It was an interesting turn of events to say the least. Even disappearing before the masses of students that would cheer as the new Captain was announced, he could still remember back to his old high school days, of course back then the hierarchy was still in its youthful beginnings but it didn't mean there weren't intense bravado's in attempts for power, attention, or even control. A small smirk and shrug as he leaned backwards and settled his hands behind his head to rest. Kicking his legs up he assumed an arrogant position his right foot over top his left as he tapped it impatiently.
"The new Student Captain will report immediately to the Principal's office...."
Thierry winked to his assistant at the front who'd just placed in the message. Batting his eyes slowly he looked a bit tired if not a bit bored. There were still many things to go over with the new captain.... what was his name again? Abel? Cairo? Coco?
Oh well regardless he'd remember soon enough.

The School Captain position. Cain walked through the hallways of #774, ignoring the cautious and respectful glances that was shot towards him by the students that surrounded him. He was clad in a plain white shirt that hugged his body quite well, neither too tight nor too loose. A pair of black denim jeans made up his lower body wear, completed then by a pair of Converse black sneakers with white laces and toes. He carried no bag, having stuffed the thing into his locker just a few moments before, holding in his hands instead a pair of studded gloves and a badge, both of which has been given to him just the day before, at the end of the tourney.
Yeah, he had emerged as the victor over the finals, and here he was now, titled as the School Captain with the badge and the gloves that apparently came with it. He looked at the gloves as he paced his way down, before placing them in his pockets, not seeing the need for him to put them on for now. His eyes then focused on the badge. He never thought that he would actually make it this far, coming out as the School Captain too. What was he going to do now? And as for pillars... Who was Cain going to be working with?
Cain had gotten to know a few people in his time here in #774, namely Genesia, though Cain had not seen her for quite a while, Kevela, a sweet woman with a harsher and more feral side, Adam Silver, a violent and aggressive young man, Jayden, his opponent for the finals, Elena, a sharp and observant young female, and finally Zen, the girl that had taken his heart.
Cain himself knew, however, that it was still too early to choose his pillars.
"The new Student Captain will report immediately to the Principal's office...."
Ugh, what now? Cain stopped in his tracks, looking clueless for a moment before remembering one important factor about that announcement. He was the Student Captain. He sighed, before turning to his right, the general direction of his new destination now. Without a word of complaint, Cain would turn on his heels and start making his way there.
It was not long before he reached, knocking on the door before opening it slowly, looking towards the Secretary that sat there, looking back at him.
"Uhm, I'm here to see Mr. Durand? I'm Cain. Cain Aurelius, the Student Captain."

Nikki Charollette, Thierry' current secretary it always seemed that there was a new one in her position almost on a monthly basis but this one had particularly struck his interests perhaps it was his current fascination with blondes or the way she dressed just teasingly enough to excite him but none to give herself away. Today was something of those plain days no flashy colors or eluding to the eye but rather an attractive build. "Go on through sweety." She said with a confident wink jutting her pen up at an angle towards the door before chewing on the end and getting back to typing away at the computer. Thierry however was eagerly awaiting, and by eagerly he meant nearly falling out of his chair asleep. The sway to his body was now shifted to the side an elbow on the armrest slowly inching farther and farther till....

Wow, what? Cain stepped into the room, looking at the secretary, who looked like she was off a pornographic video. He raised an eyebrow as she winked towards him, giving a sly smile as she pointed towards another door with her pen, Cain's eyes following the direction and looking at the door itself.
"Go on through sweety."
Cain turned back towards her, giving a soft smile and a nod, acknowledging the order as he moved towards the door to Mr. Durand's office itself. As he did, he let out a soft grin, thinking back as to how the secretary looked like.
You are one sick man, Mr. Durand.
It made Cain wonder just what the Principal actually did when he was free. Wait, wait, what was Cain thinking now? He raised his right hand, scratching his right temple. Zenevieva was going to kill him for those thoughts now. Cain knocked on the door on Mr. Durand's office, noticing that the door was open.
The School Captain looked inside, noticing that Mr. Durand had perhaps waited way too long for his liking as he was half-asleep on the seat.
"Mr. Durand?"

"Mr. Durand?"
The sobering noise was a means of waking him up, of course out of rationalization he should be upset however Thierry had his own way of channeling aggression so to speak. Sitting up in his seat Thierry raised his left hand to perform a routine check to his face, perhaps wipe the leftover bits of sleep from his face. His eyes cautiously peering over his hand out of concern both perhaps for the kid and for his own self-justifying judgment. And just like a clown or on stage actor he formed his own grin in place from the shift of his hand at a downward angle.
"Yes, you must be..... Cain."
Thierry said in a rather monotone voice scooting back and shuffling the papers on his desk in a covert attempt to perhaps.... look busy.
"So it seems the legacy of Captain has fallen on you," Shuffling the papers again he pulled free a rolled out poster. Within it there was a certain set of rules, thing she had his own moral setup perhaps even a vindictive ideal.
"I'd like for you to be the shield of this school, you see I can't be everywhere at once and theres nothing more beneficial to a school than leadership. I expect you to live up to those standards otherwise..." That curious grin set in place setting a wink past him to the giggling secretary on the phone at a precarious angle.
"There will be repercussions."

Whatever sophisticated and respectable image that Mr. Durand had ever placed upon himself in Cain's head was destroyed almost immediately with her demonstration of authority. Hell, Cain was chuckled in the inside as he apparently woke the man up from his slumber as he attempted to clean himself up. It really made Cain wonder just how this man was able to keep the school as... Sturdy as it was.
"Yes, you must be..... Cain."
Cain nodded his head, taking those words as both acknowledgment of his identity and also as a sign to come in and take a seat, the Junior pacing forward towards the seat opposite Thierry on his desk. Yes, he was starting to feel awkward already in the presence of the head honcho of the school. True, he had been with him twice, once in the auditorium, and the other in his class, but he had never conversed with the man one-on-one.
"So it seems the legacy of Captain has fallen on you," "So it seems..."
Cain would repeat softly to himself, his eyes and attention on Mr. Durand then as he stood behind the seat, not wanting to disrespect the man as of yet by taking a seat without instructions. As of now, he was the School Captain and to keep his job, it was required of him to follow the Headmaster's words. Then, he started the first part of this little conversational topic, of him being the new School Captain. He looked down at his pocket, where the badge was. The redirection did not last long, as Cain's returned to Mr. Durand, just in time to see that wink. He raised an eyebrow, following it as he looked over his shoulder, at the secretary.
Ah...
He turned back to Mr Durand, still on his feet.
"Uhm... I'm listening."

Thierry chuckled lightly yes he'd never been known to be the stickler of any group though his switching personalities and taste in woman often gave people reason to worry for... lets say his sanity. A hand however pulled free from beneath his desk pulling those fingers across his face as he ruffled his hair gently. Prim and calm always the apple in someone's eye yet again still the trouble maker.
"Hmm, Yes as I was saying, I'll be requesting your assistance around this school to keep order in all forms that is your job."
The chuckle faded and was gone with a curious smile.
"Walk with me?"
Thierry came to a stand quickly grabbing his coat, it was a small dark thing to say the least but it gave him the sort of aura of style an fashion.
"You see, as things have progressed schools across the country have been getting a bit unruly."
A small salute as he headed out the door past his secretary. All the same he expected Cain to follow. "Against my better judgment to disband this Pillar system I've decided continuing this."
A shifty glare downward pacing a newspaper under his arm and shifting a set of glasses unto his face.

To keep the order? Well, that was the standard job of a School Captain and a pillar, right? To keep the order, regardless of what it took. And that was one of the reasons why pillars were held in a bad image to many students. Not only were they the 'lapdogs of the staff', they also pretty much had the authority to do anything without fearing as much the repercussions upon them. Cain was not sure how he was going to handle that, but hell, he was confident that it would not affect him much either.
"Walk with me?" "Ok?"
And as Mr. Durand took his coat and walked off, Cain would follow at an arm's distance behind him, his eyes fixated on the back of the man's head, curious just as to what was going on in there. Then, as they walked out, Mr. Durand pointed out something that Cain himself had noticed. As time progressed, schools became more violent, and as many other schools had, the violence would reach a point where it escalated to a mass riot, thus causing the school to close down.
Wait, he wanted to close down the pillar system? Cain raised his head, his eyebrow raised. No wonder, in a way, he seemed half-assed about getting the system running. Holding a tourney without taking note the personality of the participants, he simply gave away the Captain pillar just like that. Here Cain was, relishing all the challenges that were being thrown at him. And he was focused more on it than keeping the peace, though he was able to do both at the same time.
"And what were you thinking of replacing the Pillar system with?"

Replacing the pillar system? Ah yes that was the plan, he'd seen what it'd done during his teaching careers its progression and thus evolution. Whatever bright lights that'd emerged from the system were often dulled out by those many grand splotch marks seeking to form a reputation. And the problem was the cycle continued over and over. Predictable. Though wasn't everything these days.
A calm bat of an eye at the notion as he turned about jostling his body to lean against the hallway wall. Class was still in session of course otherwise the halls themselves would be bustling with people. The few making way for their Dean as they tried averting their gaze. Authority, despite the power it gave you it left you alienated from all those you could form bonds with. A burden.
"Don't worry too much on that Cain, I'm sure you'll see remnants of it here and there..."
A grin in the corner of his mouth turned lips up curiously however he hide it away quickly continuing his pace still opening his left arm to invite Cain to walk beside him as an equal perhaps?
"Cain tell me... why did you want to become Captain?"

It seems that the bell had already rung some time during the duration of Cain's little detour to Mr. Durand, his mind probably too filled with question to register the common sound. He would look past the Headmaster for a while, before looking over his own shoulder. The hallway looked considerably empty indeed, with a few stranglers, though they barely made themselves visible with both the Principal and the new School Captain present. Hell, if Cain didn't know better, it felt like a Sunday here. And don't ask how he knew how the school was on Sundays.
"Don't worry too much on that Cain, I'm sure you'll see remnants of it here and there..."
Remnants? Cain turned back to Mr. Durand, his eyebrows furrowing. Why was it that hearing that made Cain feel a tad bit uncomfortable? Was it perhaps cause him being a School Captain meant that Mr. Durand had plans to 'replace' him? Or as he say, remnants of his plans? Was it actually a challenge to Cain? Well, if so... Cain was going to welcome it with a smile. It would be interesting to see what the man would throw at his own men.
Then, with a raised left arm, Thierry gestured Cain to move up beside him in their casual yet significant walk. Cain did not have much choice, did he? With a soft nod, the man increased his pace, soon enough standing right beside Mr. Durand as he shot him the question of 'why'.
"... The call of challenge."
What a believable lie. Anyone who knew Cain well enough would know that Cain did love challenges. However, there was no one in the world that could ever predict the real reason for doing so. And it was simple why. He never voiced it out.
He wanted to prevent another #552 from developing.

Hmmm...? Thierry found himself cocking his head to the side shooting a curious glance. Typical, the answer at least, it was common of students to reply with such.... what was the word? Arrogance perhaps was his choice. He figured that was the answer, for he'd been a teen-aged boy once. He'd been arrogant, selfish, stubborn. And of course being what he was instantly made him knowledgeable of everything. Ahh it was refreshing to have the ideals of youth.
"Ahh I see..." Murmuring in a silent tone to himself.
A small twitch of his upper lip was gestured before he turned inwardly grasping a manila envelope from beneath his coat. Flipping it open with a small gesture Thierry Durand focused his eyes on the papers before him.
"I see the most recent school you've been transferred out of was the infamous PHS #552, seems you don't exactly get along to well with the headmaster there... hmm curious."
Shuffling through the papers again he read at an amazing speed. Liking his finger tips he finished up the portfolio and set it away beneath his coat again sending him a curious grin.
"I don't suppose your current demeanor is due to such events?"

And the Headmaster would look at him curiously, as if doubtful that that was even his main reason. Cain would only blankly look back, as if unsure what to do now, when he was only trying to get Mr. Durand off the topic of this conversation. He then muttered something, though Cain was unable to hear what it was, despite the silence. And then, Mr. Durand reached into his coat, removing a manila envelope that made Cain wonder just how big his coat pockets were. And curiously, too, he would try to sneak a peek into his coat from where he was.
However, his attention was soon caught by the envelope as it was opened, a set of papers being removed from it. And Cain's sharp eyes would catch sight of a very familiar word at the top of it.
Cain
Was that his student records? Cain furrowed his eyebrows, utterly despising the thing. It was pretty much an answer to all of his mysteries and stuff. His whole history was there, as a student and also before, detailing his father's occupation, and death. It could explain his whole personality and reason for his behaviours. And hell, even Mr. Durand was able to deduce the correct answer from it.
The Headmaster of #552? Marcus Vaughan? Hell, Cain had fought alongside him, seen the guy get shot and survive, and then rebelled against him too. Cain was tired of #552's crap and had joined a rebel force that wanted to remove the position at the top, though deep inside he knew that it would only turn for the worst.
"I don't suppose your current demeanor is due to such events?"
Cain let out a scoff, giving Mr. Durand a sly smirk, before looking forward. First, it was that sharp-eyed Elena, who literally read Cain's mind by his expressions and actions, and then Mr. Durand, who found the truth with his past.
"Seems like it's getting harder and harder to keep secrets, isn't it?"

A calm mile lit the corners of his cheeks with a small nod in agreement. With the expansion of technology and the amount of people in this world it made it almost impossible to keep a good secret under wraps. But there were still ways to have those secrets kept that way. The Masks they wore was the real top secret to be seen.
"I hope that you understand my position here..."
Of course Thierry knew that Cain would never truly understand his intentions but perhaps see from his point of view, from behind this mask. The mask of a Dean looking out for his students.
"Trust is an important ideal I look highly in, I hope that I can trust you Cain."
Curling his hands into balled fists before crossing his arms over his chest Mr. Durand turned to give Cain the once over quickly if he was making the right choice in devoting anything to a pillar, especially one who was only out for the challenge. Regardless he'd get his wish... soon.

"Trust is an important ideal I look highly in, I hope that I can trust you Cain."
Cain looked at Mr. Durand for a moment, watching his posture and expression, knowing that he had perhaps disapproved of Cain having his own agenda. Well, who wouldn't? Then again, who would be surprised? In a school like this, despite alliances, gangs and brotherhoods, it was still every man for his own. It was still a battlefield. It was still the law of the jungle; kill or be killed. However, at Cain's position, he did understand Mr. Durand. This guy was to be his representative, in a way. In other words, his effectiveness as a Headmaster may just be hindered if his own School Captain rebelled against him.
"You can. And I promise that I will fulfill my roles as a School Captain to the fullest of my abilities."
Cain would flash a soft smirk at Mr. Durand, one that spoke of mischief and yet honesty. Mr. Durand now knew of Cain's intentions of becoming the School Captain. And Cain himself was no idiot. He knew that there was more than one way to prevent #774 from turning into another #552, other than brute force, which seemed to be the only way that students nowadays knew about. Cain was a charismatic speaker, in a way. He could always compromise. Men compromise, after all.
"And of course, I hope you understand my position too, Mr. Durand. Even as a School Captain, I still have my own intentions and plans to carry out. I do not want another school to close down as a graveyard."

A mischievous smirk, something that'd of course caught his eye that and a promise to uphold order but not exactly his law, the two were essentially very different things to a teen-ager at this time. The battle vs. authority and ones betterment. Still in those words Mr. Durand could understand a bit of truth in them. Curious, curious indeed he'd need to read up more upon Cain and the example of #552 to ever completely understand him and of course the new students that'd be coming here from all over, be it transfer or newly admitted. It was going to be a long career to live out. A firm chuckle in his throat showing a bit of jovial disregard.
"Then it would seem as though you and I have the same intentions don't we Mr. Aurelius."
Settling his coat back to it's standard exterior he straightened up and leaned back, filing his hands in his pockets coolly again with the same demeanor he'd appeared this entire time. Always the same either bored or concentrated as if having other intentions to his otherwise streamlined goals.
"If you need me, don't be a stranger."
Tilting away as though in a mysterious air Thierry Durand shrugged off, waved his goodbye and returned to that office, the one children often mismatched as fear.
