disapproval. That only meant that Kale was measuring Cain's combat capabilities, and he would realise then that Cain's attack lacked raw power, fed only by his speed, momentum and other forces that very little people bothered to take note of in battle, like gravity. Cain would go ahead, however, as his leg found home, the sound of flesh slapping flesh echoing in the enclosed gym as Cain focused on his opponent, knowing he was in countering range.
Question was, how?
And then, it came and in a very unexpected manner, at that. Cain leaned back as Kale's head came in too close for his liking, his lips closing as he attempted to pull his chin downwards, letting his own forehead smash against Kale instead of the center of his face. The attack connected, the Junior letting out a grunt upon impact as he felt his brain rattle against his skull. He pulled his right leg back, stomping it down behind him to prevent himself from falling backwards, his left leg sliding back a bit for better balance.
His face was stressed up, his head dizzy and his eyes a bit blur, but that failed not to stop Cain from retaliating. The Sabre Fist principle, if you're going to get hit, hit back immediately. Cain's left hand would snap upward from his waist, aiming to drive the studs of his glove into Kale's face.

Kale's head connected with Cain's, but not in the way he originally intended. He would have loved to have busted open the kid's nose, but it seemed that fate wouldn't have it that way. While his head would suffer a bit of the damage from the impact as well, that didn't mean that he couldn't stand it. His own vision would blur slightly, but this would once again give him an opportunity to strike.
Kale's arms had been folded into a light boxing stance in front of his body. And due to the fact that he was bent over a bit more from sending his head to collide with the other males, he figured he could attempt to land another blow while he was still close enough to do it. The junior wasn't completely focused upon Cain's movements at the moment, instead he saw the perfect location to strike.
Cain had dropped his chin to avoid getting his nose severely damaged. And this had opened up the perfect opportunity to see just how good the kid's 'chin' was. 'Chin' was often used in boxing terminology to determine just how well someone could soak up a strong blow. The stronger the chin, the more damage they could take before lights out. His upper-body would give a sudden jerk backwards, and his right fist would lift hard and fast from it's lowered position, aimed to slam into Cain's open chin.
Of course, he had failed to pay attention to his opponent's retaliation to his headbutt. Luckily for Kale he had pulled his head back slightly to perform his uppercut, while it wouldn't cause him to completely avoid the strike by accident, it would prevent it from being nearly as solid. The metal studs of those gloves would collide with Kale's right cheek as his head moved backwards. The pain would be a bit more piercing then the previous kick but Kale knew it was because of the studs. His cheek would immediately take on a dark red hue, more then likely he'd have an ugly bruise because of that shit.
But Kale being the relentless type he was, had no intentions of crying and hesitating because he got punched in the face. He had high hopes for that little surprise uppercut of his, but regardless of whether or not he felt his knuckles collide with the kid's face, he would attempt to follow up by twisting his torso clock-wise and snap that left arm of his foreward. Once again that distance between them was slim to none, and that left hook of his would aim to slam a mean body hook into Cain's right side.

Of course, as Cain's face was at the direction of Kale's body, the School Captain was allowed full view of the man's movements. And he did see the upward jerk after Cain's arm started its journey to Kale's face. His left hand was too far away to intercept Kale's right hand then, so the Junior knew that all he could do was brace the attack. He had just forced his neck forward to counter the headbutt, and those said muscles were not toned enough yet to execute another movement in such a small interval.
Cain's fist found home, but his victory was short-lived as he felt the impact hit his chin, the Junior staggered backwards under the impact, his head once more rattling as it jerked backwards, the Junior almost losing his balance there. He clamped his eyes shut for a moment, trying to regain his composure, his chin aching from the impact itself. He had almost been lifted off his feet there, had it not for his sturdy footing on the ground.
He opened his eyes then, finding himself paying sights to Kale's follow-up as the man twisted towards his right, his left arm swinging in and aiming to hook into Cain's ribs. Oh, no, he doesn't. Cain swung his right arm outwards, knowing that a plain block would not be enough to stop the stronger male. Momentum was needed here, as he let the other side of his right elbow collide with the inner side of his opponent's wrist, as he pulled both his left arm and leg forward, before pushing off with both legs, his left arm lifted.
And he had his elbow pointed towards Kale's upper body, right at the base of the neck.

Kale's knuckles connected with Cain's chin, and for an instant he almost wanted to squeal out in joy. But just as Cain's small victory moments ago had been short-lived, Kale's own would be as well. The hook wouldn't connected as he had wished, instead being deflected by Cain's elbow. He had to give it to the kid, he was pretty good. Whomever he was, he knew how to defend himself quite well. He couldn't help but wonder if there were other people in this school on his level, or if he was just a single, shining star.
Unfortunately he shouldn't have been allowing his brain to go off-topic here, even though he doubted he would have had much of a choice at this moment anyways. Kale would soon be getting intimate with Cain's elbow, and it wouldn't feel too great at all. That said elbow would connect damn near the center of Kale's collarbone, litterally an inch or even less from his throat. He wouldn't be able to stop a grunt from escaping his lips, as the pain shot through his upper-torso.
Kale's right leg would instinctively slide backwards to catch himself from dropping on his ass or stumbling backwards like a fool. His arms would fold and return in front of his neck, and those dark brown eyes would widen a bit. Though this was part of his brief little plan here, as if he was attempting to act as if he had been hurt more then he actually was. Yes, the elbow hurt him. But he was trying to make it seem like it was worse then it really was.
Kale had an idea, and it would be acted on relatively quickly. While the distance between their bodies had grown a little bit, he would still be in striking range with all his limbs. But the limb he planned to use was the one that had saved him from falling. That right leg would suddenly shoot forward as he put his weight on his left. That said knee would have a bit more put into it, due to that fact that it was already pulled back. Kale planned to try and bury that said knee deep into Cain's stomach.
The good thing about this was that he had long legs, so if his skilled opponent tried to jump backwards to get away, he could turn that knee into a steel-toed kick instead.

And his elbow connected. It seems like this was a fight of hard-earned but short-lived celebrations, eh? The two of them were really going at each other, throwing strike after strike as they hustled to get a good hit on their opponent. And Cain knew that this was far from over, for the two of them were already displaying their capabilities to each other. The guy was a striker too, though skill-wise Cain was still unsure which one was the better among the two. He was superior in strength as Cain was in speed.
Kale would stagger back, doubling over, as if in pain, a trick that Cain almost fell for. He knew how his own strikes were. As weak as they were, Cain made it a note to land them on vulnerable and effective points of the body. Well-placed pokes can inflict more damage than a wildly-thrown punch. Well, this was weird. He had managed to keep up with most of Cain's strikes throughout the fight, like the kick and uppercut, but an elbow strike was enough to bring him down?
Oh, no. This was a trick! Cain's eyes widened. He was a tad bit too late in realising that. Curses. Kale would snap back at him with a raised right knee, aiming to bring it around to smash into Cain's stomach. The School Captain furrowed his eyebrows is disapproval, knowing that it was a tad bit too late to dodge the attack now. All he could do was place his left arm in its path and hope for the best, and that was exactly what he did.
And the knee found home, dragging Cain to the side as the man's superior strength finally pushed Cain off his feet. His left arm was hit, and was then forced against the side of his torso. Not exactly the most pleasant of experiences. Cain would stagger to the side, the distance between them expanding even more. Of course, he would recover soon enough as he spun on his finally-balanced right leg, turning to face Kale. He let out a soft cough, before giving a grin.
"So, like, as much as we would love to continue, there's actually no reason for us to be uncivilised, eh? My name's Cain."
Was he trying to waste time? Maybe. Was he giving time for himself to recover? Maybe. Yeah, there were a lot of hidden motives there, but the most important one would be that this guy had earned himself Cain's respect as a fighter, and such could be seen as the School Captain looked into his eyes as a friend would. There was very little hostility in his glare.

So, like, as much as we would love to continue, there's actually no reason for us to be uncivilized, eh? My name's Cain.
Kale's left hand would rub briefly at his collarbone where Cain's elbow had landed, before they would once again take up that loose boxing stance. He didn't know whether this dude was just trying to catch his breath and recover or if he was being serious. But Kale had to admit that he was surprised by the fact that he could fight so well and take quite the punch. Even though he was usually quite the dickhead to most people, he had to give this guy props. For once he'd introduce himself in a somewhat civil manner before he resumed trying to punch his face in.
"Kale.. Heh. Half expected you to have some kind of girl-ish name.. Don't ask me why.."
That was all the time this junior planned to give though. Kale would begin to move, and it would only take a couple large steps with those long legs to reach the other male. that was one of the useful things of being so large, while you tended to be slower you also tended to be able to travel a greater distance with each step. His last step would be his left, and his left arm would be used to attack once again.
This time Kale planned on something simple. He knew he'd have to be careful because of Cain's superior speed, so simple was probably the best chance he'd have when it was he who was assaulting. He would aim to give a straight forward left jab, with his right still folded in front of his chest as if poised to strike. Of course, he would wait to see if his jab failed first. At least he had rather large hands, and that said large left hand was shooting for Cain's face. Regardless of whether it hit, it would help to block his vision even if it was only brief.

"Kale.. Heh. Half expected you to have some kind of girl-ish name.. Don't ask me why.."
What a jerk. Cain grinned. That reply had both insulted and amused Cain, for some awkward and unknown reason. Well, at least Cain was not known to be a girlish name, right? The Junior kept his focus on Kale, though, knowing that this fight was far from over, for that break had not only served Cain a purpose, but it had allowed Kale to rest a bit too. Well, at least it was still a fair fight, in a way. Cain then watched as Kale moved forward, coming down towards him, making full use of his size advantage to increase his speed. And that large hand of his would come in, aiming to leave a dent on the Captain's face.
Yes, he had seen it.
Cain would snap out with his right hand then, his palm catching the large fist and his fingers barely being able to grab his fist, though he still succeeded in doing so. It was only meant to give him a leverage of sorts to push the rest of his upper body back, the Junior making use of the force behind the punch allow the movement. And at the same time, of course, he would execute an attack. He would twist his left foot towards the left, his lower body being dragged in an anti-clockwise direction as Cain snapped his right foot up, letting it travel around and forward, his shin aiming to dent upon Kale's lower abdomen, right above the waist.

Kale knew the other male was much faster and he knew that taking the offense against him would leave himself open to retaliation that he might not be able to prevent. His jab had been sent on course toward Cain's face, but it wouldn't make it. Instead the male would intercept it with the palm of his right hand, and Kale would quickly feel the force of the school captain's leg slam against Kale's abdomen. The only thing he had time to do was tighten those abs and brace the blow. His body would bend forward slightly as his own retaliation would come to mind.
Instead of stumbling back like the majority of people would probably do, it was quite clear that he had a rather large frame and weight to back it up. Besides his opponent was still holding onto his hand though that would quickly change. Kale's left arm would suddenly snap down and away from Cain's body to break his grasp, as Kale's right leg would shift forward and that large frame of his would be used to attack. Seeing as he was bent over a bit, and the male would be returning his leg to the ground, Kale decided he'd throw his weight and strength into a shoulder slam.
The junior's right arm would have already been curled near his chest, and so Kale's head would drop slight as his body snapped around counter-clockwise and that beefy shoulder of his would aim to slam against Cain's chest. Not only did he plan to try and hurt him with that tactic, that right hand of his would attempt to grasp the males shirt and hold him close so that he could push forward with his momentum and aim to force the kid backwards hard, and all the way to the gym wall a few feet behind him. It surely wouldn't feel nice to have a tank crush you between his body and the wall.
