he muttered, getting up from his seat and walking over to the door. He took a small drink from the vanilla bean, savoring the great taste of freedom. Just as he exited the coffee shop, he stopped for a moment. Out of nowhere, he thrust his hip to the right, then looked as if it were controlling him, telling him which way to go. Have you ever seen anyone do the moonwalk and the robot, and drink coffee simultaneously? Me neither. He seemed to be rather excited to escape the hellish gaze of the stranger-with-nothing-to-do-but-stare. Now, his dancing escapades would end soon as he approached the cross walk. Not because he just realized everyone could see him dancing, but because.. Well, he almost hit someone. Again. He came to a not-so-literal screeching halt, lightly bumping into the person. Of course, lightly was better than the full thing. "Hey, uh.. Sorry."Yet again. Idiot..[/ul]

She was distracted, nothing was new there, Kirsty's aviator sunglasses slid down her slender nose as she leafed through a reference book for Art. She dyed her hair yet again, that would make three times in a month, she was slacking.
Draw attention much?
Do I need a running commentary on my life? If I did I'd buy the DVD.
You can't keep blocking me out. You know what'll happen if you do...
"Not going to happen." She muttered under her breath, running her fingertips backwards along the parting in her hair, out of her face.
It was sunny again... as per usual in San Diego. Her thigh length, Hello Kitty vest clung to her every curve and her black skinny jeans stretched with every step, her black biker boots emphasising every footfall.
Uhh... Look out!
Kirsty glanced up, just a few seconds too late as she came into contact with someone's muscular back. Her glasses pressed painfully into her nose, she stepped back and pulled them away, rubbing the bridge.
Too late...
"Hey, uh.. Sorry."
"Don't sweat it. I'm kinda used to it by now." She smiled.

By that, he was referring to the fact that she was used to it. That meant people prolly didn't see here. That wasn't good, right? Yeah, probably. His left hand would rise, coming to the back of his head, scratching it a little and ruffling his hair. "Why would you be used to that?" Of course, not a great question. He didn't really know what to say. Usually, bumpage, introductions, TALKING! Now it was bumpage, stalling.. what now?[/ul]

"Why would you be used to that?"
Nice one genius, now what?
Shut up! I'm thinking.
"I... Uh... I'm used to being knocked around... Oh! I didn't mean like knocked around, I meant like knocked ar-..." Kirsty trailed off, her brain on overdrive, struggling to piece a sentence together, it could have been his intimidating presence or it could have been the fact that she lacked the proper people skills to converse with strangers. "I'm Kirsty."
Smooth...
She hiked her bag further up her shoulder, clearing her throat. Glancing down at the pavement, she willed it to open up and swallow her, she prayed and prayed but the mouth of the ground didn't appear and she was left standing there looking like an idiot.
You're an idiot.

The almighty truth be told, he sort of was, and it wasn't exactly a normal name. He told Jayr that, actually. I think. I'm not sure, so disregard that. His right hand would extend itself for the common form of greeting; the handshake. He wasn't quite sure if she'd do the same, but if she didn't he'd sure end up lookin' like a dunce. "So, Kirsty. Whatcha doin' 'round these parts?" Yeah, he seriously talks like that. He's a bear who robomoonwalked down the street while drinkin' his vanilla bean. Don't question his sanity."[/ul]

As of late, Kirsty had become less and less prone to physical contact with people she didn't trust. She thought it was one of her more endearing qualities, mystery.
Shake the man's hand! He's gonna think you're crazy! Well... crazier.
"Nice to meet you." Reaching out she shook his hand, a small smile on her face as she struggled to compose herself. Her slightly insane counterpart had been kept at bay for a long time, her self control was waning.
"So, Kirsty. Whatcha doin' 'round these parts?"
"I go to school here, I moved here about a month or so ago. I came to get a book for my art project." Holding up the book she'd been reading, she motioned to the picture of the Sistine Chapel that she had been admiring then placed it in her bag. "Have I seen you somewhere before?"
No, she wasn't using some cheesy pick up line, she was too pre-occupied to try and pick up some random guy on the street, especially one Mekiel's size.
Yeah right.
Oh fuck off! I'm serious, he's familiar.

In his imagination, he was scratching his long, flowing beard trying to remember her. Of course, as such, he didn't exactly 'listen' to her when she mentioned the book. She just held it up so he nodded, so as to avoid seeming like an ass. "So, did you ever live in New York..? Go to #552?" Was it her? Mayhaps, mayhaps not. It was hard to tell, what with a foggy memory and all. Well, not exactly foggy, but focused around the great events that had taken place over the past five days. Yet, she did seem really familiar. But maybe she just asked her question as a pick up line..? What if she was some sick pervert like the Todd from 'Scrubs' and said "I'm pretty sure I saw you in my pants once!" That would be horrible! But wait. She didn't seem like that. Okay. Bullet never left the gun. Thank God.[/ul]

"So, did you ever live in New York..? Go to #552?"
"That's it!" Kirsty's eyes widened in recognition, she'd seen him in #552, she leaned against the nearby lamp post and chewed her bottom lip, she was sure that she had never spoken to him before but she'd seen him plenty of times.
"That's pretty weird..." She commented, he was the second person from #552 that she had seen since she got here. Sure there must have been some connection between the schools but the chances of meeting two people from your former school like that was one in five hundred.
Aren't we suspicious today?
D'ya blame me?! We are being followed... Correction, you're being followed!
No, correction YOU are being followed! They don't know I exist remember? Anyway, he probably is nothing to do with them.
Kirsty's inner war was cut short as she realised that to him, she was standing there grimacing for no reason at all, she straightened herself up and cleared her throat.

Head, butt, two comPLETEly different areas. Still, he'd seem like an ass if he offered to take her to the bathroom. An ass, and really creepy. Dear God that'd be weird. "So tell me, what've you been up to these last thirty days?" Subject change? Hell yeah! He was good at that! Kind of. It'd help ease the situation, at the very least. Though, he was truly curious. He hadn't seen her in a while, but it wasn't like they'd ever really spoke. Now, however, she was one of the few people he'd recognized. What're the chances?[/ul]

"I've got some advil for ya, if your head hurts."
I wish it were that easy buddy...
"Nah, it's fine. Just a minor headache. Thanks." Kirsty politely declined, knowing that her problems were far more severe than painkillers could help.
You could try cutting your head off...
I die, you die bitch!
Ooooh. Why are you arguing with yourself?
"Why indeed?" Kirsty spoke softly to herself, her predicament making her massage the bridge of her nose, the migraine growing. Releasing her head she looked up at Mekiel.
"So tell me, what've you been up to these last thirty days?"
"Uh, just easing myself into my new life here."

Now, he spoke with nothing but a happy tone. His life was going great, recently. He could never hope for better, but who's to say it won't happen anyway. The thought forced a smile onto his face, too great to hide. Hell, it'd get better with friends around! Why not make some?
"Well, if you're not too busy, I'd like to make up for bumping into ya. Whataya say?"
Of course, it wasn't like a date. Those were reserved for that special someone. But, he did feel a bit bad about bumping into her. He'd been clumsy lately, and that wasn't exactly a good thing.[/ul]

"Well, if you're not too busy, I'd like to make up for bumping into ya. Whataya say?"
"Um.. sure, what do you have in mind?" Kirsty tucked her hair behind her ears and smiled. She had Roy, so the last thing she wanted right now was a boyfriend.
Roy...
She missed him, that much was very true. It had been a while since she'd seen him but she had been occupying herself in a desperate attempt to calm herself down.
Thinking back to the last time she saw him, she was leaving him in bed asleep and she was leaving for her "date" with Cain.

he have in mind? Hell, not much, really. He always said 'let me make it up to you' to be nice. He never thought about how, though. Funny, ain't it? No, not really. =/ "Well, how 'bout we go somewhere and.. I buy you somethin'?" Top o' the head kinda thing. Of course, the last thing he planned to happen was actually make this a date. Hell, he didn't plan it at all. Charlie was there, and, well, Charlie was.. great. Still, back to the topic: He had to make up for bumping into Kirsty and he found it common courtesy to buy someone something if you caused them even the slightest bit of misfortune. Weird? Yeah, kind of. But don't judge.[/ul]
