A steady beat was provided as the rain never once halted against the windows. There was no breeze to drive the rain in every direction, but enough rain that outside looked like a wash out. It could hardly be seen any more than a scant few inches in front of one's face and Asher had no desire to go out in any of this. So here she sat, after classes and clubs and the like had drawn out for the day and there were only teachers and a few die hard students left.
She sighed as she drummed her fingers against the windowsill, watching the steady downpour as the sky darkened, lit up by the occasional flash of lightening and broken rumbles of thunder. The storm would hit later tonight, but for now it was just steady torrential rains, soaking everything in a matter of seconds, if it was still dry, however unlikely that was.
Running a hand through loose hair, violet eyes turned to take in the empty and quiet halls before she pushed off the windowsill, a huge hoodie hiding her gender, footfalls silent since she wore boots today through the rain. One could possibly guess she was female from the jeans she wore, but without seeing her face hiding in the hood, it was questionable.
Deciding to wander through the halls, she passed by classrooms like a ghost, silent and never pausing to look into any of them entirely. She kept her footsteps as quiet as she could, wandering through the corridors, only jumping once when a particularly loud clap of thunder echoed, shaking everything. It was only a matter of time before the power went out, she thought.
Shivering slightly at the thought, she did not want to be stuck here in the pitch black with who knows what else here. Asher was not a fighter, not in any sense of the word, but she was a thinker and a lover. She was smart, when she chose to reveal it, but she never did often despite acing all of her tests, she didn't really hand in homework, which confused some of her teachers and others didn't care as long as she passed.
Shaking her head to free her thoughts, she wandered deeper into the school corridors, away from the entrances, wondering who all was still here at this hour, if anyone.

Late night catch up
While the Thunder and Lightning played about outside the halls of PHS #774, Jayr sat alone in the library, though there were other people here and there spread about the room everyone was silent, distant, and alone themselves. So she was very much on her own at this point. Die hard student, she wouldn't call herself such she was lucky enough to be called a student at all. As far as classes went she zoned in and out doodling ideas in her personal little notebook thinking of creative vents of her energy. As far as testing went she aced them, homework was anything but an existence unless it counted for a fair amount of points.
Now was one such time, she had to prepare a speech outline for her history class, struggling between the ideals of the Greek and Roman Gods. It wasn't really hard mind you seeing as she was kind of a nerd for the useless knowledge that would eventually be made into action packed movies that completely devoided from actual tales of Odysseus.
Scribbling quickly at a pad of paper in a text one could only describe as her doter's handwriting, Jayr would speed through paralleling the concept of planetoid names in early culture right as the thunder struck and the lights went out.
A collective gasp in the room seemed to sound as shuffling was heard here and there as Jayr stood from her seat. Breathing was picked up a bit nervously as she tried to think of how to wander out of this place. She hadn't exactly planned for this and that distressed her.

She was near the back of the library when the lights flickered and went out. Pausing and arching an eyebrow, she sighed, pulling out her phone and using the light to look around, seeing who she was near. It seemed there was a pretty girl near her and papers scattered everywhere. A short scream was heard from another girl farther into the library.
Asher sighed and pushed the hood back as she let her hair fall free, tied back in a tight braid. Chewing on her lower lip, she crossed her arms as the back glow began to fade before flickering out. A few flashes of lightening lit everything up in flashes as she let her eyes adjust, able to make out a few shapes as people began to move. Pity there were no emergency lights to kick on right now, that would be useful.
"Shouldn't a school like this have back up lights or something? I mean at least the ones in Hawaii had them," she said, muttering mostly to herself. Rolling her eyes skyward, she sighed and shoved her hands into the center pocket of her hoodie, scuffing her shoes on the floor.
"Hell, I may as well find someone attractive to take advantage of and fuck while I'm bored," she said. "I need a new puppet anyways."
Yeah, she talked to herself quite a bit when the mood struck, such as now.

The Voices?
To start Jayr wasn't crazy but she was sure at times everyone had their moments of insanity, and times like those called for a catalyst. The catalyst she was referring to in fact was when the lights had quickly died out. Jayr didn't know where to go from here she was pretty sure there were a few people still in the library at least thats what she thought when she sat down though. Looking at her phone she'd come to realize she'd been here far later than she could actually have imagined.
The sounds of noise behind her caught attention as Jayr would spiral up quickly knocking aside her chair in the brief moment looking avidly at the dark for some kind of expression in return to greet her.
"Hello? Is there someone there?"
She'd call out into the dark expecting some sort of reply, from a librarian, another student somebody other than the simple conclusion that she was loosing it.
If nobody answered in a few moments Jayr would simply edge back towards a wall for safety, "Somehow I must be loosing it..."

Asher blinked, turning to look around her, not that she could really see, but she could hear the movements around her. She waited a moment, debating how to answer before shrugging and going ahead to answer.
"Aloha? I'm Asher," was all she said, staying still before flipping open her phone, using the small glow to illuminate her position. She wasn't afraid of someone attacking her, mostly because if they did she wasn't really much of a fighter to begin with. Either way, it was another girl, and judging from her voice, she was shaky with the lights out.
She pushed her hair back, letting it loose around her, reaching her hips. She used it to hide most of her body, along with the hoodie she was wearing. It was cool inside, mostly from the rain and the raging storm outside the school building.
"I thought I was the only one here..."

Bump in the night.
"Aloha? I'm Asher,"
Jayr would jump back briefly, a hand of hers running up towards her chest resting along her sternum as she focused on it solely figuring the breathing till it settled. Her eyes registering to the certain light before figuring the girl known as Asher to be indeed a girl. Though something about the dim lighting gave her a scary image in Jayr's mind, of course she wasn't a fan of horror films but that didn't mean she wasn't obsessed with L4D, the game instantly affiliating Asher with a hunter.
"I'm Jayr." She'd say timidly offering a slight smile, hopefully the hunter was a friendly one and wouldn't end up humping her to submission as her life points drifted away.
"I thought I was the only one here..."
"So did I but I guess that can't be helped anymore. D'you know what happened to the power?"
Jayr would question specifically before wandering off along the side of the tables feeling her way about with extended hands as she marched onward bumping and clattering between spots. It was a lot more determined by fear of her hunter buddy that she pressed on over the pain of stubbing feet.
*Click*
Jayr felt the handle of the door hammering at it heavily expecting them to part ways before solving nothing. They'd been locked somehow and the force of the handle wasn't giving way.
"I guess we're stuck."

Asher blinked and paused, chewing her lower lip for a moment, clicking the barbell in her tongue against her teeth for a moment. "Storm probably knocked out the power. I'll bet there's flooding too," she said, thinking. "I think I can get the power back if I can get to the electrical room," she said, shrugging.
The petite Hawaiian was not a fighter, but she did use her head and physics. Anything around her she could figure out how to make into a weapon, if she really wanted to. But that was a last ditch effort, she'd much rather screw her way out of a situation than attempt to fight. She was small, yet highly flexible, and had no fighting skills.
Tapping her lower lip, she looked at the door handle, frowning before coming over, crouching down by the door handle, muttering to herself in Hawaiian as she looked at it. "If this was a standard door, not a deadbolt, I could get it open, but this requires a key," she said, trailing off.
Standing up, she looked around, thinking. "Do you suppose the librarians keep keys in their desks?"

It came from the shadows
Jayr would look back aiming her eyesight towards the light of the phone, however dim it was the thing was still enough to locate Asher on. Despite the creepy starting point Jayr figured it'd be best to work in pairs.
"If this was a standard door, not a deadbolt, I could get it open, but this requires a key,"
With an innocent smile Jayr gestured a shrug, she didn't know how the girl knew that, I mean who looked at doors that much. Okay that was a bit mean. Though if it meant there'd be a way out of here she'd start taking the time to look at doors a bit more closely as it would.
"Do you suppose the librarians keep keys in their desks?"
"I guess the problem is finding them in the dark."
A shrill laughing would echo into the room sending a chill up Jayr's spine as she flinched back. Her body recoiling down towards the ground and grasping at her shins to make herself 'safe.'
"If you want out you'll have to play a game..."
The thrumming laughter would stop short and listen for a response something Jayr wouldn't give recluse within her safe position.
"You'll have to play along to get the keys, first movement." A rattling of dice would be heard over the audio before the voice would return, "Move to the back wall and find the book with the words quoted: 'As he was valiant, I honour him. But as he was ambitious, I slew him. ' "
Jayr wouldn't move, something inside her wouldn't allow it, not without provocation.

Asher chewed her lip momentarily, brushing the stubborn strands back as she sat back for a moment, weighing the other girl's words with a contemplative 'hmm'. She reached a finger up to tap her lips but before the action could be completed, the voice came from above them, taunting them and causing Asher to look up with a bored look on her face.
"Fuck. I hated those goddamn movies," she said, scowling and rolling her eyes. "I don't play well with idiots," was her next comment as she shrugged and decided to go find the desk.
Asher really had no patience for these sorts of things and if she really wanted to, there were other ways to get out of the library. She had unconventional smarts when it came to this sort of thing, getting out of weird situations and she would be damned if she let some kid get the best of her.
Turning to look at Jayr, she arched an eyebrow and strolled over to her, trying to snap the girl out of whatever trance she was in. "Jayr, sweetie, come on. It's just some idiot trying to get a rise out of you. Don't let them get to you. Or they're just hoping for girl on girl action or to get laid," she said, trying to inject some humor in the situation.
"Wonder if I could screw our way out," she said with a laugh.

Playing with Idiots
That much could be considered as right, though Jayr had never been one for horror movies, always being the first to scream or bolt at the signs of something jumping in she was still holding still perhaps the hope that whatever was out there wouldn't be able to see her through her frozen facade. Slow hesitant breaths as she felt the other girl come to her side tenderly.
"Jayr, sweetie, come on. It's just some idiot trying to get a rise out of you. Don't let them get to you. Or they're just hoping for girl on girl action or to get laid,"
She flinched briefly returning her eyes to the situation, while Jayr loved to laugh it wasn't necessary now. She'd shrug and offer a small smile back trying to enjoy the fact that she wasn't alone in all of this.
"Sorry." Jayr would state moving upright to come out of her fragile frame and set into the perspective.
"Wonder if I could screw our way out,"
Her laugh wouldn't get a reaction but rather a speculative gesture and some heavy breathing from the overcom. Well at least they knew that their game master was indeed a pervert. Jayr's mind reverting to something dirty before being suppressed quickly and a red shade coating her cheeks quickly stepping forward with a suggestion to divert attention.
"That quote, it was Shakespearean lets go find it."
Quickly Jayr would walk about feeling her way through by the walls edge.

Asher sighed and ran a hand through her hair, following Jayr and rolling her eyes. The back wall was all about Shakespeare and there were at least twenty books with those lines. She hummed to herself, shrugging and pulling off her hoodie, revealing a short, tight shirt that showed off a toned body, veering off at the last moment to climb up one of the bookcases, directly below the intercom.
They were using the two way, she figured out, judging from the static and interference she could hear the back feed. Using her balance to stay quiet, she held the hoodie up over it, tucking it in and using it to muffle everything before she climbed back down, joining Jayr.
She spoke softly, holding a finger to her lips for the other girl to remain quiet as well. "He has it on two way but I've muffled it just a bit so we can talk. The back wall is completely devoted to Shakespeare and we've got at least twenty books with those lines, assuming he's even telling the truth," she said, violet eyes flashing with intelligence.
"The better option would be to face the rain and go out the window since the ones in the back open and you're small enough to fit out of it," she said with a wry smile. "Wouldn't do for the school captain to get stuck in this, would it? I'm no fighter but I sure as hell know how to make a man do what I want," she finished with a giggle.

Ulterior Designations Jayr proceeded to the back wall stopping suddenly as she sized up the books, absent minded at the back of her mind she'd follow along with the conversation. Somewhere along the lines however Asher was finding the game within the game that dictated a change of rules on their behalf and indeed in their favor. Her plan as Jayr had caught on or at least she hoped she was getting this all right; They'd sneak out the window and into the rain giving Jayr the opportunity to escape while Asher would seduce whoever it was in the panel. Jayr would somewhat think to cringe at the idea. She hadn't formed that sisterly bond of sacrifice just yet and would have considered it if the whole idea didn't exactly sound....beneath her.
While granted they each had different points of views where Jayr was raised Christian and showing signs of apathy and flaunting sexual acts was in her mind slutty, to Asher it was probably an entirely different sensation. The conflicting moral battle starting up behind her eyes as Jayr figured there would be another way out of this that would prevent either of them from compromise.
Jayr would turn about towards the book shelf and set her hand atop the book she'd picked out before this whole plan came full circle. "Or we could just..." her hands wrapping around the spine of 'Julius Caesar.'
"Find the right book?"
Jayr would smile innocently trying to appear as she wasn't passing judgment, she didn't want to make an enemy at this point and she'd need some time before understanding.
