Another whiskey? Sure, why not. Free liquor's the best liquor.
"Thanks, don't mind if I do." I lightly picked the shot glass up and tipped the entire contents back into my mouth in one gulp. It burned on the way down but not nearly as much as the unaged stuff I usually drank. Moonshine went down like flaming gasoline; this was more like strong seltzer in comparison. Placing the glass gently back on the counter upside down, I picked up my unfinished drink from before and raised to the pair next to me in a sign of hello.
"Reira, I like the name. Mine's Farren. Just came into town a few days ago." I took a small sip of the cheaper whiskey in my original glass and let the burn linger for a moment at the back of my throat. "Not that I mind your company in the least, but what brings you to a place like this? I'd think there are fancier bars around that you'd prefer to be in. Oh, sorry guitarist, nearly missed ya. What's your name?"

How 'bout offering that to mr. blues there, he seems to like fine whiskey more than I do, and I had more than enough alcohol tonight, stranger.
"Why the hell not. Here."
Kale would just shrug it off for the moment, passing it off toward the unnamed man. This junior was already starting to buzz, and he knew he was going to be drunk enough for the rest of the night. He didn't really care if he was giving the shot away for free to a dude. He would identify himself as Farren and then he would speak out again, directed toward both Reira and Kale.
Not that I mind your company in the least, but what brings you to a place like this? I'd think there are fancier bars around that you'd prefer to be in. Oh, sorry guitarist, nearly missed ya. What's your name?
"Kale. As for what brought me here.. I guess I needed to get some stress off my chest."
Of course Kale hadn't even been sure the first part of what Farren said was even meant for him. He figured he only got any attention at all because he had been sitting here talking to Reira before hand. It didn't bother him of course, Kale was use to that kind of thing. Besides, what kinda male in his right mind would want to pay attention to another guy at the bar, instead of the attractive female sitting right next to them. Kale's elbows would soon find the bar top once again, as he'd speak out.
"Looks like we've all got something in common.. We're all new in town."

The alcohol was beginning to get to Reira, she wasn't used to drinking something so strong. She rested supported her head as she leaned on the counter top some more as she looked at Farren after she passed him the drink. Her vision wasn't exactly swimming but she wasn't exactly all there at the moment anymore.
"Reira, I like the name. Mine's Farren. Just came into town a few days ago."
New to town huh? Looks like all three of them were new.
"Not that I mind your company in the least, but what brings you to a place like this? I'd think there are fancier bars around that you'd prefer to be in. Oh, sorry guitarist, nearly missed ya. What's your name?"
"Mm, thanks, you two aren't shabby company either..." she'd say as she'd run a hand through her thick brown locks trying to sober up, "Mm, fancier bars? Nawh, these places are more cozy, plus, people aren't as friendly in those places"
Reira'd give Farren a wink before she just smiled at his latter comment.
"Kale. As for what brought me here.. I guess I needed to get some stress off my chest."
Oh stress? Reira had to remember to ask him about that later on, it would be awkward talking about personal issues when they were half drunk, things might get ugly. A slip of the tongue and who know what'll happen.
"Looks like we've all got something in common.. We're all new in town."
"Oh yeah, we all are, how 'bout we show San Diego what we're made of."
Reira'd hop out of her chair and start dancing backwards towards the dance floor while motioning towards the two boys to join her. Yeah, she was not exactly sober, but hey, loosening up is good, it means you won't be shy and you have a good time. Upbeat rock music was playing and people had been dancing already, so Reira was just trying to lead the two to join the crowd.

Well, she works fast. Or at least the liquor does. I watched and listened as she flitted and flirted her way onto the dance floor, beckoning us on. I turned on my stool and rested my back against the bar top, almost finished drink in hand. I tipped what was left down my throat and held the empty glass between my fingertips, smiling warmly at the brown eyed girl. I leaned over to the new man Kale and said over the music,
"You saw her first, you get dibs. Besides, I think I need one more of these before I show off my two left feet."
I tilted my head back and looked at the bartender, now upside down in my vision with a grin on his face, shaking his head. I held up my empty glass and shook it, the remnants of the ice cubes clinking against the sides. "Hey barkeep! One more, this time bourbon. I want it strong enough to burn."
I brought my head back to center and smiled at Reira once more. "Well Kale, you gonna head out? Or are we both more scared of a girl than an audience and an open mic?"

Kale could feel his buzz growing stronger with every passing minute. And for once he was actually feeling kinda light hearted. It happened every once in a while when he got drunk, but more often then not he usually got easily agitated. This time though he wasn't so sure if he had anything to worry about. Besides, he was starting to really feel those shots. Pretty soon he wasn't going to care one bit about what he or anyone else thought.
Oh yeah, we all are, how 'bout we show San Diego what we're made of.
"Hmm?"
Kale wasn't so sure what she had meant by that at first. But soon enough those chocolate hues of his would catch the female pick herself up off the bar stool and begin dancing backwards toward the crowd of people behind her. It seemed she was inviting both of the males out to the dance floor and Kale would find himself glancing over toward Farren, whom he had given his last shot to. He did it just in time to catch him lean forward, Kale leaning to meet him so he would be able to hear easier.
You saw her first, you get dibs. Besides, I think I need one more of these before I show off my two left feet.
"Hah. I can't dance for shit. But I'm feelin' a little drunk.."
Kale was bouncing around the thought in his head for a moment. He really wasn't all that great of a dancer, not to mention he really hated crowds. For whatever reason he always felt like eyes were on him. Maybe do to his size, or possibility because of how damn SEXY he was! Nah, not that. He just really didn't enjoy making a fool out of himself. But soon enough Farren would speak out again, and Kale would make up his mind.
Well Kale, you gonna head out? Or are we both more scared of a girl than an audience and an open mic?
"Scared of a girl..?! Hell naw.. fuuck it.."
Kale would push the stool backwards, from under him and stand straight up. He'd glance down toward the guitar and then slide it against the bar for now, before the large male would take a few small breaths and turn around, walking slowly toward Reira and the rest of the dancing crowd. In truth, Kale was a little nervous. He had never been much for dancing, not to mention in a room full of people. Kale couldn't help but feel like this was going to get a little awkward.
You're stupid.. You totally shoulda just kept your ass on that bar stool, Kale.

Looks like Farren wasn't drunk enough to join the 'drunk and dance' crew! But from the look of it, Reira deduced that it was Farren who convinced Kale to go out on the dance floor and strut his stuff show his moves. Reira took note of Kale's hesitant behaviour and even though she was drunk she was not going to let him feel awkward. If she had to make a fool out of herself to make him have fun, she'd do it. After all, it was supposed to be a good night and she wasn't going to let his lack of self confidence get to him- at least that was what she thought. Then again she was drunk, maybe Kale was a confident guy, but for now Reira'd just show him how it's done.
Reira'd wave at Farren before stumbling a few woobly steps backwards as Kale approached her slowly.
"Thanks buddy, come join us when you're ready,"
Her speech was starting to slur but she was still standing upright, which was a good sign because...they were about to dance!
"C'mon now, let's go!" Reira would say as she'd grab Kale's hand and lead him right into the heart of the dance crowd. People around them would be having the time of their lives, and it would seem as though Reira and Kale were in their own little world, afterall they didnt know anyone near them and no one bothered to join their crew so it's just the two for now!
Reira would take hold of both of Kale's hands and start dancing while swinging them around. Sure she'd look like an idiot but she was having fun as she'd hop around and bounce on her feet while swinging Kale's arms trying to get him to dance as well...until this song came on and and Reira thought it was the best song choice EVER.
It was James Brown's Get up offa that thing!!!
By now Reira would let go of one ofKale's hands and do a little shimmey and grooving.
"C'mon you hear the guy, get up offta that thing!" she'd say clapping while she shuffled left and right facing Kale.

C'mon now, let's go!
Reira's words were followed by the tipsy female grabbing onto his hand and leading him deeper into the crowd. For a brief moment he almost smiled a real smile, it had been a long time since anyone had grabbed his hand like that. Maybe it was weird for something like that to pop into his head, then again.. He was drunk! Or getting there anyways. Soon enough they would settle down within the crowd, at least in the sense that they found their little place to do their jigs.
Soon enough Reira would start swinging his arms around, dancing around as if she didn't seem to have much of an idea of what to do either. Or maybe it was just the fact that she was drunk. He didn't really know, nor did he care to try and figure it out. Too much brain powered required for that at this moment, he'd rather enjoy the buzz and just go with the flow. It seemed to have worked out best for him so far.
C'mon you hear the guy, get up offta that thing!
"Awww yeeaaah~! Gotta break it down now."
His own words came out slightly stuttered and slurred. Though maybe it was because he was trying to focus on dancing to pay attention to the words coming out of his drunk mouth. So what the hell was going to do? First thing that came to his mind. The twist. WHAT?! Yeah. He was going to look so stupid, but he didn't care right now.
The juice he drank was working his magic, by the end of the night he'd probably be so worn out he'd pass out at the bottom of his apartment steps like he did on St. Patty's day. Yes, Kale was going old-school pulling the twist out as he still held the girl's hand. In the back of his mind he couldn't help but hope there wasn't anyone from his school that would see this. That would be embarrassing.
God.. I feel like John Trevolta in Pulp Fiction..
