A burst of speed here and there as Guy moved just fast enough to tail Astrid and just slow enough to keep from outrunning Jammys. Though at this point it was clear he was getting better at deviating from his clumsy nature. Springing and hopping till they'd reached the end of the row of building Guy came upon the final building shifting his eyes downward to see Astrid already at the bottom. His eyes peered at what would be a rusty pole, certainly sturdier than most things but chances are you'd get a disease just by touching it.
*slide*
"Ouch"
*bump*
"Ouch"
"..."
Atop his head came Jammys sliding fast to intersect with his head before the group bolted once more. Off to the woods again it'd seemed which was fine with the pair, as previously mentioned it was their favored pastime.
"Cool huh?....From what I can tell, nobody really comes here...which is awesome. You guys can sooo not tell anyone. Kies?"
"Woooooow cool" Guy said stammering as he walked about in a circle his curious eyes teetering to located every little rock and stream. Jammys did much of the same yet without moving from his position in the woods.
"Promise, this could be like our secret hideout, and we can build a fort, and tunnels, and rope bridges, and it can be like an epic adventure time place!" Guy rambled on full of excitement as he ran about the open space.

Astrid sat down finally by the waters edge, curling her knees up to her chest and resting her head upon them as she hugged them close to her body. As Guy moved about, his rambling made her giggle and shake her head. She honestly really liked this guy, he was funny, smart in his own ways....and just silly enough to make her happy....Totally cool buddy .......Yeah..mind didnt go to far from that. Heh
Then her attention became caught by Jammys who was still lingering in the area near the tree line, her brow raising slightly.
"Pst! Guy!"
She whispered, her eyes full of curiosity and a bit of worry as she waited for him to look at her and then motioning with her head toward where the other one stood....Clearly asking what was up without words.....
She would have asked herself, but she knew that right now he still probably felt more comfy with Guy than her......
Her blond hair catching in the breeze and blowing about her form as she used her hand to try and pin it down.

"Pst! Guy!"
snapped out of little fantasy world of the merry men or musketeers playing bouts of Robin Hood, or pirates, or even the fable secret agent men. Guy turned headlong practically yanking the rest of his body around as his head turned to meet them.
"Yeah?"
He followed the motion of her head to Jammys who still lingered by the edge of the tree-line his eyes fixated on the waters edge with a tad bit of cautiousness.
Guy would pace forward towards Jammys, sliding his hand around his little brother's shoulder before leading him cautiously towards the edge before guy slipped his feet in the water letting his teeth chatter briefly before turning to Astrid.
"He doesn't know how to swim."
"It's okay Jammys, just put your feet in water can't eat you." A ginger giggle trying to make the talk less serious and more jovial.

Ah, so that was it. Well now she just felt much worse for these two and that much more protective...Yes she could feel that way thank you very much!
Smiling a reassuring smile she shrugged.
"Swimming is not all that great really. Just a way to get wet and stay that way."
Her tone seeming to down play the awesomeness of swimming even though in her mind she found it amazingly fun. But she was never one to make somebody feel left out.
So instead of stripping down to jump in like she had wanted to do, she did the right thing, which was to slip off her shoes and socks and slide her feet into the water...
"See Jammys..this is fine...No worries bout just putting your feet in."
Wiggling her toes in the water she smiled brightly and then cast a little glance up to Guy....
Hell for all she knew she was making things worse..he knew the kid, she didnt ....... yet

"See Jammys..this is fine...No worries bout just putting your feet in."
Guy's eyes narrowed in a humored squink as Astrid played a very childhood game. Course being his age he caught on very quickly to the play noting that it'd been used again him many times before.
"S'ok Guy Brownies are actually poop"
"Then why are you eating it?"
The dull stares in returnas he managed to outsmart them but not save his brownie from utter destruction. So in other words the water was like Jammys' Brownie and Guy had the duty of a big brother to get him anoter brownie.
"Besides its cold.. brrr," Guy shuddered pulling his feet out of the pool with a bit of a hop to his step carrying himself across the clearing till he was at the base of the tree.
"Jammys bet I can beat you to the top!" The challenge ushered as Guy ran headlong into the wide tree base ending up about three inches off the ground with arms and legs clasped around the tree for security.
"A lil' help?"
Jammys would giggle at the remark slightly enjoying Guy's moment of pain.

Astrid laughed as she watched Guy end up in full make out position with the tree....Shaking her head as she placed her hands behind her head and then laid back, feeling the cool ground against her back through her shirt.
Eyes cast up to the small clearing above them to the stars that danced in the sky.............
__________________________________________
"Daddy? Where do the stars come from?"
The little 7 year old girl tugged on her Daddy's arm, pulling his attention toward her. He turned his head, even though that black band remained wrapped about his eyes.
For some reason, even with his eyes covered, since as long as she could remember.....she always felt as though he could really see her. Despite his being blind. He saw her like nobody else could or ever would.....
"They are the spirits of those who have died. They are there to guide us, not only on a long nights journey but through our lives as well. Whenever you fee lost...just look at the stars and you will find your way."
Lifting her up into his lap, her wrapped his arms about her, a smile spreading on her face.
______________________________________________
Astrid shook her head, tears having filled her eyes and spilled down out of her the corners of such without her even noticing...having lost herself to the memory...
Quickly she wiped her face and sniffled a bit to straighten up, casting her eyes about to make sure nobody saw that shit.
Fuck!
"Am I gonna have to show you how to properly climb a tree again? Though I am betting Jammys could so whip your ass."
Yeah nice cover...that should work.

Part 1: Jammys
The pensive stare derived from a lineage of horrible ties. Jammys had an older brother at one point, one not too different from Guy himself but it'd seemed as though his parents drove everyone away. His brother left Jammys to fend for himself although not knowing his brother's birth was imminent at the time he'd left him and Jammys feared such pain again.
His subtle stare watching as big brother Guy sported his way towards being a child and running at the tree probably knowing full well what he'd had in mind to begin with. Jammy's knew Guy better than anyone and he wasn't dumb, sure dim at times but more often than not it was just a front so people could demean him and not ask him for anything. He was the type of boy to give endlessly of himself and ask for nothing in return. Though the prospect of friendship was greatly wanting.
"..."
A short giggle emerged as Jammys watched the big idiot. Silly Boy.
His body turning about to watch Astrid, her body catching back to take to the floor and relax her fair share stretching out. A tear noticed only by the silent one as he wondered.
'Why does she cry?'
Clearly on the surface there was no reason to be sad, they were friends were they not, entitled to have fun and forgo each other's shortcomings to be there when the other needed them and seek out the best in one another. Simple biology a think Jammys knew little of.
His small frame would inch closer and look up to her. His hidden little hands would pry free from his large hoodie and hand her a handkerchief.
The lines of a smile emerging there.
Part II: Guy
The taste of wood in your mouth was very unpleasant both as a sexual innuendo and as a physical resurgent. Though Guy would know all about that being face deep in the willow tree he clasped so tight unto. His face buried there and unwilling to leave as he'd notice the short and unnoticeable little extension directed clearly at his crotch. He was going to feel that one shortly. Not moving to speak or shift
"Am I gonna have to show you how to properly climb a tree again? Though I am betting Jammys could so whip your ass."
"mmmm yeah probably considering my junk is officially smooshed.."
With a rough grunt Guy would stumble over backwards crashing into the ground. The pain massive.

Astrid noted the movement coming toward her, and shifted her head to see Jammys there, offering her a handkerchief....Offering him a friendly little smile she shifted to sit up, taking it and wiping her face before offering it back.
As Guy started to speak she leaned in and whispered a hushed little thank you to Jammys, no need for Guy to know about her little....leak...heh....Then with a gentle shift she pressed a somewhat friendly, gracious kiss upon the other boys cheek.
Flashing him one last smile she settled back into tomboy mode, having clearly been in girly mode just now......Hopping up and strolling over to Guy, nudging him with her foot.....
"Well this time you are sooo on your own with the fixing up of your owwies....I am NOT going near that one."
She giggled and then moved over to the tree line, grasping a branch as she jumped up and swinging there....Looking down at Guy as she waited for him to get up......
"Come on lazy ass. Cant be waiting on you forever you know..."
That teasing grin now in place of the soft feminine smile she had had only moments before....No worries about the other kid telling Guy she was really a girl in disguise...

Jammys blushed with small rosy cheeks, his normally dark skin lit up light a bulb as he shrugged off the small act as though there was nothing behind it but in a way Jammys was happy. The kid with such a cold background turning a liking to Guy's lifestyle, that of intrigue and often idiocy. The small boy rolled his eyes and rolled up his excessively long sleeves pulling alongside Astrid with a formidable pace his eyes dropping to Guy as the boy lingered there satisfied with lying in the dirt. Eyes fixated on the stars above through an opening in the tree's heavy branches.
"Hey guys...."
His hands would rise above his chest making a picture motion with his hands as he aimed them at the stars. "Isn't that just....beautiful..."
His face transfixed at the skies above. When Guy was younger it was always the Stars that guided him, always West. Follow the setting star and you'll be there when tomorrow comes.
"I wish it was darker so we'd have a better look." An envious look to the stars wishing he was up there too, shinning.

Astrid lowered herself to sit beside Guy, finally laying back and once more casting her gaze up to where his own was now held.....Her hands resting on her stomach and brushing over the little bit of exposed flesh there.....
"Where I was raised.....You could see them in all their brilliance...Always there to guide you if ever you were lost..."
She sighed, closing her eyes as she struggled to keep back the memories that threatened to weaken her resolve. She could not let those things that haunted her change the girl she had become.....It was too painful and as she could not bare the pain any longer...
It was easier to just..........forget....or try to at least.
"Maybe one day I can show you....."
She had never been back to the old homestead...The one she had destroyed in her fit of rage that night....yet it still rested there...broken and alone......Just like her..........One day she would go back....She had to......She could not move on with her future unless she confronted her past........One of the last things Uncle Leon had taught her......
