Things inevitably got rolling, and class began, one student answering after another, some answers enthusiastic enough, others just plain bored. Not a stranger to the setting and what was being asked Aleece made it her own assumption she could go next since an order in which everyone was answering didn't seem to be prevalent at the moment.
"Dionysus - he was the son of Zeus and Semele, and was the god of wine, vegetation, pleasure and festivity," it was a short answer but it was an answer nonetheless, the history of that particular deity, like any other really, was told in many different ways, and Aleece thought it best to stick with the sure answer of what was reoccurring through everything she about it.
She couldn't help but become a little more aware at this point, finding the air getting uncomfortable due to the fact she had physced herself out before even starting here, but keeping herself positioned to the front. Making note to herself that she would be removing herself from the class as soon as possible.

IC:
Jack's turn was next.
"Jack" He didn't divulge his full name, he assumed that he was he only Jack on the list and if he wasn't then she'd naturally ask him his last name and they'd go on from there. As it worked out he was the only Jack in the room and it was pretty obvious which one he was on the list. Thus the teacher ticked off his name with a nod and allowed him to continue.
"There's no such thing as the Greek Patheon. If you want us to talk about the Patheon then we'd be referring to the Roman gods, Jupiter, Mars Mercurry ect and not the Greek gods, Zues, Ares, Hera, Athena ect. Did you mean the Parthenon?"
Jack would ask raising his right eye brow as he did so. He never considered himself intelligent but he knew his own families history and their legends. He was proud of his heritage.
He was a very logical person, he assumed that this simple distinction between the Pantheon and the Parthenon was what the question was really trying to get the students to answer.
Fucking morons.

OOC: If you are offended by my character's portrayal of the female body please ignore me for I am an immature little boy afflicted with serious "problems"
IC:
It would seem as though the boy he offered a friendship with would leave him hanging. The poor misguided Guy alone in this cruel world without a friend as he smiled dimly still accenting a passionate show of driven acceptance. Rejected, tossed aside as though he was.... Oh look Bewbies. His eyes darted over toward Lianna's chest the current affliction of ADD only broken by the rosy heat to his cheeks eyes darting away to the Pillar's corner where they seemed to be conglomerating. At this point though Guy only knew the one, the others however holding intimidating stares. Jack he knew briefly, seen the boy's athleticism but didn't "know" him.
Guy however disregarded the rest paying a dull implication to names and faces all too giddy by the sentiment of life and perhaps prosperity of his own. School was to have fun and....learn?
His body inadvertently picking itself up and out of Devon's window space as he carried on to Lianna's side. the action in itself was a choice made for a multitude of reasons. 1) She was a new face, a new person to befriend and better know in such a school where Violence ran rampant. 2) She was in between him and Kevala and like hell he'd be getting his ass kicked. 3) The obvious and perhaps for Guy the best decision, She had bewbs.
"Hi there," He'd say in a cheery tone, "I'm Guy" (pronounced Gee)
"Now if I can have everyone's attention. This class will be discussing something I consider very basic in mythology, or at least that is my opinion of it....The Greek Pantheon. So how about we go about the room and everyone give me their names and one thing they know about that specific deity."
guy's head would turn up subtly looking the teacher dead in the Breasts. "Lolwut?"

OOC: I never got to read what Aleece had posted to set you off, but I'm appalled by your lack of tact. Even if anything you said had any ring of truth to it the fact that you decided to put it in a note to berate her publicly destroyed any credibility to your argument for the time being, especially considering it's condescending tone. In the future take up such concerns directly with the person in question or staff.
Ari seemed rather at a disadvantage throughout the entire discussion. The little he knew about Greek Mythology was completely blown away by the other students, to which he could only sigh and rest himself a bit more comfortably. Some things that he heard were interesting, but he had come to learn, not be quizzed on something he hadn't learned yet.
With a sigh he would glance to his side, noting that Aleece had picked up on the heightened tension in the class room. It was for this reason he hadn't put high hopes in their ability to go unnoticed. But he didn't like the fact that she was uncomfortable, and so he decided to purposefully redirect the attention of the class toward himself.
Abruptly he stood, his hands resting at his side, his entire posture relaxed as he looked to the teacher, completely ignoring his fellow students, sans Aleece, as he intended to address the teacher alone. "Perhaps I misunderstood the concept of teaching somewhere along the line, although I doubt the definition varies widely. But should it not be you who informs us of mythology for our consumption?"
None of the other students, including the only person he cared to make mention of, had any problem with it. And in truth neither did he, although it did confound him slightly. But with his relaxed stance and the strong tone he employed demanded acknowledgment of those around him, especially considering the fact he was questioning the structure of the class as a whole.

( OOC: Astrid will not be receiving any exp for this thread, she is here for the simple act of plot development. Just so there is no confusion as to why I am letting her join. )
She was late, that was more than clear as her heavy steel toed combat boots thudded against the now deserted hallway. Blue eyes scanned the rows of lockers as she made her way toward the class she had been assigned. Door after door.....class after class..They were all the same, full of eager yet violent young minds ready to learn yet so willing to fight. It was enough to make her want to crawl into herself all the more.
Today had not been good, in fact it had been down right horrible. She had woken up late, and after a mad dash to get dressed she had ended up in a white mens' button up shirt, the fist few buttons undone, a black tie loosely draped about her neck and tucked under the collar of her shirt. The only thing missing was the school girl typical pleated skirt.....Pft! Yeah right! She had outgrown her late Mother's desire for her to be a prim and proper lady the day that Uncle Leon had died. Now, she was as much one of the guys, so to speak, as any good tom boy should be. Nope, today she had on a pair of jeans the shirt of course untucked, and though it looked a bit sloppy, somehow she managed to pull it off.
It could have been that her hair, shimmering waves of blond, was so long that it set off her delicate features just right, giving her just enough appearance to seem pretty. Like everyone told her she was. Bleh! She hated it, but for some reason the idea of chopping off all those golden waves was just like disgracing her Mother's memory, something she could not do. Her family was bound together by their honor and love for each other...To disgrace the woman's memory would disgrace Astrid and she could not have that. So for now, she was stuck with it.
Sighing softly, she looked up at the next door she came to, noting the number and then looking down at the schedule that rested in her hand. Yup...this was it.....Ugh! Closing her eyes for a brief moment she sighed, shrugging her beat up looking backpack onto her shoulder. Yeah it was all jacked up, but who cared? It was still useful and it was the last thing her parents had bought her before they were killed.
With a soft brush of her fingers to the band around her wrist, the one her Father had always used to cover his eyes, she gathered her courage and entered pulled open the door. No doubt interrupting some sort of lesson.....
"Perhaps I misunderstood the concept of teaching somewhere along the line, although I doubt the definition varies widely. But should it not be you who informs us of mythology for our consumption?"
Oh look...She had walked in right when somebody had decided to mouth off to the teacher. Yay her! Rolling her eyes as she moved over toward the woman leaning against the desk at the front of the room.
"I am sorry I am late, here is my excuse from the office."
She said softly, handing the note over to the teacher and then turning about to look at the rest of the class.....And there she was, her entire reason for being here and the bane of her existence.
She swore if it were not for those kids, she soooo would not be here. Offering a forced friendly smile to Kevala, she turned around and moved to take a seat back behind the rest of the class, off to the side of where Kevala and her little group had gathered. Yeah...away from everyone...that worked....Kept them away from her.
Sliding her bag off her shoulder, she slouched down into her seat, eyes not really looking at anyone now...just sorta existing there until this thing was over with and she could go on with the rest of her day. No attention paid to the rest of the students, though her senses were on alert...She hated new people..couldnt trust a single one of them....and everyone she did trust was in another city....Great! She was so screwed.....

Gabriel would nod with a court smile, his features cold and unresponsive to whatever kind of reply he'd been given from the teacher, her mood above all else was quite perplexing. At least to Gabriel himself. He didn't know too keenly well her relations to Thierry Durand. Walking slowly to his seat however he felt the heat of several eyes on him. Certainly they were keen to his presence especially Kevala whom with a shift of his head looking back he found those hues glaring down at him. A wink as if to suggest that he'd not be ruining her class just yet.
*Pitch*
The sound of the PA system going off overhead and fumbling at the Dean's table for a moment as he murdered into the microphone.
"Would Aleece Fontecilla, and Ari Haswari report to the Deans office immediately."
*pitch*
The mumbling ending and the eyes of Gabriel peered backwards over his shoulder. Curious... what did that old coot have in mind?

Vanessa had to laugh softly as the last of the students made his response...It was cute actually.
But either way she cleared her throat to settle herself down and then drew in a soft breath. Letting the tension in the room, which by the way could be cut with a fucking knife....settle into place. Great, she would get the class with all the hot heads and such. Just her luck.
Then, the door opened and a young girl slowly walked in, handing her a note from the office to excuse her from being late and then making her own apology. Vanessa simply nodded and let her take her seat, shaking her head as the tension in the air again seemed to rise.
Either way she finally spoke up....Her tone soft and light, not a hint of irritation held within it.
"Well, first off I would have to commend Jack's response, seeing as he is the only one to really catch onto my little 'slip' just now. Secondly, Jack, I refer to it as the Greek Pantheon because in today's society it is what most are comfortable with using. I also did such to see if any of you knew the difference. Very good."
Those blue eyes then cut to the boy who thought he could be a smart ass....In her class.....It was soo cute....With a light roll of her shoulders she reached up and pushed some of her hair over her shoulder.
"I guess I can gauge from your reply that you do not know anything. Which is simply what I was testing. It is always good to know what you are dealing with before you go running your mouth. But then, I suppose nobody taught you that. Shame really. Basic fundamentals of life...Maybe you will get lucky and catch up soon enough."
Her tone was that of a placating nature. Daring him to say something else to her. She had not trouble dealing with some smart ass punk who thought he was so fucking smart....She had dealt with that kind of shit her entire life.
Just then the intercom came on and she turned her eyes to the class, though she had not gotten their names from them, she would wager a guess as to which two it was......
Her head nodding toward the door as she smiled still soft and sweet. Basically a gesture to get out and do what they were told.
Once they were gone, and the distractions were gone, she then turned back to the class.
"Okay, those were good replies, though Jack is right.....That is truly a falsehood in what I spoke. Now, everyone go to the back of the class and grab a text book, then as you read chapter 15 tell me why it is that the Roman sector is so commonly over looked in today's society."
She would then just sit back, still leaned against the desk, her eyes shooting to her "assistant" she honestly did not know why he was here and it set her at an unease.....But then that could just be she was waiting on one of the pillars to snap on one of the others........

Aleece would have been content to not listen to the answers given after her own, but when someone behind her, with no particular interest as to who it was, seemed to stand and give his rather brash answer, she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
Did you mean the Parthenon?
Her lips pressed together and pursed out to hide her amusement at that and with a light shake of her head sat back in her seat, how ever she couldn't help but even throw a healthy dose of skepticism toward the teach, "I was under the impression the Parthenon is a temple in Greece, dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena. While partheon was a dedication to all the gods, since it is literally translated as pan - all; theon - god..."
And shortly after that, Aleece nearly wanted to smack her hand right into her face when Ari stood. She was left wondering what he was trying to do smarting off, even though she had expressed her want to keep relatively low key. Looking at him out of the corner of her eye she was about to tug him back down, or maybe just lean forward and put her head down, but the intercom crackled to life in the next instant.
"Would Aleece Fontecilla, and Ari Haswari report to the Deans office immediately."
Looking up to the speakers and frowning lightly, Aleece stood, her hands scooping up her things without though, her gaze falling back to Ari in question. She wasn't to sure what she had done, but it was her understanding being called to anyone with the title of authority was usually not going to end well. And generally she liked to think she was a good enough student, without behavioral problems, or...rather she hadn't been.
Without making a rush of things she made her way to the door and out of it, waiting on the other side for Ari, questions already hot in her throat to be asked.

It didn't matter all that much what reaction he got, as long as he got one. That had been his goal, after all, and he succeeded in that. So as the teacher laughed laughed he would simply offer his charming smile, and continue to keep his relaxed posture. It was really too bad more couldn't be said, as he did learn a good bit in the short time he was in the class, even if it had little to nothing to do with the teacher herself.
Upon being spoken to directly, after praising a student who looked like he had either been mauled or raped, that still would not change. Although he had a pleasant little quip he could add, he didn't need more attention then he had already gotten. Not because he had distracted the class properly, but because Aleece had something of her own to say beforehand.
If he knew more about Greek mythology he would've found it far more amusing then he did, but all the same the second reason he didn't send back a quip was due to the intercom hissing at them. An excuse to leave wasn't that bad, he hadn't much more then a passing interest in the class to begin with. But all the same...
His gray hues slipped upward, looking at the speakers as though they had an expression to be read. First day of school was indeed going to be interesting, although he could already hear Aleece complaining that they had gotten way too much attention one day. Shrugging he stepped out from behind his desk, casually strolling down through the isle of desks without looking for approval from anyone.
Once at the door he would again make a point to open it for Aleece, wait patiently for her to step out. Sadly he couldn't help but turning his head, glancing over his shoulder at the teacher. Again he would offer her the charming smile as he spoke in the same tone as before. "I would have expected a teacher to take constructive criticism with more grace. All the same, thank you for taking my advice, next time I will educate myself to save you precious time." His smile would widen slightly, and he would close the door behind him and head to the Deans office, curious what would be wanted of them.

Devon couldn't help but let a mischievous smile curl on his lips when Liana questioned his reasoning for going to Mythology if he he just intended to mock it. All the same she had laughed, so he intended to push it further. "Because I want to find out what her stance on bestiality is." He laughed, thinking back to one of the few things he knew he could be a smart ass about.
Although when she began to speak on the subject appropriately he couldn't pull his brown eyes from her. It was all to interesting when she spoke about it, although his reasoning wasn't exactly academic. He noticed how she had grown shy, crossing her ankles under her seat, protecting herself by tucking herself a little lower as she spoke.
When she became clearly embarrassed after her rambling he leaned to the side and whispered to her. "At least you haven't mentioned bestiality yet, save that for me." He spoke in a teasing tone, his brow raising and dropping repeatedly to make his expression all the more comical.
Of course while he was doing this other students had been speaking on their own knowledge, some better then others, but all the same he was just waiting for his opportunity. Sadly it had never come, as he had distracted himself long enough that the barrage of answers came before he had a moment to speak, and the only thing he could properly pay attention to was that they were being instructed to get books from the back of the class.
But he did have one little quip to add as he stood. "Does it have anything to do with Hollywood being more interested in the assassination of Nero Caesar?" Devon shot off the question before he turned and marched down the row of desks, not losing his amusement until he realized he would be walking past Kevala and two others.
With a sigh he would lose his sense of amusement, but he wouldn't outward show the fact he wasn't all that happy with where he had to walk to get the books. All the same he would go and pick up a book and work his way back, suspecting he wouldn't be her concern, just the teachers.

Post by Kazuya Hikari on May 16, 2010 19:37:56 GMT -5
Kazuya pretty much tuned out the rest of the voices after he had answered, not because he didn't need to hear the rest, but because he realized he had made a mistake in his answer, and considering that mostly everyone else after had followed suit excluding the guy sitting beside Kevala, who had pointed out the mistake Kazuya had made mere moments after he came to that realization, there wasn't much point in hearing their answers... well, except for maybe one person. The guy that was sitting beside the girl. Oh this is going to be be-you-ti-ful. Thankfully Kazuya's annoyance had subsided and was just about gone, his calm nature having taken over once more. Then the door opened, and a girl with blond hair walked in and handed a note to Ms. Vellequette before taking a seat not exactly close, but not exactly far away either from Kevala... and him and the other guy for that matter.
Class then moved on, with Ms. Vellequette commending the guy sitting next to Kevala, Jack, for pointing out the slip she had made in her question. Kazuya couldn't help but chuckle inwardly as she commented on the answer the guy sitting with the girl gave, though his face was as stoic as ever, betraying nothing at all. The intercom then blared to life, calling two students to the Dean's Office, 3 points to whoever can guess that left the class, *cough*The guy and the girl*cough*. Watching them leave from the corner of his eye, Kazuya's gaze flickered back to the front before following the instructions given. Getting out of his seat, Kazuya walked to the back of the room and grabbed a textbook, then sat back down in his own seat, and opened the textbook to Chapter 15, as he started to read.... well, more like whiz through the chapter, since he was a fast reader. Either way, he was keeping to himself for the most part.

Kevala felt a bit uneasy as Gabriel offered up that wink. Oh gods...What was he up to? Her brow raising slightly she just shook her head and then continued to listen to the rest of the kids speak...As the teacher then took to note of Jack's reply she grinned and cut him a little glance...Yep...She was more than happy with her choice...hehe
Then the guy that had smarted off.......Kevala just kept her mind on him, her eyes going back to the page on her desk....Not really focused on any one thing until she heard the instructions....Yeah yeah...Book time....
Sighing softly she pushed herself up to stand, moving the whole two or three steps to the back of the room to grab up a book, grabbing an extra for Jack, because she just felt like being nice...Moving back to her desk she set his on his desk.......
Once she had sat down, she flipped through the book, going over to chapter 15 and beginning to scan over it.....Finally she decided to speak up.....
"Is it possible that the difference was lost between the two due to the fact that people became so caught up with the actual events of Roman history and therefore the split occurred and the fanciful stories of Greek Mythology then captured the imaginations of people, leading them to think there is a distinct difference in the two? When in actuality there is not..."
It was not the best of answers but it was a very plausible one. At least she was willing to put forth the effort....She was just trying to get through this class.....Heh....Better than failing....

"I was under the impression the Parthenon is a temple in Greece, dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena. While Partheon was a dedication to all the gods, since it is literally translated as pan - all; theon - god..."
Jack smirked she was half right at least, pan in Greek meant every and theos meaning god, translation every god. Much like all ancient languages that get translated into English, they don't always makes a hundred percent sense.
"I was under the impression that Pantheon was Latin and derived from pan and Theos, pan as the lady before me stated, meant all or possibly every and Theos, god. So following that line of thought Pan-Theon in Greek would be Pan-Theos meaning every God. To my limited knowledge there is no building in Greece called the Pantheon."
"Would Aleece Fontecilla, and Ari Haswari report to the Deans office immediately."
Interesting
Jack smirked, neurons in his brain fired off and curiosity was spelled all over his face. He now knew their names and he would make a point of it, as to finding out what the student dean was up to.
"Okay, those were good replies, though Jack is right.....That is truly a falsehood in what I spoke. Now, everyone go to the back of the class and grab a text book, then as you read chapter 15 tell me why it is that the Roman sector is so commonly over looked in today's society."
Jack watched as the teacher gave the orders, studying everyone who stood up in the class. Kevala appeared to have picked up two books for them. As she placed the book in front of him Jack let off a small yet polite "thank you".
Jack flicked open the book, pulling out his N97 he wrote himself a note, he would pick up a copy of the book for himself. It would make note taking and highlighting a lot easier.

Guy smiled nervously when the stacked teacher gave him something of a sarcastic scolding to which he also returned with a rosing of the cheeks. obediently following the teachers command this time Guy followed the dictation that she'd given following her finger to the row of books where everyone organized to where he picked the most torn down of them all. It suited him, broken edges and wrinkled pages, similar to what his broken down life was yet holding a knowledge waiting to be read.
"psh...." Guy said in a low tone propping the book up so that his face was shielded from the teachers prying eyes.
Under which he scribbled down a few notes pulling from his "borrowed" book bag a few supplies. He extracted a camera, a very cheap one at that the windy kind that had only about 20 shots in it. A few were already taken so the thing was just about used up at this point.
*Cough*
Guy's hand would cover his mouth while the camera lens faced through a hole in the book's cover.
*snap*
The audible click heard in the silent classroom only poorly covered by the out of place cough. Guy's demeanor a bit too suspicious at this point acting good to compensate for the ill deed he just performed. He was never a good liar. Waiting a few moments he fished out a small ruler setting the thing atop the book's edge.
A quick scribble in his notebook.

Astrid, though she had pretty much as usual been ignored, was not really all that upset that nobody really noticed her. So, she got up when asked and grabbed her text book, flipping it open to chapter 15 as she noted the manner in which guy was acting.....
Her brow raising as she noted the way he positioned his bag, the way he hid behind his book, it was all just a little too fishy....
Then he coughed.....and yeah, it was soooo fake, anyone could tell that.....
A moment later the distinct click of a camera going off.....
She would have slammed her face over her hand if not for the fact that she already had grabbed up her bag and was giving off a sheepish grin.
"Sorry Ms. My camera must have gone off in my bag when I hit it just now with my foot."
Reaching into her bag, she produced the camera, a rather nice one, a gift from Spike for her last birthday......Pushing the button on top as she pointed it at the ceiling, the same clicking sound could be heard.......
Gods she hoped that worked...last thing guy needed was getting his ass in trouble over pix of the teacher...Which was no doubt what he was doing......
She soooo better get copies.
