SLAM.
His locker shut harshly, David taking a quick breather, trying to cool his temper. He had always had trouble with it, but usually he kept such good control. Today, however, his science teacher had finally netted him into irritation, David simply getting up and leaving the class without a word. The man loved to taunt him, and point to him whenever he wanted to use examples. The rest of the class stared at him enviously, and it only caused him trouble throughout the day. Not that he minded trouble, he just didn't like it when another person caused it for no damn reason.
He turned, moving through the crowd, his hood once again pulled up over his head. He liked to wear it more often now adays, keeping it around his ears, warming him, blocking him from view. He had his name Stitched into the back of the sweater as well, so none could miss who they were looking for. He wondered, after his meeting with Jack, what his next orders would be. If he would have to break a teacher, or more students. He continued to walk, knowing that whatever the case, he would take it as it came. He didn't join the gang thinking it would be easy, or totally civilized.
Besides, he was used to it. Whever he walked, it seemed, a river of blood followed. Perhaps, one day, he could actually hang up the gloves, but while he was there, it wasn't too likely. He came to terms with that fact, pushing open the door to the courtyard and walking over to a table. He sat down, popped open his text for Science, and studied on his own, writing down notes as the day wore on.
OOC((Probably pretty shitty. My apologies.))

Eye to Eye.
Early afternoon no doubt, and the spring chickens weren't all too happy. Tests and Quiz's rolling through the halls as Jayr knew just what these students were going through or at least a fair few here and there. By all regards her life was normal; nice family life, a few pursuers here and there, oh but wait things just had to up and change in her face like that. Kevala had handed down the School Captain title to her. No doubt something people wanted for their own, or at the very least the power of it, Jayr however had a use for it only from 9 to 3 as if would seem not extending its powers outside the school hours to do so would be vanity.
Jayr was dressed nicely for today, a one piece spring dress and heels as always, though she wore leggings underneath, there was always the fear now that in some kind of fight she'd unintentionally flash some student. There were often nights where she'd wake up dreading the problem. In her own recluse within the school building she'd fix the edge judging its shortness not to be revealing of anything but a bit of thigh she'd smile and bounce of into the courtyard, a hand wrapped around a few books stapled closely to her chest for protection.
A steady gaze around the yard looking like a pretty mellow day, a few boys on the newly emerging football team tossing around the pigskin, a few drama kids muddled by the trees reenacting a scene from their upcoming showpieces. Jayr would smile as she came to think of these few were ones she had an eye out for. Despite holding fears of her situation she was confident her sacrifices and work ethic could make something of a difference.
Walking slowly towards a free table she'd smile making eye contact with a few students only returning helpful nods and she'd nod in return before catching a boy with a hoody. Why he interested her she couldn't say but it was much better to study with company than all alone in a room full of stares.
"Hey, d'you mind any company?" She'd ask in a complimentary tone setting her books on the table gently and edging her way into the set before he'd fully get the chance to answer. If he did refuse her it'd be no problem getting back up and leaving, she was really not trying to make enemies.

David eyes came up, gazing out through the mess of hair to see a female, setting herself across from him. His gaze immediately caught on her hands- the Gloves of the Captain. So she was the one who Kevela had chosen to replace her as Captain. He wondered if she was strong...had to be, if she was holding that title. Of course, David never knew with the girls here. Some seemed unable to lift a barbell, while others could benchpress him while drinking a bottle of gatorade. He nodded at her question, indicating that she could sit across from him without a problem. He would set his pencil down, bringing his other hand up to clasp them in front of him, watching her face.
"Captain huh?" He looked over his shoulder, checking to see if the other pillars were around. Not yet, but they generally werent far behind. "I do something wrong?"
He would wait to see how she reacted. He felt it unfortunate that his Gang leader felt her a threat. He would likely be asked to remove her, at some point. He didn't think it necessary now, but he would feel a little bad when the time came. Perhaps her pillars were just as strong as she, and could defend her when the assault order was given. Then again...he could save her the drouble of waiting, of the possibility of him befriending her, and just beat her now. He set the thought aside, to be thought about later. He wouldn't unless necessary, or unless she started something first.

How to react.
Jayr would smile as he'd nod taking that as enough of a reply to take her seat positioning across from him settling her books down with a slow motion spreading them out of the stack before re-stacking the one's she would not be using to read at the moment. As for the boy across the table she could feel his eyes on her, not in a perverse manner which was something new but rather an analytical way which could be either embarrassing or forewarning.
"Captain huh?"
Jayr would look up quickly first at him than at herself to see what gave her away searching frantically as though there was something on her person that.....The gloves. She smiled innocently as a rouge color took over her cheeks forming her features into a smile.
"Yeahh...." She'd mutter a bit nervously before straightening up confidently brushing her hair over her shoulder attempting at a little sass.
"I do something wrong?"
Her framed smile would quickly revert back into shock as she jerked her head back for a moment apologetically waving her hands in front of her gently. "No...no.. noo, I'm sorry, didn't mean to come off that way. I just figured you could use the company." She'd smile again trying to get things back at ease.
That and its never good to be all alone.
She'd reflect back away shying back with her chin dropping to tuck into the node of her neck to the right and away so she'd not be looking at him this time.

He relaxed visibly, but not to the point of being caught off gaurd. He always had to be on edge, even if the girl seemed harmless enough. He let a small smile come to his lips, giving her the idea that he was, in fact, friendly. He hated to always come off as a stuck up jackass, and so would try and change that view of himself with her. He picked up his pencil, beginning to write, looking up and offering his name.
"So, my name is David Blaze. Whats yours?"
He would wait for her to respond before giving a little grin. "Jayr. Interesting name. So, how come you were picked as Captain?" He wa interested in a little of her background, of who she was and how she got close enough to Kevela to have the title dropped in her lap without so much as a peep. Should be a rather...interesting tale, he was sure.

Stories all have their beginnings.
Jayr would take to looking up again once she'd realized the moment of inquiry was past and that something of a grin slipped through his own features coming off less paranoid about her coming to knock him around. Unfortunately she supposed that was the burden of being a Captain, having everyone assume you were some kind of rent-a-cop. She'd manage to avert her eyes back to him consciously making an effort to put that out of mind and portray her role differently than a hall monitor.
"So, my name is David Blaze. Whats yours?"
"Jayr Byrne, nice to meet'cha." She'd smile as the small jingle from her wrist brought a hand up to shake subtly hitting the edge of the table as it made its way from her lap. The jingle would be sounded again as she quickly shook the hand that'd hit the edge numbing away the short pain.
"Jayr. Interesting name. So, how come you were picked as Captain?"
"Well I'd say ask Kevala and tell me too, I'm not exactly sure to be quite honest. All I really did was come to her a few times for suggestions that the school could do, a few permissions in order to get my teams together and perform."
Jayr would shrug innocently as she thought about the conflicts now sweating it slightly as she weighed her roles as a student, as Captain of the cheer squad, and now as Captain of the school, let alone all the people hungry for a run in with her. She'd sigh consciously before leaning in on her palms perched at the table elbows spread like a podium for her face.
"Sorry," She'd breath for a second lifting her left hand and placing a strand of her bangs past her ear. "I've just got a lot on my hands right now, afraid of letting people down.....annnd I don't know why I can't shut my mouth." She'd smile a bit awkwardly trying not to come off too much of a nerd for just randomly opening up to a stranger so soon, that was generally against her character.

David would intertwine his fingers as she spoke, watching her face, getting the feeling she felt a little flustered by the whole ordeal. He could understand her frustration at the situation- the Captain title was no joke. It painted a huge red target on your head, making you the ideal candidate for any self-serving individual who wished to make a name for themselves. He shrugged, letting out a little breath.
"Don't be sorry. I can understand the shock of it. But, unless you plan on abdicating it, the only thing you can do is move forward. Get yourself a solid team behind you, stronger than yourself if you feel physically incapable. Keep your eyes peeled for those who have a reputation, because in the end, the only way they have to travel is up, and thats through you, always."
He spoke more than he had in that small amount of time then he had in a very long while. He took a liking to this Captain- she seemed like a nice enough girl to approach a dark and brooding looking male and offer him company. He hoped that, as a Captain, she would prove more in control than Amtrum and less bias than Gallagher. Would hate to see her get hurt unnecessarily, or pick people who were weak simply because they were her friends. You had to be strong as Captain, or the school would eat you alive.
"So, who do you have as Pillars?"

More than just that.
Jayr would sigh evenly coming to a steady neutral, she wasn't the type to get flustered easy or so she thought. Again it was more of our outward externalities that revealed who we truly were, someone across the table could pick out more about ourselves than we can. Maybe thats because we think of ourselves as more than just a princess, as more than a leader, or even more than some pretty face. But truth was in the eye of the beholder.
"Theres more to it than just strength," Jayr would speak simply, openly, even defiantly for that matter.
She'd grown tired of the people in this place simply deducing that what made up a person was their strengths; she had been led to believe it was their weaknesses that truly made them, and more so if they were capable of rising from them. Her lips would purse as though holding back a long winded rant, she wasn't about to get all preachy in his face about things perhaps he had indeed meant more than what he said just as Jayr had meant more in her own few words.
"So, who do you have as Pillars?"
"Not yet, I want to build them off of more than just a stereotype of strength, and more than just obedient dogs." Jayr would say with a bit of a cold vigor, she never liked much of Kevala's choices who were just mindless servants.
"I'm looking for people who can lead well and have enough restraint to deal with matters through a sort of good reputation rather than resorting to fear of the fist."
She'd shrug in an innocent fashion blushing briefly knowing all too well herself that this was not a more perfect world where people could simply state their opinions openly and have them respected.

He cocked an eyebrow when she stated there was more than strength.
"Your right. Which is why i said to get a stronger team behind you if you feel physically weak. I never said give up the title if your physically weak- theres more to being in control than just having big muscles." He didn't say that because of what she said- he was living testamount to his words. When he first got the Captain title, he controlled through strength and mindless warfare. In the end, it cost him more, and made for himself a reputation for being brutal with his students. It had taken work, but he finally moved through that, and he knew now that being a pillar took intelligence, cunning and skill, as well as strength.
"I see. I can respect that. Any prospects?"
Why did he seem so interested? Well, for one, when he arrived her knew the pillars, knew the Captain. Now, with Kevela gone, he was completely in the dark about all of it. Knowledge was power, and he would carve up as much of those spoils as possible, just in case.

Knowledge

"And nor did I acknowledge your statement about surrendering anything." Jayr would retort back, she was the fiery sort and now that he seemed to be putting words in her mouth she was understanding far more about his character as not only a new acquaintance but as his own plans ensued. Did she trust him? Of course not, she'd been raised better than that but she at least gave him the respect enough to prove her wrong.
"I see. I can respect that. Any prospects?"
Jayr would tilt her head to the side thoughtfully her hand held up by a wavering palm. "None yet,"
She'd be clear with that statement but in the same sense very vague. Because truth was she was quite disappointed, there was a picky mannerism to her choices and where people excelled n one quality they showed a nastier side in another which contradicted her long term goals. Everyone had there flaws this much was true but was it too much to ask for a jack of all trades?

"Nor did i."
He never told her she should surrender, only that, unless she planned to, she should get a team behind her. If he felt that strength was the only key to leadership, he wouldnt have told her to find others who were strong, he would have just told her to quit. Besides, perhaps he was off on his statements totally, and she was actually quite capable in a battle. There had to be some reason she was chosen, unless the whims of Kevelas mind forced her into a desperate decision. Regardless, though, the matter of the title was nothing to be whimsical about. She spoke as though he mind could keep her from challenges- Intelligence was a quality you had to have as a person and as a leader, but strength is what would be needed if a contender wished her title.
"Ah, well. I'm sure you'll find someone."
He wouldn't press the issue- though he wanted to know what was ticking in her head, he wasn't about to blow his cover as Thanatos' leader or as the Dragon. He could always just wait for her to decide, and then take it upon himself to calculate those individuals into his plans. He wondered if she even knew who he was, or had looked into the Dragons. Perhaps she didn't really care. He saw no need to reviel himself or his intentions to a girl he didn't even know. Hell, her name was still a mystery. Not that he minded, his was still without statement. Having the captain on your side, at least for now, might be something worth investing in... He gave a small smile.
"Well, if you need help, you can just ask. I'm not a really hard guy to find. Whether you need a tutor or...otherwise." He got excellent grades, and seeing that she had sat with him, perhaps she needed some help with her own classwork. Then again, perhaps she just wanted to be nice. He would look down at his books irritatingly, as though he knew there was nothing to be done, then closed them resigningly.
"I seriously doubt i'll be getting any work done today. Too much on the mind, as it were." He began to pack the books back into his bag, making to stand.
"Care for a walk?"

Subjects aside
Jayr would purse her lips and level her eyes, she was of course uncertain how to approach this, very untrusting of the boy now to some degree as he seemed to almost avoid the conversation now after first being only so inclined to speak out. She'd bite her lip and consider her options.
"I think I'll be fine without the help,"
To that she meant the studies, she may have been stressed out but she didn't have too much a problem in being smart, Of course that was a relative issue at times, and the concept of feeling guilty no she didn't want to get involved with that mess.
"As for the walk, I'm sure I can spare a few moments."
She'd rise to stand collecting her books back in the nook of her arm carrying them without too much care if they spilled out, it would appear slightly uncoordinated at first before she managed to master grace.

Jack was walking around the school as he normally did between his free periods, his eyes continuously scanning for new prospects they were out there, he was sure David was doing the same thing. It was not a shock that when he saw David his newly found and much prized Captain as well as the Grandmaster and his own superior of the Dragons. It was quite funny really, David was his superior within the ranks of Dragon's and Jack was David's superior within the ranks of Deorc Veritas. It spoke a lot about David's humility and his work ethic, these two would get along just fine. Jack instantly hid in the shadows, out of sight, they seemed like they would be going for a walk a small smile crept onto his face and a sinister thought drifted into his mind. His hand shot out for his pocket flipping the keyboard out he would write a quick neutral text to David.
His work was done here turning around he was lurk off into the shadows, moving with the crowed his eyes scanning from left to right, his ears open for the faint sound of a threat. Jack hope David would fight her, he was more than confident in David's skill to win as well as being able to avoid raising suspicion over their organization. David was cunning, smart and intelligent his position of power (Grandmaster) demanded it, and his legacy proved it. Jack chuckled as he thought about the situation he felt sorry for Jayr she had no idea that she was standing in front of the most powerful student at #774.

David's phone buzzed lightly in his pocket, the Dragon flipping it open and lazily casting his gaze over the sudden orders. It was a strange thing for Jack to know...the first time David meets the new Captain, and he has to fight her. Of course he does. He took a deep breath, glancing at her as she got up from the seat. He looked back down at the message, smiling slightly. Yeah, he has to fight her, but not in the way Jack would probably like. He flipped the face closed, stretching his back a little, shaking his head as though to try and work kinks out of his neck.
"You know, rather than a walk, how about something less formal?" He smiled.
Jack would probably be irritated that David, his star Captain, had taken a far lighter road than he would have cared for. But in the end, he guessed it was the males own fault for not making his isntructions clear. He simply said to test her. He said it in a way that meant "Take her out of commission" but those weren't the words given. So David shrugged.
"I haven't gotten my excersize in today- would you care for a quick spar before lunch?" He nodded over at the lard domed building. "We can hit the Gym, go a few rounds...if your feeling up to it." This was the tough part. If she said no, he would have no choice but to fight her in a way she probably wouldn't enjoy. He knew that she was likely strong, but then again, strength had never been a big deal for him. She seemed intelligent, and capable...in truth, he was curious about her abilities, and he wanted to test them. But he would prefer it to be a way that was...less damaging, for both of them.

Tough decisions. She'd take the slow walk cautiously making her time to walk about at a lazy pace though her acquaintance seemed subtly distracted the moment his phone went off. "Is something wrong?"
"You know, rather than a walk, how about something less formal?"
She raised a brow out of honest misunderstanding by what he meant, "You mean walking around in a circle around the school is formal?" She'd make a quick and light giggle covering her mouth again, "Then you'll have to introduce me to what your idea of that is."
Jayr would smile a bit, her hands laced behind her back hoisted briefly up as she took each step marching slightly ahead with the never ending upbeat attitude.
"I haven't gotten my excersize in today- would you care for a quick spar before lunch?"
"Oh?" To be honest Jayr was quite surprised, her movements slowed and she was noticeably more defensive to say the least. "I um, I'm not sure what'd set me up to this, but I suppose if I have no other choice of holding a straight conversation with you."
Jayr would linger on edge, she didn't exactly have the same thoughts as he was expressing but she figured it'd be best to get him a bit worked out maybe she'd understand a bit more about him.
"Lead the way?"
