(OOC: Title does sound misleading, but it's not what you think, lol.) Theme: Signs of Love Alex sat up on the rooftop, both his knees bent slightly as his right arm rested on top of his knee while he stared up at the sky, sunlight shining on him, as a gentle breeze blew his hair around slightly. It was the day after his first encounter with the girl he had met in gym, whom he found out after looking through the student files, was named Jayr Bryne. Her face permanently burned into his memory, any time he had seen her in the hallways, he immediately went the opposite way, but not because he was afraid of her, but because he knew the moment he tried to approach her and apologize, she'd probably run away from him in fear. "... Heh. What the hell am I doing...?" He asked himself as he laughed quietly before staring into empty space, a sad smile on his face. Except for his close friends and family, Alex never cared about anyone else, much less someone he just met, so why did he care so much about Jayr? It was strange enough that he didn't want her to get in trouble yesterday, considering the fact he basically didn't give a rat's ass about anything, at all. Hell, he didn't even tell Kevala about the roll of film Jayr had, even though he very well could've. But if it meant she wouldn't be in trouble, then he was willing to take the blame on himself, everything pinned on him... even if it meant he could've had his Pillar title taken away from him. His left hand resting beside him, Alex slowly raised his head to stare up at the sky, as a few clouds drifted along lazily in the blue sky above him.

Post rapeToday was very indifferent from the days prior, having avoided a tense situation Jayr would come off no different, perhaps a little more on guard a bit more flinchy towards noises but her overall exterior was rather unchanged. Striding through with a rather low key attire in comparison to her normal outfits. Though she found herself nervously chewing on the inside of her cheek. Yes she was a bit nervous, viewing the word with a bit more fear than she'd ever had before, every new face was a potential foe.
Even seeing the boy in the hall didn't shift her mask. She simply glared him down and turned another direction her face scrunched out of disgust. Once you earned a reputation of a rapist it was hard to get rid of, luckily Jayr didn't have many friends and she was sure Kevala didn't want suspect of her pillars spreading about.
A heated walk as Jayr made her way to the water fountain, a book under the weight of her arm and a trail of people behind her, she hadn't told anyone. Why? Because she was afraid? OR maybe she thought herself too proud to be found in a weakness and to speak of such made her weak. On the exterior, that was her greatest strength.

Rolling his shoulders, Alex pulled his cellphone out of his pocket and checked the time, seeing it was nearly time for class. Shoving his cell back into his pocket, Alex stood up, dusting himself off and headed down the stairs back into the school, and was about to head to his left, only to find himself nearly walking into the very person he was trying to keep his distance from, Jayr herself. "..." He was about to turn and go the other way, but immediately halted. Why the hell was he running away from her every time he saw her face anyways? He never cared about people's opinion of him, what made hers any different? "..." Shoving his hands into his jeans pockets, Alex scowled slightly, but not because he was angry at her, he was just frustrated that he didn't understand why he had been putting so much effort into avoiding her as much as possible. It didn't help that he was dense to a fault, and any kind of indication would just end up flying over his head.
"... I..." He muttered before trailing off, as he shook his head. "I'm no good at this kind of stuff, forget it." He then quickly turned and started to head down the hallway, scowling once more. He had already been known to appear very stiff, making him come off as uncaring, which in a way, was true, Alex cared about very few things and very few people. So what made Jayr any different from the people he didn't care about!? It frustrated him that he didn't know the answer, but his calculating nature kept him from doing anything that he would later regret. And he wasn't dumb enough to cause MORE trouble for Kevala, seeing as she was ready to murder him after yesterday's dumb move of the day, he was treading on thin ice. "... Tch."

I'm not the chasing type babe.... Bending over if even slightly was a concern for her in this instance, She wasn't weak but rather vulnerable in this given instance. Legs parted just slightly, her weight bowed forward into a place where people would consider something of lawn water to emerge from and she would have to agree with them noticing the state budget's expenditure on school funding. But by the time Kazuya Alex made his approach from behind she could only assume he was prepared to finish the job he started.
Jerking back she put a bit of distance between themselves protective of her own personal space but not in a quivering fashion that was seen yesterday. Despite the way it had hurt her yesterday she had no choice but build upon her facade stronger this time around, because she as stronger.
"Tch..."
Oohhhhkayyyy?
As he turned to walk away Jayr couldn't help but feel a tad weirded out, the boy who'd just assaulted her the other day, who'd told her a small taint of information, and then now today in public made his appearance brief and then walked off? Something was off, but of course she wasn't the type to go headlong into something she knew would be trouble. Besides her chances of lucking out twice were slim, and Kevala couldn't be everywhere at once.
So solving this problem Jayr turned about in the opposite direction with a look on her face of surprise and nonchalantness. Because quite honestly she didn't care so long as he didn't go attempting to grind up on her again. That'd be quite a tale to spin later on as she entered her first period History class. She was astute at that, her Step-father had spent his time boding over intriguing history algorithms and left them strewn about the house for little Jayr to come and explore, little would she know it was a planned process. Jayr would quickly aim to settle a spot near the middle finding herself interested but not wanting to appear as though she were a nerd. Image was everything.

Alex's eyes flared momentarily in surprise as he saw Jayr jerk back putting a bit of distance between the two of them, but then again, he really couldn't blame her for it, who wouldn't after almost about to be seemingly raped but not really. Trying to say something, Alex only succeeded in frustrating himself before turning and walking away, only to nearly palm his own face as he stopped. He had History class now, and he was walking in the OPPOSITE direction that he was suppose to go. Turning around, he headed down the same way Jayr had gone, walking into the classroom once he reached it, only to halt in mid-step, if this was an anime, he'd have a sweat drop on the back of his head, as he saw Jayr was in the same class. "..." Oh yeah, this was going to be a greaaaaat class. Ignoring her, he walked down the aisle past her as he threw himself into the desk located at the right back corner.
Slouching slightly in his seat, he lightly folded his arms across his chest, as he pulled his red sunglasses off and tucked them away inside his leather jacket, as the bell rang, signifying class had started. Scowling slightly, Alex listened intently to the lecture, but for the most part, kept to himself. The teacher then announced she was going to give the class an assignment to be done in class and in partners, as the class groaned, but she wasn't done just yet, indicated by the wide smirk on her face. "Settle down people, I'm not done yet. Yes, you'll be working in partners... that I've already picked." Ignoring the complaints from the class, the teacher began to read off names from the list he had, eventually reaching Alex's name. "Kazu-- I mean Alex Hikari and..." Alex just sat there, looking unhappy at whom he was partnered with, but then again, his hawk eyes made him appear unhappy constantly, even when he wasn't. The teacher then handed out the assignment, and told them they could use any research material that they needed, before telling them to start working on it for the remainder of class.

Class Time Shock After finding her seat Jayr was rather energetic, the jovial roll of his shoulders sparking something of chatter behind her. She was hopeful this class would turn around her otherwise miserable week until of course. He had to walk in. Great! Just freaking great. The pencil upon which Jayr had been chewing was efficiently bitten into showing the ravaged bits of wood splinter around her perfect bite.
"...."
This was not good, let alone it was about to entirely ruin her day. Rolling her eyes Jayr's eyes focused forward crossing her legs and hands crossing together to focus all attention forward. No more eavesdropping at the rumors coming from the back. Damn her fun was to be ruined and now she was paying attention certainly something that was secondhand to her actual interests.
"...Jayr Byrne."
"Yes?"
Her attention jolted upward. Alright so she wasn't paying attention that didn't mean she was day dreaming was it? Certainly not. The teacher turned around with an abysmal look as though she'd been used to her students doing such things.
"You and Alex will be working together on the assignment."
"Oh?" Jayr quickly turned red recognizing the quick burst of laughter as the room began splitting up into teams. Her eyes registering quickly to look around hoping that this Alex was a nice girl. Jayr would sit up straight and neat patiently awaiting the one she'd expect to come place their table beside hers.

Unfazed by the feelings of hostility from Jayr, which consisted of her biting into the pencil she had been chewing on before he had walked in, he completely ignored her and sat by himself, one glare from him was enough to shut up the people that had started whispering the moment he arrived. His arms folded across his chest, he had been frustrated before class but had kept in under control, but with all the whispers and rumors around him, he was starting to get irritated. When he heard who he was partnered with, if this was an anime, he would have an anger mark, now this was just cruel. He heard Jayr answer when her name was called, apparently she hadn't been paying attention, as evident by the abysmal look on the teacher's face. The class erupted in peals of laughter before each of them paired up with their assigned partner.
Scowling slightly, Alex rose up out of his desk and walked over to Jayr, as he dragged one of the desks over and threw himself into the seat, sitting beside her. "..." It was pretty obvious he wasn't exactly thrilled to be paired with her, as he folded his arms so tightly it would be years before they would loosen. "... I don't care if you like me or not. Hate me, ignore me, I honestly don't care. But I ain't about to fail or end up making you fail because we can't work on this assignment together. If you want to kick my ass because of what I did, fine, I probably deserve it, but let's just get through this assignment first, alright?" Alex said simply, the noise level in the classroom was loud enough that no one else except for Jayr could hear him talk. "... Truce... for now... alright? You can go back to waging war on me after."

Just my Luck "..."
The quick thrust of the desk seemed to be amplified in the short space, sure with the massive noise coming from everyone else in the room it didn't seem like much but in the short and contained space the two were in and facilitating all that'd happened before it kind of made her bounce a tad out of shock.
Her lips pursed sharply though in an irritated fashion more than anything else. Knuckles turning white from her sharp grip, yeah today was not going to be a great time, not for her and she certainly would make sure he didn't get his rocks off this time. With a fiery expression Jayr turned back into the seat making sure her distance from him sent a clear message there was to be no touching of any kind even if it be helpful.
"... I don't care if you like me or not. Hate me, ignore me, I honestly don't care. But I ain't about to fail or end up making you fail because we can't work on this assignment together. If you want to kick my ass because of what I did, fine, I probably deserve it, but let's just get through this assignment first, alright?"
It came to a point now when she was grinding her teeth roughly contemplating to sock the boy right in the face for what he was doing now let alone what he'd done. But like hell it was within the teacher's power to stop anything, so for now she had to at least play a bit nice, make sure she wasn't taken advantage of. Features scrunching forward to show her expressions clearly and giving her a bit of a red and embarrassed tint.
"... Truce... for now... alright? You can go back to waging war on me after."
*Slap*
A quick backhand across his face as she'd take in large and tired breaths shaking a bit. She'd lost a bit of composure there now things would be handled normally at the very least on a hospitable level assuming he wasn't planning on retaliating, "Something like what you did isn't something you can just call quits on, or even act like it didn't happen."
Her breath coming out heated turning about a few faces to be more attentive, in fact if they didn't know about the prerequisites there'd be scrutiny that the two were in a relationship.
"Lets just do this, then I can get back to my life and you can just leave me alone." Her tone harsh an unforgiving.

Cocking an eyebrow at Jayr's reaction, Alex out a low "tch" as he noticed her knuckles turn white from her grip, clearly annoyed more than anything else. Ignoring the fiery glare she gave him, she turned back into her seat putting distance between the two of them, which was just fine with him, boy, the teacher must be getting a real kick out of watching them the two of them glare daggers at each other. Hearing her grind her teeth, Alex just wanted to finish the stupid assignment so he could get out of here. Although her features were scrunched, giving her a bit of an embarrassed look, it was not so, she was ready to snap... now. His hand just a blur, he caught her wrist with his hand, as he shifted his gaze over and glared at her, a fierce and intense expression on his face, frightening enough that the other students literally back away from them, as she took in large breaths, shaking a bit. "... Don't think for a second that I haven't forgotten. You think I wanted to hurt you like that? Think again." He said in a low voice, his hand shaking from gripping her wrist, preventing her from slapping him.
"... You're bold, I'll give you that. But it'll only get you so far in this school before someone here will come along and kick your ass just for the hell of it." He then released her wrist, before rising out of his chair and heading towards the door. "Mr. Hikari! Where are you--" "Library." Alex muttered, not waiting for the teacher to answer as he pulled the door open before shutting it behind him, as he quickly trudged down the hallway towards the library... and the rooftop. He had been very close to snapping, and when he was enraged, it wasn't a pretty sight. He didn't need to do something stupid like send every student in his class to the infirmary simply because he was irritated at one girl. His fists clenched up, his arms shook slightly from the effort to keep his temper in check, he didn't care if she forgave him or not. But he wasn't about to cause more trouble for Kevala and give her another reason to murder him.

Afraid of a little girl The fierce grip at her hand just sent Jayr back into the shock she felt in the bathroom, though this time worse as her eyes jolted open not out of fear of him but some invisible spectra that had control over her in some world. Her breath caught in her throat and her beat increased a gulp in her throat and the sweating brought red embarrassment into her cheeks. Not only was she incapable of doing anything but everyone was watching. The silence was enough to hear a pin drop.
"... You're bold, I'll giv-."
Jayr's leg would jerk out under the table aimed at his crotch, she wasn't going to be taken advantage of not here. Given his grip on her hand as well as the small spacing of the desks it'd be next to impossible to cover himself. Jayr felt fiery as she'd retract her arm and boldly stand away out of the desk looking towards the teacher quickly as well as the people around her. Jayr's breath fiery and unrestrained, "I'd like a new partner....now."
Her stare leveled at the teacher as she moved to the back of the room and sat out of side and under the Air conditioning to cool herself down. Though the tender burning in her cheeks remaining as eyes were still drawn upon her.

"... Tch." Alex muttered, as he released her wrist, he didn't need another disaster on his hands twice in a row, one glare from him was enough to tell the other students not to stare so much, or he really was going to hand their asses to them, as he saw Jayr look embarrassed for real now as he folded his arms across his chest and looked the other way in annoyance. A sudden sharp pain caused him to jump slightly in his seat, as he twitched slightly not from pain, but because he was completely and utterly pissed off. "..." A dull wave of pain shooting through his lower body, Alex quickly shot out of his desk and out of the classroom, as the teacher watched him shoot out of the classroom before turning to Jayr, unfazed by the girl's fiery disposition and bold look she shot at her.
"I'm afraid not Ms. Byrne," She replied as the girl went to the back and sat under the air conditioning, "Mr. Hikari will remain your partner regardless if you two cannot work together, and that's final. Unless you wish to fail this assignment, I suggest you follow Mr. Hikari to the library... NOW." The teacher then looked around and asked why the other students had stopped, unless they wanted to fail the assignment as well, as the students panicked and went back to working on the assignment. Alex trudged down the hallway, although the shot to the nads had hurt initially, there was not much strength behind the kick, the pain had already abated by this time. Stopping at his locker, he undid the lock and opened it, as he rested his arms against his locker and leaned his forehead against his arms, his calculating nature back in control. "... Tch... What a drag..." Slamming his locker door shut, he turned to head down the hallway.

Huffy puffy Good she got him square between the legs, a sharp grin appearing on her face as she had her first major victory at this school and she'd done it all on her own against someone stronger than her. Pretty much what made it all was him keeling to the side to recover.
"I'm afraid not Ms. Byrne Mr. Hikari will remain your partner regardless if you two cannot work together, and that's final. Unless you wish to fail this assignment, I suggest you follow Mr. Hikari to the library... NOW."
Jayr shot a dirty glance back at the teacher, part of her was tempted to take the "F" she was sure if she explained the situation to Alexi or even her mother for that matter that they'd jump on the school board's back and she'd be off quite free and clear. Then again something inside her hesitated when she thought of telling Alexi. Had his training not been good enough? Certainly it had but she couldn't stand the look of failure in his eyes.
"You've got to be fucking with me?" Jayr persisted her tone hotty and irritated as she grasped up her books and tossed them along with her weight to the side, "Fine!"
She wasn't up to deal with anyone right now, and besides she had a plan to deal with the dirtbag named Alex. Striding down the hall she hesitated when he'd look up from his locker, Jayr would huff loudly and turn the opposite way and long route to the library just to avoid his presence.
It took her a good three minutes to trek around the school campus to eventually get to the library seeing as how she'd never been there till just now. Upon her entry she'd take a conscious glimpse about the room before settling near the front desk so the librarian could watch over her.

Alex's gaze shifting over as he saw a sharp grin appear on Jayr's face, he had to resist the urge to palm his own face, the only reason Jayr managed to land a critical to the nads was because HE CAN'T SEE THROUGH DESKS. As soon as he was out of the classroom and away from her, he felt the pain quickly subside, at least it wasn't as bad as he thought it was. Unfazed by the dirty glance shoot her way, the teacher would not budge on her decision, no matter what. "I'm afraid not Ms. Byrne, and no amount of dirty looks will make me change my mind." She replied, unaffected by Jayr's fiery and irritated tone of voice as she grabbed her books and tossed them into her bag. "I'm glad to see we're on the same page." She said as she watched her leave the classroom after Alex. Standing at his locker, the sound of footsteps made him shift his gaze over as he saw Jayr stride down the hallway only to hesitate as he peered over at her before she huffed loudly and turned around, heading down the opposite way.
"... Tch." He muttered, as he slammed his locker shut and headed to the library, reaching it long before Jayr did, as he threw himself into the chair at the far end of the table near the front desk. His arms folded across his chest, he scowled slightly as he saw Jayr come in, taking a conscious glimpse around before sitting down at the opposite end of the table he was at, near the librarian. His head turned to the side, if anyone walked past, no doubt they would see the two of them staring daggers at each other, though in Alex's case, how was that any different from how he normally looked? His eyes were fierce and intense regardless if he was unhappy or not. Rising up out of his chair, Alex headed to the far end of the library, not just to get away from Jayr, but also to actually find some books and information for the assignment. Though sooner or later, she'd have to go to where he was, seeing as the information needed was at the shelf he was currently searching. OH JOY.

(ooc: dunno what exactly we're looking for any ideas?) Some Ground Rules.... Jayr had an indefinite amount of patience, growing up out of a household run by her mother had taught her nothing but how to play dominant in situations, there needed to be an alpha to every situation and that'd only been bolstered when Alexi moved in with them. The man had taught her how to fight, how to defend herself and use that dominance as she would, though more often than not it came off much more as being a bitch than much else. Though thats what made her Jayr.
So setting that aside she slunk forward in the library writing on the subject freehand what she knew. This was good because history was actually one of her better subjects to refer to so it'd stall the actual research she needed to take up and hopefully by that time Alex would be gone or writing his own portion.
With the decay of modernization and the plebeian caste system that was indoctrinated throughout all of modern Europe at the time there were indefinite conclusions that would end in the pioneers voyage to America. Along with the Enlightenment which was probably the most significant cause to future portrayals of culture and government.....
Jayr froze up her mind blanking on where she wanted to go next. Damn, this meant she could either sit there pouting profusely or engage the opponent. Now the thing is Jayr was much more and offensive personality, the best defense is a good offense as Hugh Jackman would state. With a slender nod she'd pick up grabbing her books and heading down the aisle stopping short of him. With an extended finger she'd aim to direct his attention.
"Okay ground rules; One you're not aloud to talk to me unless it pertains to our topic, Two there will be no touching of any kind no looking of any kind and certainly no thinking of any kind unless it is in relation to the assignment." Jayr would speak quickly demanding he focus up quickly to learn fast or get out of her way.
"Any of these are violated I'll go straight back to Kevala myself," Her lips pursed evidently put off by the thought but she weighted her options there'd not be another chance at taking him down all too easily on her own.

(OOC: I WISH. Oh, you meant In Character? Uh... research wise, ancient Japan I guess? I was gonna wing it, to be honest XD)
Alex's gaze shifting over as Jayr entered in his field of vision and extended a finger at him, he'd seemingly glare at her from the corner of his eye, when in actuality, he was just looking at her. That's how it was when one had eyes resembling a hawk. It unintentionally made him look like a delinquent and unhappy all the time. "... Tch. Fine, whatever." No way I'd touch a girl as cold as that. Scowling slightly, he'd look the other way like he wasn't interested, as he folded his arms across his chest. "... Tch, I'm not afraid of you, your threat, or Kevala." He retorted, as he walked down the aisle and stopped in front of the section containing books on ancient Japan, specifically the Kamakura Shogunate. His eyes scanning the rows from top to bottom, he pulled a book off the top shelf and opened it, as he began to skim through it looking for any important and relevant information pertaining to the assignment.
If it meant not causing any more trouble for Kevala, he wouldn't look, glare, not even glance at Jayr. His life had already been on the line once, he wasn't about to risk it again. Turning to head back to the table, he paused before reaching up to the very top shelf and pulled down one of the books he saw had information regarding their assignment. "... Here," He said, holding out the book for her as he looked the other way, "This should have a decent amount of information on the Kamakura Shogunate. If you need me, I'll be looking for more research material we can use." He would then head down to the far end of the aisle, well away from the actual section that had the information they needed. He just wanted to keep as far away as possible, as he peered down at the book he still had in his hand. "..." Running away wouldn't solve anything, he was going to tackle this situation head on. He then went to the front desk and took out the book, before making a beeline straight for the rooftop.
