"Cain. I got a job for you. Your client's Mr. Derrick. He's making a delivery from the harbor to somewhere at the slums. Make sure he gets there. He's paying 150% of your price. You've got an hour to get to the harbor."
And so said the text message, the number kept unknown for a good reason, as Cain took note of the information. A request for a bodyguard, huh? Cain let out a soft sigh, reaching up to scratch the back of his head as he placed his phone back on the coffee table. Well, they did need the money for their grocery for the rest of the month. Cain also had nothing to do at home. Zen had just gotten back to sleep for her somewhat afternoon nap, and there was nothing much left to clean up in this house. He had spent the last few days doing that already. Might as well, right?
Besides, after spending the past six months doing the same shit, he figured this would just be a breeze now. He chuckled at that thought. No pain, no gain, it seemed. Cain got up from the couch, heading into his room, his eyes first wandering over to Zen's prone body on the bed, giving a soft smile to himself. Nah, nothing was going to happen to him. This was a quick and easy job, and with the money Mr. Derrick seemed to be able to spare, Cain knew that there would be more bodyguards than one. He moved forward for a while, giving her a soft peck on the forehead, before proceeding back to his closet and taking out a pair of jeans, a black shirt and a light leather jacket.
Donning those on, plus his Nike [Sabre] Dunks, he would pocket his wallet and hand phone, before leaving the house. This was his job, after all. And whenever he was requested for, he would have to work for it. Yeah, this was his job. Saying no would simply affect his 'image'.
Of course, there were many questions in his head. Who was this Mr. Derrick? What was he delivering? Is it something illegally brought in, considering that the starting point was the harbour? How many other bodyguards are there? If he was paying that high, did that mean that the risk was high too? It was always that way, after all. Ah, hell, here was no point lingering on these questions. He would only find out once he reached there.
Flagging a taxi, the Junior would then proceed on his journey towards the harbor, his left hand twisting the ring on his middle finger, his emerald hues looking out the window as his mobile transport sought to get him to his destination as quickly as it could. To Cain's request, of course. He was simply too curious to see what kind of people he was going to work with.
A soft smile came upon his face. This was truly a dangerous field of expertise, but that was one of the things that Cain loved about it. He was an adrenaline-junkie, and one could not find better adrenaline than throwing themselves into danger. Of course, he was no rash idiot either and was not going to seemingly just throw his life away, but being there, looking out for your own lives and knowing that turning at the next corner could be the last thing that you did was enough to send your heart pumping, even when you were simply casually walking.
He grinned once more. Yeah. This seemed like it was going to be really interesting.

It was not that long until the taxi reached the harbour, Cain leaving the vehicle after paying the allocated fare, a soft sigh escaping his lips as he looked in through the open gate of the harbour. Despite its security importance, it seemed that the harbour gates were never really closed off. True, it was close sometimes, but that was only when there was a guard present. It seemed that at the moment, there was no one in the guardhouse to the side. Either that, or he had been removed. Cain could only hope it was the former. There was no point in this job being that dangerous already from the start. Cain signed up to earn money, not to get shot at.
Well, time to meet this Mr. Derrick, then.
With that, Cain started his pace into the harbor, that grin of his fading away, his eyes sharpening up as he looked out for anything out of place or suspicious. After all, just as the other bodyguards were a stranger to him, he was a stranger to them too. They could just jump out, or shoot him on the spot. Yeah, as much as Cain found it unnerving and exciting, the danger had already started the moment he left the house. No time nor space to slack off now. First thing's first, he would have to find Mr. Derrick and the other bodygu-
"Who are you?"
-ards.
Cain felt the cold touch of steel being placed upon the side of his head as he walked past one of the warehouses, his heart almost jumping out of his chest as it did. Motherfuckin' asshole, sneaking up on him like that. However, he would keep his exterior posture calm, as he turned slowly to face the man, taking in his appearance almost immediately. The pistol was a Beretta. 49F, if he was not wrong. Yeah, Cain studied a little bit on that. Especially in the last six months. The next thing that came into view was the man who held the weapon. It was a Caucasian, a few inches above six foot, Cain could not tell yet. Everything looked taller to him, after all. He was buff and had a thin beard, his face matured and battle-rough.
It was obvious that this guy had been through a lot of battles. Made Cain wonder where he had gone to.
He was wearing a dark grey tight fitting shirt and a pair of cargo pants, also wearing a leather jacket, but this time black, unlike Cain's dark brown jacket. He was clad in low-cut combat boots, and truly looked like a mercenary off the movies. One thing that Cain noticed, though, was that his finger was out of the trigger guard.
"... Abel."
Yeah, that was his codename for jobs like this. And unsurprisingly. No one really gave their real name in jobs like this. They used code names. And considering Cain's name, he figured he might as well use his 'brother'. The man holding the weapon to his forehead raised an eyebrow suspiciously, obviously not believing him. At that, the man gave a sly grin.
"Pro-
He would get cut short, though, as Cain would suddenly drop down, moving out of range of the weapon for now, before snapping forward, throwing his right fist at the man's stomach. And adding to it a burst, the man would stagger backwards, before falling on his bottom, the pistol sliding out of his grip. Before Cain could straighten himself, though, he would find himself being pinned against the wall of the warehouse as another man, just a bit larger and taller than Cain was, came from the side, placing his left forearm against Cain's throat.
And he would slowly lift Cain up, as the Junior placed both hands on his arm, trying to push it off. He was too strong, however. Cain had to get out of this. He snapped his right foot forward, his knee finding the man's torso, but the man only grunted.
If that's how you want it!
Cain repeated the movement, but this time with a burst, and the man was sent soaring backwards onto his back, letting Cain down onto the ground. He coughed twice, trying to regain his breathe, but recovered quick enough as he pounced onto the man, placing his left hand on the base of his neck to pin him down with a raised fist, poised to strike down a burst at his face. However, before he could.
"ENOUGH!"
Cain stopped, slowly looking up as he saw then a rather fat individual dressed in a suit with a maroon undershirt walking over towards them, carrying a suitcase, a frown on his face.
"I can't have my bodyguards killing each other off before we even set off! That'll be a waste of my money!"
Cain's eyes widened. This smug fat asshole was Mr. Derrick?

"Mr. Derrick?"
Cain would inquire subconsciously, looking up at the plump male that stood a short distance away from them. The man could only look back disapprovingly at the younger male, as if disappointed at his actions. He would give a sharp nod of his head, raising his left hand towards Cain, as if taunting him, his eyebrows raised in a cocky manner.
"Who else do you think I could be, dumbass?"
Cain could only grit his teeth behind closed lips as he slowly got off the other bodyguard, who could only look up at him, perhaps still in shock at how easily he had been taken down by a kid just past half his age. Cain would then brush the dust and dirt off his shirt. To his side, he heard the two other bodyguards getting up, soft grunts leaving their throats as they too glared at Cain, who could only look back. Well, it was not his fault, really. He did say that he was Abel, after all. It was their fault for not believing him.
"You're supposed to be Abel? But you're just a kid!"
"A kid who just took down two of your other bodyguards, mind you." Cain would snap back softly, though loud enough for his employer to hear. Of course, with the truth behind those words, Mr. Derrick was unable to find himself a proper reply, other than a threat.
"Watch your mouth, boy. I'm not paying you to talk."
And once more, Cain grunted in frustration. Yeah, for some obvious reasons, Cain knew that this job was going to be far from amusing. Cain then crossed his arms, standing on one leg, keeping silent now as he watched Mr. Derrick address the other two bodyguards. The war veteran, apparently codenamed Yeti, and rightfully so, considering his large built and hairy limbs, would begin to pack up his weapons then, apparently bringing quite a bit, from what Cain could see. Then, the other, a Japanese martial artist, or from what Cain could tell, could only pick up his dagger and two pistols. His codename was 'Hei', something that Cain knew translated to black.
So, these were to be his teammates, huh?
"Well, since the three of you have already been acquinted which each other, I will begin the briefing now. I have hired you all to keep me safe as I transport this package here an agent of my business partner. As it is deep into the city, I fear for my safetly along the journey for we do have enemies. That is where you come in. If you want your money, I suggest you do your best to keep me alive."
Cain sluggishly nodded his head, finally uncrossing his arms as he flexed his arms by the wrist, as if warming up for a fight. Well, considering from what he said, Cain was going to figure just that. He had enemies, that he made clear of. And if Cain didn't knew any better, it was a chance like this that no businessman would ever let slide past. He was travelling with a bunch of paid mercenaries and nothing else. The police force here did not belong to Mr. Derrick, so he had no authority over them. His client probably wanted a clean record too, so he did not resort to bribery to keep Mr. Derrick's path safe. However, Cain knew that their enemies would probably have no holds upon them and may just pay up some help from the law enforcement.
Hopefully they don't.
"If you've got no more questions, then let's move."
And with that, Cain would follow Mr. Derrick, alongside Yeti and Hei, to the nearest carpark, Cain constantly glancing over at Yeti and Hei. Cain had pretty much beat them down and humiliated them in front of a potential future client. There was nothing stopping them from shooting Cain at his back. However, from how this was going, Cain had doubts that they would even do that. Though, doubts would simply be doubts. Cain knew that he would still have to be careful around them.
Soon enough, they reached the carpark, and in the center of it all was a black SUV and standing beside it, leaning against the door, was a well-built black man wearing a pair of sleek shades and a suit, though the blazer jacket was unbuttoned and the top button of his white shirt too. He would glance up as the four of them approached, uncrossing his arms and giving a soft grin, raising his right hands.
"Yo." "And he's our driver, Cypher. Got his name? Good. Now in the car."
Cain let out an inaudible sigh, before allowing himself then to be ushered into the car, sitting them on the back seats, to the right. Mr. Derrick was beside him and in front of them, sitting and facing the opposite direction, was Hei. In front was Cypher and Yeti. Cain gave Hei a soft glance for a moment, before looking out the window. And as Cypher started the vehicle up, Mr. Derrick began his annoying habit of... Well, being annoying.
"I can't believe you're Abel. You're still a kid. I hope I didn't waste my money on you."
Oh, god, shut up already!
