Cain swore, that Brent could be so immature at times. Yeah, he was talking about the blitzer of the school's football team, the same large male that somewhat had a reputation for picking on those younger and smaller than he was. And just as that was as known, Cain was also known to pick on the man himself. Of course, those were the times that Cain was the School Captain. And with the dropping of the title, Brent had only hoped that Cain would leave him alone, but no, Cain found the man way too entertaining to leave alone. Without a badge to limit him, Cain could beat Brent down as much as he wanted. Apparently, Brent had been plotting to have revenge on Cain.
Though, he never figured it would be like this, setting him up on a date that Cain had been informed just a day before.
Seriously.
Of course, Cain had been forced to play along, and with a little bit of searching, Cain had managed to find his supposed date. A girl named Kirsty Pattinson. And getting her number, Cain had then been tasked to organise this date itself. And of course, there was also the task of explaining the matter to Zen, who was not all too pleased with the event. It was made obvious from when the pregnant woman had sarcastically wished Cain luck as he had left, though Cain was slightly relieved that that was all it had come to.
So, here Cain was, a short distance from where Kirsty lived, the end of the road that she lived at, a place that Cain had messaged her to meet him at. His plan? Well, it was a basic date, really. A trip to the mall, a movie of her choice, dinner and finally that walk home. Yeah.
Cain let out a soft sigh, placing his right hand in his pocket, his left hand coming up as he adjusted the collars of his white buttoned shirt, the sleeves folded up just above his elbows, untucked and hiding the waist of his blue denim fitting jeans, the ankles tucked into the mouth of his Nike kicks. Quite an attire indeed.
Now, where was Kirsty?

Kirsty was late, she knew it. But at the time she wasn't too concerned. If this date had been anything serious she would have been freaking out by now. As she ran down the stairs from her apartment, she sent up a silent prayer that Roy would forgive her for skipping out and leaving him in her bed. Today she had dressed herself down, she wasn't out to impress anyone today, she wore her black skinny jeans, her black and pink converses and she topped it off with a red and black t-shirt.
The second she saw the car she inwardly sighed and walked towards it, she looked up at the sky. It was sunny again today, something that she was now used to. She tucked her hair behind her ears and sighed as she stopped outside the passenger door. She took in a deep breath to gain her composure, then looked down at the ground as she opened the door.
Oh boy... Here goes.
As she sat on the passenger seat, she glanced at the person who was supposed to be her date, she'd never met him before. Therefore she was nonchalant on her opinion of him, his name was... Cain? She had to remember to check the text, this date had been dumped on her out of the blue so she hadn't had time to catch all of the details.
"Um hi. Cain right?"

And through the windshield of the loaned car - Yes, it was loaned - Cain caught sight of his date for the day as she walked towards him. Another sigh escaped his lips, wondering what Zen was thinking of this. Certainly she wouldn't be happy, but there was no turning back now. He was already here. It'll be way too rude to just drive off. Besides, Cain had already used too much resources here. As if the loaned car was not enough already. All he could then was patiently wait for her to arrive. Soon enough, she did, his head turning as he looked towards her, a soft smile on his face.
"Um hi. Cain right?"
Cain nodded his head. He did not have to introduce himself, really. They had already done that when they had exchanged numbers. Kirsty Pattinson. It was quite a rather odd name, Cain had to admit. It reminded him somewhat of this modern teenage-craze of a vampire movie, though he himself had not caught it. Then again, he couldn't say much. He was named after a sinful individual in the bible. He had it worse, in terms of name reminding.
He had killed his brother, Abel.
"Yeah. So, uhm, have you eaten lunch?"
Cain inquired as he started up the car, picking up softly as he began to drive off towards the mall, his eyes going back to the road. He did not have a license, but she did not have to know that. I mean, from the way he was driving, it was almost impossible to tell that.

Kirsty leaned back in her seat, tucking her hair behind her ears. As she looked at him, her expression uncertain, she took in his appearance. He had a devilish look about him, he reminded her of someone...
He's just got one of those faces.
Truth be told, she was hungry, Roy had kept her up late the night before... Roy... She missed him, she'd been pulled from bed and set up on this date. She'd had to leave the man she cared about to go out with a complete stranger.
"Um, actually no. I haven't."
Kirsty leaned her head back against the headrest, her head was pounding and her eyes were aching painfully. She had been in the car a matter of minutes and already she had ran out of things to say. Usually her topics of conversation were brought on by a desire to talk, at that precise moment she had no desire to talk, at least not much of one anyway.

"Um, actually no. I haven't." "Uhm, alright. Then let's get something to eat first then?"
And he would turn into another road, the Junior driving considerably smoothly indeed. His eyes, however, would glance towards Kristy instead. Now, Cain may have been isolated from social contact from when he was born until he turned thirteen, but he was still experienced when it came to reading emotions and faces. And Kristy's body language could only scream one thing.
What the fuck was she doing here?
Cain let out a soft cough then, before turning towards the road. Of course, he was curious as to why she was resenting this outing so much for. It was not like Cain had done anything to get her to hate him yet. Their first meeting had been quite casual and hospital, so Cain doubted it was anything from that. And if she did not want to do this thing in the first place, she would not have signed up for it.
Cain did not have much of a choice. Someone else signed up for him.
"So, what's up? You seem troubled by something."
Yeah, try to make it as casual as possible, Cain. The date just started. Don't ruin it already.

Kirsty glanced at him, realising that she may have initially been hasty in her opinion of him, she opened her mouth to respond then chewed her lip instead. She ran her hands through her hair and thought back to the previous night.
"I'm just nervous I guess, I do get like that sometimes. I'm sorry if I seem off." She looked at him apologetically, her icy blue eyes trained on him, today they were surrounded by black liquid eyeliner and red eyeshadow.
He is so familiar... It's weird.
He reminded her of an actor from a fantasy TV show she had been prone to watching in her younger teenage years. He had the same presence, the devilish, cocky, presence. She leaned her head on the window and watched the other cars go by.

Cain kept his eyes on the road, not wanting to mess up a bit here. A bad date was enough to worry about. One that would succeed in sending them to the hospital was worse. He did not want to have that a memory of his first outing with a schoolmate too. It would be... Awkward. He coughed once more, thoguh this time more subconsciously as he tried to drive away the awkwardness he was feeling then, the silence really digging deep into his sku-
"I'm just nervous I guess, I do get like that sometimes. I'm sorry if I seem off."
Cain turned to her for a moment, just as they reached a traffic light, the said signal having just turned red. They were at the front of the lanes, as the cars passed by in front of them. Well, wasn't that... Adorable? He chuckled a bit, before shaking his head casually, a gesture that he did not really mind. He then gave her a soft hospital smile, glancing sideways for a bit to ensure that the signal was still on red.
"Well, it is our first time going out like this. It'll be kinda expected. We barely know things about each other too. So, don't worry about it."
He widened that smile briefly, before turning back to the road, as the signal turned to a clearer and brighter green, the young Junior gently jerking the car forward to a start, their smooth travel to the mall almost coming to an end. Just a few more minutes of driving and they would be there. Until then, of course, Cain would try something that would perhaps help bring this little 'school assignment' to a more comfortable level, or a very bad otherwise.
"So, wanna get the ball rolling? Tell me more about yourself. That is, if you don't mind, of course."

Kirsty had to consider that for a brief moment, her life had never seemed to be a very good topic of conversation. It was certainly interesting in a depressing sort of way but he didn't need to know that. She had several options here, she could A: Lie through her teeth, telling him that she has a perfect happy family and that her life had been amazing so far, she could B: Tell him the truth about how her entire family was dead and she was clinically depressed or she could C: Compromise between the two.
After debating it for several seconds she decided that C would be the better option. Glancing at him briefly she began to work it out in her head.
"Uh... I was born in California, in Rodeo. Moved to Phoenix at the age of three then left for New York when I was sixteen, my folks were gone by then and it was pretty much my older brother's choice to leave. When he died I sorta needed to grab ahold of reality again so I did a bit of travelling, after dropping out of high school then my travels brought me here. I'm slowly settling in, I've only been here a month or so but so far everyone seems pretty nice."
She smiled satisfied with not giving away too much information, she hadn't lied so to speak, she had just intentionally witheld certain pieces of information from him. She was impressed at her use of tact.
"What about you?"

Well, it was a good start. Cain allowed himself a soft smile as he listened attentively, knowing that the information might prove useful in the future, be it for the period of the day, or longer, if they were ever to meet again. She was born in California, huh? Phoenix, then New York. She really got around a lot, huh? Cain allowed the information to register in his head, as he filtered some parts. She had been traveling and had found herself here, huh? Cain chuckled at that part.
"What about you?"
Cain turned to her for a brief moment, before letting out a soft grin. Yeah, it was only right that he told her a little bit about himself too, right? Well, of course, Cain still had his own privacy issues. Besides, he had just met her too. And despite it being a date, Cain was not about to open the whole book of who he was. Just a few interesting pages.
"Well, I was born in New York. Mom died when I was born, so I grew up under my dad, though he wasn't much of a father. He was the one who trained me to fight, but he died when I was 14. So, for a brief period of time, I had to grow up on my own. When I was 15, I got into #552 and was there for 2 years, when the school closed down. Yeah, I was thrown back into the streets, but I didn't want to stay there, so I moved here, to #774, cause they were taking in students. Yeah. Settled in quite easily too. Met a couple of people, got to make a few new friends and had a lot of fun too. Been here for almost a year too. Yeah."
Cain allowed himself a flash of achievement with a smile, succeeding in saying that much in so little words. With that, Cain would slow themselves down, as the car turned then into a carpark. Yeah, they had arrived.
"Anyway, we're here. I'm gonna go find us a slot, then we can go get something to bite, alright?"
