Deorc Veritas
Head Quarters
"A Demon is simply an Angel seen from a different perspective."
______________________________
LOCATION
The esteemed headquarters of the notorious gang DeorcVeritas is located in the center of Sand Diego, on the 15th floor of a twenty-storey office building that was acquired through the sheer genius of Phoenix with the supreme backing of the monster that is Jack O’Connor. The office complex is easily accessible as it is veritably surrounded by public transport and has a taxi rank opposite the main building.
ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN
The architecture of the office building itself is, despite being extremely modern, nothing special. Outwardly, it resembles every building next to it and is constructed out of glass and metal with many tinted windows to obscure the vision of anyone trying to glean secrets from the occupants of the building.
Every floor is designed in exactly the same way, with the exception of the fifth highest floor. The floors from Ground through to 14 and from 16 to 20 are all exactly he same, that being a room filled to the brim with tight, compact cubicles that workers from various organizations and companies spend their entire day in. However, on the 15th floor, the layout of the rooms has been radically altered.
First of all, the security upon this floor was almost an infinite number of times greater than that of the floors below and above. The elevator that leads to the fifteenth floor has no button for the fifteenth floor; instead, there is a keycard slot in which each member needs to place his/her own unique keycard in to allow the elevator to reach the fifteenth floor. After the doors of the elevator have opened onto the fifteenth floor, the member standing within the confines of the elevator will see, directly in front of him/her, the reception desk which is manned by a constantly rotating and capable staff who have each memorized all known members of the association. To exit the lobby and get past the receptionist, the member must be subjected to a retina and finger print scan before using the keycard once more to open the door that is located directly behind the receptionist.
Once past this door, the member would find himself or herself in a small rectangular room with a door on both his/her right and left. The door on the left is made of a dark, polished and strong looking mahogany wood and is titled Invictus in gold lettering across the door, the door on the right is made of the same material and is exactly the same in every detail except that it is titled Scathách . Another door lies within this room, however, where it leads and the uses of the room behind it are reserved for the upper echelons of the association.
Should the member of the association belong to the Invictus (martial) Division then their unique keycard will grant them access through the door to the right and only access through the door on the right, their keycard will not work on the door on the left. The same applies for the members of the Scathách (Intelligence) Division, except in vice versa.
If the member is allowed access through the Invictus door then they would find themselves situated in a thin and long hallway that contains three doors, the first two lead to the squad rooms of Sanguis and Thanatos respectively. To gain entry to one of the squad rooms, the member of the association must be either an allocated member of that squad or equal to the rank of captain or above. The Invictus squad rooms are almost exactly the same in design and usage. Both squad rooms contain a centerpiece of a conference table that can seat up to six members and contain a few laptops, as well as a TV and bar. The third door in the thin hallway of the Invictus division leads to the shared training gym for both squads.
If the member is allowed access through the Scathách door then they would find themselves situated in a thin and long hallway that contains three doors, the first two doors lead to the squad rooms of Scientia and Timoris respectively. To gain entry to one of the squad rooms, the member of the association must be either an allocated member of that squad or equal to the rank of captain or above. The Scathách squad rooms are almost exactly the same in design and usage. Both squad rooms contain a centerpiece of a conference table that can seat up to six members and contain a few laptops, a desktop and a TV. The third door in the thin hallway of the Scathách division leads to the shared training gym for both squads.
The shared training gym is the only area in which both squads are allowed, however, because of the nature of the divisions, the gym and training room is dominated by the presence of members from the Invictus division. The training room and gym contains two complete sets of dumbbells, a couple of exercise bikes and jogging machines plus a basketball ring. Instead of meeting within the gym, many of the members from the Scathách division choose to interact over the secure network between their squad rooms.
The purpose of the design is to separate the two squads, allowing them to focus upon the tasks given to them by their captains or superior officers. It is forbidden within the headquarters for members of different divisions to talk about their own squad rooms. The design of the squad rooms can, however, be altered by the captain of the squad.
