..Many people with caustic personas and tough demeanors are really hiding a softer side. Their acerbic tendencies might hide a kind or tender soul; their gentler nature often safeguarded against the cruelties of the world. This is not the case with Angelina Pecado. Though she came dimpled and smiling out of the womb, (after a short labor, no less, and without a single wail or shriek) her glossy black hair as fine as silk floss and lips like Cupid’s bow, the resemblance to an angel ended there. Angelina’s elegant features and potent charm are thoroughly deceiving ornaments: they soften and make quite appealing the steel that is her true core and the cold hard diamond of her heart. She has always been a girl who knows how to get what she wants: this isn’t to say she is cruel or abusive or conniving. Miss Pecado simply isn’t afraid to cut the bullshit and get things done, preferably her way. To her the ends will pretty much always justify the means, but what do you expect from the daughter of a South American drug lord? A life of entertaining rough company has made her quick on the uptake, observant, intuitive and very very charming. She’s not afraid to use everything and anything she’s got to accomplish her goals. Angelina tends to play things close to the vest: the emotions she displays might not be a real reflection of what’s going on in her head, but instead what she knows will best suit the situation. She’s good at meeting people and getting others to like her, so it’s no surprise she has a lot of contacts…but she doesn’t have very many true friends. She doesn’t mind: friends are great but she can do without. No matter how hard others try or how good they are at keeping their word, she’s found that the only person she can rely on 100% of the time is herself. Contrary to what her behavior might suggest, Angelina doesn’t base her self worth on others’ opinions. It takes a very long time to gain her trust and that, once lost, is all but guaranteed to be gone forever..

Description
..As her daddy’s one and only child, little Angelina was doted on, protected and at the ten, taught how to protect herself. Hiring the best, her father insisted that she learn a mixture of hand to hand combat that would serve her well in real life situations. He also ensured that she would be good with guns: big ones, small one, single action through fully automatic. If it has a trigger and goes boom (she likes silencers) spits lead, she can shoot it. As she learned a composite of styles, she might not appear a trained fighter at first glance, but then that’s never been the focus. The point of all of her lessons was to make sure she could hurt an attacker more than they hurt her (hopefully before they could hurt her at all): the different disciplines manifest themselves in technique more than in definitive moves. From Jiu-Jitsu she learned how to combat opponents larger than herself with submission holds; namely how to make the most of close range grappling and how to go for joint locks and chokeholds. Quick, versatile strikes from kickboxing come in when she wants to take an opponent off-guard or when she sees an opportunity to do some actual damage. Krav Maga is a combination of fighting styles to begin with but her instructors used it to train her how to work under pressure and while fatigued as well as how to disarm opponents with guns or knives (or other such threatening weaponry). In a fight, she tends to look like a well educated street fighter: using anything and everything that will work, but with some form behind it..

..Angelina Pecado was born on January 23rd at one twenty three in the afternoon. She was and remained the only child of Lorenzo and Graciela Maria Pecado. Her father a wealthy Colombian "businessman" and her mother a socialite and daughter of an ambitious politician, Angelina grew up in an environment both luxurious and volatile. As a little girl, Lina could produce a pout and puppy eyes that would find the chinks in Tony Stark's Iron Man armor. As she grew up, she only got better, learning quickly that to get what you want you have to tell them what they want to hear. In fact, the only person she couldn't wrap around her little finger was her mother: she was too much like Graciela Maria, who didn't like that her own daughter might possibly be just as good, if not better at manipulation than she was. The two women were two creatures too much alike to share the same space, so Angelina and her mother have never been close. For all her young life she attended private schools, the kind run by Catholic nuns with lush gardens on their grounds: schools with high walls, barbed wire on the top and guards at the gates to keep the denizens of the ghetto beyond shut out. As much as Angelina would have hated to lose her priveleged lifestyle, that didn't stop her from considering the gates of each school she attended as prison gates: they kept her locked in as much as they kept el pobre {the poor} locked out. Even if she would not have liked life in the ghetto she resented that the choice to keep her out of it was being made for her. It was at these uptight and well to do Catholic schools that she received her second nickname and her favorite. As much a result of her behavior as her surname, she earned herself the moniker, "Sin". Her classmates preferring the nickname in English, while the nuns (from institution to institution her reputation followed her) preferred to pretend as though they were referring to her by last name. They called her by her last name, Pecado or they called her Pecadora and when they thought she was not listening, La Pecadora - "The Sinner". When she was twelve, one determined headmistress insisted on calling her Angelina. The same woman refused to let dress code infractions slide as others did, kept track of her tardies and absences as others had learned was useless. Over the years, Lina had grown to enjoy that even the school authorities acknowledged her reputation. While every other student was treated as a child, the fact that even the most seasoned nun conceded that she was (while a very bright girl) an untameable wild thing, sat well with her. This woman was trying to bring her back into the fold; completely disregarding the sugar sweet manners and iron hard resolve that had forced so many to turn a blind eye and Angelina Pecado would have none of it. Who was this woman to ask her to change? The headmistress quit by the end of the semester.
When she turned ten, her father decided it was time she learn to take care of herself. Despite the fact that she never went without a body guard in Colombia, Lorenzo Pecado was a smart man and believed that one could never be too careful when it came to protecting precious goods. And his daughter was the most precious thing he had. He made sure she was schooled in several self defense disciplines and taught how to use almost every gun known to mankind. If he could smuggle it, he taught her how to use it. All the training paid off: the summer before she turned fourteen, Lorenzo Pecado decided to take his family vacationing to the Cayman Islands. On their way to the airport, they were attacked by men hired by a "business" rival. Their car was flipped over: one of their six body guards was knocked unconscious in the collision and another killed instantly. Lorenzo and Graciela Maria were trapped in the car, but Angelina managed to break a window and get free. There were only four hired hitmen and Angelina took the unconscious body guard's weapons from his person. The .45 commanded a heavy kick that, out of nervousness, she wasn't prepared for. Her first shot went a little wild and shattered one of the hitmen's femurs. Always a quick learner, she corrected her aim and killed a second man. By then the police arrived on the scene. While this was not the first or the last occassion her self defense training came in handy, it was undoubtedly the most memorable.
When it was time for her to start high school, no Catholic school in Colombia would take her in. This was not a large problem for Angelina, however, because she had always wanted to get out of Latin America and move to the States, where half of her mother's family lived. She had heard stories and seen pictures from various cousins and in laws and she wanted to see for herself. Vacations were not enough anymore: she wanted a piece of the US for herself. The fact that it would be easier to find a high school in the States that would accept her was all the better for her plan. The attack on the family the summer before only made it easier to convince her father she'd be safer in the States. Within a week she had convinced her parents to allow her to attend Public High School 774 in San Diego. Due to the differences in curriculum, she would be a year older than the other students in her grade, but that was of little importance to her. She was finally getting out of Colombia! She would live alone, her parents depositing money into her bank account every month for living necessities. Because he had heard somewhere that almost all American teens owned two cars (this was likely because the first ended up totalled within the first three years so they of course didn't usually own two at a time) her father bought her a hard top convertible Mercedes SLR in black to match her Land Rover LRX with its reinforced structuring and bullet proof windows..
