Awkward Meeting (Jack/Zeke/Open)

She noted the bit of shock and her head ducked down quickly, hiding away her wrist and such as she turned her attention back to Zeke. Those words only making her feel that much worse.

He had been so attached to Gabriel ever since all this happened. Which irked Kev to no end. Not because she held anything against the man, she loved him for gods sake.....It was because Ezekial had a Father who was in the process of not giving a fuck....

Not that she ever expected more out of Nathaniel than what she got.

Either way she would kiss his cheek and smile...

"Soon enough baby...okay?"

Hoping that would appease him for now as she turned her attention back to Jack and offered up a weak little smile.

"Something I said?"

Her eyes looking to his for a moment before going elsewhere.

If Jack were a smart man he may have been able to link everything together, but he wasn't. Jack returned Kevala's smile, his eyes followed to what ever Kevala was looking at.

"wotcha looking at?"

Jack would ask with a small smile, his curiosity peeking for a brief moment. His mind drifted to the activities that awaited them tonight. He inwardly shied away at the thoughts almost giggling at the idea. To be honest the idea that Kevala and Jack could ever have a normal relationship was ludicrous. That however didn't mean he wouldn't try nor that they wouldn't one day have a normal relationship, only it wouldn't be an easy journey. Yet at the end of the day if Jack had to weigh up the risks and the potential rewards he would choose Kevala.

Zeke did not like this guy. He was a big meany stink head and the emotions that poured out of this guy were the equivalent of some kind of stinky baby food mush that he would rather die than eat.

Yes, he was about as charming and nice as strained, mushed cabbage.

Shooting him a glare, yes a glare, that was far advanced for one his age he would narrow his eyes and then turn attention back to his Mommy, that sweet innocent look once more in place.

Was he advanced?

Probably more than most people would ever know.

Was he gonna let his nature be known to his Mommy?

PFT!!! Yeah right!

The woman thought he could do no wrong and that was juuuuust how he wanted it to stay.

Smiling that sweet little smile he would lean in and press a kiss to her cheek, giggling once more as he bounced about happily in her lap......

"Eke show Unky Gabe dinosaw!!"

Yes he was a bit distracted, as tended to happen, but he was snuggled up to Mommy and the big stinky head was not....Sooo

She looked back down at her wrist, thinking over the situation and figuring that there was no real point in hiding it. Raising her hand she used the other to remove the cuff from her wrist, showing the cast like bandage that immobilized her wrist from bending, letting the break heal.

The bruises along her arm now clear as she shrugged and let out a soft sigh.

"My injury....Family get togethers are always fun."

She laughed a bit nervously and then was distracted by that sweet little innocent face that came back into view. A smile curling on her lips as she nodded to his statement.

"Yes you can show Uncle Gabriel your new game. I am sure he will be very impressed."

His nephew was building stuff up, and creating situations in which the poor people of his imaginary city stood no chance against his wrath......What more could a proud Uncle such as Gabriel ask for?

Turning back to Jack, she looked at him a bit quizzically. Something felt off.....As though she were missing the bigger picture here.....Though she had no clue what that could be.

Shaking her head she just smiled and set about hiding that bandage once more. No need to let others see it. Where would the logic be in showing off her weakness? Heh.....

"So what time should I come by?"

"My injury....Family get togethers are always fun."

"I can imagine"

Jack would look on with a smile at the little interaction between Kevala and Zeke. It was something he never really shared with anyone, his mother was always at work as well as his father. They rarely got to even be in the same room together which is why, Jack has such a strong need for family. He wondered on how Kevala's childhood would have been, so different to Jack's yet the end the same. Two damaged human beings who've found a gateway to something better yet there are chain holding them back.

"So what time should I come by?"

"What ever suits you.."

Jack would say as he let off a little chuckle.
