General Rules
1. Have Fun
The most important rule when it comes to any role playing board is to always remember to have fun. This is a game, and so we would like you to treat it as such. Things that happen between your character and another person's character, whether good or bad, should not be taken personally. People join role playing boards to be someone other than themselves, and to have these characters go through a wide variety of different experiences in their fictional lives. Every person your character meets will be different in their own unique way, and these different people will influence the life of your character while yours does the same to theirs. The story of Public High School #774 goes by the community, not by the single player, and so every action you take could influence where your character, or even another person's character, goes in the complexity of the school.
2. Out of Character Posting
Like the name suggests, Out of Character posting (or OOC for short) is when you post as yourself not as your character. We do not approve of OOC posting in any In Character (or IC for short) posting areas. This means that if you are going to post purely Out of Character, you must do so in the OOC section at the bottom of the board. You may have a small bit of OOC writing in parentheses, but only to ask someone a simple question about their post or to apologize for something. Don't make extremely long OOC writings in your posts.
3. Spam
Spam is a word that basically means unnecessary and meaningless mumbo jumbo. We allow spam on this board, but only in the right areas. Do not go spamming in The role play category section. Those areas are for serious discussion, In Character stories, character bios and other important things. Spam can be used, at the right moment, in just about every one of the OOC areas at the bottom of the board. Art is the one exception, but even there it isn't considered too bad as long as it has to do with the subject. As long as its in the correct area at the correct time, spamming is a fun way to bring some random fun into a thread. It's contagious as well, so look out. Double Posting is another form of spam, but this isn't as easily accepted as spam itself. Please refrain from double posting at all costs.
4. Flaming
Flaming is unnecessary cussing or badgering of another person on the board. We try to have respect for each other here on this board, but realize that not everyone will get along. Please keep unnecessary or rude comments about someone to yourself or else the staff will be forced to take disciplinary actions. There is no reason for someone to take things as far as flaming another role player, and by doing so you are showing that your maturity level. Just please keep your rude thoughts and comments to yourself so that we can all have a good time.
5. Translation
Here at Public High School #774, English is considered to be the agreed upon language as it is on most other boards out there. If you decide to have your character say something in another language other than English, please write a translation in parentheses so that people know what you're saying out of character. If you use a slang of some sort that you believe other people may not understand, please explain it in your post. Also, we don't use the metric measuring system here, so if you could edit your height and weight into feet and pounds that would be appreciated.
6. Player Accounts
You may only have one playable character for your account. This means that you can create one bio, and play as only that character on that account. The number of Non-playable characters you can have on an account isn't limited, but please don't go crazy with this. There is no limit to the amount of character accounts you can have, which means that everyone can have as many characters as they like, given you can handle them. The number of livable, playable characters you want and can handle is entirely up to you. At this time Transfers are not allowed*. Your character must be accepted before you begin posting.
*See Transfers at bottom
The Bio Approval Code Phrase is: "Must be made of something weak...like Raditz."
7. Grief Play
Grief Play is when you use your character to cause someone else's player trouble simply because you don't get along with them in real life. We understand that some characters simply don't mesh well together, but it is pretty obvious when someone is going out of their way to cause someone else to suffer. If you believe you are a victim of grief play, please feel free to talk to staff about it if you are not comfortable talking to the person you believe is causing it. We will look into it and ask the person accused why they are doing what they are in the thread or threads involved. A lot of characters are simply mean or rude by nature, and that will be taken into consideration in our judgment. Please remember that before complaining to the staff.
8. Signatures
A lot of people will end up using pictures of some sort in their signatures, but we ask that you please keep the size of your signature 500x400 or less. If it is slightly larger than that we can let it slide, but we don't want huge signatures that stretch the page because of their size. As long as it is only a little bigger than the max size given or smaller overall, we won't have any problems with your signature.
9. Disciplinary Action
If any of these rules are broken in any way, the staff will be forced to take action. Depending on the severity of what a person did, punishment can run from a simple warning all the way to the banning of a person from public High School #774. Banning is a last resort punishment, and will only be used if a person had broken a rule a number of times and doesn't seem to care that they are getting in trouble. It is never fun to ban a member, but if need be the staff will do so. All broken rules will be discussed during a staff meeting to figure out the correct form of punishment, and then will be put to a vote. Follow the rules and you will make both the staff and the community happy.

Staff and Member Relations
1. Complaints If you have any complaints in regards to a staff member, whether you feel that you've been treated unfairly or a decision seems bias to a level that is unacceptable, send a PM to the Admin, and state what the problem is, and please be right to the point.
2. Respect Staff members are volunteers, and are not paid to work. Please realize that being bombarded with the same questions and doing the same thing over and over again becomes repetitive, and as such, tedious. Don't take it personally if a staff member acts cold, because staff are only human. They can only take so much. Asking politely or using a text in a formal tone will more than likely, get you a more desirable response.
We don't tolerate members bashing others, staff and regular members alike. If you repeatedly insult a staff member, realize that things staff do is for a reason, and not just because they want to torture other members.
3. Don't spam staff members Simply put, don't spam staff. We have better things to do and important matters to attend to, so don't waste our time by spamming us to death, which in turn, prevents us from doing our work. Realize that the work we do is solely for each and every members benefit, not just our own. Getting in our way stops us from helping you with any problems you have.

Role-Play and Fighting
1. Alternate Reality
The world that Public High School #774 is based in is an advanced version of the reality that we all live in during our real lives. This means that our characters may live on the same planet with the same countries and cities that we have in real life, but there are many fictional aspects to this world as well. One of them is the over exaggerated reality system that most of us have seen from LifePoint1's flash anime, XIN. You will be able to do anything that you have seen in that anime such as sending your opponent through a brick wall, using special powers that you create and being able to survive otherwise impossible attacks or falls from heights. Everyone must agree with exactly what another character is doing in a thread they are involved in. If one person doesn't agree than they can talk to staff about what they believe doesn't fit into this alternate reality. Just remember, there are some extremely out of this world things already in existence here at Public High School #774, so compare your complaints to some of the more outrageous things before complaining to the staff.
2. God-Moding, Meta-Gaming and Auto-Hitting
God-Moding is one of the worst things that you can do while role playing as your character, and many people aren't even aware that they are doing it. God-Moding is when you character does something that is literally impossible for them to do, such as a frail character getting hit but not taking damage from a character with great strength. This cannot happen, and the staff will not let it happen. You are not God, nor is anyone else on this board, and so we expect you not to act like you are. Meta-Gaming and Auto-Hitting are both sub-classes of God-Moding, and are looked down upon just as much as God-Moding is.
Meta-Gaming is when you have your character know something that you may know as a role player, but your character does not. This can be anything as small as someone's name that you haven't met, all the way to having your character knowing exactly how your opponent fights and what their Qi is. You may be able to see that an attack is coming your characters way, but if their back is turned they cannot. Don't make your character all knowing because no one is. This is a big no-no so please keep away from Meta-Gaming.
Auto-Hitting is when you simply say that your attack hits, and that there is no way for your opponent to dodge it. You must at least give them a chance to think of a dodge or a counter, even if you believe that your attack is full proof. If you send a punch at your opponent's chest, they should get the chance to at least try to dodge it. Don't simply say that it connected and you smiled after your victory. Even if it did connect, there is a good chance that the fight would go on so don't get ahead of yourself. There is no such thing as an Auto-Hit in role playing so don't try to get around this.
In some cases, you may be given control of another person's character with their permission. Do not abuse this power and simply go all out with it. Do what the person said that you could have their character do, and nothing more. If you do more than what was told, it will only complicate things and then staff may have to get involved. Nobody wants that so please follow the instructions you are given for the other person's character.
3. Weapons
Weapons are not allowed on the school grounds at any time, and failure to abide by this rule will get both your character in trouble as well as you yourself. This doesn't mean that you can't improvise with the things that may surround your character during a fight. You can use chairs, tables, computers, books and even NPC's to attack your opponent with. Anything around you that can be made into a weapon may be used, so use your creativity. Weapons may be carried around off of school grounds, but they cannot be used unless it is part of an important storyline of some sort. No using knifes or any other type of weapon like it in a fight, again unless both characters agree with it and it is for storyline purposes. We will be keeping an eye out for the use of illegal weapons, and will check any complaints we get about them. All weapon use must be approved by staff before being used, no exceptions.
Exception: Items may be made that are weapons though approval must be granted from an Admin account.
4. Mature Themes
Excessive violence and language is allowed on the board for creative purposes, but if you are going to go overboard with them and someone complains about how far you've taken it please put a mature tag in the title of your thread. Gore, violence and swearing are three things that can get to extremes, so if you find a mature tag in your title that wasn't there before a staff member believed your actions to be worthy of the tag.
Drug and alcohol use is permitted, with drug use needed a mature tag in the title. If you are going to have your character do any kind of illegal drug they have to have a reason for doing so. You can't just go out and do cocaine simply because you simply want your character to do it. Give them a good enough reason, maybe even make it part of their story progression to add depth to the character. The loss of someone important or complete abandonment are two examples of a decent excuse to turn to drugs, but please don't make every thread you're in about them. You need variety even if your character becomes or is a drug user.
Sexual theme must be kept to a minimum when role playing. There is no getting around this rule so don't try. You can have your character romantically involved with another character, but we don't want to have to see any extremely detailed sexual acts on our board. Hugging, kissing, cuddling and other forms of affection are fine, but if you plan on having sex skip the details and go from there. There's no need for someone to go on for three pages about the different things that they did, in fact keep it to a two post minimum. You did it, yeah, and you can imagine it, but you don't need to write about it. You can discuss what happens between the two characters involved through PM, but not in the thread. Keep it private.
5. Death
We all know that it is possible for people to get seriously injured in fights, accident and many other situation, but there will be no killing of anyone's character without their expressed written consent. So don't go attempting to kill another person in the board because unless they want their character to die they aren't going to be killed off. Sure you can beat them to within an inch of their life, but they will recover if it wasn't planned for them to die. There are no exceptions or ways around this rule so don't go around trying to kill other characters and expect to actually kill them.

Statistics
1. Stats
There are 6 stats that are going to be used here. They are:
Strength (Str)
Your character's, raw, physical strength. The higher your strength rating, the more you can expect your character's blows to hurt. It's how much damage you can deal to your opponent.
Dexterity (Dex)
This is a combination of how flexible your character is, how nimble they are, and how agile they are. Having a higher Dexterity than your opponent means in a way you have the edge in regards to speed and in a way, skill. It's how fast you can move.
Constitution (Con)
Constitution can be understood as two different things, and in this case it's more than likely to apply to both stamina and toughness. If you have a higher constitution it means your character can take more of a beating before going down or able to commit better to a strenuous activity for a much longer period of time before getting tired and having to rest and recover.
Intelligence (Int)
Intelligence is one of two mental stats out there. It is your book smarts, as well as what kind of grades and how complex you can think. It is also your problem solving skills and allowing you to think one step ahead of those less intelligent then you. It means you are a quick thinker and your attacks will be harder to read. It's how well you can counter an opponent's moves.
Wisdom (Wis)
Wisdom is the second mental stat out there. Usually, someone who has a lot of wisdom has experienced much more than others and usually finds their perception higher than others, allowing them to read into some attacks. Keep in mind however, that a person's mind can only perceive so much, and having the ability to see an attack coming is completely useless if you don't have the physical ability to back it up. It is also your ability to read people and tell when they are lying to you or hiding something from you. It's how difficult the moves you can perform are.
Charisma (Cha)
This determines how much people like you, and how well you can "influence" others (OC's and NPC's alike). This also determines how strong your Qi attack is, and how long you can sustain it.
2. Rank Ups
There is no longer a Stat Cap for any rank, however there are rank ups and they proceed as follows.
Students
Newbie: Post count: 0
Fledgling: Post count: 300
Wanderer: Post count: 600
Elite: Post count: 900
Challenger: Post count: 1200
Predator: Post count: 1500
Conquerer: Post count: 1800
Savior: Post count: 2100
God: Post Count: 2500
Teachers
Newbie: Post count: 0
Fledgling: Post count: 300
Wanderer: Post count: 600
Elite: Post count: 900
Challenger: Post count: 1200
Predator: Post count: 1500
Conquerer: Post count: 1800
Savior: Post count: 2100
God: Post count: 2500
Note: Every time you unlock a higher rank, you receive a bonus of +3 Points to spend for free.
3. Initial Statistics
Each person gets 15 points to use on these 6 stats. Everyday you may have however many fights you want. Winner and loser gain 1 sub-point for every fight you finish. In the case of a draw, each character gets 1 sub-point. For every 6 sub-points tabulated you earn a single point to be added. Therefore it takes 6 fights to earn a full point. Please contact a staff member if your opponent has taken longer than a week without saying anything in a fight. You may not have any less than 5 in one stat. Teachers: 30 Points
4. Points
There is only one way you can raise your stats – and that is through gaining experience points or, “Points”. There are a few ways in which you can get points, but your primary source is through fighting. For every player you fight, you gain one sub-point if you win, lose, or it's a draw, non-player characters (NPCs), do not count however Personal NPC's do count so long as they are mentioned as such.
Also, please keep a record of your Points.
Teachers can gain Points for teaching classes as well however there gain is very different from the students gain. A teacher will receive +1 Sub-Point for every student they accept into their class. Therefore big, chaotic, public school classes are greatly appreciated to add in this ambiance.
5. Cheating
If you attempt to cheat on your stats, prepare to have the staff come down on you, hard. No cheating will be tolerated.
REMEMBER: Staff WILL be reviewing ALL Bio's to make sure everyone is keeping up with this rule. If there are problems, questions, concerns, feel free to contact any staff member. All fight disputes contact any staff member. Any continual Flaming in fights, arguing over who did what, or illegal Stat modifying will be dealt with accordingly. Please, don't let any staff catch you doing any of those just to make yourself stronger or better than everyone else. Use tact when fighting, and don't enter into 10 fights just for the Points.

The Student Hierarchy
The Student Hierarchy, A system that is comprised of from anywhere of a single leader to four separate entities which supervise a school's well being in the means of keeping the peace much like an organized student body that is aimed to crack down on school order.
The student body is required to follow and to abide by the laws of the school and the hierarchy, or face severe punishment.
School Captain Ideal Attributes: Str, Dex, Con The School Captain is often the most powerful student in the school, he/she has the reigns of the system and is given the duty to lead the student hierarchy to keep and maintain order in the school. The most pressure is put upon this position because of the fact that if this person is beaten they must relinquish their hold on the hierarchy and abandon their post.
Student Body President Ideal Attributes: Cha, Wis The Student Body President is much sought after as the most influential student at the school. While the SC may be able to keep a tight noose around the school maintaining a semblance of fear a SBP uses their influence to keep the school in line often without the means of violence. Also manages clubs and afterschool activities.
Varsity Captain Ideal Attributes: Str, Dex, Con The Varsity Captain is the bulk of the group, often symbolized as the tank and has the innate ability to put fear into student's eyes. He/She is also responsible for the organization and over viewing of sports teams.
Head of the School Newsletter Ideal Attributes: Cha, Wis The Head of the School Newsletter is typically number two in student relations within the group. His/Her articles are used to communicate to the school. Though he/she may not be the strongest their words are generally far from going unheard and definitely has the tenacity to control whatever power is on hand.
Pillars do what now?
They make up the student hierarchy and are generally known to be political figures for the school maintaining order so that the school's budget won't get cut or the school itself will not be shut down.
What does the School Captain do?
The school Captain is the most testing position of the bunch, they must defend their position for future potentials trying to seek out that position because if defeated the SC must hand over his/her position to the next in line who has defeated them.
A SC can be removed through two different ways: By being removed through force or retirement.
What about the other pillars?
So being the other pillars your duty is to follow the SC's will and decisions, in doing so you may represent your school and through the SC's eyes be a loyal compatriot.
Though once more your position relies upon the SC, if he is defeated it is the new SC's decision to keep you aboard as his ally or even still he can have you replaced but until your position is relinquished you must be on guard.
Worried about the future?
Pillar's are immune to replacement for a one week period so in that time you can go about fighting till you have reached that one week period.
Can the SC go solo?
Yes.

TransfersPending future growth, transfers will be allowed though there are monetary rules in order. Money may not be transfered, Items will be vaulted on a case by case basis.* Exp may be completely transferred though post count is not so you are reduced to dealing with the stat caps.
*Review your item with a Staff member Items earned through purchases that are moderate in advancement may be kept as they are. Multipliers Will be vaulted pending their power. Other Items will be either Approved, Vaulted, or turned away based on a Moderator's note.
At transfers are allowed admittance. Updates: 2/4/10
*Transfers from Sites using greater than +1 exp gain from fights will have all additional transfer stats from those fights returned to the +1 system any further will be disregarded. Updates: 3/19/10Updated November 14, 2010This is in regards to all characters choosing to otherwise rejoin PHS 774 as the stat system has been entirely altered to mirror that of Chula Vista (Credit is deserved to the inspiration). All Characters will have a base stat of 15 points given to them to distribute as they see fit between the 6 stats allotted. Any further than this the stats are narrowed down even further. Your total additional stats over your base stats are divided by 6 and then adjusted to fill the rest of the stats given. For Example: using a round number of 600 that fits perfectly. 600 Base Stats 600/6 = 100 STR - 16 D DEX - 16 D CON - 20 C- INT - 16 D WIS - 16 D CHA - 16 D Now as you may notice there is a "-" sign in the equation, well there is also a plus. This is used to otherwise regulate close matches should they come down to that very slim defining characteristic. - = 2 = 4 + = 6 F- = 1-2 F = 3-4 F+ = 5-6 As for the Transfer of Items. Those shall be taken into consideration by Moderators in charge, all items will be sent in a pm to your local moderator for transfer where they will be transfixed at a flat rate and returned to you under the new system. Each stat in your item will appear akin to 1 sub-point. Example: +10 Str becomes +1 4/6 Strength

Clubs & SportsSports:Sports of any kind are required to be passed through the Varsity Captain in order to create both order and conflict, if you want to create a sport for rewards you must go to your Varsity Captain and request permission to start up the Sport itself. Rewards: Pending your Sports thread Points and Money Rewards will be awarded to you and all those participating by a Moderator. This will be based upon length of threads, posts, and member involvement. That means play to your character and do so without excluding anyone. Clubs:Clubs of any kind must be headed by a leader of some sort, the leader must place forward starting costs to the Student body, a fund of $50 dollars to start up the club. Note, start up funds will generally yield greater rewards due to your sacrifice. The club itself is required to have a clear defined purpose and goal, there are no requirements as far as membership goes but again like sports having a greater member base will give way to more rewards. - School Newsletter: The Pillar Student Newsletter is automatically leader of the newsletter and will be rewarded based upon a monthly newsletter based upon content.
- Is able to hire a staff to write the paper
- No start up fund for the Newsletter
Time Frame: For all Clubs and Sports there is a required wait period of two weeks IRL in between threads as to reduce possibility of inflation.

NPCs
General: General NPCs that are used as a fluid progressing motion are to be statless with no affiliated sides unless agreed upon by all parties in a thread. If there is a problem with their motivations as a character then said NPC will cease to exist under either party and will be modded by staff if necessary. The General guidelines for these general NPCs are average students more or less bottom of the barrel unless mentioned before hand. General NPCs can have stats and purpose that escalate to a greater means, these are called Storyline NPCs
Storyline NPCs: Storyline NPCs are those that can be generically labeled as desired anywhere from weak to no ends to ungodly abilities the Storyline NPCs are your decisions to design. Rules for them are as follows; they cannot be used in a Quest or Storyline progression as designated by staff unless they approve of such. These are also not allowed in any thread without permission from all other parties involved.
Personal NPCs: Personal NPCs are designated as your personal support. These NPCs are given stats much like a new player would though they start out with 12 Points to begin. These Personal NPCs may experience growth through fights as well much like a PC would. They may also have items equipped to them. And in due time they may develop their own Qi's as well. We hope that this inspires you to level them up because they cannot earn Qi until they reach the grade of D in both Intelligence and Charisma. Also one cannot earn points from fighting their own NPCs. You earn 2 Personal NPCs through each grade level you achieve. So for F you have 1 to begin with. E, you have the option of adding another 1, and so on and so forth.

Grade System:- S Level - Godly. People ranking in this perform superhuman like effects that many have trouble to even imagine. Rank S is the top tier and cap of all levels.
- A Level - Top Rank ability. A person with this grade is no doubt among the cream of the crop and stands significantly in their element.
- B Level - Above Average, a person with this grade has some quality skill and definitely stands out above the competition.
- C Level - A little bit above average considering how long its taken to get here. One under this level stands out slightly and is regarded as one who aspires in this quality of themselves.
- D Level - Flat Average, simply put those in this category are at where they should be and stick in with the school with no differentials of involvement.
- E Level - Still a relatively low rank but achieving at just about average or darn near it in regards to skill. A person at this level can match many despite the stigma behind it.
- F Level - The Lowest level of fighter, or in other cases simply just low ranking in general. Think of this as the base to any RP character ready to grow. The only way is up.
Divisions:Divisions of the grades range from "-" to "+" and of course the neutral in between. Every two points added into their stat increases by one of these divisions until they cap it off and raise a grade level. For Example; I have 2 points in STR and add one more my grade goes from F- to F. If I am to add two more points atop that my Points increase from 3 to 5 and now I'm at F+. Once more an additional 2 points added and I'm at 7, this raises my Grade entirely to E. Sub-Points:Sub-Points are basically a means of keeping track of extra points that aren't whole numbers. These are divided into 1/6 ths and most often portrayed into Items and Fights when adding points. However they are not to be taken into consideration in fights. Your Grade is what your ability is based on, not your points.
