Reira hadn't been boding well with the fact that Kale had disappeared on her. She supposed he didn't want to develop anything further than friendship with her since he had this defensive wall around himself that only Elena seemed to get through. There was a feeling of distance and now he was gone. THen again she didn't say anything when she left to go to Ukraine to visit her granpa. Reira just hoped that he Kale left on a good note and had a good impression of her before he disappeared.

Walking down the street with torn shorts, flipflops, tank top, hair up in a ponytail with aviators on, Reira was just relaxing and soaking up the sun. It was good to relax and after a busy all nighter and morning's work at the studio doing hair and make-up for a music video shoot Reira was more than happy to be free enjoying the good weather. Stress is never a good thing.

It wasn't long before Reira was distracted by the pretty dresses in the windows. She was just walking and staring to her left into the stores until... BAM...hit by a truck! Well not a truck but someone that was definitely as big or bigger...no bigger than Kale. Reira fell back onto her bum because of her light weight and because of shock. Her glasses clattered as they fell on the side of the sidewalk.

"Oof!"

"Oh, I'm uh.. I'm really sorry."

"Huh? Oh?" Reira looked up at the giant towering before her as her honey brown eyes widened in shock.

"No problem...wow you're really big." The comment slipped from her mouth with a wide smile before she added "no offense."

[/b] turning around, or it was God's way of saying 'Ha, shmuck! Ya fell fer it!' The latter would.. suck.

"No need to flatter me, really. And I'm very, very sorry. I wasn't actually paying attention, and I.. uh.. well, sorry."

Not much for what to say when the actual confrontation occurs. Still, hopefully she'd take the hand and he'd help her up onto her feet. Damn, I'm an idiot. These thoughts would be quite loud to anyone with the uncanny ability to read minds.[/color][/ul]

"No need to flatter me, really. And I'm very, very sorry. I wasn't actually paying attention, and I.. uh.. well, sorry."

Reira was glad that the guy thought her comment was flattering, afterall if she had accidentally suceeded in insulting such a buff guy she wasn't sure she'd get out of a heated argument alive and kicking! Reira was surprised with all the apologies the big guy was spewing. Reira definitely warmed up after that, he gave off the impression of a carebear! Taking his hand, Reira beamed flashing him a pearly white smile as she braced herself for the force that would help her up. Soon enough she'd feel the quick pick-up.

"Thanks...and I'm sorry too I wasn't exactly paying attention either..." Reira paused before she met his gaze with a stern look about to crack a small joke, "Now what's your name mister...just so I can go to my insurance company and hope for some cash back for my injuries."

Reira placed her hands on her hips and her glossed lips pursed into a fine line as she pretended to look upset which was, to her surprise and discomfort, drawing attention to the duo.

Sounds weird, huh? Well, the fault was all his since he was daydreaming while moving. That's bad for tanks to do, they could run over their team. He would hand her back her glasses, cocking a brow at her remark. Despite the tone and look, he could tell she was joking. That was a mighty relief. Like, seriously, it lifted his spirits.

"Well, in that case, my name's Greg Kinear," who he was obviously.. not. "But, say, if that weren't the case.. My name would be Mekiel, and I'd quite like to know your name."[/color] He certainly had a way with words. No, not really. He was just big and his grammar was surprising for a bear.[/color][/ul]

[Reira]

Reira's serious expression broke into an amused one as her lips curled up slightly on the sides before her pearly whites were revealed once more. She took an instant liking to the male before her due to his easygoing nature and despite the rough and tough appearance he was definitely a carebear. Then again, Reira was still a little apprehensive about trusting people 100% but that doesn't stop her from getting to know someone!

"Mekiel huh? I'm Reira, it's nice to meet you."

She'd retrieve her glasses from his hand with a small 'thank you' before placing the glasses atop her head.

"So what brings you out on this lovely day, because if you're not too busy I wouldn't mind having you as company"

Even though Reira was just enjoying the weather she was actually heading to a certain establishment...for ice cream! She wasn't exactly flirting with the guy, she was just being friendly and treating him as any other person even though she did think he was cute. Reira always had a thing for tall, buff guys even though it would kill her to admit it.

Shyness. No one expected that from such a burly man, that was for sure. Though, he really couldn't help it. "I'm not busy, actually, and I'd like to take you up on that."[/b] He spoke with a grin, almost positive he didn't seem like a horse's ass yet. His hands would fall to the safety of his pockets and his shoulders would roll back a tad. His right hand would shortly leave the safety of the pocket, making the previous motion quite redundant, but his arm would outstretch, gesturing a 'Let's go.'

When the walking would begin, the big oaf didn't really know what to say. Of course, he didn't know anything about Reira except her name, but that's besides the point, right? Right. So, he just tried an average conversation starter.

"So, Reira. Tell me a bit about yourself."

Yay!

Reira wasn't going to be a loner and she wasn't going to be some friendless girl at an icecream parlour. She was still fairly new to the city and the only people she interacted with disappeared on her during her leave! So, here's to new social networking attempts! Mekiel gestured for them to move along and she nodded promptly following after him before catching up to his pace. It was then Reira realized that he was a good foot taller than her.

"So, Reira. Tell me a bit about yourself."

"Well, I'm still kinda new to this town despite being here longer than the new school captain...I go to PHS 774 by the way. I'm always out and about the city for jobs and personal matters. I'm a stylist! I work for film, photo and music shoots as a hair and make-up stylist but only once or twice in a few months since jobs are scarce and travel expenses aren't included. Mmm.. I love animals...sports and music. Yeah. Music. I'm the type to sing in the shower and go dance like an idiot when there's a good song on the radio."

Reira paused thinking she rambled on long enough. It was just the gist of it, besides she wasn't the type nor should anyone be, to ramble on about their private life and childhood traumas.

"How about you? Still in school?"

[/b] setback in their relationship. So, he'd probably wait to do that for a little while.

"#774? I go there, too. Transferred three days ago." He actually wondered why it was that he hadn't seen her in his first day, but he realized that his first was spent trying to impress Jayr and the second trying to impress Charlie, and that one he spent like, an hour at school. So, the wondering stopped.

"Well, I, myself, am a musician of sorts. I play lotsa things, drums, guitar, flute (though I usually don't tell people that), and almost anything musical. I'm also an artist, as in, I paint things. I don't look like a painter though, do I? I, too, like music and sing in the shower. Hell, I sing in public. Though, my voice isn't exactly great. I dance quite a lot, and -- I'm talking too much, huh?"

Weird! Reira wondered why she hadn't seen the guy at school. He was definitely someone that would catch people's eye, besides the height, but the extremely amiable exterior that he carried would've drawn Reira to him right from the start! Either way she'd make sure to catch him at school and hang out during lunch or between classes now.

"Wow, So basically still fresh meat. Luckily 774 isn't exactly violent despite the rumours that I've heard."

Reira listened to him introduce himself and talk about his talent and hobbies and couldn't help but be impressed. He pretty much noted that he could play any type of instrument out there. That was definitely impressive, and Reira could not even begin to imagine Mekiel playing a harp or the triangle. The image was almost comical yet she respect was all she had for him despite the inner giggles.

Reira was pleasantly surprised to find that their hobbies complimented each other and she made a note to self that she must ask him to draw a portrait of her one time.

"Impressive...!! Now you can't get out of having to draw me in the ice cream parlour. I demand a portrait!" Reira said as she reached out for his hand and pulled him towards the establishment once she caught sight of the sign.

She suddenly felt full of energy and she couldn't help but feel happy to have met someone she could most potentially call a good friend. Her tiny hand took his large one in the small jog towards the shop, it was a short journey. Once they reached the building she promptly pulled him in and let the aray of ice cream flavors blast their mind with their fabulous color.

He scratched the back of his head lightly as they would walk. Suddenly, he'd feel a tug at his arm and his eyes would widen. "Wait, what now?" An impromptu portrait. At an ice cream parlor. Impromptu! That's like, random! Totally not the prognosticated situation! Oh well, it couldn't actually be too bad, right? It was a chance to practice his art skills.

"Well, I.. I guess."

The two would arrive shortly in the ice cream parlor, and the place smelled like vanillacaramelchocolatestrawberry and more. It was. Delicious.

"Alrighty. Well, I'mma go ahead and get.. Chocolate swirl.. I guess. What would you like? I'll pay."

He pulled his wallet from his back pocket and took out a twenty. A chocolate swirl alone was five dollars. FIVE. The place was somewhat pricey. Still, he had at least a thousand in there, so he wasn't going to complain.

I can't keep thinkin' about her beauty. That'd be bad for me an' Charlie.. God, I'm a douche. He shook the feeling off rather quickly.

"You know, I uh.. I don't exactly have paper on me."

Reira knew he would be hesitant to show his skill or at least feel a little shy about it, afterall he didn't exactly seem like the arrogant type that showed off. Mekiel also didn't seem like one to brag and not be able to back up his talent. Either way Reira was sure that she would love whatever style he drew in.

"Alrighty. Well, I'mma go ahead and get.. Chocolate swirl.. I guess. What would you like? I'll pay."

Eh!?

Reira was all about chivalry and gentlemen acts but sometimes she just couldn't help but feel so guilty! It just didn't feel right for someone to treat her to icecream. The gesture was all too kind. She appreciated it but Reira was more used to paying her own share even though she was told that guys hated it when girls offered.

"I'm all for the Banana Fudge, but, please, you don't have to pay for me!" Reira would say as she'd hold both her hands out in front of her as if creating distance and some kind of wall between them would make them more like strangers so that he wouldn't pay.

Whichever way it went Reira would be happy with it. If Mekiel ended up forcing his bill into the cashier's hand Reira would thank him profusely.

"You know, I uh.. I don't exactly have paper on me."

"MMhmm, that's why Imma ask for..." Reira hopped over to the cashier, leaving her ice cream cup on the table before returning with the necessary items, "this!"

Reira handed him a few pens and a typical A4 sized paper.

"Is this okay?"

[/b] She wasn't paying. He wasn't going to allow it. He used his great size to hold her back and handed the cashier a twenty, didn't bother to take the little bit of change, and grinned. "You see, I make it a point not to let people I cause bodily harm to pay for themselves." Granted it was a small amount of bodily harm, it was bodily harm nonetheless. He couldn't help but laugh, and went to the table with their ice cream goodness.

At the mention of a lack of supplies, she oh so graciously took off. Aaannd returned with supplies. Damn. There was no way out of this. He'd draw her, but not quite yet. Maybe in a few minutes. When she started eating, he'd draw, just so it wasn't the basic 'smiling' portrait.

"This is fine. Thank you for putting me on the spot," he'd say sarcastically. It was nice, having someone who appreciated his talents. Talents.. talents? Not really. Right?[/color][/ul]

[Reira]

Reira's jaw would be left hanging when she had to fight for to pay. Oh no he wasn't! But he was! Reira would struggle to get to the cashier but everytime she'd shuffle a little to the right, or a little to the left Mekiel would block her and move her out of the way until he finally managed to pay.

"This is fine...

Rei took her ice cream cup in hand before dipping the plastic pink spoon into the creamy goodness that is banana fudge. Oooh, delicious ice cream, especially on a hot summer's day. Reira could feel heaven in her mouth as she kept the spoon in her mouth and let a smile form at the same time.

"Mmmmm. Yum...!" she'd say as she'd pull the spoon out.

"Thank you for putting me on the spot,"

His voice was dripping with sarcasm but Reira only wrinkled her nose and stuck her tongue out at him. It was his own fault for mentioning what he was good at, so take that, hah! Reira brimmed with pride over her victory even though it wasn't much of a battle to begin with...plus she lost the battle to the cashier!

And yet without a second's notice Reira would scoop another spoonful of ice cream and pop it in Mekiel's mouth before he finished his sentence.

"Try it!" Reira would cheer.

Yeah, she was weird, a bit eccentric and very open. Where some people would view it as an indirect kiss, Reira would pay no heed to it. Friends are like family.

The spoon was shoved into his mouth, and the ice cream was.. delicious. Thankfully an 'indirect kiss' didn't count as cheating. He'd gulp the ice cream down and repeat himself, this time in a way understand by the human race. Wait, no. He didn't. That' be pointless. It was his trademark thing, but he refrained. In fact, he found this the perfect time to start drawing. A real moment, and not just a grin. I already said that, I know. Shuddap. >.>

"So, Reira," he'd say after devouring a spoonful of his chocolate swirl. "If you could have one position in life right now, like Queen, Princess, President, Garbage Lady, Iunno, anything. What would it be?" Why ask such an odd question..? Why not?[/ul]
