And Cain listened intently. Whatever this guy was seeing, he would obviously know his stuff. I mean, why wouldn't he, having survived #552 and becoming a pillar himself in another school, one that Cain presumed to be just as violent as #552 or the notorious #259 of Long Beach. No, Cain had never been to Long Beach, but he had met a few people from there, specifically Kevala Katashi and Spike Sudeki. But yeah, he did have a point there. He was the newest target of attention in school. To everyone else, he just promoted himself from fresh meat to fresh golden meat.
And Damien continued, pointing out to Cain something he actually knew but never really thought about. Yeah, he had one big target on his head, and it was literally calling for everyone to shoot at it. Hopefully, they'd do it with the traditional way, at least, to American high-schoolers, and not with guns. Cain suddenly had a brief image of himself being shot in the head by some distant sniper. He lifted up the mango smoothie once more, knowing that the realising of it all was a tad bit stressing him up. He grinned as he wedged the straw in between his teeth, sipping up the sweet and smooth liquid.
And after a few sips, he removed it, though he kept it in his right hand. He was just half-finished now. Yes, that was a large cup of smoothie.
"Yeah, thanks for the advice. I'm really needing that at the moment. In schools like this, it's kinda hard to find people you can really trust, eh?"
Cain looked at Damien, a soft smirk on his face then.
