[/b] Imagine a kitty cat. Cute right? Charming on the outside, and maybe when you reach out to pet her she'll purr...before razor sharp claws appear out of nowhere and lodge in your skin. Chihiro is suave and charming when it comes to teachers, superiors, and whenever she's looking to get what she wants. She's sweet, kind, considerate..you name it. But deep down is another layer, one that isn't so shiny and squeaky clean. Chihiro ALWAYS has an ulterior motive, and it generally revolves around herself. She is manipulative, ego-centric, and confident. She's intelligent and she knows it. She also has a bit of a temper, which is the only window to her nastier interior. She doesn't look to pick fights, but preys on the weaker, younger students to use as pawns. She will not stand down from a challenge or if someone tries to pick a fight with her. There is rumor that somewhere deep down inside there is a shred of good and decency, but it is very well hidden.

She doesn't, however, take it seriously and her knowledge is not on par with how many years she has learned it. She began practicing karate at the age of 6, though tapered off within the last 5 years and only practices occassionally.

History

Amuri Chihiro ("A thousand questions") is the younger child of Hisoka ("reserved") and Kiyoko ("pure child") Amuri. They have one other child, a son named Akihiko ("bright prince"). Aki is two years older than Chi, and is attending his first year of university in Japan. He is following in his father's footsteps as an aspiring martial arts master. Hisoka couldn't be more proud of his son.

As a child, Chi and Aki were like two peas in a pod. Those who didn't know the Amuri's would assume that the two were twins. Chi tended to be a little more wild and expressive while Akihiko was more reserved and observant. They were like yin and yang, Chi bringing out the adventurous side in Aki, and Aki reigning in the deviant Chi. When he left for school, however, Chihiro felt half of her was missing and began to act out more.

But the Amuri household is not as crystal clean as its modern suburban house seems. Soka takes his martial arts seriously, and though they are a Japanese American family, he still holds the honors and traditions of their forefathers. He can be stern, sometimes harshly so, and disapproving meant turmoil for the entire household. And Kiyoko, Chihiro's mother, does not live up to her namesake of being pure. Addicted to alcohol, she uses it as a vice to escape the adversities of the household, though her stupor only tends to make matters worse as it hits a nerve with Hisoka's temper. Aki was able to escape this hellhole in sheep's clothing, though Chihiro has two more years of dealing with these skeletons in their closets.

Luckily, at the closing of their local public school in Chihiro's freshman year, Aki and Chi were able to continue/complete their schooling at PHS 774 in San Diego, which had a much better reputation. A little less than 100 miles away from home, Chi was able to live in the dorms and go to school without the pressure of her home life. She does, however, still go home for breaks and some weekends.
