As Kirsty observed the people serving them, she noticed the way they were staring at Roy with the utmost respect. This confused her but she decided not to dwell on it, she studied the menu, recognising most of the meals from previous Japanese restaurants she'd visited.
"So is there anything that you can recommend?"
She asked her question with small smile, placing the menu flat on the table in front of her. She removed her jacket slowly then placed it on the back of the mahogany chair, she leaned back in her seat, playing with a napkin that lay in front of her.
Sitting opposite Roy gave Kirsty an excuse to look at him, she could now study him properly, something she hadn't had much chance to do before. She rested her chin on her hand, smiling at him.

Roy felt akward. He had pulled the Ikezawa girl, Hanako, out of the second fire she had been in. The first had left her with orrific burn scars after Ryudo himself carried her out, suffering third degree burns all over his chest and back, but the second time, nobody had gotten hurt.
He was grateful for that. Hanako was a good kid, as was Ryudo. Thier mom was a little strange, but her being so.....formal, tonight, weirded him right the hell out. She was one of those spunky older ladies. One who liked to hit on the young boys as she ran her resturant. This was highly out of character for her.
The Xing family must be paying her a lot.
Roy smiled at Kirsty, and thought for a moment.....Miso Ramen was one of his favorite things in the world, and they did it really well here. Like, the best Miso Ramen he had ever had. It might nto be the most sophisticated thing in the world, but it was good.
"I like this place's miso ramen....I know it's not sophisticated or anything, but it's damned good."

Kirsty smiled and nodded, it sounded good to her. Then again at that precise moment, so did he, she looked down in shame her face growing red as she crossed her legs in almost a protesting way.
"Mmm sounds good, I think I'd like to try some of that."
She mentally slapped herself on the forehead, outwardly her face barely registered the fact that she'd said it, she was good at keeping her face constant, despite what her body was feeling.
Oh.My.God! Please don't read into it!
If her body could show how she really felt at that moment in time, it would have been shaking all over and she would have to stop herself from reaching across the maroon colored table cloth to him.

Roy smiled a bit wider this time. Was she really feeling how he thought she felt? He defenitely felt sexual tension, something he hadn't felt in a long time. It was an almost pleasant feeling, for him. It gave him some sort of twisted confidence in his own sexuality.
Hell, she wasn't the only one who wanted to "Try" what was sitting across the table. At least if he had interpreted the tone of her voice properly. Nah, he was probably wrong, and she just really wanted some noodles.
His smile was reasurring, as he decided he would have te mis ramen himself. The two came back and went off to the kitchen with the orders, Roy lamented for a brief moment how unsophisticated he was, but she didn't seem to mind, much. It was kind of refreshing to be able to be oneself around a woman, instead of acting like the head of a fucking mafia.
Protocol sucked. He was glad she wasn't involved with any of the Families, or this dinner would have sucked.
A few minutes later, the food arrived, and it looked amazing.

Kirsty remained silent until their food arrived, she could smell the ramen and it was one of the nicest smells she'd ever experienced.
"Mmm that smells so good."
Kirsty ran her hand through her hair, brushing it back out of her face. She was still spooked from her earlier emotions, it hadn't been very long since she was intimate with a man... or a woman for that matter. But still, it was different with someone she wasn't intending to sleep with at this precise moment.
Picking up her chopsticks, Kirsty took a mouthful of food, instantly realising this was quite possibly the best thing she'd ever tasted, it took all of her effort to moan from the exquisite taste.
Suddenly she was aware of the sexual tension spreading between the two of them, she tried leaning further back in her seat, as if she thought it would help break the invisible thing between them.
I'm not that lucky...
Kirsty mentally slapped herself as she glanced around the room, still occasionally picking at her dinner. She had no idea what exactly to say to him so she just remained silent, watching and waiting for him to speak.

Roy leaned back in his seat, smiling. She looked rather uncomfortable, and he wanted to put her at ease. So he had to say something to break the tension that was between them, or at least ease it. sure, Roy enjoyed sexual tension, in a way, but he knew that not many people did.
But what to talk about? He couldn't talk about his family without raising red flags. And he would rather not talk about his past, it was pretty uninteresting. Except for the whole shit about his parents, but......that stayed hidden. Always.
"So, how do you like the food?"
It was a lame attempt, and Roy felt even lamer when a LIVE BAND began to play. Some slow, "Romantic" song he had never heard of, without lyrics, so the singer just stood there looking like a tard.
I'm going to kill one of my siblings for this.......

Kirsty smiled as the live band began to play, looking at Roy she briefly saw a hint of annoyance in his expression. She put her chopsticks down next to her bowl and played with a lock of her hair as she leaned back in her seat.
"It was great, how was yours?"
She paused briefly, an inner war raging inside her, then she finally plucked up the courage to speak. She'd been deliberating carefully about whether or not she was going to ask him to dance and she finally had decided.
"So... Um do you dance?"
Kirsty was oddly nervous asking him because he seemed like the type of guy that would be against the idea of dancing for any occasion. But she hoped that this tiime worked out.

Roy smiled. Dance?
"The ramen was good...."
I bet something else would taste better right now. Like booze. The shit my FAMILY keeps pulling is getting on my nerves....
Roy was a recovering alcoholic, but his family's antics were putting him on the brink of drinking again, and he didn't like it. But he couldn't let it show, and he didn't.
He hadn't danced in years, but it was worth a shot, he supposed. He had only danced at family gatherings, the big fancy ones where everyone danced formally, dressed thier best and whatnot. He always felt akward at such events.
"I haven't danced in a while, but it could be fun."
He smiled his devilish smile again, dancing could be REALLY fun, especially if it was slow dancing.......

Kirsty stood up from her seat, straightening out her top, she had very suddenly become nervous. She knew exactly why, her knowledge of dancing, slow dancing in particular, wasn't varied, she only knew a limited amount. So right now would be a test for her.
"Same here, I haven't danced in over a year."
And even then I was drunk...
She became aware that she had a niggly feeling in her stomach, she was afraid, it was something she hadn't been for a while. Travelling with a large biker gang had toughened her up, the only time before this that she'd been truly afraid is the moment she'd laid eyes on Jack for the first time in a year.
Talk about your weird day...
She combed her fingers through her hair, she liked it when her hair was natural, she hated using sprays and gels on her hair although she knew that she ought to sometimes. Her hairdresser always used to say that her hair was going to be gone by the time she was 30, probably due to the various colors her hair had been subjected to.

Dancing, huh? Roy knew for a fact that if you wanted to know someone's true intentions, you either fought them or danced with them.
And he really didn't want to fight Kirsty, so dancing was the obvious choice. You could really tell a lot by just dancing with someone, to be honest. How they moved and how they held themselves told everything you needed to know.
And he wouldn't mind slow dancing with her, which is what they'd be doing, based on the music. Holding a woman close and moving in tune to the music.....he hadn't been that close to a woman in a long time.
It had been at least two years since he had danced, he mused to himself as he stoop up. This was likely to be a bit akward, at first.
And he had to try not to let his inner monolouge take over. He needed to stop thinking and act. Thinking everything through here would likely lead to self doubt, and Roy didn't want to trek down THAT path again.
With that thought, he led her out to the clear area that would serve as the dance floor, as they started to play anoter song. The singer still was just standing there, looking like a tard. Roy didn't recognize teh song, but it was another of those slow, seemingly romantic songs.
Hopefully, Roy wouldn't fail horribly at dancing....

Kirsty stood in front of Roy, a small smile playing across her lips when she saw his expression. He appeared nervous but she didn't care, she still thought he was sweet. The song that soon began to play, she knew very well. It was a piano cover of it but it still sounded beautiful and haunting.
Here goes...
Wrapping her arms around his neck, she swallowed nervously, her eyes met his and for a moment she felt like she was going to melt. Looking down, she silently took in a deep breath to steady herself.
It's just a dance... Don't panic. It's just a dance...
No matter how many times she told herself she could still feel the butterflies flapping wildly in her stomach, her heart could have broken her ribs it was pounding so hard inside her chest.
It's just a dance...

Roy smiled. She was getting nervous again, and he had to find a way to calm her down before she had a heart palpatation. He could actually hear her heartbeat fainlty, dancing so closely. Or at least he believed he could. He wasn't the most sane man on earth, but it was enough to concern him slightly.
He followed her lead dancing, slowly moving to the music after she had met his eyes. He was feeling more cinfident with each second, for reasons he couldn't fathom. Was she really reacting positively to him for him? She didn't know he was the Xing family golden boy, after all. She couldn't possibly.
Hesmiled, and suprised himself with his next action, bending his head and meeting his lips to hers in a kiss, as soon as she looked up again. He would hold the kiss for a second or two, and then pull away, not using tounge yet because he figured she would have slapped him for slipping her the tounge already.
He smiled that devilish smile again, and kept dancing.

Kirsty's breath caught in her throat in shock, the second she looked up, his lips had been on hers. Each second their lips remained touching seemed like a lifetime, her heart began to pound faster and faster.
Oh my god...
She closed her eyes, feeling her heart slow to a relaxing pace. But it was all too soon that he pulled away, his grin making her blush. She didn't believe in having feelings before you truly know someone but already she could tell she liked him.
No... Not now. Not yet!
"You're a good dancer."

Huh....didn't think she'd go for that. She's a real toughie, not being intimidated by any of this.
He still smiled. This was fun, and he liked her quite a bit more than the other girls he had recently dated. He couldn't remember ever having a healthy relationship, even Serenity had been some kind of unhealthy co-dependancy.
"You're quite the dancer yourself."
It was vaugely absurd, how quickly he had taken a liking to her, but he didn't really give a damn. She seemed to like him for him, though, because she didn't know about his money or family. And the less people who knew about his family, the better.
Before he knew it, it was midnight. He smiled at her, time had flown all on its own, without telling either of them it was going.
"It's getting late... I think the owner and her son would like it if we left."

Kirsty felt a short pang of disappointment at his words but nothing could have dampened the happy feeling she was clinging to as they walked out of the restaurant.
Wow...
On a usual night, by midnight she would have been in bed, but at that moment she knew that she wouldn't get much sleep that night, although it may not have been in the way she preferred, she was still happy about it.
She glanced up at the sky, the moon was out so there was a fair bit of light, even on top of the light from the restaurant. She smiled at the owner of the restaurant appreciatively, although she guessed that Roy had something to do with the hospitality tonight.
