Kay so this is basically a trial run of an older item system, if anyone feels like they'd like to try it out post a reply in this thread with material purchases, will also take into consideration item fusions for material prices. Keep in mind more expensive materials will result in both more restraints and more growth.

I don't like it, I feel that the items as they are give enough bonus'. If these items continue we'll be seeing some (not all) members who have enormous amounts of money not exploiting the system but making it near impossible to compete against. Just my two cents, take it or leave it.

Aye I understand as much; my reasoning behind this is as follows; 1). In all honesty I do appreciate this system for its advancements - The Hindering/Growth effect on the items during early levels; It shows its own applicable form of growth through the use of the item as my good friend Mikey has said through multiple explanations. If you have a sword as an item, you're not going to instantly know how to use it, therefore you grow through using it and expanding yourself through your natural abilities and then eventually it pays off (Note that the up's are based off of base statistics).
- The system itself has holes, though to most this is a flaw I see it as a means for creative growth.
- Its not instant gratification; Personally I hate it when someone buys an item off the bat and they're instantly boosted it vexes me. If you're playing a character naturally a way to measure that growth they go through is potentially by using this.
2). If no one's noticed, the site is potentially dying, think of this as my parting gift. I'm resigning as Admin, Jiro is now standing Admin I'm still holding onto my powers to follow through with a few things and clean up any potential troubles. The items themselves won't transfer to 552 based on their current transfer system but 259 is accepting as such and as a favor to Mikey's future plans I figured this stimulus to the item system would spark a bit of mixtures. If anyone wants to prove me otherwise, start posting. As an alternative I'm open for suggestions. But as far as I'm concerned the current item system was too easily abused (my fault for not taking things into consideration)

This isn't World of Warcraft, nor is this a fantasy board, it's a xin board and I'm not sure if it was somewhere along the line when Qi was exploited. But now we're a bunch of DBZ/Naruto/Bleach/ any other anime series.
As you said before it annoyed you that someone with a lot of money could just instantly be upgraded to god like abilities.
Yeah sure okay, but the only way a new member on this site was able to gain such godly stats was through transfer. Which meant more or less those RP'ers earned their items.
This system just like #259's and I thought that to be ridiculous. INn conjunction with QI system this added items will allow for players to have stats in the 1000's and I will kill myself if that happens.

now you're simply over-exaggerating. If you have such a problem with it don't participate. Simple. Like I said earlier Chances are there won't be more than one of these made. Besides 259's escalation wasn't due to these items alone; it was due to the combination of this matched with the Int rule. Check you're information before you make random accusations. I will kill myself if that happens. Seriously dude? Its Rp...

The int rule lol, don't get me started.
With or without the int rule, people on #259 and by extension now on #774 would still have ridiculous stats. The only thing different between #774 and #259 in terms of item stats was we didn't have these crazy 10 level mega-god items. Which was a both wise and logical choice, I am merely expressing my opinion that bringing in these type of items will not serve to better the majority of the board.
Obviously I won't kill myself it was more there for the added effect >.>
However if the type of items stick within specific boundaries and there are strictly no stat multipliers. I see no logical reason why they can't be added to the game.

There you go again with the "game", its a game mentality which is just the reason why its become just like this you do understand that Jack right?
Let me lay this out for you. Right now under the current system your stats are beginning to boarder the 70's. Now Jayr who is replacing 2 of her items with a revamped version will be dropping her stats to 20's and lower. You get instant gratification while in order to ascend further she has to work to achieve a higher standard. So in order to get into the positives she needs a total of some 35 base statistics. Therefore she needs upwards of not only 10 fights but some 20 threads in itself. Whereas gathering money takes only about 1 monthly event and perhaps a few threads here and there for an item of your caliber. So tell me which is more beneficial to a site's growth? The item self gratification that instantly heighten's stats to a high level with limited posting, or the alternative which enforces a need to post moire and more in order to grow, that builds character detail, and that is a growth process.
The reasoning for these "level 10" super items was brought on by a gamer's mentality. Because people can't handle getting out stated which is stupid and childish. So enough with the gamer's mentality and enjoy a character for what they are. Stop Stat whoring and worry more about the group as a whole.
