Chapter 1- We are all in this together.

“Well Trent, This looks like I win again.” Ryan said, bent over laughing.

“Yeah.. Again.” We both started to laugh. I havn’t won a single fight against him, ever..

I slowly got up and shook my head.

“You know, I thought you would have broken something.”

We started to laugh again.

Ryan was a good person, sort of.. kinda, yet really.. I guess smart, if he had a plan, he ALWAYS saw it through.

It was after school and We were going to go meet up with a few friends, but instead I got my Karate outfit and Ryan and I went to the park to train abit.

Needless to say that the group was watching..

Jiro, Kyle, Kait, Sarah.. they were all there waiting.

Ryan and I waved and laughed. We laughed and fell backwards on the ground.

“Hey Ryan?”

Ryan stopped and looked at me. “Hmm?”

“… Got any water?”

We both started to burst out laughing, nothing was funnier than us fighting, then asking stupid questions, it was great, nothing could make this day any better than it was..

I looked up at the sky, watched the clouds go by and closed my eyes.

I heard Ryan get up and go to the others. I stayed, never mind that I had no strength left at all.

I went all out before Ryan did, that was when he got me I guess.

The wind felt so good going over my body, I wanted to just fall asleep, but I got up and made an O with my hands, sitting on my feet with my hands infront of my stomach, I felt so good.. I was relaxed thinking about what happened.

I usually got into a fight with Ryan and a few other people a lot.

I got up and took off my jacket and let it hit the ground and I stretched.

I looked at the small group that I had.. I knew them for a long time.. Ryan and Kyle have been my friends for.. only god knows how long. They have been like brothers to me.

I walked over to them I looked at Kait, Jiro, Sarah and Kyle.

“What are you guys do-”

They stopped me and Kyle said.

“We were waiting for you two idiots for a while! You guys were late for our group lunch date.”

I looked over at Ryan and laughed, he laughed also.

“Look, you should have known that I was going to be training.”

Everyone did a face palm but Ryan and I.

“Well, im going, I gotta get going.”

I walked away from them, I had to go home and they followed. Great..

This was just great…

I shook my head and turned around and walked back wards, Ryan picked up the jacket and took it with him while he was following.

I needed a shower..

And something to eat..

I got home, it was a normal house and I walked in. It was quiet..

I looked around for my parents and saw them in my room packing up my stuff.

“What’s going on mom?” I asked my mom, my dad would have hit me with some sort of insult or something.

“Well, with you changing schools.. You’re dad and I, even Ryan’s parents, Sarah’s parents and even Kait’s guardian.. Mom.. Well Jiro said that it was ok, so...”

I stopped them right there.

“What the hell!?” I was moving?..

“I’m moving?”

I was shocked.. shock and awe spread over me, keeping me from doing anything.

“Yes.. You, Ryan, Sarah and Kait are moving in together.”

I sighed and walked out of the house and saw Kait, sarah and Ryan in a car..

I watched Ryan smile and I shrugged.

“This might not be so bad..” I said and sighed. I wanted to stay home.. I went back up into my room and packed up my stuff and put it in the back of the car.

We were all going to a new school.. What about Kyle and Jiro? What were they going to do?

Ryan was driving.. so this might not end well.. at all..

What did today have in store?

What did this new house have in store for me? And my friends.

I fell asleep in the car, it was a long drive from what I heard.

When I woke up we were parked in a drive way, It was a 2 story house. We walked in and looked around.

This place was cool.

Living room, kitchen, dinning room and a “work room” on the main floor.

3 bed rooms, 2 bath rooms and a hallway closet on the second floor.

And the basement had a lot of room.

We looked at each other and I walked into the basement while everyone went up stairs to pick a room.

I went to the car to pick my things up.

Not a lot..

A few sets of clothes, my karate outfit, a tv, xbox 360 with a few games and a laptop, everyone else brought a lot of things, Computers, all game systems and everything that they owned to the teeth..

I sat downstairs on a small sofa, it could hold 3 people but I sighed and looked around, the place was barren and I heard everyone running around, trying to get set up and I looked at the ceiling.. I guess I could put up a few posters.

I put a black belt into a box. It was given to me from my Sensei and I sighed..

He told me never to use it unless it is needed.. Ryan was strong. Jiro and Kait could fight.. yet kinda useless.

I laughed abit and laid down on the sofa.

“well, I see that you didn’t bring much.” I heard Ryan laugh.

I sat up and looked at him.

“Yeah.. I guess so..” I looked at the barren room and sighed.

He sat beside me and punched my shoulder lightly.

“You’re a great guy man, Kait and Sarah were happy with us getting together. Having our own house away from our own parents.”

I smiled abit and looked at him.

“Well, I guess that we should go make sure that they haven’t killed themselves.” I smiled abit and got up..

Going upstairs might not be good.

Oh well, I went up stairs and saw that Kait and Sarah had settled down well, they were both on the other side of Ryan’s room and I hit him on the shoulder.

“You better not wake me up at night with any of your… ‘activities’” We started to laugh.

I opened up the door to Sarah’s room and walked in and looked around.

“Yes Trent?” She looked at me with a brilliant smile on her face.

“I’m just making sure that you are alright with you know, moving in and such.” I scratched the back of my head abit, laughing and she didn’t look to impressed with me.

“I should hit you.” She laughed and I stopped and we looked at eachother.

“Lets wait till we get all this together.” I walked out of the room and she shook her head and finished unpacking and I opened the door the Kait’s room and looked in. She was just finished setting up, everyone had a bed and I don’t think I wanted to look in Ryan’s room.

I walked out of Kait’s room and went into Ryan’s room, it had a few pictures of he and I fighting and Kyle, Jiro and the others as a group.

“I guess you enjoyed beating everyone eh?”

He looked at me and smiled.

“Only the ones who like to train a lot.”

We laughed and I went down stairs and set up our living room while they were finishing up stairs. I had set up a flat screen that had been with Ryan for a while, DvD player and a few other things.

We had two sofas, both could fit 4 people and a chair, a small coffee table.

The kitchen and dinning room had already been set up.

I don’t know who did it, but it was good for me.

I sighed and went back down stairs and looked at the sort of empty room..

“I guess I could set up a new lighting system down here…”

I scratched my chin and thought about..

Well.. I have a lighting board at my old house that is mine.. Some extra lights…

I’m sure I could, it would work.

I put a few pictures into a few picture frames and put them up in the living room over the Fire place.

I kinda missed having Jiro and Kyle around.

I laid down on the sofa in the basement.. This was my home now.. We are all in this together.. To..gether.

I wanted to go to sleep, but this place was Alien to me, it was weird.. Why was I here? How long did the others know?.. Why was I not told?

I guess I should ask later..

But now is the time for rest of all things.

Chapter 2

First day!? What!?

It had already been a week.. A week with the people and I feel at home.. In the basement I had a small fridge filled with nothing but soft drinks.

I spent a lot of time in the basement, lights, sound…

Everything, I made this place my project, this place would become nothing but my own hell hole. I had a few improvements, so I set it all up.

Ryan and I had been going to theatre’s lately since we could help techs and actors on what to do.

Ryan was a great actor, he knew where his ‘butter’ came from, other than the girls that he always left with… Oh Dear..

I was at the house alone, I was tired, every one was working today but me, I got up and turned off all the lights as I left the room.

I had saved up some money to get us all into schooling. High school..

This school had it’s own theatre. It was amazing. I signed up to work there as a part time student and tech for that school.

I don’t know if I got through and if the others got through as students, if they did that would be good.

I was wearing shorts and a white t-shirt. I yawned abit and looked in the fridge and took out milk and poured it into a glass, I was sore all over.

Being a tech was a lot, I did a lot, even though I shouldn’t. I did. I was getting paid good for the work that I did.

I sighed and took the drink of milk and I looked on the bottom of the fridge as I looked down on the bottom shelf..

Beers… Beers…

Wines?

“Great.. Home alone.. Again..” I closed the door after putting the milk away and cleaning the dishes I walked back down stairs and waited for people to come back home.

I laid back down and looked at my cell… it was 6 pm… Everyone should be home soon I guess.. I shook my head. I closed my eyes and looked at my tv.. I was watching a few movies.

I wanted to sleep but I shouldn’t.

I just wish that some people would shut up..

I opened my laptop and looked at my emails, nothing..

Did I get the job? Or the schooling?

I walked upstairs and looked up in the rooms, empty but the bends were made.. I guess that they were a lot more organized than me..

I didn’t have any blankets, Sarah had a red blanket, red pillows on a queen sized bed..

Kait had a double bed that had blue sheets and blue pillows.

I went into Ryan’s room and looks inside, I looked at his bedding, it was weird, it was red and black and black pillows.

I walked out and closed all the doors and stretched, I was still sore.

I spent some time laying down, giving myself some time to get better.

I closed my eyes and laid on a sofa in the living room till I heard a knocking on the door, then the 3 came in all hyper and happy.

“Huh?” What was going on? I was thinking..

“we all got into the school!” They were all happy and Ryan went into the fridge and picked up 2 beers and went to hand me one, I waved it off and closed my eyes.

“Our first day of school is tomorrow, and our first day of work.”

I was abit confused.

“What, you got a job at the school?” I asked him.

“Yeah, im helping with the Musicals for the next while giving pro advice.” He said with a smile.

“Well then. I guess your going to be kicking people in the ass.” I said with a small smile.

We both laughed and I sat up and shook my head.

This was a small group, a nice group, filled with life and happiness.. and some times pains.

I was glad they were around, I just smiled and made my way down to the basement, I laid on the sofa and closed my eyes.

School tomorrow.. I guess we should all rest.

I fell fast asleep, I guess everyone else did and I woke up at about 6, I got up and shook my head, Everyone was up stairs running around trying to get ready.. Ryan was probably still asleep, I stood up and got changed into a black shirt and pants and a nice dress shirt. Just incase.

I walked upstairs and watched Sarah and Kait get ready for school as Ryan was just walking down stairs with a small note book.

I’m guessing it’s for anything towards acting I guess..

Since he is looking after the acting portion of the musical that is coming up and I am looking after the tech.

We all walked to the car, the school was just a walk away.

I stood on the sidewalk and looked at the others.

“Trent!?” Sarah looked at me and asked. “Where are you going?”

I waved at them. “I’d rather walk, the school isn’t that far away.. is it?”

I said with a smile they all shook there head and drove off to the school, when the passed by me I smiled and started to run to the school. It was about 10 blocks away, but the blocks were LONG.. So I kept running trying to pace myself and when I got to the school. It was.. Large.. It looked like to be about 10 floors and had a theatre built into it, I looked at the car that the other’s used and they were inside already. I saw Sarah go and hang out with a few people from the school. Kait was with the younger students and Ryan…

Ryan was probably at the office, guess I should go there also..

I made my way through the students to get to the door into the school. This place was not that hard to get through, I got to the office and I walked in and I saw the principal and he walked over to me..

“Hey boy!” He put his hand on my shoulder. “You that new tech?”

“Yeah..” I said with a smile on my face, trying to keep my cool. This guy was.. Kinda intimidating, he had scars, bruises…

“Be careful of some students in this school, They kinda get.. Abit Violent..” He laughed and hit my back hard, I looked back at him and tried to understand.

“Ok?” I was confused and sighed. The principal told me that I could leave class when ever as long as I am working.

I shrugged and went to go look at the stage, When I got to it, it was..

It was.. Breathtaking, This place was amazing, it seemed like such an honour to be here, this place was going to become my tomb, I loved it here..

Lights were hung perfectly, the sound system..

I looked around and saw Ryan standing on the stage. With a few students, they were going over lines and I laughed.

I shrugged and walked to the lighting booth to see what I had to work with..

I almost shat myself, I was just in a professional theatre.. that had 1 and only 1 tech!

What the bloody hell!?

I heard the bell ring and instead of going to class.. I sat my ass around the stage all day, looking at everything that I had to work with and just to see it all, this place was heaven.

I watched Sarah and Kait come in and go talk to Ryan. I sat up in the booth watching.. Just to see what would happen.

All 3 were acting, they were trying to do a Shakespearean play I guess.. It was kinda funny to see with 3 people, I walked out of the lighting booth and stretched, I watched a few kids try to pick a fight with Ryan, but that is the problem.. there were 10 kids.. Well.. First day and he managed to get into trouble.

I ran towards Ryan and grabbed one kid and threw him into the wall, during the confusion Ryan punched another kid into the wall.

I was in the middle back to back with Ryan.

“Can’t stay out of trouble can ya?” I said with a sly smile on my face.

“Well, better than you can.” He responded and then I grabbed a student who challenged us and threw him into another one and they fell over and I watched Ryan started to punched the ones on his side and I started to trip them.

We watched them run and heard Kait and Sarah fight and they had just finished.

“Well… That was.. Interesting.” Kait and Sarah laughed.

My cell rang, it was Kyle, I held my cell to my ear and heard him talking.

“Hey Trent, watch out for snakes!” Kyle said..

“Wait.. what?”

“Oh sorry.. wrong reference..” He laughed and started to talk again. “The students of the school you are in are based on fighting, the stronger the student, the better fight they are. Jiro and I will be attending it soon.”

He hung up and I laughed.

“Well Ryan, I guess we may have to try and fight instead of not.” I kept going. “This school is I guess a fight school, all students do is fight and fight.”

He laughed. “well, we will fit right in now, wont we my friend.”

We both laughed and put our hands up in a boxing position.

“Well, this is a better place than any..”

We ran at eachother, our fists colliding at the same time and I could feel the strength of his power of his punch against mine, his was stronger forward, but mine was soft to hard. So we evened out.

The punch created a small field around us that was created from the punches.

We backed off and I shook my hand, smiling we ran at each other again and he went for a sliding kick under and I went for a double drop kick, I landed on the ground and got up as he was coming at he with his fists, I grabbed them both as he was coming in and held him back.

We both backed off from each other and he came in with a left, and me a right slug and we both hit each other. We both flew back abit and landed on the ground, we couldn’t help but laugh and get up.

Sarah stood between us and looked at us.

“You guys are morons.” She said and laughed going to her classes and Kait followed.

Ryan shrugged, got up and left for his own classes.

That left me.. alone.. at the auditorium..

I yawned and looked around. No work needs to be done here.. I was walking out when I saw a small notice about a double fighting tourney at the school.

2 people can enter and have to fight wave after wave of enhanced students….

This might prove interesting.

I also saw that there could be a single arena round.. That mind be interesting.

I picked up the notice and walked to my classes for the day..

Today.. Will be a good day.. I guess..

Chapter 3

To much work, not enough stuff.


I woke up outside in the back.. The green grass was perfect.. It was about a month into school not.. It was perfect. I opened my eyes and looked up into the cloudless sky.. It was great.

I sat up and looked around, my jacket and shirt were going to dry off.

I rubbed my head and got up and jumped on the spot, I started to try and get my blood going again and looked around.. The house was empty.. Great..

When I walked in I saw no notes or anything, just empty ness.. What was going on here?

I sighed and sat in the basement.. This is going to be lovely.

Before I noticed I got up and looked around, something was wrong.. I ran back upstairs and opened the door and tilted my head. “huh..”

The car was gone.. Well. I guess that is good.

I shook my head and closed the door behind me.

I looked up and down the street.. no one was around, a thick fog came into play and I could hardly see. I walked down the street and heard my name being called from down the foggy street.. I ran down the street towards the name, trying to find out who it was..

I kept running and saw Sarah and Kait, As I got closer the ran, what was going on here?

“Hey! Wait up!” I kept running and stopped. They had disappeared, I looked to my left and walked down a small path that seemed to lead no where.

I hit a wall and turned around after hearing a scream and I looked at 2 girls who were crying.

“Save us..” they said.. The voices were unrecognizable. I felt something grab my leg, it was a pitch black hand grabbed my ankle, I looked down and tried to pull away and my other foot and arms were held down and I watched as the two came at me with red eyes going back and forth opening a mouth, that opened more than anything, it was… Inhuman!

This place was a hell, this place.. would it be my future?

I felt something bite my neck..

I screamed and woke up on my sofa, panting at the thought of what happened.. What was going on?

That dream.. What was going on?

I held my head and stood up hearing people run down asking what was wrong, I was in tears, I didn’t know what to do.. I wanted to tell them and I wanted to wave them off to leave me alone.

They all looked at me.

“Hey Trent? You alright?” Sarah walked over and put her hand on my back.

I didn’t move, I was immobilized with fear.. nothing I could do would ever tell me what I could do..

“I’m fine.” I turned around with a pale face, I didn’t know what to do.

I walked through them and sighed. I wanted to talk to them, but I didn’t know what happened either.

I needed to know.

My head was pounding and I sat in the dinning room with a glass of water, looking at the table hearing “save us..” Over and over.. Who were they? What was going on?

Some one sat beside me, it was Sarah and she put a hand on my shoulder, I looked at her and sighed.

“Can I help you?” I said with a soft tone, maybe to get her to think that im ok.

“What’s wrong?” She asked, curious about me.

“Just a dream..” I sighed.

“Wanna talk about it?” she asked.

I started to talk about, telling her what I saw and what I thought about it, she sat there, listening.

Sarah wasn’t stupid, she was smart, she was smarter than me and Ryan, she knew things that I didn’t.

I sighed and looked down at the empty cup.

“That is what’s wrong.” I kept looking at the cup.

“Well, just try and keep it off your mind, Maybe you are seeing something that is going on? Do you feel lost at all?” She asked.

“No, im not lost, I know what needs to be done.” I got up. “thanks for your help, I just need some time to think.”

I walked outside and sat on the grass, feeling the wind in my hair.

This is.. amazing, the feeling.. I was… I..

I opened my eye’s and looked around.

The dream, felt almost like this.. Déjà vu?

I shrugged and got up and headed to work. While walking down the streets I heard people yelling and fighting, in ally ways there were people who had been building and trying to take money.

It was disgusting, The sights I have seen.. Everything was just stupid.

I turned and saw a group of people running at me..

This.. was not going to end well..

Instead of running I stood, the kids around here were blood thirsty, all they wanted was blood. It was disgusting.

They ran at me, a few throwing punches and kicks at me, all I did was take one a throw him into another and jump into the air to dodge kicks and other punches, When I landed, I was surrounded..

I smiled and laughed.

“Well, Lets dance.” I waved a few of them on and smiled.

This was going to be one hell of a time.

I smiled again, licking my lips as I saw a few come towards me, one tripped and I grabbed his arm and threw him into ones that had jumped into the air and jumped into the air myself.

I grabbed two by the head and started to crush them, then threw them at the ground at an alarming speed and they landed on others and when I landed I landed on another two, knocking them to the ground and got up, with nothing but a smile on my face.

“Next?”

I laughed and watched the last of them run, it was bad ass.

I walked back down the street, abit tired and kept walking.

That was just.. Yeah. Something came over me, I just had taken out 6, maybe 7 students out of only god knows how many..

I made my way to the school slowly now, the fatigue was setting in.. I just.. I needed to rest. What had happened to me?..

I’m enjoying this fighting?

When I made it to the school everyone was minding there own business, just talking to a certain group of people, same group they had always been with and I couldn’t help but laugh.

I walked over to Sarah’s parked car and as she got out and was beside her.

“How long have you been here?”

I said with a smile on my face, laughing as she hit my shoulder.

“Well, I just got here, Kait is sick and Ryan should be here soon.. ish.. I hope.” She said as I smiled abit.

“So, other than school. What brings you here?”

I asked a stupid question.

“Well.. Kyle and Jiro will be here soon, They just moved into their own house and Kait is moving in with them.”

I sighed and laughed.

“Then I guess we may have a guest room.

I was trying to be a joker. She laughed abit and gave me a hug.

I wrapped my arms around her and smiled abit.

“Well, head out to class, I got a lot of work to do..”

I watched her walk away and shrugged, walking into the auditorium, I had the master Key to it. I walked in and sat in my chair..

It was my thrown, It was absolute power in this place. And It was mine.

I stretched and got some work done.. Not a lot, just moving things around on my own.

Untill I turned around and saw some of the staff people, they didn’t look to impressed at all..

I walked over to find out what was going on.. Not a good idea.

A few of the staff rushed at me and knocked me over on my ass, sliding on the stage.

“damnit!”

I looked at them.

“Do you think some 17 year old can just waltz in here and do a mans job?” the teachers were being stern..

I gulped and got back up and watched as the same teachers but one rushed at me again, They all came in with punches and I ducked under them and one kneed me in the face and I fell into the Orchestra pit, I watched one jump down and I grabbed his foot and threw him into the ground.

I pulled my foot up and stepped on his chest, a helpless man till a sharp pain hit my back and I was moving forward, trying to keep myself up and I did, I turned around and saw the one who elbowed my back and grabbed his head and slammed it into the wall over and over.

I heard screaming telling me to stop, but I was in a blood thirsty rage..

I then watched 2 people run and I rushed back at them and jumped and grabbed a Fly pole and held it.

I fell and landed on them, hearing them suffer and squeal. I smiled and licked my lips.

I watched the leader walk over and smile.

“Well, then, I guess it is me and you.” I watched him walk closer and I rushed him and next thing I knew, I was in the wall.

What the hell?

I shook my head and ran back at him. He took out a knife and left a cut on my eye and I landed on the ground. With a hand over my bleeding eye.

I screamed in pain.. I.. I was beaten.. But I wont stop fighting ever.

I got up and looked at him with my only good eye and watched him run, I ducted under a punch and took a knife in my back and dropped to the floor and I walked to run. I wanted… to…

I tried to get up and watched the one teacher and the others run away.

My vision blurred as the blood soaked my face..

I.. Wanted.. To..

All I heard before I lost consciousness was Ryan and Sarah screaming my name I dropped to the floor and could only see black and I heard Ryan say..

“Don’t worry, we are going to get you help. Just hold on man! Hold on!”

“Whats wrong with him?” Sarah said "He isn't moving."

“I don’t know.. We need to-“

Chapter 4

CHANGE OF HERO!

Change to: Ryan.

I sat in a chair in the living room and took a drink while the fire was one, just watching the fire and sighed.

Trent was not around for a while.. It was weird, Silence filed the air, not jokes.

He always made jokes about the fact that I had 2 girls that I could go over to and use the “Bad Dream” excuse.

I laughed and stood up as I heard the door open, with the glass of beer in my hand, watching Kyle, Kait and Jiro walk in.

I walked downstairs to go see Sarah and watched her.

“So, What are you doing down here?” I asked her and watched her turn to me.

“I was just cleaning, so that way he has a clean room to come home to.”

She was smiling, I walked back upstairs and attended to our ‘guests’.

We were watching a few movies and I sighed and looked at a picture of Kyle, Trent and I.

He was in the hospital, he was broken, no way was he going to come back from that.

I looked out the window, got up and went up to my room and took out my cell and dialled Trent’s cell.

Ring… Ring….

I heard a voice.. It was Trent.

“Hello?” I heard after some coughing and heavy breathing.

“Hey Trent, It’s Ryan.” I responded.

“Hey.. How is everyone?”

“Well.. Only 2 of us know about your hospitalization.”

“Oh… I-“ He stopped and started to cough. “Shit!”

“Hey, don’t strain yourself man, Sarah and I can head over now.”

I was worried about his well being, Sarah should also know that he needed help.. A lot of help.

“No point.” He was having trouble talking and breathing. “Just.. Make sure everyone is ok.”

He wanted everyone safe.. I guess that is why he didn’t want anyone to visit him..

“Alright Trent, if you say so.” I had a tear run down my cheek.

I usually never cried, it was funny.

I sighed and looked out the window and calmed myself and walked down stairs, everyone was having fun.. Fun…

I laughed and walked into the kitchen took out a beer and opened it.

I took a small drink and heard the door open and looked at the door, it was just Kyle coming back in laughing and talking about his day again.

Did anyone care that Trent was gone?

I yawned abit and took another drink, feeling the liquid go down my throat.

I stopped and looked around.

I sighed and walked into the living.

“Sarah? Can I talk to you” She was in the living room.

She looked at me, nodded, told Jiro and Kait to wait for her and she walked into the basement and I followed and sat on the sofa there.

“Look, we need to do something, Trent is not well.” I said and looked up. “Trent is a good kid, he is the biggest help in this house.”

She sighed and looked at me.

“I know, but we should let him be for a while.” She said and looked at me. “He will be fine.” She hugged me and started to cry abit. “I miss him too.”

I put a hand on her back and rubbed her back.

I wanted to say something.. I was afraid.

I remember one fight I had with Trent.

--Flash back—

Trent was on the ground in pain, holding his side and coughing. I had wrapped my hands in tape and just looked at him.

“What are you going to do?” He looked at me, covered in blood and dirt, from being kicked around a lot.

By me..

“What are you going to do Ryan?” He looked at me, slowly getting up, trying to keep himself steady. “What are you going to do!? Knock me out? Yell at me telling me that I was wrong?”

I turned around and walked away. I didn’t want to hurt him anymore.

“Coward..” I heard and kept walking.. To this day.. I still have regrets about it. Trent was a good kid, he was going to become something..

--Real time—

I shook my head and felt that Sarah was asleep on me. I got up and put a blanket over her and let her stay there and I walked back upstairs. I watched Kyle, Jiro and Kait all playing on Trent’s Xbox 360. I laughed and shook my head.

I walked upstairs and started to try and clean my room.

There were a lot of… Clothes on the floor, some not even mine.

I shrugged and just put them into the closet and cracked my neck. I held my neck and walked out of my room and looked at my hands and walked back down stairs, this was a nice house..

I looked at a Picture of Trent and I fighting on rocks.

That.. was a good day..

I wanted to do that again.

Trent was brave, he was hero material. The hero everyone thought I was because I was stronger and smarter than most people.

I was given such talents.. Trent worked hard for his fighting and thinking. He worked at it until he couldn’t even move.

I sat in the living room thinking.

Watching Kyle, Jiro and Kait all play Halo 3.

Old game.. Very old.. At this time Trent was playing Final Fantasy 13, or even Mass Effect 2.

I wanted to keep myself sain. I looked at them and they were just about to leave and Kyle had to open his mouth.

“Hey.. Where is Trent?” He asked and everyone was now curious.

“He is… Out for a while.” It wasn’t a lie.. It was the truth.

“Oh.. ok.” He walked out and they all followed and I closed the door behind him and sighed, I took off the dress shirt that I was wearing and sighed. I walked to my room, put the shirt on the floor and laid on my bed just thinking.. Do I need some company tonight?

Maybe.. Maybe not.

Not until I got a call from the hospital.. I picked up the home phone and started to talk.

“Hello?” I said.

“Hello, this is Saint Joseph’s Hospital. Trent is in a critical condition.”

I was in shock and looked down stairs at Sarah who was still asleep..

“What’s wrong?” I said all I heard was

“whats wrong Doctor? Wh-“

Then a hang up.. I didn’t know what to do, but pick up my keys and drive over…

Chapter 5

Hero-Ryan

“Everyone needs to spend time to themselves.. or with others.”

I spent some time to myself while driving, leaving Sarah at home in an empty house.

I wanted to tell her, but she shouldn’t worry about him. When I got to the hospital I watched people ran out of the place.

I got out of the car, slammed the door and walked inside the hospital slowly. Taking my time as this place was going into a black out kinda and I ran up the stairs as fast as I could and got up to the top floor where Trent was and I walked to his room and saw that he was on the ground with people around him, sleeping.. he was..

He was alive, he was breathing. I picked him up and looked around.

“Im going to get you out of here man.. Don’t worry.” I looked at him, his eyes were closed and he was shaking. “Trent, hold on.”

I ran out and broke the door to the Elevator in and made a small hole, the elevator was a few floors down and I jumped down and landed on the an elevator and started to jump down and landed eventually on the main floor and kicked the door and ran out through the front door and put him into the car.

I turned around and saw that people in black garb were running at us and I looked at Trent.

“What trouble did you get into this time!”

I laughed abit and started to go into my fighting stance as they were all coming at me to get to Trent.

“well.. this might be fun.”

As they jumped at me I jumped back and knocked them all into the wall with a round house kick while they were in the air. I grabbed one by the face and threw him into the first one to hit the wall and I landed and smiled.

I walked into the car and drove off to get home and I picked up Trent and put him back into his room and saw Sarah freak out and I put him in my bed.

“Whats wrong?” She asked.

“The hospital was attacked trying to find someone that is my guess.” I tried to think.

I heard Trent start to talk.

“The.. Doctor.. He knows.. How to… Create… A small weapon that can maybe rule..” Trent said.

“Damnit..” I said and sighed.

No way.. Trent needed to rest.

“Sleep Trent.. you need to rest.” He was asleep at this time.

I got up and walked away. I walked downstairs and let Sarah try to talk to him.

I walked down to the living room and sighed.

I sighed and watched Sarah walk over to me and hug me and hold me tight and start to cry.

“Ryan, why Trent?” She looked at me. “Why is he injured so much?”

I had one answer.. “Trent I guess has some bad luck.”

It was different. Trent was going to be fine. I was sure of it.

I rubbed her back and we both fell asleep on the big sofa.

I had a dream…

--Dream—

“Hey Ryan!” I was being nudged. “Ryan! Wake up!”

I opened my eyes and it was Trent, the younger Trent.. Full of life and was always happy.

“You promised me you would take me with you today!” He had a bright smile on his face. Trent was a kid that was always hyper and was always good.

He listened to what was said.

“Well, lets go.” I said, I grabbed my jacket. I was a few years older than him. He was about… 7, I was 9.

I walked him to where Kyle, Sarah, Jiro and I got together, Trent and I have been friends for a while, he was a good kid. So.. Might as well. When we got there he ran in and ran up to everyone and started to introduce himself to everyone going to them saying.. “Hiya! My name is Trent, who are you?” He was so young.. So full of life, he was an amazing kid. I laughed and smiled.

I sat on a small rock on the said and smiled as I watched Trent run around.

I was just baby sitting him.

Real life—

I woke up with the sun on face.. It was hard to even sleep, I wasn’t even use to it.

I sighed and looked at Sarah, she looked so peaceful when she was asleep.. I gave her a small kiss on the forehead and I laid her down. I sighed and walked up to my room…

Wait.. something was missing here.. Trent was gone.

“Where the hell did he go!?”

I ran downstairs and looked for him.

Basement.. nothing..

But then I looked outside and saw that Trent was in the book sitting on the ground meditating, not the OOOOUUM stuff, he was silent, sitting down and listening. I watched.. He must have been up for a while, I watched Sarah sleep. Wow.. She could sleep.

That is kind of funny.

I laughed and poured a glass of Dr pepper for Trent and walked outside and walked over to him.

“Hey. How is it going bro?” I watched his eyes open.

“Alright..” I watched him look at me, he was still in pain, not a lot. But pain all the same.

I handed him the glass and he took it, and stated to drink it.

“Thanks..”

He put the glass in front of him and went back to meditating.

I shrugged and got up and looked up and down. I walked into the house, Sarah just woke up and I rubbed her forehead.

“go see Trent, I’m sure he would love to have some company.”

She looked at me like I was crazy and pointed outside and she got up and walked outside. I watched her walk outside, look at Trent and run outside and I stood at the door watching them have a moment together.

She was hugging him from behind and I was watching and smiling.

“Hey! Watch out, that hurts..”

I laughed, Trent even though was going to take his time recovering, but he wouldn’t want to keep anyone down at all.

Trent was going to be just fine.

That was all we needed…

Chapter 6

Hero Return-Trent

“Never weigh people down, or you will fall as well.”

I opened my eyes in my room, it was about two weeks when I got home.

I sat up and had the bandages around my chest and I wanted to take them off but I havn’t fully healed yet. Maybe another week.

I walked up stairs and looked at Ryan and Sarah on the sofa cuddling and watching a movie and I sighed.

I walked into the kitchen and grabbed the milk bottle and took a cup. I filled the cup and took a drink. I walked into the dinning room and sat at my chair, it felt weird..

I was now a 3rd wheel in this house. At night it was kind of hard to sleep huh..

Funny.

I guess that Ryan’s bed creaked a lot.. They were out of control on some nights.. It was very weird walking up stairs, they were.. well… Yeah.. Im sure that listening to the moaning and groaning a few times when I walk upstairs is just..

I can hardly take it.

I walked outside and sat on the steps coming into the large house that we had. I looked up into the sky. I opened my hand and closed my hand.

I got up, walked back inside and saw Ryan and Sarah making out..

“Get a fucking room!” I yelled at them, laughing abit, Ryan stopped, looked at me and laughed and went back to making out with sarah and I put my hands over my eyes and sighed.

I walked downstairs, close and locked the door, I sat on my sofa and couldn’t help but cry. It was weird.

It feels weird now.. Just Sarah and Ryan being together now.

I wanted to break down, I didn’t want them to hate me at all, I wanted them to be happy.

I washed my face with an old cloth and walked back upstairs, and they were gone.. Went up stairs and I grabbed my vest and walked outside.

I saw Kait walking down the street with her boyfriend, she waved and kept walking, I didn’t bother waving back.

Everyone had someone in there life..

Kyle had Jiro..

Kait had her weird bf.

Ryan and Sarah..

I was alone now..

I walked down the street to a small fight that was going on.

I walked and sped up, started to run and then jumped into the air and with tears streaming down my face I punched one of the fighters, It was a gang thing going on. I couldn’t care less..

I landed on the guy I punched, got up and uppercut another.

I got up and smiled.

“this the best you got?” I said with a small smile.

I still had tears going down. But it made it all the sweeter as I watched people run at me, I closed my eyes and when I opened them I put my hands on the ground and span, hitting some of them with my feet and launched my self into the air.

I didn’t got up that far, but far enough to recover and land on the ground on my feet. I smiled and laughed. I was enjoying this.

I watched the others run and I walked home with a smile on my face and sighed.

When I got home I heard moaning upstairs and I clenched my fists.

“Again!” I sighed. I sighed and walked outside and sat on the ground. I laid down and closed my eyes and went deep in thought.

I was alone now.. No one cared at all.. I was crying.. I didn’t want to.. But all my friends were drifting away from me.. I sent myself to sleep while I was crying.

--Dream—

I woke up, the grass was now dirt and I got up and looked at the house, It was burnt and I.. I didn’t know what to do. I ran inside looking for people.

“Ryan!? Sarah!?” I yelled with no answer.

I looked all around the house. I looked in the spare room and saw… a baby bed?

I shook my head and ran all around the house as best as I could and the place was just.. too hot I couldn’t get through this.

I tried to go to the basement and the place was all on fire.. What happened?

I ran out the house and it just fell on its self.

I looked at the house and looked around.

No one.. No one was around. It was foggy and I ran down the street.

I kept running around, watching people come up from the ground, red and glowing eyes as I kept running. I didn’t stop.. I wasn’t going to stop.

I heard “save us..” Over and over.. I held my head, dropped to my eyes, something was screeching in my ear, in my brain, I screamed and dropped to my knees.

I screamed “shut up! Just shut up!”

I laid on the ground, my body was disrupted, I had no movement, I watched the “Soldiers” or Zombies.. Or what ever, get closer and closed my eyes as I heard the screams get louder and louder, my ears rang harder than anything.

I just.. I wanted to go home..

I wanted to be with my family..

I wanted my friends.,.

I want everything to go back to how it was..

--real—

I woke up and sat up holding my head. Looking around at everything.

I looked at my cell, no messages.. nothing. I sighed and started to cry, this week was supposed to be a good week.. My birthday was may 11th.. Today is the 10th..

I wanted to cry, to be with people, but everyone was busy.

Would they forget my birthday?

Chapter 7

Well.. It was my birthday.. I walked upstairs and saw that everyone was gone..

The fuck?

I ran around the house trying to find people.

It was weird, where was everyone, I sat on the large sofa in the living room, the noises in the room were gone.

I turned the tv on and I watched the Maury show.. It was a good show, I loved watching what people did.

I saw a note beside me saying that Sarah and Ryan went out with the others since I’m still ‘injured’.

I went outside and sat on the ground with my legs crossed and I started to meditate.

The dream.. What did it mean?

In my mind I felt safe.. kinda.. It would be a lie to say I was.

I wasn’t safe.

In my head there is me.. and emptiness.

I felt small in this place.. in my head where my thoughts built up. I wanted to be alone, but I needed some one to talk to..

Sounds stupid eh?

I opened my eyes and got up after spending some time thinking.. no one would listen to me, I screamed as loud as I could.

“How could you guys forget!” I dropped to my knees. I shook my head and walked back inside, I heard the front door open as I walked in, It was Sarah and Ryan holding hands looking at each other, I wanted to be alone.

I watched them go upstairs and I went into the kitchen and started to drink. I grabbed some Dr pepper.. I needed something to drink and we got a lot.

My parents dropped by yesterday before I went to bed with it.

I sat on the couch and watched tv.. nothing was on at this time. I was going to be alone.. for good.

I laid down and started to drink again.

Sarah and Ryan spent the day upstairs and I was in the living room, I saw Kyle, Jiro, Kait and Kaits bf all walk in and look at me.

I got up and they were all looking for Ryan..

“Where’s Ryan?” Kyle asked.

“Upstairs..” I said with a low voice and walked downstairs and closed the door behind me and sat on my sofa.

I turned on my tv and watched the movie I had it.. Clue.. It was a good movie.. Murder mystery. I watched it.. I fell asleep and woke up a few hours later after taking a nap. I opened my eyes and sat up holding my head.

I looked on the floor and saw Ryan and Sarah sitting patiently waiting for me to wake up.

“Nice to see you’re awake Trent.” Sarah said with a bright smile on her face.

Ryan had a smile.

“We have something for you to see Trent.” Ryan waved and they both left.

I got up and looked to the door. I walked towards the door and walked up to the main floor, everyone was hiding, I could tell since the hairs on my neck were up and I could feel it. I looked around and scratched my head.

“Ryan?” I looked around and thought back abit.

--Flash back—

“Trent, one day.. Ill get you something so awesome that you will love it.” Ryan said to me.

Ryan and I were close, he was the brother I never had.

“What will it be?” I was about 13 at the time.

“You need to wait and see.” He said and walked off.

He left me alone then. I was alone in my room, no one around but the sound of my own excitement to fill the air.

-real-

I looked around and watched everyone get up and yell..

“Surprise!”

I fell on my ass and started to laugh.. It was kinda funny.. everyone got together to do this.

I smiled and laughed.

I got up and we had a great day.. Cake.. Movies.. Presents..

Ryan left and waved for me to follow and I ran out and followed him and he took out a sword from his car. It was a slime sword, almost like from the ninja movies and such. It was cool.

“Ryan? Are you..” I said, he handed it and I grabbed it.

“Happy birthday Trent-o.”

I looked at the sword and it had carvings on it.

It had the names of the people in the group.. Ryan.. Kyle, Jiro, Kait and Sarah.. It was the people I loved.

Something didn’t feel right here..

I walked back inside and yawned a bit and my head started to get all fuzzy.. I heard the ringing sound and dropped to my knees.

“What’s going on?” I said.. Ryan was standing and when I got up and shook my head and heard him talking.

“Trent, What happened?” He asked.

“I don’t know..”

Was that a dream?... Or was that.. something that was happening.

“Come one, lets go inside and have a great birthday.” He said with a smile.

I trusted Ryan, his present.. Was just.. amazing.

I held it in my hands and admired everything, I quickly ran downstairs and put the sword in my closet to keep it safe..

They didn't forget. That was the best present ever.
