Why was she pushing herself? She could easily be chilled out on the couch at David's watching some crappy ass horror flick on one of those knock off channels. Okay so yeah he would probably be pushing her to do more, because in his mind she was capable of more....But that was beside the point! She could wait around for him to boot her in the ass and get her going right?
Yeah, that would work, except for the fact that she was never one to stay down for long. She bounced back quickly, this time being the longest she had sat around and sulked in her own self pity....which it was not even really that, it was more her fear....crippling, unyeilding fear, of the outside world that kept her locked away in her room or curled up next to David whenever she got the chance.
But she knew that life was not gonna stop just because she had a bad month......Okay that was putting it lightly but yeah, fact remained that she was pushing herself for the simple fact that she wanted to get better, to be stronger, and to be more than she had been....She was not gonna do that sitting around watching tv and hiding from the world.
So here she was, at the school once more, only this time it was daylight and the place looked a lot less scary than it had the night she had snuck out to come here.
Drawing in a deep breath she let those lavender eyes scan over the students that passed by, keeping the hood of her jacket over her head, the one that read "Blaze" across the back of it, and only allowing the long strands of jet black hair to fall down the front of her shirt.
She wore her usual tank top underneath, but the jacket was something she never left home without....God forbid David wore it, cause she was so not leaving the house without it.....But then, it was her security blanket of sorts, and she was dependent upon it to get her through this mess.
Careful not to bump into any of the students as she made her way toward the school she stuffed her hands into the jacket's pockets and started walking, trying hard to keep her head down. Sure, nobody would be able to tell that she was or used to be Kev, but it did not make this any easier on her.
As she entered the school things got a lot more crowded and she found herself unknowingly pushing the sleeve of the jacket up against her face as she inched her way through the halls. She was juuuuuust about at the office, to register for classes and what not, when her little bubble of personal space was very sharply popped.
Another figure exiting the office, she guessed, came running right into her. She of course, being the smaller of the two stumbled back, her heart rate increasing and her breathing doing the same as she bit her lip and tried to recover from the panic attack setting in.
In the little collision, her hood had fallen back, revealing her delicate features, and now golden yellow eyes.....
Just breath............that was what she had to keep telling herself.....just breath..........
"Sorry....I...wasn't paying attention I guess."
Her tone was a lot less shaky than it would have been a couple weeks ago...which was good. She was more confident in herself....thank heavens for that.....
Her eyes going up to see who she had run into.........and of course.....of all people...........Jayr......no telling how many goddamn students in this school and she runs into her?
COME ON!!!

Odd proclivities.
Today was much like most other days aside from the fact that Jayr had been called into the office early morning in concurrence with her attendance and a certain malfunction in the library. Though it was wrapped up quickly and Jayr was unfortunately in a hurry back to class. Looking at the clock she gathered she could make it in time for class if she bolted without interaction. And of course, like any other time there was the concussion of bodies sending her backwards and towards the floor, her rump falling to the floor pained.
"Sorry....I...wasn't paying attention I guess."
Jayr would quickly bounce back having assumed it was Kazuya or something trying to make another pass at her. She'd grown on guard due to that moment, something about her instantly becoming stronger because of it. Fists drawn Jayr looked up realizing only that now she had to look down.
A flush of red would coat her face as she felt embarrassed, the wave of heat taking over and Jayr feeling panicked. The balled up fists would retreat away forming flat hands jutting out quickly to help her up. Her eyes swiftly darting between the girl at the floor and the clock just above her head.
Crap..... too late.
"Hey, I'm sorry no need to apologize it was all my fault I better watch where I'm going." Jayr would wrap it up in a frenzy debating now between showing up and getting a tardy or just requesting that she was sick that day. Something about the girl's position now however made her revert and question just that.
"Have I seen you around here before? Anyways, I'm Jayr."

That final question made her subconciously take a step back. Shaking her head as she twisted the sleeve of the jacket around in her fingers. Slowly her eyes were starting to fade back to their now natural lavender hue as she drew in a slightly heavy breath and forced herself to look the other girl in the eyes.
"Nope. Doubt it, first day...actually just registering heh."
Yeah she played it off very well, which was easy given the fact that in her own head Kevala had died, so there was not mistaken identity to be had. She was Ceraphine Janelle Davis and that was all there was to it.
"I am Ceraphine...though you can just call me CJ."
That would have been the part where normal people extended a hand to try and make some form of friendly gesture toward the other, buuuut not was the case here. CJ was not about to willingly touch anyone.....well anyone other than David that is.
Biting her lip, the old habit she could not shake no matter how dead her former self was.....She would stuff her hands into the pockets of her jacket once more.
"So, this school....it seems pretty hectic. Like this all the time?"
Oh yeah, she knew it was, but for the sake of faking the new girl she had to lie. Thank god she had gotten better at it. She used to not be able to lie to save her own life. But now, she understood why so many people made it into an art form.

All the Crazy firsts.
"Nope. Doubt it, first day...actually just registering heh."
Jayr would nod subconsciously agreeing with her despite her droning figure, the second she realized they'd gotten back into the trend of small talking again Jayr's cheeks would rise up into that politicians welcoming smile again, although hers was much more livid with excitement. Partially because she was a good actress and partially because she really did enjoy it.
"I am Ceraphine...though you can just call me CJ."
"Oh good another interesting name." Jayr would giggle lightly again just lifting the spirit of this meeting itself finding that they each had fairly uncommon names was a basis for a joke or even just a platform to jump off of onto the next subject criteria.
"So, this school....it seems pretty hectic. Like this all the time?"
"Only on days where I'm answering for mayhem." Another short joke, "Otherwise I'd think the halls are relatively ablaze."
Jayr would say with a small influction to her voice before taking a look around at where they were. "Hey this is kinda a bad place to be, considering I just became a human missile onto you I'd think moving towards a more open space would be good."
With a quick pace Jayr would seemingly skip with a graceful walk towards the nearest door before gliding through it taking to hold it open for the girl who she could only guess was unstable judging by her appearance. Not because she was uncoordinated, or ugly, contrary to all of those in fact she was the appearance of a goddess but the fact that she seemed to watch herself from the 3rd perspective and judge her movements like touching. It was odd.

Annnnnnd the meeting continued. So just like a good, NEW student would she would follow along, silent as they made way to the room and then slipping into the room, making sure to avoid touching the girl at all costs. Once out of the hall and away from the hustle and bustle of the other students she relaxed her grip on the jacket and would in turn find something to lean up against.
"Yeah so, anyways, I think I will do fine here. Just gotta work out a few personal..........kinks...heh."
Yeah like the fact she hated being touched. That could cause some issues later if not fixed, buuuuut she would deal with that when the time came. For now she would take her hands from her pocket, pulling the sleeves back from her hands and using one to push her hair out of her face.
As she leaned up against something she would brush her tongue across her lower lip slowly and continue to let her eyes meet with those of the other girl.
"So, who exactly is in charge of this place? I mean, with this many students there has to be some form of authority right?"
Yeah, innocent as ever. New girl....just think new girl.....A bit more comfortable now that there was nobody else around, she was able to be a bit more herself, which was still not as perky and bubbly as little miss sunshine here, but yeah...CJ could tell that a lot of it was just a show.....She knew the girl...she was a showman...for lack of a better term. She brought forth the image needed to sell the product, whatever that might be. In this case....the school.
One of the many reasons she had left her the title. She was capable of so much more than Kev ever was, or at least that was how she saw it.
None the less she would continue to lean there, knowing full and well what room she was in and where each door lead....Yet she was gonna have to remember to play stupid...or else she was soooo gonna get caught.

Something peculiar.
Jayr would bounce quickly deciding to take a seat, at this point they were settled in an area that could most readily be described as the lounge. Despite not being a cafeteria or the library it could be just about described as either. Jayr settled into a lounge chair like she had owned it, her legs readily crossing to look very businesslike. She was still a bit on edge, not exactly of 'friends' terms with this girl but she was optimistic nonetheless.
"Yeah so, anyways, I think I will do fine here. Just gotta work out a few personal..........kinks...heh."
Jayr wouldn't exactly understand what CJ had meant by that only the questionable considerations towards a deeper insight. Again she didn't exactly know what to think of this girl, She had familiarities to a past person but otherwise she was good enough with faces to tell that she'd never seen this girl in her life.
"So, who exactly is in charge of this place? I mean, with this many students there has to be some form of authority right?"
A worrisome and considering thought crossing her mind, body on edge suggesting the simple paranoia of obvious measures that the girl was stronger and probably more knowledgeable than Jayr would have first considered.
"Well I am," Jayr would start to speak, a wry grin about her, "You are, he is." She'd point out another student, " That wry and very dangerous smile suggestively conclusive with a very vindictive manner,
"Its all of our responsibility to keep order."
If she wasn't going to give away information than neither was Jayr, at least until Jayr had a bit of juicy information to use at her disposal. She was a smart cookie.

To the reply she could do nothing but let the corner of her lip turn up into a little grin. Though she just nodded and leaned back a bit further against the wall, yes that was what she had come up against.....Her hands once more taking comfort in the confines of the jacket as she looked about the area, enjoying this place even before she had left school.
"Ah, power to the people and all such nonsense. I understand that, respect it actually, though a lot is to be said about it when the masses are less than worthy of such power."
She would then fall silent. Was she gonna play dumb just for the sake of pretending she was not who she really was? No....she was better than that, and she took pride in her intellect.
"But I am sure that everyone has the power to change, if given the right tools and the right opportunities."
She stopped there, thinking about herself in this regard though she did not speak it. She had been given her chance and she hoped to make the best of it. She wanted more than her life had been and she hoped that somehow that could happen.
She watched the girl, every move every look, it was all breathing confidence, something that was both good and yet that tinge of paranoia hit CJ like a bad smell making her fidget a bit uncomfortably.
No, she was not here for that fucking title......But apparently somebody was constantly watching her back.....Hid it well, for the most part, but yeah, CJ knew better.
"Well should be interesting just the same to see how a school runs with so many people given the empowerment to change things."
Yeah, she had wanted the same thing, but with most of the people she met, she had seen it was not the best idea in the world......but she had tried.....it was all she could really say for herself.

Through the looking glass
"Ah, power to the people and all such nonsense. I understand that, respect it actually, though a lot is to be said about it when the masses are less than worthy of such power."
Jayr bit her lip, the recesses of which turning a shade of white briefly as she did so, again there was something in the way the girl spoke that reminded her a bit of Kevala. It wasn't the fact that the two were related in looks or personalities but rather their outlooks.
Both so bleak, it was rather depressing, though a part of Jayr understanding a bit why it was the way it was. At least to a degree she did so. It was hard being the center of attention, so much focus on you everyone's hopes aspirations and often times the blame. It sent you to a bad place.
"Nonsense?" Jayr would feel herself blurb out almost defensively almost as if CJ had stabbed her with an imaginary blade.
"But I am sure that everyone has the power to change, if given the right tools and the right opportunities."
A part of Jayr didn't believe her, not for a second. She simply sat there biting at her lip until it grew numb and subjugated herself to settling herself upright, a quick jerking motion to her frame that'd bring her shoulders upright and hands down to straighten out her pants.
"Well should be interesting just the same to see how a school runs with so many people given the empowerment to change things."
"Is it not the same fear you have with one person entitled to the powers of change?" Jayr would reply simply, she'd never been one with the tenacity towards a tyrant. If anything that was far worse than thirty with the power. Thing was, the most powerful thing was an idea, sung into the minds of others it became far more impenetrable. Her Student Council, it'd never die so long as there were those to hold it up.

It was so hard not to giggle at the way the girl got so defensive. Honestly it was like every time you challenged her dreams, you were secretly giving the girl a wedgie. Yes...her panties were in a twist and right up her ass, or at least that was the emotions she shot off like wildfire. But instead of reacting to such, CJ would just hold up her hands in a mock gesture of surrender.
"Simmer down, I was simply stating my opinion. Everyone is entitled to such. Is that not what this little talk about everyone having a say all about?"
She raised her brow. In theory, if everyone in the school had a say so in how things were run, then there were bound to be those who had their doubts. Were their opinions any less valid just because they did not conform to that of the girl leading this little crusade?
"I hope that it works out in the end. I really do. I think that people can change if they are given the right tools. I just am stating that I have yet to see such. Does not mean it is impossible."
She smiled, a genuine, soft little smile to try and sooth the little fiesty kitty from coming out of that chair with her hissy claws drawn. Honestly, CJ could care less....she was here to go to school, and anything else that came along would come along at its own pace. She had no desire to throw a kink into anyones hopes or dreams.
"I agree that one person can cause just as much damage as a group. It all depends on the mind set and the way they handle the power they are given."
She had seen too much and heard too much from people in her life to trust anyone, be it an individual or a group, with anything less than the betterment of themselves and nothing more. They hid it behind falsities such as "betterment of the people" or "for the greater good" but in the end, they were the one who would benefit from it the most, they just deluded themselves into thinking otherwise mostly.
"I am just here to go to school, try and make some friends, and make it through the rest of my years here without too much trouble. Doubt that will be possible, or at least not as easy as I would wish, but it is my goal. Nothing more........nothing less."
She stuffed her hands back into the pocket of her jacket and ran her tongue slowly over her lips, not about to comment on the girls little actions that showed her irritation and defensiveness. Nope, she was just gonna keep that to herself...no need to point out the obvious. Hehe

Giving yourself away.
Jayr had been nowhere near that obvious. She knew that much. Biting at the insides of her lips she confined herself within her own frame of thoughts considering the options. Jayr was definitely on edge though and with that she could not proceed, at the very least she'd done this with other people but something about this one was different. Her entire personality seemed bent on negativity which was giving off an almost all encompassing vibe.
"Are you sure I don't know you?"
Jayr would place a finger on her lips quiting the pursuit of chats such as politics. There'd always been such disagreements and she didn't expect anyone to understand her much less another apparently highly opinionated girl. So she'd drop it and proceed once more to the offensive in her own manner.
"Because you're very, and I mean VERY familiar."

CJ just looked at her, no worry or concern in her eyes as she shook her head and tilted her head just slightly.
"Yeah, pretty sure you don't know me. I just got here. In fact just here to register...in case I forgot to mention that."
She smiled, that genuine on the outside, not so genuine on the inside smile, but then that was just how she was.....Reaching up, her fingers started to idly twist about the ends of one of those long strands of black hair, eyes going about the room, making sure where everything was and anyone else that might be there.
As she finally turned to look back to the girl she would continue to hold her smile on those lips, not showing the least bit of unease at the way this girl seemed to be putting pieces of a puzzle together in her mind.
"Oh come on...I am surely not the first girl to have such opinions? I mean honestly. I really hope it works out, I do. I am just saying I see both sides of the issue...thats all..."
She giggled softly, shaking her head and then leaning back further into the wall. She was actually quite relaxed in that moment, and that was a good thing, it made pulling off the new girl act all that much more fun and somewhat easier.
With a little sigh, she reached up, her hand tucking some hair behind her ear as she cast her eyes up to the ceiling.
"Either way, I will be very interested to see how it all turns out. Change is always good."
She spoke this as upbeat as she could. She could tell the girl was feeding off her negativity, sooo time time to change it up just a tad. Sure, Kev had never been the best at being perky, but CJ could learn if she had to........whatever it took right?

Paranoia?
Jayr found herself climbing up the walls within her own thoughts. She was rarely wrong with judgement and felt a bit embarrassed having said so, the rouge tint of color rising towards her cheeks as the girl came back with a response, not too defensive but maybe paranoia dictated her judgment this time around. With a sobering breath Jayr would inhale, her hands rising to her cheeks to cool her figure and return it to the tan figure it'd once been.
"Yes, I'm sorry I'm usually good with remembering people, maybe you just remind me of an old face."
Jayr would smile laughing lightly before recomposing herself and returning back on subject with the next frame of thought. Her future decisions, that was right. A bit of her was in fact concerned with the logistics of it all; no government in history had ever succeeded forever so Jayr had to think of the type that'd hold out for a long time with the most benefits and least amount of corruption.
They were already a dictatorship so long as she was still Captain and without a reign of pillars at her side. What she was aiming for was a council of checks and balances. Something that'd make this a contradicting sway of power.
"Well I was thinking something that would resemble a share of power, not anarchy like you originally said but some mix of power like two or three branches of pillars that were from different points of views like Liberals and Conservatives."
Jayr squinted having used that analogy to compare them considering this was on a much smaller scale, but to her thats how she made sense of things.

She just shook her head, she would not let it bother her that the girl had some hint of recognition in her as to the way she acted. Even if she accused her of being who she really was, CJ would just deny it and ask for proof. Something that might be hard to do.
But as she stood there, she listened to the girl's ideals and would raise her brow just slightly. It was an interesting enough plan, but it was one that was sure to cause more trouble than good when it all came down to it. Something that CJ kept to herself.......
For the most part.......
"Ah good old politics....Though I have to say it is a bit complicated and perhaps over the top for a school, but if it works then more power to it. I suppose now it is just a matter of establishing it and finding those who are capable both mentally as well as physically. Should not be too hard."
Honest to god she was not being sarcastic, she was actually being honest. There were plenty of students who could use their intellect and charm to get people to do as was needed, to settle the masses, and there were definitely more than enough who had the ability to use their fists where all else failed.
Would be an interesting little game to observe. One that honestly CJ would not fit in and one she did not know she really wanted to. Things would get bad, they always did, before they got better. Yet she would grab her popcorn and sit on the sidelines like a good little spectator and just watch it all unfold.
