Devon glanced over a few entries, finding that most of them were of places she visited. She was someone who seemed to like reminders of vistas and unique sights, but when he turned the page twice more he started to get an interesting impression. His entry seemed to be unique in the book. For some reason he felt something fulfilling in that fact.
His instincts began to send off several messages, there was something more behind her help then she was letting on. Devon had to assume so, after all. If she realy just wanted to help a strung out drug addict then all she had to do was sit him down next to the water fountain and call in an ambulance. Or even the cops. She had gone well beyond what was needed, let alone safe.
But that wasn't to say he wasn't grateful. He was. Even more so when he finally felt like he had gotten the whole story, telling him that she had a gut feeling that he was the same little boy she had seen. Still weird as all hell, but comforting. Although he didn't make the connection as to why it comforted him yet, he likely wound sometime down the line. He was testing her, rather brashly, and once he had tested her fully. Well, who knows.
Devon closed the book and walked to the bed where she sat, holding it out to her to take back. He didn't have to guess that it was important to her, otherwise he would've callously tossed it aside. Anyone who knew him the way he usual acted would've found it odd, but the fact she helped him meant more then she, or he, realized.
But then again he couldn't sit around and let the intimate exchange of secrets to go on much longer, it was already starting to feel awkward to him. So he fell back on his norms, which meant he was either going to mock or tease her. Ten bucks to the winning guess. "Just to remind you, I didn't deserve the milk thing. You got to see and feel more of me then the other way around." He reminded her with a teasing tone, his lips curving into a grin as his brow raised and dropped suggestively.

She didn't get an answer at all for her questions, although she hadn't demanded it so when nothing came but silence she merely watched him flip through a few pages of the book and kept herself from fidgeting. Or doing something - like getting up and taking it back despite letting him have in the first place. Liana eventually took to worrying the corner of her bottom lip, turning her head to the side to look at her relatively blank walls.
Having only moved in a few weeks ago there were a few boxes still out that she hadn't gotten around to unpacking. There were still pictures and other other things like shelves that would eventually be filled with nick knacks hat she had picked up from her travels all around or things her father had given her - that had still yet to go up.
Of course her camera was on her desk along with a few scattered pictures from a portfolio she was putting together, really there was no theme or organization to her space. Some sports memorabilia littered the place, dotted between the rather girl -y side of her style. The best way to describe everything was eclectic at best.
Rather soon her attention was drawn back to in front of her as Devon stepped up to her, the journal closed and extended to her. Dropping her leg and straightening her curved posture she took it, resting it to her lap - Liana thought he might actually get it...and there was a very good chance he did and it was why he handed back the thing. However, what ever nice sentiment he had meant by the gesture was nearly blown to pieces when he spoke. His teasing tone reminding her just how much she had seen of him the night before, causing her lips to tighten, staving off the blush that wanted to rise up to her cheeks.
Standing up smoothly by pushing her hand on the bed beside her she stepped toward Devon and raised an eyebrow but brushed past him to replace the journal herself from where she had gotten it. "That was an extenuating circumstance, and you know it," Liana argued lightly, ignoring the evocative look she caught. Turning and crossing her arms under her chest across her abdomen, she titled her head, trying to bite back her own amusement, "besides I didn't molest you while you were barely conscious."

Devon could tell that his teasing had it's desired effect, although he didn't know exactly how strongly or why as she was starving off much of her reaction. When she stepped up to him he almost wondered if he should be checking her hands for another half-gallon of milk.
Instead she brushed against his shoulder and he turned to see that she returned the journal to it's original spot. He raised his brow slightly as she argued, but he still had gotten across his evocative look, so he was wondering just how well she was hiding her reaction.
But she made the mistake of continuing, which of course just gave him another opportunity to tease her. With a slight grin he shifted his hands into his pockets, his thumbs hooked into belt loops, while he gave a slight glance at her chest. She had unintentionally pulled her shirt tighter across her bust by folding her arms across her abdomen, and as he glanced down purposefully he teased her.
"That's because I'm not nearly as tempting as you are."
Devon pulled one of his hands out of his pocket, having found his wallet in search for her after he had gotten dressed, and fished out a twenty dollar bill. He didn't know how much the cab fair was, but he knew that it would be at least that much as she had said they were only a few miles from the park. He didn't remember the ride, but he did remember the smell of the cab, it was pretty unique.
"For the cab," He said as he placed it her bed, which he still stood near. Devon then glanced back up at her, looking a bit awkward as he was doing something he couldn't remember doing in years. "Thanks," Devon muttered, turning toward the door and taking a few strides away.
If not stopped he would use that opportunity to simply leave the house, glancing back only to take note of the house number where he had spent the night. Folded between the green leaves of the twenty dollar bill she would find a business card, which held his name, cell number, and address.

Catching the purposeful glance down at her chest, Liana caught the leer and shifted, bringing her arms up higher, frowning a little. Of course his quip back only added to how much it affected her. Something she had nothing to say to, so it seemed like he had the last word, in that respect. She supposed she had left herself open for it all so even though she might have been trying to scramble for a comeback she wasn’t quite quick enough on it.
And he was pulling money from his wallet and placing it on her dresser, but before she could protest about it when she heard the simple reason for it being placed there in the first place, he was giving her awkward thanks. She wanted to tell him not to worry about it, that he didn’t owe her a thing, but he was leaving – and Liana didn’t have the right to stop him. She also didn’t have any grounds to convince him to stick around either. Instead her lips quirked up into a brief grin, “no problem.”
So to save them both from another round of asking why she was doing something she let Devon go, trailing behind nonetheless, getting that he was going. Standing at her door open she leaned against the frame, her arms folded once more, wondering if she should at least offered to call a cab? But he was already gone, resolutely looking he didn’t need anymore of her help.
With a sigh Liana looked to the side a frown instantly touching her face when she noticed a floppy straw hat with plastic flowers decorating the thick ribbon above the brim. Her neighbor, the nosy old woman – who’s name escaped her, but knew had to many cats. The rather eccentric woman was doing a poor job to spy around her hydrangeas and caused Lia to roll her eyes.
Straightening, she lifted a hand, “morning!”
Her tone was cheery and watching as the woman huffed and shook her head in obvious disapproval, but it caused her to turn around in a hurry then go back to her business. Giving a shake of her head, Liana laughed to herself and closed the door, doing the few chores she needed to before her parents got home. The events of last night and this morning led Liana to realize one thing, she just wouldn’t be able to leave Devon alone – as an interesting, and engagingly frustrating individual he was with his teasing. Whether or not he found her an annoyance, Lia would probably now go out of her way to at least speak to him if she saw him again.
