It was another day at school, another day of feeling empty and trying to force herself to make it through the day. Sighing softly Kevala would make her way through the halls and toward the stairs that led up to the roof. Why? Because she had time between classes and needed a place to escape from the rest of the world.
Upon reaching the rooftop, she pushed open the door and stepped onto the tarred roofing, her icy hues currently hidden behind her designer shades and her body clothed in a set of low rise jeans and a white tank top.
As the soft breeze blew across the roof, she felt her hair shift about slightly causing her to lift her hand and push it back out of her face. Tucking her hair behind her ear then, she moved forward, hearing the door slam shut behind her. They always made them too heavy up here......No matter the school or the location.
Shaking her head, she moved toward the edge of the roof, casting a glance down at the students that milled about in their meager existences trying to make it in a world that was brutal and cold.
Bah! Normally she would have felt sorry for them, but Kev was beyond the point of caring. No, now it was just a matter of trying to keep her life in order and doing whatever it took to obtain such.
It was only then that she lowered herself to take a seat upon the ledge, her small hands gripping such to maintain her balance as she let her mind wander. Little attention paid to whoever might have already been up here or who came up after her.

The roof.
It was such a cliche setting. There was bound to be a rooftop scene in nearly every movie. It was somewhat symbolic in a way; "the best fighters duke it out on top" kind of crap. Nevertheless, Jay found himself alone the roof quite a lot. It was depressing, really; making friends here was hard. Or maybe Jay made it hard. He didn't know; couldn't say he cared. But everyone loved meeting people randomly.
Creak.
The door opened, and Jay was shielded from sight; he'd been standing next to the door, and its opening just happened to block Jay from view. Jay's eyes locked on whoever entered. As the door closed, Jay's eyes widened. Now what was such a beautiful... girl? Woman? doing here? With a smirk, Jay stayed in his place, watching her pick a perch on the ledge. A single shove, and it would all be over....
"Hello there," Jay called out from his spot next to the door.
