I sat in my workshop in the fallout shelter below my house at my console. I've been gone for a while and I needed to check the auto-update terminal for recent hot spots. 'More than I remember.' Knightmare said; I looked at the mask I laid to the side, he's been getting more vocal...
I shrugged it off and looked for places that would need my immediate attention. "So many to choose from, what's a guy to do?" I asked with a sigh stretching. RIINNGG!!! RIINNGG!!! "Hmm?" I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone, 'Who knows my number?' I asked myself as I looked at the ID. "Brent" I read. "What's this about?" I asked myself before pressing talk.
"Brent." I said, "Shane m'boy, how are you?" He asked, "Aside from the bullet wounds of course." "There something you want Brent?" "Is that anyway to talk to your legal gaurdian?" "Brent, I'm busy and it's getting late, so anything you need before I go back to work?" "Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about." He said, "What are you talking about Brent?" "Well, you see Shane, some new player has come into town buying a good part of my company, I need you to do your detective thing." I let out a low growl, "Brent, I'm not your corporate spy, if you believe he's corrupt tell me his name and I'll look into it when I can. Okay?" I asked agitated. "Shane, this isn't up for discussion, I need you to see him tonight, I need something on him before my company is found out to be affiliated with one of his kind." "since when did you play the race card?" "Ever since I found out he has possible ties to the Russian Mafia." "Ah..." I hate dealing with Russians, they strong as hell, and I get way too into it sometimes."
"Name?" "Strovynsk." "Give me the address where he's staying and I'll see what I can do." I told him, "That's the thing, I need you to meet with him...tonight." "Brent, I've got these things to deal with tonight," I said, "I don't know if I can deal with this-" "Shane, I'm sorry, but I must be firm about this, you will meet him tonight." "But-" "He will be appearing at a new Russian exhibit opening at the San Diego Museum of Art. I've already sent word that you will be going in my place, and you will be given a plus one option...I suggest you use it." "Why put someone in possible danger?" "Because you have no social skills." "I got out at night dressed as a guy willing to kill people and you say I have no social skills...yeah, good idea." "I'll talk to you when you've finished." Dial tone, "Nice talking to you too fake daddy o'mine." I said.
'Plus one, plus one...who can I use for a plus one?' I asked myself scrolling through the numbers on my phone. "Candi?" I asked, "...No, still watching out for her after I saw her with that drug dealer I busted, Vicki? No, she still thinks Doug will marry her...Hilde? Well...I haven't seen her in a while, and I do need a plus one." I said hitting the talk button. "God help me."

Hilde was laying around on her bed reading comic books. On her back, on her comfy bed, holding a comic book high above her; she was blocking out the light. There was a smile on her face as her off coloured red blue eyes scanned every inch of the pages, before turning to the next. She had picked up a stack of Stephen King comics from Dark Horse. She was working her way through the Captain Tripps portion of: The Stand. The are was very good, the colours were dark, to match the story of course. She was quite intrigued by the story she had read thus far. Perhaps interested enough to pick up the books. She'd probably end up getting them at the end of the month.
Yawning, she'd rest the comic on her stomach before stretching and closing her eyes. Remaining perfectly still enjoying the soundless home, her father was off at work, leaving her alone. Henry was out and pitter pattering around in a park. Well, the truth was... She just hadn't seen Henry in a while, for no apparent reason... He just kind of vanished. It was kind of sad. If you love something let it free, if it returns it was yours~ If it doesn't....
I killed it
Sighing, she'd grab the comic and drop it on the rather large pile beside her on the bed. She had been reading them ever since she returned from school. School... UGGHHHHH... It was so tiring and boring. Sadly, it wasn't something she could escape. Oh well. She'd reach for another comic book, but to her discontent there was nothing left to read. NUUUUUUUUUU ;O;.
Rolling on to her side, she'd sit up and move to the edge of the bed. Letting her legs over the edge and touch the floor. Getting up, she'd wander around her apartment, before finally finding herself staring blankly into the fridge.. All the while pondering, what to have for dinner? There wasn't many choices, but it didn't matter.
HMMMMMMM.....
*RING RING RING RING RING*
OHH SHIIIII--- Hilde heard the call of her phone, which lead her to take off into a sprint, sliding on the hard wood flooring, into her room, tripping over her bad, and hitting the bed, grabbing the phone and finally falling to the floor with a.... Beep and a thud. The person on the other end would have head the falling. "Owww... Hello?"

"That sounded like it hurt." I said with a chuckle, "Hey Hilde, it's Shane." I said with a smirk, 'Who am I smirking for?' "Listen, I know this is kind of last minute, but I was kind of hoping you would mind heading with me somewhere?"

"It did. ha ha." Hilde was smiling, even though there wasn't anyone around her. She felt a little silly, but listened to Shane speak. It was nice to hear from him again. She needed more friends DDD< and more friend time! " Where to? Will it be fun?" x3
She was a little excited, an outing on a school night? Suhweet! Plus, with a good friend. Her mind wandered to what to where and where they were going. All while waiting for an answer, she'd get up slowly and sit her arse down on the bed.
Going out~ going out~ lalala~~
Or will it be me?

"Well...a friend of mine called in a favor and wanted me to go to this museum thing he has to miss in his place, and I have little to no social skills so I was wondering if you would like to go with me and save me from what would be a big night of what I would guess would be very bad."

Ha ha ha. Hilde couldn't help but giggle at his comment. He seemed pretty social to her, perhaps it was with strangers he wasn't? Shrugging it off, she'd stand up and wander towards her dresser. " Is it an art museum?" Hilde questioned with excitement in her voice. She loved art, it was the hard work of people that were able to give people different messages and warm the heart and mind. Perhaps even fueling creativity to others!
"What sort of occasion is it? Clothing wise? I'd hate to show up to a black tie event in my shorts, stockings, and a trench coat. ha ha ha."
She continued to smile away, excited to go to the museum and see Shane.
"Also, what time~?"

"Well, yeah it's an art museum, it's the opening of some new Russian art exhibit." I explained, "I was told it was kind of a formal kind of thing, I'm going in whatever I can find. Think you can swing that?"

"sounds like fun! I can't wait!" Hilde smiled as she tried her best to restrain her enthusiasm. An art opening event with her Shane? It was bound to be awesome! She was smiling so much, it was embarrassing, thankfully she was home alone. FOR THE BEST!
"I know what I'm going to wear. ha ha ha." Hilde started rummaging through a drawer and then her wardrobe. "Where shall we meet~?...Wait. It's tonight, right?"

"Well, It's in about an hour or so, I'll come pick you up. That sound fine?" I asked. Climbing out of the shelter and making my way back to my dad's house.

"Sounds good to me! Thanks for inviting me Shane." She'd look at the mirror and then sigh. "I'll see you soon." She'd give him her address before hanging up. She was excited and dancing around her room before she began the super evening preparation.
A quick shower, hair dry, straightening hair, applying of black eyeliner, Typing hair back loosely, adding a shiney black ribbon to the pony tail. In the front it was down. her fringe framed her face, but almost covered her eyes. She had a black necklace with a red jewel around her neck. A white dress with a formal collar that she left the top three buttons undone. A lovely black jacket with semi large copper coloured buttons, and a chair looping around them. At the end of the chair was a bronze coloured crown. White thigh high stockings and of course! A charming pair of heeled belty black boots
Awwwyeaahhhh!
She was dressed to kill. Or so she thought.
Hilde looked in the mirror and did a little U-turn. All the while wondering if she was over dressed. Smiling, she'd put her house key and cell phone in the inner pockets. and her watch of choice? Gold covered pocket watch, Which sat proudly in the vest pockets, the chain in sight. Pocket watches were simply beautiful, it was a shame to hide them.
SHE WAS READY! With five minutes or less to spare. Record time, yes?

I got the address and hung up, "Brent Owes me." I said with a smile, 'Why are you smiling?' Knightmare asked, 'You have a job to do, do it.' I hated how easy I was to scorn myself just for smiling a little bit...no matter how odd it was for me to do that.
I got in my pop's house and went to the master bedroom and got clothes ready, black sports jacket, white button up, black slacks and black dress shoes. I styled my hair and grimmaced at the fact that it got longer. "Damn hair." I said.
I went to my garage and got into my black Gran Torino and drove to Hilde's house. I stopped in front of her house and sat there. "...I'm actually planning on bringing this person to where possible Russian mafia members are and planning on doing this?" I asked myself.
...Crap...
I was already out of the car moving to her front door. "Last chance to walk away." I whispered to myself and my hand went forr the doorbell. "I hate a part of me right now."

She heard the buzzer of her apartment, right away she knew. It had to be Shane. Who else would it be? Smiling away, the girl quickly locked up and ran down the hall to the elevator. She was preparing for a sneak attack. He'd be in the front room, waiting by the buzzer. There was no way she'd actually be able to attack him. It was worth a shot though! Tapping her foot, she waiting for the elevator to reach the ground floor. As the doors opened, she'd peek over and look. He was standing near the buzzer. Dressed rather nicely. Smiling, she'd run out, push open the door and glomp him. Might as well, right?
"It's so nice to see you again Shane! Thanks for bringing me along!!" She'd look at him with a big white teeth baring smile. It was difficult to curb the excitement.

"Well..." I said letting out a sigh, "I'm glad to see I still have that effect on people." I picked myself up from the ground and dusted myself off "I guess my being hit to the ground answers...." I don't know what it was but I was standing there looking at how she was dressed and... 'I honestly can't believe you.' Knightmare snapped me out of it.
"Well...you ready to go?" I asked, leading her to the car and opening the passenger door.

She was back on her feet first, looking down at Shane with a bright smile. She hadn't expected a hug back, but she still invaded his personal space. Although she did feel a little guilty about that, which of course she'd never voice it. What was the point? She had an effect on people? A part of her wondered what he meant, but the other part was just happy to be in his company. FRIEND POWA!
"Sorry about that. ha ha ha. I guess I got overly excited. ha ha ha." Her red blue eyes fell to the ground as she lowered her head. GUILT GUILT GUILT. He was serious as ever, Hilde couldn't help but wonder what he was like in a good mood, or if he was in a good mood. It was rather difficult to tell with Shane.
She nodded and followed right after him. Matching his pace, she didn't want him to wait around. There was one down side to her outfit... The fact that her shoes were new, so they hadn't been broken in. She walked normally, but she knew for sure she'd regret the shoes the next day. It didn't matter at the time. Fun first!
"Ready!" She'd laugh and get in, smiling up at Shane as he closed the door. She'd belt in and watch him as he took his seat. "It's been too long. How have you been? and what sort of shenanigan have you been up to lately? Any interesting stories to tell?" Smile. Smile.

I answered each question as best I could in order thay came, "Good, just tryin' to live from day to day, and unless you count working at a library interesting, not much." I said with a smirk, I hated lying, but it was easier than the truth. I turned the car on and began driving off, "How about you missy? Anything you'd like to tell me about?"
