Astrid had gotten home from her rather unusual day, one that involved her getting asked out on her first date ever. It was strange, sure, she was 17 and had never been on a date. Most of the girls in her class either made fun of her for it, or just considered her damaged goods and kept clear...Which totally sucked at the moment because as she paced the small living area of her dorm she was all kinds of confused.
Then, as she made her fifty-thousandth stride across the room her sneaker kicked something, drawing her attention downward for a moment....
The case to Star Wars slid across the floor and landed against a pile of clothes.....
Guy......
Duh!!
She then grabbed up her hat, tugging it on her head and then headed out the door, making sure to grab her key and tuck it into the black band about her wrist...
It took a little while to actually find the damn "home" he lived in, and by the time she did, she was not entirely sure that she was in the best part of town to be walking around without a gun.
But yeah, she was not one to back down, despite her lack of ability in a fight.
Standing in front of the building, a flickering, nearly dead street light illuminating her features in brief and uneven intervals, she decided that it was too late to be just walking up to the front door....
Fuuuuu
Well that left one option...Window....
Sadly though she didnt know which was his, so that again left one option...Start at the bottom and ask directions.
So, as she moved to the fist window where she saw kids doing shit they so should not be doing in this place, she tapped on the window, scaring the shit out of them.....
It took her three windows and three sets of unhappy, scared or creepy faces to find the right one.....
Crawling up to it, she tapped against the old and rattly glass, figuring it wasnt locked, cause yeah, why would a place like this invest in locks on the windows when you could easily just bust through the damn things.....she lifted it up, her tone a soft whisper as she called out....
"Pst! Guy!"
Oceanic blue eyes looking about the room and feeling her stomach tumble. Gods....he actually LIVED here? No wonder he didnt really seem too eager to talk about it......
Attention being drawn back to the matter at hand....Now where was he? She totally needed a buddy to talk to at the moment.....

The "Home" Evidently a downtrodden place for individuals who were going nowhere in life. Thats how it seemed to people who passed by it, and even to the kids who lived there, the place had a run down depressed style to it. Dirty, shanty, and broken bits of everything dangling off of the things you'd expect for Realtors to double check to be in fine living conditions but it seemed as though there was no true motivation to stick to living here. A black hole from where no one emerged. "Alright Chill'ens Dinna's Up!" Mamma called, the fiery passion still welling in her throat as she set aside a few large vats of assorted knock-off meals she'd smuggled out of the dollar grocery store. The Government only paid so well to keep this place in check, and everything that she earned went back into the place. "Pecking order Snitch!" A harsh shove from Chris, the apparent pack leader, as he shoved aside the smaller boys to the back of the line as he took in his 1 sts, 2 nds, and 3 rds to appease whatever dietary meals he was sticking to nowadays. One such boy did his best to avoid the animal senses that raged at the dinner table as he lingered in last taking spot at the back, even behind the younger boys he was bigger than. Jammys, the boy had a set of gold eyes and a face that'd melt your heart if he ever smiled. Silent and absent at the wheel he drifted through this place with little attention to anything. A quick yank at his collar as Guy happily pulled him to the middle right ahead of him. "K'mon Jammys take my spot." Guy all too livid with excitement to be talked out of it as Jammys waved his hands in defiance. "You gotta speak to tell me no.." Guy chuckled at the cruel joke though his intentions were good and Jammys realized such enough not to protest. "...""G'd afternoon Mamma." Guy proclaimed just enough for him and Jammys as the dark skinned woman turned upwards with a kind smile laddeling out each of the boys a good share of beans to scrounge over. "Here boys... Don't tell the others but I managed to get'chu a chicken wing.." She nudged Jammys and got a fair grin out of him. "Thank you Ma'm"She was a kind heart and didn't play favorites, the older boys knew by this point she told everyone that just to get a smile out of them and make them feel special and better than the others. Feel wanted. And it worked for most. She was a kind hearted woman. A rough shove from Chris sent Jammys to the floor spilling his food to the floor where Chris planted a foot into it taking the chicken he "deserved." "Eat that mute boy..." A dark snicker erupting from his throat. Both Jammys and Guy looking away out of fear. Moments passed and the boys retired to their room. Guy slipping the smaller "brother" his own plate of food. "Here Jammys have some." A smile offered and Jammys stayed quiet trying to refuse the meal. "...""Don't make me shove it down your throat Jammys, you're skin and bones and need it more.""..." The silent stare back as he leaned in to eat a bit not taking more than half as he left the rest to Guy as the boy teetered off to sleep. Guy in a restless state remained there watching the boy. How he worried about him, all too often to be normal. "Hey Guy, someone's rattlin' the windows go hit em!" Reggie would shout from the adjacent bedchamber knocking at the wall for attention. "Pst! Guy!""Astird?"Guy would lunge to the window with a smile as the sudden shock to the failing bars woke Midas from his sleep sending the bird into a panicked Screech. "GUY GET THAT BIRD OUTTA HERE!"The Home seemed to shout in unison as Guy bolted to the front door Midas in hands as he clamped them both over the bird protectively receiving a sharp bite from his beak over the boy's thumb. The whole time Jammys rested without a budge. *Clank*Guy popped out the front letting loose Midas as the bird scuttled off into the night flying straight into Astrid's chest probably searching for protection.

Astrid noted the way that people seemed to be acting in this place, it was enough to get her brow to raise every now and again, but she paid little mind to it. Instead she focused on one person she had come here to see.
Hearing her name leave his lips she grinned and shook her head.
"Nah, Juliet...Who else would it be?"
She laughed, her eyes lighting up with what little light there was available outside.
Then she heard the sound of an owl screeching, only to be followed by the entire house seeming to come to life in protest.
Then it was Guy in a mad dash to get the bird out, get himself out, and keep people from flipping out...FUN TIMES!!
Hopping down, she stood on the sidewalk, listening to the complaints still echoing from inside, as well as the occasional thud and bump which she guessed was Guy trying to get outside.
Yeahhh so Mr. Cool, it wasn't even funny.
The thought making her laugh softly to herself, her hand coming up to cover her mouth softly to muffle the sound. Not like anyone could hear her, but yeah, she didnt want to take the chance on a person of "unsavory" character being the one to hear her.
Then the door opened and out spilled Guy...The owl, clearly agitated flying off into the night.
She could have handled the situation better she supposed, but as it stood, she figured she had not caused that much of a ruckus inside.
Right?
Well, it didnt matter now. Moving over to him, she reached out, her small hand gripping his wrist as she tugged him along.
"Come on...I sooo gotta talk to you."
Moving around to the side of the building and casting her eyes upward. Of course, the fire escape was there, but broken....Nothing was ever easy.
Hopping up onto a trash bin, she angled herself and then jumped the distance to the unmoving stairwell of the fire escape. Climbing up on it, she got to the first landing, and then signaled for him to follow.
All the while hoping like mad inside her mind that he didnt like, fall on his ass, or some shit like that.
Once he was level with her again, she grabbed his wrist again and continued to drag him along with her until they reached the final landing, she would release him to climb up onto the railing and then draw in a deep breath, using the window ledge and several cracks in the wall to pull herself up until she was on the roof where she could lay down on her stomach and extend her arm over the side, looking down at him as she did.
"Need a hand Mr. Cool? Or you got it?"
Figuring she would offer just the same, and then once he was there, move to the center of the roof and lay down on her back...patting the area next to her.....
Not really saying much right away...Not sure where the hell to start.

"Come on...I sooo gotta talk to you."
The sharp rip by the wrist tugging him along, he felt as though if this kept up he'd have some serious case of whiplash going on. Or perhaps if even at the slightest his wrists would be sliced up from the constant grip.
Tugging in the direction at top speed to an adjacent roof. Hopefully so too because quite honestly Guy would contemplate the sturdiness of the roof he lived under. Stopping short of her jump he looked down, not a sense of panic to him because heights weren't his foe rather a sense of aw hell forget it.. He leaped the edge just barely reaching it as the metal band caught Guy by the abs.
"Ouch..." He'd mutter softly remembering the rib pain he'd suffered not too long ago, though thanks to the dressing the would was healing faster than had been expected. Bruising had dulled down to a low throb the brown color standing out but not to an odd degree.
Another ledge to master as he looked up carefully, this looked a bit high, even for him. Though with a kick and a jump Astrid handled it just fine. Perhaps it was the angle he was at. Yeahhhh.
*lunge*
His body cascading to the side of the wall like a gecko and pulled at the nooks of the wall finding a firm enough grip point. His hands fairly lathered with callouses that the pain was hardly noticed.
"Need a hand Mr. Cool? Or you got it?"
"Psh.... I'm cool..." He'd grunt pulling his leg over his head to heft the weight up over the ledge sighing heavily in exchange gathering his composure.
"Ugh.... so you pulled me up here to work my ass out or..?" An exhausted glance upwards to catch his breath. Hands at his knees and back hunched over. Today was fairly long, though he had plenty of time assuming Jammys was still out cold.

Astrid laid there, listening to the heavy sounds of his breathing for a minute before she shrugged, her own breath a bit lost, but yeah, she was used to vigorous activity due to training with Spike and Uncle Leon.
"So was at the skate park earlier today...This dude who I swear looked totally gay comes up, and starts......."
Was she really gonna say what she was about to say? About her?
"Hitting on me......Like..yeah...Massively....Even asked me out...."
She nearly choked on her words as she folded her hands up under her head, her blond hair falling down about her and fanning out on the roof.
She genuinely sounded surprised, confused and lost all at the same time. Not sure that she was really saying this shit. Nobody asked her out...Like...ever....She was not girlfriend material....
She was.....buddy material....little sister material even.....but girlfriend? Psh! Nah.....This guy had to be fucked in the head or something...she just needed somebody to confirm it for her. Cause yeah, she was at a loss at the moment.
Finally she turned her head toward him, her eyes going over him with a bit of worry as she nodded her head toward him.
"So how's the side you snagged on the up climb?"
She may not have been the fastest of the strongest person...but she was very observant...Perhaps too much so at times.....

"Hitting on me......Like..yeah...Massively....Even asked me out...."
Guy gave her an innocent stare something that showed he either wasn't interested or that she divulge more information. Like a name.... and a place. Particularly in his head he was a little drawn to the scenario so what if he would be peeping in on something private, he liked to know things. But as most children learned with the exception of Guy is that curiosity killed the cat.
"So how's the side you snagged on the up climb?"
"Huh? Oh yea that." He looked down lifting up part of his shirt to show his scraggly rib cage partially blackened from the bruises but it looked to be healing up pretty good.
"Yea. Much better though I think I could've handled it myself you know."
He said directly challenging her back. Guy was the playful type. Never the one to be serious when the time called for it.

She laughed softly and shook her head, casting him one last look before turning her gaze back up to the night sky. The city lights blocking out so many of the stars that it was sickening. She so missed the woods around her home, the way that things were always so calm, so peaceful.
She missed sneaking off when Mother was out and watching her Dad train...She knew that despite his eyes being covered, he always knew she was there, he just never said anything.....
"Oh yeah, cause you were doing a bang up job of it before I came along."
She shook her head as she grinned softly, her tongue slipping over her lower lip and then the upper, drawing in a deep breath before she sighed and closed her eyes for a moment.
"Guys name was Donavan Green...."
She then dug a slip of paper out of her pocket, the one Donavan had given her with all the club information and shit on it. Offering it up for Guy to look at as she continued to stare at the sky once more.
"Supposed to be in some kind of band or some shit. Having a gig this weekend....wants me to go....Like...officially go on a date with him....Which is just fucked up..."
Yeah she was being honest...It was fucked up on so many levels....She was not sure she even wanted to go...why had she said yes? She honestly could not remember......

"Oh yeah, cause you were doing a bang up job of it before I came along."
Guy cocked his head back in retort as if her comment had actually been a challenge of some sort. A slanted grin sort of contemplating what he'd say next but rather than freezing to control it the words just pooled out.
"Well if I remember correctly you were pulling me into all those trees."
"Guys name was Donavan Green...."
"...and where did that come from?"
Guy wondered if she was simply bouncing around like there was a pin-ball caught in her head firing off random streams of thought or perhaps it was much more akin to Ping-Pong.
Bash Guy -----------> Think about dreamy gay guy
Bash Guy <----------------Dreamy Gay Guy
A surely epic duel that one could see if there was a periscope into the noddle that she guarded with whatever powers she had of mental telepathy.
Guy caught what was on the paper but shrugged to an uninterested manner his posture slipping back to stare upwards at the sky hearing a short screech of Midas nearby. Either he was hunting now or simply being a pest to those sleeping.
"Supposed to be in some kind of band or some shit. Having a gig this weekend....wants me to go....Like...officially go on a date with him....Which is just fucked up..."
"Meh, Band sounds cool.... Maybe you should just go? Ask him for free food bring some back." Guy smiled his mind orbiting around the ideal of what foods might be offered at this club. Probably strange and exotic kinds.
"..."
*Squaw*
Guy turned about to see Jammys standing at the edge having gotten there without the slightest bit of noise the owl, Midas, perched in his hand. Something cautious in his eyes as he was sizing up Astrid. Like she'd be next to hurt him. So the boy kept his distance lingering barefooted on the edge a silent ghost.
"HEY JAMMYS!" Guy hollered before clasping a hand over his mouth snickering quietly.
"..."

His question caught her off guard at first. Where did what come from? Her mind having long since moved past the conversation and onto other topics of interest......Then it dawned on her what he was talking about and she shrugged, a little nervous laugh escaping her....
"Yeaahhh...I tend to just ramble about whatever is in my head at the moment. Like right now I am thinking about pizza...and how I totally need to get some."
She shrugged and turned her head to look at him as he looked up at the sky, his words making her cringe slightly. But..but...they guy was.....meh....A guy.....and yeah she so did not do the whole guy thing really.
Too much other shit on her mind besides being some love struck teenage girl.
Pft!
"Yeah, he said drinks and shit, but I am more of a food type girl. Maybe I can get him to spring for pizza again and I can bring a couple back here for you..."
The thought really just something that came natural to her. Might as well get something out of this date that she could share with her friend....Right?
It was only logical.
Then there came a sound from the edge of the roof, her eyes shifting to see the kid that stood there, silent as a statue with a worried look on his face.....
Annnd...there went Guy screaming a hello to the kid....
"Smooth one......."
She laughed a bit and then shifted to her side, propping her head up on her hand, her elbow biting into the rooftop.
"Jammys huh? Cool name. I'm Astrid."
She offered up a little wave. Not sure who the kid was but being as nice and friendly to him as she was guy. Only cause Guy seemed to like the kid, so he couldn't be all bad. She hoped.

"Yeah, he said drinks and shit, but I am more of a food type girl. Maybe I can get him to spring for pizza again and I can bring a couple back here for you..."
Guy simply sat up to wink at her a bit over-exaggerated as he did so, "Now you've got the right Idea." He should lurk at the back of her head always and bold whenever the idea of food came up. He could certainly use his share being the scrawny type that he was.
"Smooth one......."
The small boy's stare didn't shift, didn't blink despite the coo of a warm voice. His golden eyes mirroring that of Midas' as he stroked the back of the bird's neck watching it coddle him with a bit of affection.
"Jammys huh? Cool name. I'm Astrid."
"..."
Noting her hand raise up he did the same cautiously observing her every movement and mirroring it to an effect before his head and eyes darted over to Guy as if a question was on his mind.
"Its alright Jammys, she's pretty chill." Guy said appreciatively with a nod as the small boy took a step away from the edge. His pace distanced like that of a trained soldier always in sets of two, always silent without the slightest noise.
"...." His right hand would pull out still carrying Midas at the tip as he offered the bird up to her.
A look of speculation on his face as he began to realize she probably didn't know what to do. Guy and Jammys were really the only two who took care of Midas and this was a new thing. New people were always hard to come by. Jammys moved his index fingers to touch each other signifying that she mirror his motion. Then a second later he'd perform what he'd initially done.
"Its his way of saying Hi." guy said in a low voice with a subtle smile.

She caught the wink and just smiled in return. Yeah she was already making a mental note to bring food back here as much as she could. Though the thought had already crossed her mind after noting the way his ribs looked......and not just from the beating.....
Then the kid on the edge of the roof started moving, her attention drawn back to him as she held that smile in place.
Then....the bird.....ooooh great....Astrid was just had to be put on the spot now...
Well, now was her time to be a bit, shy...YES! It was possible!!
She bit her lower lip, pushing herself up to sit and noting the words that guy spoke, a bit of uncertainty in her eyes as she looked at him, before clearing it up and turning back to the other kid.
Yeah, to him she just offered a smile, tucked her hair behind her ears, and then mirrored his movements.
"Well, you guys are officially like the coolest people I have ever met...."
She smiled at both of them, still a bit unsure but trying not to let it show too much. They were by far the coolest...because yeah, the owl......Duh! What muscle bound jock had one? ummm...None!!
So yeah, for a girl like her........this was just awesomeness....

Her attention must have been skewed because the instant their fingers met the little owl Midas crawled across the bridge onto Astrid's fined and began nipping gently at her thumb expecting some sort of treat or something for accomplishing the monumental task.
Guy and Jammys giggled a bit at the bird's actions and not so much Astrid because they were kinda absorbed in how she would react. The two boys often played pranks on random people to see how they reacted when a bird went at them. Though this was less of a prank and more of a 'learning experience" They always wanted another party to the three musketeers.
"s'good" Guy said with a nod watching Astrid handle it as Jammys walked over unabated to sit by Guy mirroring his stature. They both looked alike in stature though Jammys was younger in age and certainly scrawnier. His skin was also a dark olive color and eyes a piercing gold. Guy could fit as his older brother in a sense but when next to each other the differences were evident. Guy wore a smile almost all the time, while Jammys sported a frown. Guy's hair was something of a tangled mess, while Jammys was straight and fine.
"Soooooooooo," Guy stated to break the small silence, "what now?" He said with a bored expression expecting Astrid to entertain them seeing as she did break them out of Mama's house tonight.

She felt the owl on her finger, and the little...pecking/nipping motion on her thumb, her smile growing a bit as she slowly raised the other hand to stroke the back of the bird's neck/head area......Cursed featured creatures with creepy exorcist abilities! To cute!!!
Her eyes then turning to the now two statues that seemed to be on the roof with her, her brow raising slightly like she didnt see what the big deal was, even though she got it, she just didnt say anything.....
Then finally Guy spoke up, and she grinned, shrugging slightly and then motioning her head toward the general direction of the woods.
"Wanna go swimming?"
Yeahhh it was stifling hot out, even at this time of night and she was more than ready to get wet....
>.>
<.<
Anyways...yeah, she continued to stroke the bird gently, already feeling the little featured cutey start to settle down on her finger....Which was good...She hoped........
Waiting on some kinda reply.
"If not I got a ton of other stuff we can do, but I am telling you, the spot I got to go swimming is like....majorly awesome."
Her tone trying to convince them, cause she sooo wanted to. But her want to hang out outweighed her want to go swimming...So yeah.....

"Wanna go swimming?"
Jammys and Guy watched with sturdy grins acknowledging that she'd passed the first test of the Musketeers now she needed to entertain them. They were much akin to a Peter Pan brood. Always needing the secret comfort of one another. The Merry Men they'd have been called if Jammys hadn't always been frowning. So they'd only chuckle to themselves once ensuring the fact that she'd passed.
"Uhm sure its fine if we just check it out, couldn't hurt."
Jammys grinned the thing he'd only do with people he could try and trust. He didn't know how to swim, never been taught so to try it out was a new thing for him but he'd follow Guy's lead wherever.
"If not I got a ton of other stuff we can do, but I am telling you, the spot I got to go swimming is like....majorly awesome."
"Sure thing Lead the way oh powerful Astrid." Guy made a mock bow which Jammys quickly mimicked with much more grace than Guy did somewhat killing the joke and making it much more serious.
They'd follow her jovially to her place of refuge a bit of skip to their step as they went. A prance or two building hopping as it was so finely called.

She could not help but giggle as she noted them both bowing. It was in her mind a joke, no matter how seriously it was done. Rolling her eyes she rose to stand, the little owl fluttering off as she started to move.
It did not take too long to hop across the roofs....Looking back at the two to make sure that one of both had not fallen or landed on their heads or some shit.
Then they came to the end of where the roofs could take them....sliding down the drain pipe, which was much sturdier than the buildings they had started on, Astrid would land on the ground with a solid little thud.....
She would then step back, letting them catch up before she took off towards the woods. It was a good little hike to get to the spot she had found, which was probably the reason that nobody seemed to have come here very often.
Which was perfect, it was secluded and a place she could actually go to think.........
A little clearing in the woods, with a small waterfall and a natural stream that emptied into an area perfect for swimming......
As she neared it, she stopped, smiling and breathing in the air around them, loving the way it smelled, the way this place made her feel.......Calm....at ease...So much different than she usually felt...
"Cool huh?....From what I can tell, nobody really comes here...which is awesome. You guys can sooo not tell anyone. Kies?"
Casting them a worried look not wanting to have her spot overrun or anything...honestly the act would hurt her more than anger her....which yeah...was not common....
