Baby sitting (Zeke/invite)

It took only a second for serious Gabriel to come out of his shell. With the spilling of soup it was a sense of immaturity but Gabriel could still hope for the best, so it wasn't until Zeke started crying that Gabriel launched up and threw an arm around Donnie's head locking him in a headlock so that Alexis could 'punsih him.'

"Now look what'chu did Donnie he's crying..."

A dark glare as Gabriel held him roughly there for a second to make sure the boy was very uncomfortable before giving him a light sock to the chest just enough to knock the wind out of him but not intended to mortally wound the boy. He knew better.

Following that he'd release his estranged brother and would drop to the floor looking for Zeke till he noticed the little one curled up under the table extending his hand out protectively towards Zeke.

"K'mon Zeke I'll make sure bad man won't get you.... promise." He'd exchange a sure smile hoping the baby would come to Gabriel otherwise he'd go in for him and just hold him there under the table protectively pressing the toddler into his shoulder offering up the finger to nibble on with his slowly growing teeth.

Then the baby started cry and he saw Alexis fling full force at him.

uh oh!

He was just about to stand to avoid getting the flying fists... but Gabriel held him down. Alexis rained down a series of slaps while scolding him for what he had done... Gabriel too...

Finally Gabe let go...but not until he got a blow in of his own. Donnie Gasped for air and he looked at Gabriel reaching for the baby.

"I was playing around! Kids like to get messy! I didn't know he wouldn't like it!"

He got up from the chair and would walk over to Lexi who was still heated. He would grab each arm and pin them to her side and lift her up so she could be at his face level. "I'm sorry Lexi...I didn't mean to make him cry..... and what ever you can't give me shit for sleeping with her... I'm sure if you weren't with Gabriel and some guy did to you what I did to her... you would have not been so innocent...I know you Lexi..."

Alexis was LIVID!

First he had the nerve to talk about Kevala that way in front of Gabriel and her son...then he went on and made Zeke cry. So... yeah she was attacking him. Finally when she didn't have the help from Gabriel 'cause he was busy keeping Zeke company...Donavan picked her up. She tried flailing free..but for a little brother he wasn't so little compared to her....

Finally when she listened to his whole speech she stopped fidgeting. Her emerald eyes turned a bright shade..usually when she was crying..or trying to hold in a cry.

He knew damn well who she was...but that was back at Point Hope...a long time ago... she changed. She never meant to be how she was... Just...She was hurt bad...made herself believe she was a slut... Pathological Liars did have the tendency to somewhat believe her own lies...

And now Donnie let those words slip forth...almost silently calling her a whore.

Heh...Once a whore...always a whore?

Alexis looked down... away from everything. "Put me down."

[Ezekial Seran]

Zeke felt a whole bunch of emotions flood the room and that only made him curl up tighter as he continued to cry and hide himself there. Then, that familiar voice was heard and his little fingers parted so that he could peek out through bloodshot eyes......

Whimpering softly she would finally let his hands drop down, shifting slightly as he looked at Uncle Gabe a bit timidly...His lower lip quivering as he listened and then slowly, given he had only one good arm and the other hurt like hell, crawled over to him.

The instant he was within reach he scurried into his arms, hiding his face and muttering softly..

"Unky make bad bad go way?"

His little voice soft and timid as he clung for dear life to the man's shirt, hesitating a moment before he would take the finger into his mouth and nom on it very weakly.....

Still sniffling and still his little body still trembling rather hard......

All the while his eyes hidden from sight, still a firm believer in the you cant see me policy.

Donnie was sooooooo dead. Even from beneath the table Gabriel felt the tension above, he could feel their words like tremors in the earth. Yes he knew of Lexi's past and he didn't hold her to it not with such vile disregard. In fact it was rare of him to ever bring it up lest she recount a fun moment which there were few of these days. Let alone being her brother and speaking such filth in this house. No, Donnavan had gone too far. It wasn't so much speaking about Kevala as it was Alexis, no one got away with that not while Gabriel was there to do anything about it. While he was not the white knight figure he'd stand up when the time called for it.

A fierce scowl lighting his face as his features furrowed focused not to blow up in one instant but rather focus a blow. A single blow as his legs hung out from under the table his right leg retracting before shooking out a kick for Donnie's shin with all his force probably shattering it and bringing the boy's head straight into the table from collapsing. More than likely at his knees now Gabriel would peel out from under the table holding Zeke up in his arms protectively before forming a barrier between Donnie and Alexis.

"Get up..."

A sharp scowl in his throat trying to tone it down so the words would be sharp enough for Donnie to feel the pressure but not enough to harm either of the two he felt the need to protect.

"Not a word of that in this house, not a word of that ever, family looks out for each other and from what I can see you're too wrapped up in yourself Donavan, pull your head out of your ass and leave now!"

Gabriel's tone harsh and stance immobile as his chest puffed out, chances are if Donnie sought the need to get violent Gabriel would have to take this outside. clearly he'd pushed all the wrong buttons and would do well to learn quick the law of the land.

"If you'd like to continue on the wrong side of the tracks, you and I can take this outside?" His voice heavily weighted by the threat feeling quite the urge to give the boy a stern beating after that show.

Whoops.... that all came out wrong. He saw the hurt in Alexis' eyes... And for that moment he saw Olivia. Now Donavan was serious... he set Alexis down and before he could storm out... Gabriel had kicked his legs out from beneath him. He would fall forward only to be caught by the table...He stood while grabbing for his bloody nose... looking up and he then cracked it back in place with a sicking noise.

"Not a word of that in this house, not a word of that ever, family looks out for each other and from what I can see you're too wrapped up in yourself Donavan, pull your head out of your ass and leave now!"

Donavan would glare at the small girl behind Gabriel.

"If you'd like to continue on the wrong side of the tracks, you and I can take this outside?"

"Fuck this! What kind of lies had she told ya if you believe in family mattas...Last toime I checked... Alexis walked out on Livi and I...We fended fo-a ouwaselves!" his fists tightened. "We had no word from her..... and finally... Livi got out... But Alexis let the suicide happen.. she didn't try helping her! Now hea-ya I am few yea-ya lata..finally found out my sista offed herself! Was it faiya for me to find out so Gawd damn late? Was it Faiya Alexis never called to say 'ello!? No... but she lived on in her pretty lil' life forgetting me. I can say what I want to my sista... She's done worse to me... she is the bitch."

The Greens; Famous for their emotional outbursts.

Donavan huffed out some hair before turning to leave. Before he left the kitchen he punched a hole in the wall.

"I'm outta he-ya."

[Alexis Seran]

Alexis flinched when she saw Donnie head right into the table. She felt sick from the site of his blood... from the look he had given her. She listened to her little brother's heart-filled speech.

It was all true.

She ran away from that family.. didn't think once should she go back to save the two.... instead she chose to forget them. Livi showed up out of no where..that's when she could no longer forget her...she tried making amends..but even found herself making fun of her....Yeah...she felt to blame for Livi's death... and as for Donnie... she never thought once to give him a call and tell him about it... actually... she didn't even know how he found out.

Alexis sat herself down so she would faint... her eyes welling up with tears.. a cringe when she heard the punch in the wall.

She looked up to see Donavan out of the room. Her eyes looked up at Gabriel's.. "Baby..I'm sorry..." she blinked a few times to break away from the tears that were begging to be free.

Zeke honestly did not know what these people were talking about but he could feel pain and anger and all the rest of it rolled into one. Clearly able to do so by the way he cowered and hid his face against Uncle Gabriel.

He was so not used to that kind of outburst. Seeing as how Mommy always made sure there were nice and calm for him. Burrowing in even more as the words grew more heated and loud he finally put his hands to his ears....

Not that it did much to stifle the noise...but he tried none the less...

Then there was a softer mutter.....followed by the sounds of something being hit...........

Then sadness......

He whimpered, closing his eyes tightly to try and pretend that it was all a bad dream...then he would wake up and everything would be fine...

Yes....bad bad bad dream.......

Little knuckles turning white from the grip he had on Uncle Gabe's shirt by now......

[Gabriel Seran]

Gabriel swallowed hard at the mention of Olivia, something like that was treaded ground and he knew the pain associated by it to all parties here minus of course Zeke who was in his own state of shock. But the words Donnie ushered shut Gabriel down so entirely he froze, body lacking the determination to kick the boy's ass, lacking the will to lash out with a much more angry threat, rather he lowered himself, kneeling at the floor beside Alexis, a hand cupping his face.

"What happened to Olivia was my fault..." Gabriel said in a low and tired tone hoping that Donnie had heard it on his way out perhaps maybe hesitated. "If you have any qualms with that take it up with me, Alexis did all that she could. The blame rests solely with me."

Gabriel's voice was weak now, turning to bury his own head in Lexi's lap his grip still tight on Zeke pulling the boy into a reassuring hug resisting his own weakness. Not sure whether to call this sadness or just abysmal exhaustion as the waves of walls held up crashed on him with an instant.

"Baby..I'm sorry..."

"No ma belle, you have nothing to be sorry for, you've always done the best you could, thats all I can ever ask for."

"What happened to Olivia was my fault...If you have any qualms with that take it up with me, Alexis did all that she could. The blame rests solely with me."

Donnie heard those words... He had no idea Gabriel had known about Olivia... And he was taking blame for the death of his older sister. Made him wonder what he had done to her that made her take her life.

He didn't bother going back into the kitchen. Donavan wasn't one to get in a fist fight unless it is absolutely necessary... to protect someone he cared for... but if he were to fight Gabriel...it would only be protecting the girl that he should have a few years back.

Now.. he was out the door.

[Alexis Seran]

Alexis shook her head at what Gabriel was saying. She heard the door close so she knew Donavan had left the house... which was probably for the best.

"I won't be sorry if you stop blaming yourself for Olivia.... it was neither of our faults... The world just pressed too many of her buttons."

Is what Alexis was taught to say in therapy. Something inside her kept nagging at her... she was the reason. Would've she been pushed so far if she was out of Australia with her and not their parents? Would she still be alive and in Lexi's shoes while she struggled to find someone?

It was all puzzling... but she had to learn to look ahead and that everything happens for a reason..may it be something that sucks or not.

Gabriel would lean on her lap and she would huff out some air. Her fingers would comb through Zeke's hair then through Gabe's.

"Scary man gone, Zeke... All gone."

[Ezekial Seran]

Zeke listened and though he sorta was beginning to understand some things people said, he was not too good at it, so he read emotions.

So when the bad bad man left, hearing the door shut, the anger in the room seemed to fade.....Now all that was left was a feeling of sadness and emptiness....Feelings that were not his own and instead coming from the two who he loved just as much as he loved his Mommy......

As he heard Aunty Lex tell him the bad man was gone, felt her hand in his hair, he would finally untuck his head from Uncle Gabe's shoulder, tears still present in his eyes and down his squishy little cheeks.

Moving his body, there was no doubt that in this position Uncle Gabe would have to move in order to give Zeke room, seeing as how he was currently squished between the two.....

It was only then that Zeke would let show just how much he really understood, despite his young age......

Shifting to move his injured arm as well as the other one, he would put both hands on either side of his Uncles face, those tear filled cerulean eyes still shimmering with the tears that had not fallen and those long eyelashes now darker with the wetness of those that had escaped, he would sniffle a few times, catching his breath before he spoke out in a soft, weak little tone.

"Unky no be sads no mores...Eke wuffs you...No sad.."

Leaning in and pressing a little kiss to his cheek before he would drop his hands, because it hurt to keep the one up like that, and shift to lay his head on his shoulder once more. Content for the most part now that the bad man had gone away, wanting only for peoples to be happy again.....Zeke hated the icky feeling that sad stuffies gave hims.

[Gabriel Seran]

"Unky no be sads no mores...Eke wuffs you...No sad.."

The small voice snapping him out of his own self-pity as Gabriel looked up into the cerulean eyes that had its own very short lived past. Though it didn't matter, one could not weigh the worth of one human life in comparison to another. Despite it all Zeke knew what was best, to simply be happy even innocently so self-pity served no higher cause than one's own self destruction. Gabriel had learned that from a life time of serving a purpose of redemption that only led to his own annihilation. He'd force a smile despite his sorrow making the wounds feel better even if they were still pained as he'd settle Zeke atop Lexi's lap and accept the wet kiss at his cheek only managing to make the smile all the more real.

"Thank you...." He'd whisper low enough to barely be caught.

Gabriel's hands moving to Alexis' sides still kneeling before her as he applied a bit of force at her sensitive points just below the ribs hoping to get a small giggle out of her. If he did he'd manage to get his own laugh out thus forgetting his forgone self-pity and press himself into a low hug around her waist holding them both close.

"I love you both so much."

Alexis watched as Zeke went ahead and comforted Gabriel... In such an adult way too. It melted her heart... The thought of having a kid to just...have to take care of you when you felt down. Lexi smiled at the boy then to her boyfriend as he announced his love to the both of them.

Of course he ended up grabbing her sides... usually what they did to each other to get some form of reaction.. and it just never failed. Probably why they always did it. She gave a little jump and a small yelp finally smiling aside from what all happened. Alexis could always look to Gabriel to make her feel better at the end of the day.

"Love you both as well."
