Serious Business okay so to begin with Jayr had been completely serious when she'd stepped out that door, there were things to do, people to see, and all that dribble dabble. But again she hadn't quite thought this out beyond when she got to the store and potentially hadn't exactly seen the little incident with Phoenix let alone the attempted rape in the alleyway.
"Serious business? What are you talking about?”
She'd purse her lips without fully turning to him, her eyes examining the aisle lanes narrowing here and there for what she'd wanted hungrily until she noted the aluminum container. Mouth unparted for a moment to make way for a wide grin as she hurtled skipping down the aisle swiftly taking up the drink.
"Yup serious business."
Her voice fluctuating to fit a wide mischievous grin as she help in her hands a Mocha Latte Rockstar energy drink. Generally when she drank those she got instantaneously wired, and at this time of night it was probably not a good idea but she was a servant to her cravings.

As Jayr turned around and greedily took in the aisles upon aisles of food, drinks and other edible items, Phoenix would do the same, feeling like he could use a pick me up drink anyway. As Jayr skipped past him and mischievously joked at him, Phoenix would follow her at a steady paced walk, looking down each aisle in case he suddenly remembered that he needed to buy something for later, in the absence of this urge, Phoenix would enter the same aisle as Jayr but walk past her a couple of meters until he reached the soda section. Sighting his favourite beverage, Pepsi, Phoenix would grab a single 600ml bottle and walk up next to Jayr with it in hand.
“I see what you mean by serious business.”
Seeing what Jayr had picked out to buy, Phoenix wondered at the unhealthy amount of caffeine, sugar, and whatever corporations tried to fit into those metal cans. Knowing that that wasn’t going to influence Jayr for the better in the long term, Phoenix wondered why she was going to buy it.
“Are you sure you want something like that so late at night?”

Take a chance The phrase ringing a bell in her mind constantly, always with here there were those opportunities in life where you had to take risks and do something bold otherwise life was without its simple pleasures. Caffeine was one such simply pleasure but it was not the leap she was referring to, perhaps taking a risk at hanging with a stranger in the middle of the night risking all kinds of foolish things under this influence let alone the crash. That was perhaps the biggest thing on her mind. Well she'd have to teach him before crashing then wouldn't she.
“I see what you mean by serious business.”
A short little giggle emerging from her lips as she bit her nails innocently trying to disguise her mischievousness. Like they'd ever truly catch on, twas a clear thought in mind. She shrugged and settled her hands at her sides swaying her hands back and forth as she headed down the aisles to the front register.
“Are you sure you want something like that so late at night?”
A snort of laughter before she concealed her mouth and nose with a palm, "Like you're going to stop me."
She glanced back with a controlled smile nudging him slightly with her hips as she positioned herself in front to pay.
"That'll be $3.50 sweetie."
Jayr grinned back in return setting her hands into her pockets searching for her wallet. The action would appear strenuous as she licked her lips in the effort to find. "Shit..."
She cursed aloud before offering her lips to mouth 'sorry'
"I forgot my wallet back at home, d'you mind spotting me?"
Her hands balled up in front of her and knees buckled with an innocent little smile fired right in his direction hoping that perhaps he'd play the gentleman and not subject her to the torture of going without her addiction.

Phoenix heard the slight giggle that pushed past Jayr’s hands and was amused that she found him slightly funny, not many people did, but then again he wasn’t exactly employing his usual humour. Watching Jayr’s back as she walked ahead of him towards the cash register, he would hear say something back at him, playfully teasing him into another word game, and just like before, Phoenix was only to happy to indulge Jayr.
“Who knows? I might stop you?”
Phoenix would speed up his walk and make a mock grab for the caffeinated drink that she held cost to her chest, pulling back before his hand even got halfway, Phoenix would walk alongside her for the remaining couple of meters until he fell behind her, allowing her to purchase her drink first.
Looking around to see who else was in the store at such a late hour, Phoenix saw that it was virtually deserted except for the cashier at the register. Phoenix turned his eyes back towards Jayr who was anxiously searching through her pockets. As she drew her hands out, Phoenix saw that they were empty and the inevitable expletive that followed the realisation that she had forgotten her wallet. Sure enough, almost directly after that realisation, she turned to Phoenix with an apologetic look on her face and asked if he would pay for her. As she assumed a cute position and directed an innocent smile at Phoenix, he knew that he was going to end up paying for her. It was the gentlemanly thing to do, after all. Stepping up beside her, Phoenix would reach into one of the pockets in his overcoat and produce his wallet.
“Together thanks. You owe me for this one, Jayr.”
Phoenix would direct the first half of his comment at the cashier and the second half at the girl standing beside him, as he spoke to Jayr he would allow a cheeky half smile to manifest itself across his lips. The cashier displayed the amount required and Phoenix reached into his wallet pulling out the required currency. Picking up both his drink and Jayr’s he would walk outside and turn to his left once he passed through the door. Walking about five meters he would stop and lean against the wall with both of the drinks in his hands. As his back made contact with wall, Phoenix would cross his arms against his chest, effectively shielding the drink from Jayr in a playful manner.
“So how badly do you want this drink?”
Phoenix would tease, wondering what type of reaction it would coax from Jayr.

Like Clockwork “Together thanks. You owe me for this one, Jayr.”
Jayr grinned as he effectively played her game, though whose to say it was cunning manipulation or just happy coincidence, in fact one could propose she left the house without the wallet on purpose to plan this entire thing out someone with a serious case of OCD could manage a plan like that, but then again she'd have also had to plan that she'd be running into a guy like this as well and certainly who would willingly put themselves in danger for caffeine.
Jayr grinned at the other end giddy and bright eyed as her cerulean hues deemed fixated on the can. Of course there was the opportunistic gesture he made of snatching them both up thus confiscating all semblances of power. A glare was formed on her face. Should have predicted that would end up happening.
“So how badly do you want this drink?”
'How badly would you like to stay a man?'
The thought entered her head with subtle dark smile creeping into place as she thought about how far she'd go to satisfy her needs. Yes she'd probably go that far. But not tonight, like she thought earlier this guy was okay.
"Well...." She'd start walking over in a slow manner her eyes locking on his, her legs taking longer more focused steps as they crossed over one another in an exaggerated degree.
"I think I'd do just about anything to get my fix in." Words spoken in a husky voice getting close enough to put a hand on his chest, her right grabbing onto his shoulder and left sliding up his chest closer to the desired target. Her lips would pucker slightly getting closer towards his.
With a smooth little gesture, swift and gentle she'd pull free the can using the right hand to hold his body down and her left around the can mixed with its wet contours to slip past his grip into hers. A wide smile on her face feeling victorious as she pulled away slowly hoping he hadn't noticed the breach in his security.
*Snap... Fizzzz*
"Thank you Sweetheart." She'd wink her lips curling up before she downed a small portion of the drink feeling the race to her heart. This was just too much fun.

Phoenix saw Jayr teeth shine through the darkness of the night as a suggestive smile played across her lips as she spoke one word and then alluringly walked over to Phoenix, carefully placing one foot in front of the other. Jayr neared Phoenix and spoke again, however, this time her voice was brushed with a husky tone almost as if she was suggesting something. Phoenix would play the part of the victim and would allow Jayr to place her hand on his chest. Phoenix saw her lips pucker as she edged closer towards his handsome face, smiling playfully, Phoenix would uncross his arms and move them behind his back, denying her grasping hands the caffeine that they so desperately sought to find.
Phoenix would look directly into Jayr’s eyes, allowing his true chaotic nature to manifest itself a little in his irises.
“Almost anything you say?”
This word game had proved to be fun so far and it was steadily increasing in interest as the night progressed on. Hopefully, Phoenix thought, Jayr is having as much fun as I am as well.

Almost being loosely defined... Seeing as how Phoenix seemed to be unwilling to release the can and determining the amount of force required to keep that thing from leaving his grip mixed with the force of Jayr's pull along with snapping the release cork on the cap would inevitably end in Phoenix crushing the can between his grip and the top coming off it.
“Almost anything you say?”
A giggle escaping her as she backed away swiftly as the caffeinated drink would explode over him, the liquids lurching out off the cap spraying all over him and getting her a bit too. Good thing she worked in a coffee shop so this wasn't entirely a horrid thing. But regardless her swift laughter would turn quickly into a pouting face having had a short bit of fun only to realize her addiction was now all over the floor.
"Now look what you've done.... guess you'll have to buy me another." She smiled playfully feeling that despite their loss she had an ultimate victory.
"You Kids making a mess, get out of here!" The bag lady from behind the counter said pulling herself out from behind the small door with a mop handle trying to chase them off.
"Oopsie. C'mmon!" Jayr would say grabbing his arm to pull him off outside again hurtling herself quickly down a block.
By the time they'd gotten there if Phoenix had followed along Jayr would be short of breath taking time to lean against the wall of a closed furniture department her chest heaving but nonetheless a smile shown through.

Phoenix heard the giggle and knew what was going to happen, unable to avoid the flying spray of liquid that had been launched at him, Phoenix would feel the impact of the liquid on his overcoat, yet he would remain dry under the thick fabric. Letting the drink drop to the ground, Phoenix would smile at Jayr’s pout whilst removing his overcoat and swinging it over his shoulder. Holding his jacket their with one hand, Phoenix would give Jayr a playful look upon hearing he thinly veiled request for another drink.
As the lady cashier yelled out at the two of them from behind the counter and began chasing with them the handle of a mop, Phoenix felt a tug on his hard followed by a short statement from Jayr. Allowing Jayr to pull him along, Phoenix would keep pace easily as he was used to a more extreme form of exercise thanks to his training partner, Jack. Coming to a halt beside Jayr, Phoenix was amused to see that Jayr was short on breath and that her chest was heaving, trying to draw in as much oxygen as she could. Laughing. Phoenix would respond to the smile that Jayr gave him.
“You’re out of breath already? Maybe I really do need to protect you.”

Jerkface
“You’re out of breath already? Maybe I really do need to protect you.”
The laded glare jolting from her vision as she swallowed hard, the necessary oxygen going unneeded. Vice and irritation was beginning to build up, clearly he was taking the joke too far and rather than being playful he was just out to insult her. Clearly this boy was no newcomer to rejection, or if he wasn't he'd soon realize just how harsh it felt. A cunning smile dashed across her lips as she began breathing hard again this time she was faking it. An actor from youth drama was one of her favorite programs and aspired to be an actress following high school so this was just a bit of play time.
"Hey Phoenix, would you mind helping me out, seems I dropped my phone while running here, and I'm just exhausted." She panted with a small little shrug of fretfulness.
"I'll make it up to you when I have it back..." She smiled whimsically projecting her bust out for entertainment purposes. She didn't like being made the fool, she'd perhaps see how he managed as such.

Phoenix glanced around the area that they had stopped in, seeing a normal street in San Diego for this time of night, deserted. Phoenix was momentarily distracted by the sound of murmurs only to realise that it was the lady cashier from the store talking to herself.
As Jayr spoke, Phoenix turned his view from the empty and dark street back down to Jayr. Curiously, she was still doubled over, drawing in deep, racking breaths in an attempt to get enough oxygen to her lungs. He was even more surprised to her a plea for help. Phoenix wasn’t sure as to why she couldn’t walk the necessary meter to retrieve her phone, however, from the looks of her, it didn’t look like she was going to move anywhere for a little while.
Smiling slightly at the vague, provocative promise, Phoenix would walk about 1 meter past Jayr, turn around so that he was facing her and bend his knees so that he was in a crouching position. Reaching down he would momentarily turn his eyes to the phone to make sure he picked it up, and just as quickly return his eyes back to Jayr, not wanting to miss the curious display of just how much her chest was heaving. Standing back up, Phoenix would take the two steps he needed to reach Jayr and hold out her phone.
“Here you go, its not damaged in any way.”

How anti-climactic
Clearly this was going to get dull really fast as the boy simply walked over in a dull motion and grabbed her phone with the simplest of ease. She'd resist rolling her eyes as her lips pursed peevishly. At least make it fun thats what a girl really wanted especially one like her Jayr was not amused easily it took effort to a great degree to stand out in her mind as something more than just a boy.
“Here you go, its not damaged in any way.”
"Thanks..." The slow and edgy response as Jayr turned around skipping off. The speed intenser than her walk as that change of pace gave away her false heavy breathing. She had more stamina than that. The motions of hopping about giving her that extra heat needed to move along even towards the next inlet of buildings just a block from home.
She wasn't bitter about the lack of amusement, she just felt the need to go home where she could at the very least procure her own little bit of enjoyment here and there. But this evening was turning around something she could tell through perhaps women's intuition or some new age genre like that.
But nevertheless she turned up a smile flashing it so that she could consider herself upbeat as they would have to come along the coast. Still silent and edgy Jayr would eye to coastline before feeling the tremulous breeze raise up and she'd shiver huddling into the cornered inlet before she manned up and prepared for her avid sprint across.

Phoenix heard Jayr’s thanks and accepted it with a short nod, however, there was something more to her reply than what her words betrayed, there was an edge to her voice that sounded almost liked disappointment. Phoenix’s mind began racing, what could she be disappointed about, thought Phoenix to himself.
As she stood up and began to skip off, seemingly having regained her breath so that this was possible, Phoenix would briskly walk behind her wondering why she had just walked off without saying anything else to him.
The wind suddenly picked up as they came to a halt and Phoenix noticed that Jayr was shivering. Deciding to employ something that he usually ignored, Phoenix would bring his overcoat from behind his shoulder and hold it out to Jayr.
“Would you like my coat? I know it’s got some of your drink on it but it should keep you warm.”
Flashing Jayr a charming smile, he would wonder why she had been so disappointed at his actions and also how she had regained her breath so quickly.

Really?
A dull stare as Jayr looked back at the boy, this one was seriously a bit inexperienced with women he could tell or at least he was trying to come off as the bad boy type with a heart, something she was catching onto. Course she'd seen all the movies where the handsome hero from a dark background saves the marvelous princess. They often made her gag because of the poor steams towards real life. And to top it off Jayr wasn't exactly a nice girl in her own right.
“Would you like my coat? I know it’s got some of your drink on it but it should keep you warm.”
A charming grin to match as she eyed him up quickly her stare turning disapproving, not that the gesture wasn't nice but rather the simple fact that his presentation was lacking that romantic spur that her much like other women would dot over.
"Clearly you're a bit inexperienced but you don't ask a girl if she wants something..." She'd roll her eyes arching an arm out for him to give it to her with her fingers rolling in a 'gimme gimme' gesture. If he coughed it up she'd huddle up enjoying the brief moment of warmth before she felt the stickiness of the caffeine on the coat's exterior and shudder with a disgusted gesture.

Phoenix’s stared at the face of ungratefulness, apparently she wasn’t taking a liking to this façade. Allowing the mask of the charming hero with a dark, mysterious side to fall away, Phoenix would switch the charming smile into his favourite and most used facial expression; a sinister half smile that encouraged fear, incited evil and showed nothing all at the same time.
The girl shuddered as she felt the cold, wet stain that had been previously left from the drink that had been spilt all over the overcoat. Phoenix allowed the half smile across his features to shrink back to a stoic expression and suddenly reached forward as he had decided that things had become to boring for him to keep up his façade for any longer. Reaching into a pocket on his overcoat that Jayr was now wearing, he would pull out the bottle of Pepsi that he had purchased back in the store. Opening the lid with a pleasing sound, Phoenix would take a measured draught before flicking the lid one way and bringing the soda down by his side.
“You’re pretty ungrateful, you know that right?”
Phoenix felt the chaos rise up inside him again as emotions crashed within his psyche. Chaos, rage, lust, anger, hate, pride, revenge, everything swirled around in a vortex only to be wiped away a second later as Phoenix decided on a course of action. Maintaining the stoic expression on his face, he would bring the soda up from his side and jerk the bottle forward, splashing the cold soda all over Jayr’s already wet overcoat. Smirking, Phoenix would see what kind of reaction he had stirred up.

Deal with it “You’re pretty ungrateful, you know that right?”
No doubt he was upset with her to not yielding to his attempts at charm, Jayr had seen the plays and not just by him but by other men, if you wanted to be something you needed to stand out and this guy certainly wasn't making a large impression other than those stalker boyfriends of the past who acted bitter when things didn't work out their way.
"Yeah well you're not much the charmer." She flashed back her own devilish glare showing she was unafraid at his attempts of being scary.
That was until he grew so bold as to splash her with the soda. Big eyes shot back at him a mix between confusion, shock, and anguish. Yeah he'd crossed the fucking line, evidently this boy had some sort of inadequacy whatever that be she didn't care all too much for him at the moment and she'd come back with a swift reply.
"HA! Jokes on you this is your jacket genius." Jayr would stick her tongue out at Phoenix before turning about and crossing the street to her house.
"Classic male bravado you have I applaud you."
Jayr would perform a little golf clap at his expense before turned at the door and sidling the huge coat off her shoulders whilst slowly and sensual rolling her shoulders sending a quick look back before dropping it at the doorstep, stepping inside and locking the door. Yup quite an eventful evening.
