I really don't have time to listen to you... I need to try my best today....I need to fit in. Make friends and make this city our new home. I don't want father to have to move around anymore. I hope you know, that won't exactly work, I mean.... As long as.... Waking from a dream, the girl opened her eyes and looked at the bright day, greeting it with a smile. No matter how dark the dream, there was a bright sunrise to make her forget. Dreams were short and strange, never making any sense, since what was happening went against who she was. Although, she never did question it, always too afraid to find the answer. it was best just to try and ignore it. After all, as long as they did not interfere with the new day, ti didn't matter. As long as she could wake up and go on being Hildegard, it didn't matter; right? Getting out of bed, the red haired young woman would wander around, slowly getting ready for the new day. A day of wandering. The last bit of time before she entered High School. The apartment was filled with boxes, they were still getting settled in. Of course, ti would take time, but it wouldn't stop them from going to school and work... School. Smiling at her father, Hilde gave him a hug before he left for work. She was close with Abel, after all they were all each other had. Ever since Nadia had passed on. You know... you are just deluding yourself... You were there when it happened. No I wasn't...Don't you remember the smell?"Yay! Toast is done!" Cheering the girl would ignore that voice that always tried to make things seem dark. It didn't matter... It was going to be a nice day ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was a sunny day that had been subjected to light rain several times, although the light showers didn't cloud the sky or cause any form of discomfort. In fact it just made the day a little more enjoyable, at least to her it did. The red haired young woman smiled brightly as she made her way down the street. Still trying her best to take in the scenery of her new home. The city she was calling her own. It was a little strange, but nice to see people she didn't know. The chance for a fresh start. Hilde continued to move forward, down the street, her off coloured eyes scanning all that was around her. Looking at the faces, the buildings...and even the signs. Some people post the strangest of things.... "liposuction that unicorn good, man......" The girl mumbled to herself, whilst raising an eyebrow at a paper tapped to the post. Surely, it wasn't a band name. But of course, it was. Silly names. Turning quickly, she'd walk into one person, take a step back, walk into another and find herself consumed in apology. Feeling bad for walking into strangers. Silly silly. "Sorry about that, I wasn't watching where I was going." Spoken in a friendly tone, while look wore a sweet smile and her eyebrows arched in a worried fashion. She didn't want any trouble. it was the last thing she'd want.[/ul] [[OOC: sorry for the fail XDD;;; its been a while and I'm not used to Hilde]]

I was already tired today, last night I dealt with a pedophilic drug dealer who was beating on some young girl. He spoke about how it wasn't over and to me it doesn't matter. I'm still new here and it won't matter until I get some real steam behind me. Though to be honest He wasn't the only guy I dealt with last night and truthfully I'm stil not completelyl used to the late nights yet, getting better though.
'For some reason I think it's gonna be one of those days.' I thought to myself as I walked on. I put my hands into the pockets of my hoodie. I kept my hood off though; a little rain never hurt. Of course seeing as my mind was elsewhere I failed to prepare myself for the incoming red head who bumped into me. "Sorry about that, I wasn't watching where I was going." She said, "oh, it's no problem." I told her, "I wasn't paying much attention myself." I added with a quick smile.

"ha ha ha ha, glad I'm not the only one!" Hilde smiled at the stranger as she looked up at him. Blanking on what to say next, the girl just went with whatever was the first thing to come to her mind. ask fro directions. Looking at the ground and then at the passers by, for a moment only. She'd tilt her head to the side and nervously smile. God did she ever feel like an idiot.
Whatever the reason behind her actions, it didn't really matter. It was going to be a good day. Perhaps one full of adventure and what not. Just what the doctor ordered. "I'm kind of new here, I was wondering if you could help me. I'm looking for a few places. Could you by chance give me directions?"
So pathetic...I mean really...
"I'm very sorry for bothering you, I just don't really wish to get lost." Followed by chuckling. Man did she ever feel silly. Not only for her tactics, but because some people were staring at her. Hilde was dressed a little out of the norm... To most. never did she let it get to her, after all it wasn't like they were dressing in any interesting way.
You are going to fail... Your sadness fills my days with Joy...

It was funny seeing this girl fumble for a bit; it was innocent, and you don't see that often anymore. She stumbled for her question and I couldn't help but smirk. Besides that though she gave off some kind of feeling that interested him.
"I'm kind of new here, I was wondering if you could help me. I'm looking for a few places. Could you by chance give me directions?"
I had just gotten used to the scenery here and could play tour guide. Besides school will be there later.
"I'm very sorry for bothering you, I just don't really wish to get lost."
The look on her face afterwards; though appearing carefree, hid something. And I'm not gonna lie...It enticed me.
"Yeah, I'll help you with getting around." I said with a smile, "Where to first? I'm Shane."

It was surprising to hear that he had actually agreed. The red haired girl looked up at the stranger...Shane.. With a bright smile on her face. The first step to getting to know an area. Meeting someone friendly! The first step was a success... Unlike what that voice had said. Negative thoughts always seemed to linger, she had always assumed it was her conscious.. trying to tell her to keep herself away from people; in order not to get hurt. But it was boring. Why live life playing it safe, when things happen and you get hurt; its all apart of learning.
"Thank-you so very much! My name is Hildegard.." She'd pause for a moment and look down, only to look up once more and smile."It's kind of an odd name, you can call me Hide!" Still smiling away. No matter how bright the light, there is always a shadow.
I hope I'm not coming off too strongly...
It's not going to last...silly girl...
"I need to find a grocery store near by, a cafe, annndddd Public High School #774." Always sounding so happy, the girl looked around. Unsure of where to go, she'd look to Shane once more. "Lead the way Capitan!" Being friendly, making silly comments and laughing. Things she longed to hold on to. Maybe she'd make a friend. Hopefully.
Prepare for failure and sadness Hilde..
It was time to ignore the negativity. Try her best to find a place and enjoy the new land she called home. "It's very nice to meet you! Thank-you..again! You don't need to take me to all of the places if it's too much. Sorry for askign for so much."

I couldn't help but laugh; she called me captain for chrissakes! "Alright; Hide," I said, "Just follow me and we'll get where we need to go in no time." I said winking to the girl. I knew of several grocery stores near here, but one was particularly close so I took her to that one first.
"I gotta say, your accent really doesn't show. You're German right?" I asked as we walked down the street to the store I took her to.

She was happy, to be shown around and to talk to someone her own age. It was dull being around no one but her father, time for a well deserved change. The smile would not fade from her, it was fun. To walk and talk. To see the new city, to experience what it was like to walk into a complete stranger and to spent the afternoon with them. "Sounds like a plan...ha ha ha ha." smile. smile.
Following the young man, she'd match his pace. So they could walk and talk beside each other. He could guess her ethnicity off the bat? "German. ha ha. I've been in American since I was young, so I sadly don't have the accent." Looking at him once more, Hilde would spend a few moments trying to guess what he was. Sadly, she wasn't as sharp as he was, although he name did give it away...a little. "What about you? Have you always been in America?"
Crash and burn....crash and burn...
The red haired girl felt a little stupid for asking such a question. Turning her head from the left to the right, she'd look around at all the streets, the windows, the people... Everything. Trying her best to take everything in, to make mental maps of where they are and where they had been. All to keep herself from getting lost.
A GOOD IDEA...in a big city.

"Actually no." I told her, "I just came back to San Diego a while back." 'Why are you telling her this?' The voice of my...other self said in a scolding fashion, 'What's the worst that can happen?' Am I seriously arguing wiht myself? "It's good to be home though." I said.
I looked to my side and saw the grocery store. "This the one?" I asked pointing to a small building that looked more like a mom and pop organization.

"Is that so? Were you travelling?"
She was always curious about the adventures others had, if they were fun.. Anything. A story was a story. Learning more about the person, whilst giving them the special feeling that they are being listened to, whole heartedly. Opposed to those who just kind of tune in and out. Hilde loved to make other people happy, it kept them smiling and they stuck around longer.
As they walked, the girl made sure to memorize things.. From what she had seen, it was looking to be a good neighborhood; a good change. Even the grocery store was cute. "This one is lovely! thanks again." There was just something about it that made the store seem so cute. The fact it looked family-like, instead of looking like a monster like larger chain stores.
So cute...
tick...tock....Tick...tock... Why don't you give up already?
As discouraging as the voice was, Hilde ignored it to her best. She only wished to make a good impression on Shane... A friend is always a good way to start life in a new area. Perhaps he'd be her first? Smile. Smile.

Her question kind of threw me off; don't know why though, "uh...Yeah, I have actually."
She thanked me for bringing her there,"It's no problem." I said smirking a bit. She was nice, I had been here a few times and really there a few things that worry me about it. But then again everything seems fine.

"Oh really? That's wonderful. Sounds nice to see other places." Hilde smiled as she looked over at Shane. They walked, the streets were busy, people were enjoying the nice day. It was good, who'd want to be inside on such a lovely day? As much as she wanted to ask, she didn't want to pry.... Curiosity killed the cat.
"So, do you know any interesting places around here?" She paused once more, looking at her feet for a second before laughing."Sorry for asking so many questions."
Failll.....you're gonna faill..
Oh shut up! I can do this!"

"Well, I don't know about interesting but I do know a place that has some of the best snack foods and drinks you can find." I told her. "C'mon." I took her to a little market I frequent run by a little Korean man named Mr. Cho. "Mr. Cho, I'm back." I said entering, "Oh, round eye; I can't seem to get rid of you eh?" He replied with a smile, "Oh and you brought a friend?" I nodded, "Just came to see how you're doing and came for some of your food that you sell for jacked up prices." "Jacked up, you must be kidding me!" He chuckled. We both luahged at this.
"C'mon Hilde." I said telling her to follow me to the snacks.

Walking, chatting about the city. Listening to all he had to say... It was interesting... Kind of. Snack foods were good, sure it wasn't exactly a cafe. There were no cute uniforms or cakes and tea. Food was good. Smiling, the red haired young woman watched as Shane spoke to the little old Asian lady. It was rather refreshing to see them both smiling and laughing. Looking around a bit, she couldn't help but find it a little cute... Kind of. :3
"Hm? oh!"
Nodding she, look over at the owner, bow her head a little and follow after Shane. Smiling away, as usual. Pushing her glasses back up into place, the girl looked around. Trying to think what exactly she wanted. Perhaps.. "This place is nice!" She'd laugh again. "Any suggestions as to snacks?"

"If you want anything, you pick anything and trust me it'll be good." I told her as I began to get a drink of chocolate milk from one of the coolers. "Seriously anything you pick would be-" I stopped upon hearing the ringing of someone entering and lo and behold it was a kid dressed as a wanabe gangsta and then walked up to the cash register. "Can I help you?" Mr. Cho asked.
All I saw was the guy open his jacket and Mr. Cho started shaking a bit, 'Not now...' I said inwardly. "Now you're gonna give me the money in that register or...you know what will happen." The theif said. I put my hand forcefully on to Hilde to push her back a bit to hide her until the guy left.
I rushed up to Mr. Cho, "Everything fine Mr. Cho?" I asked rushing forward to him, "I'm fine." He said meekishly. 'Damn...' I thought looking back at Hilde, "Alright Mr. Cho, call the cops. I'll take care of this." I told Mr. Cho the last bit in Korean then turned to Hilde, "Pick out what you need and we can go." Yes that sounds a bit harsh but I can't really do anything right now can I?

"Sounds good!" Hilde smiled as she looked around, trying her best to figure out exactly what she wanted to eat. SAMMICH! Just as she reached for the sandwich, the door rang as yet another person entered. Looking over, she saw it wasn't a customer, more like a robber. Sliding her hand into her pocket, she grabbed her phone. Only to be pushed a little behind Shane. Which played in her favour. She'd send a text to her father whilst watching the robbery, sneaking a shot of the man. Sadly in the commotion, she never got around to attaching the photo.
Living with a police officer means you always need to be prepared for things. To never lose your head in a situation. She remained calm, never really fearing the man with the gun. Perhaps caused from being with her father and the accident back in Germany. Grabbing a sandwich and a bottle of orange juice Hilde followed Shane over to the register, grabbing some cookies along the way....S he was hungry.
Handing over the money and completely missing the Korean."it's okay, I texted my father while it happened. They should be arriving any moment." She's smile at the woman for a moment, feeling rather bad for what happened at the store. " here."
She left a twenty and a ten on the counter, taking her bagged noms before chasing after Shane. " I hope they can catch the guy." They started to walk away from the place just as the police car pulled in. It was her father, Abel Merquise. Once they were further away from the place, she pulled her phone out again. " Now how do I attach a photo again?" She mumbled to herself, staring at the screen on her phone.
"Shane, how do you send pictures from mobiles to other mobiles? I just got this phone... I don't know how to use a mobile." Her question and comment was followed by nervous laughter. She felt like an idiot.
because you are an idiot...
