It doesn't make sense
Jayr hadn't been at this school long enough to understand the gravity of the position that'd been thrust in her lap nor did she understand the reasoning behind it. A twitch and scare of the little things that she'd heard and knowing all too well what a tough chick Kevala had been. But of all things why her? Jayr would stare in the mirror of the girls' restroom hyperventilating slightly from the pressure as she reread the letter for the eighth time making note to understand the point of it.
"Uhgh.." Peeling around quickly Jayr would throw up in a stall making it as quiet as possible not to draw attention. Not exactly the finer things to come out of a lady's mouth but she had to deal with it one way and for whatever reason crying wasn't one of them. Kevala's face implanted in her mind that last day they'd spoken, an immobile face showing no tears. God what'd she gotten herself into.
Breathing quickly Jayr would wash her mouth out with water before pulling a toothbrush from her purse and rinsing thoroughly making a note to get a new toothbrush after today was over. Another couple of deep slow breaths and Jayr would try coming to terms with her new found reality. Student Captain was a big deal, though it gave her just what she needed, an ambition and a way to do as she saw just about this school.
But there were always stallings. As Jayr left the restroom she drew nervous stares, apparently the word was already out, no use hiding this away until the grace period was over. Shame that was really. A sigh and Jayr would walk on being stopped by a man head to toe in studded clothes looking like a greaser.
"So I heard you were the new captain..." He'd state in a voice heavily laded with booze, a hand caressing her cheek and Jayr would quickly turn her head away before the grip would come up again snapping at her chin to direct her line of sight. "Don't touch me!"
A jam of her foot crushing his quickly bringing her kneecap up into his groin simultaneously pulling his head forward over heels and throwing him over her shoulder all with his own forward pained leverage. In her world Strength meant little, leverage however was a powerful tool. Thinking quickly she understood what had to be done.
"Alright, It seems as though I'm the new School Captain, I'll be taking applications for my pillar positions in the Gym today at 3:00."
With a tough little huff her hair would bounce over an eye giving her a dark persona something she'd seen some chicks in movies do that made them bad-ass. Guess it was a trend to follow the person prior, if she knew one thing it was that Jayr needed to double the accomplishments of her predecessor before she'd ever be acknowledged.
With long strides the dark clothed Jayr would make her way to the gym with a benevolent plan in mind, her large heels making her a good head taller than most of the boys who lined their way before the gym, apparently word spread fast.
"Get me a table....and a chair."
Commanding already she'd beckon the first group to grab her such. As she entered the large gym Jayr would sit along her council table leaving it empty before she opened the doorways admitting the tryouts to begin.

Word certainly did travel fast it seemed. So fast, that Jasper was part of the first group that was lined up outside the gym doors, he was first in fact, as he leaned up against the wall, his arms lightly folded across his chest. He could hear whispering from somewhere to his right, he wasn't an idiot, he knew what the guys that lined up after him were discussing, they were probably asking why was the last Student Body President lining up for tryouts for the Pillar position. Probably thought he should bow out and let others have a turn at it. Though honestly, applying for the Student Body President title wasn't quite why he was here, he was here mainly as moral support for Jayr. She had been handed the School Captain title without much warning after all.
Giving Jayr a small comforting smile as she walked past him, he pushed off against the wall he had been leaning against, he grabbed a table and placed it down as instructed, before resuming his spot against the wall. He was just as surprised to learn about Kevala passing the title on, he thought he would've been canned before that would ever happen, especially after what he had done recently. But if he had been canned, he had hoped Kevala would've chosen someone who was deserving of the title. Even now, if he wasn't chosen to be a Pillar by Jayr, if someone that earned the right and knew what to do got it, he'd be perfectly fine with it. With no Varsity Captain, Jasper had been balancing duties for both titles up until now.

(ooc: why not...) Donovan walked around and he had heard knews about Jayr's shiny new title. Donnie was never one for authority... after all he was wrongly accused for beating his own sister and his attack on his father was explained and believed to be attacking and not defense for him and Olivia. Had they not arrested them... He would have been with Livi and she may not have killed herself... that and he still didn't like how they had arrested Alexis a few times and sent her away... although that was more justified due to the fact she was actually a criminal. But... What the heck? Jayr was nice to look at and talk to. He strolled into the Gym standing tall and confident in his relaxed outfit knowing full well his disorder would be at bay, because he was convincing his sister to get him some pills... He wasn't wearing any makeup and he would have to admit it didn't make his pale green eyes pop as much as they would if he had eyeliner on... that and he had no product in his hair... yup.. he looked rather normal walking in as he stroked at the patch of hair on his chin. He would smile towards Jayr giving her a wink. "Fret not I'm here." his accent would ring in a chirpy tune. |

Sweating it now.
Jayr had a lump in her throat at this point, her eyes leveled to the ground as she walked in her head held high if only briefly, though her chin was lowered with something of a concerned expression. What could be crossing through her head at this point, there was mainly the fear that she'd become some larger kid's punching bag by the end of the day. Mind turning to people she'd met if only briefly in the past. Kale, Jack, Kevala even; all of them seemed to have the only thought on their mind enshrouded by the ideal of violence being the answer.
"Fret not I'm here."
Her eyes would turn up towards Donnie, and would you know it Jasper as well. Somewhat in the backdrop of things she'd acknowledge both, Jasper being far more brief and unsocial towards not out of spite but more because Donnie's ego probably wouldn't handle it entirely. "Hey." She'd perk up in an excited tone walking over to briefly hug Donnie around the waist before turning back again ushering for him to follow along and towards Jasper as well assuming he'd catch on. "So what brings you here?"
Funny thing was the boy didn't strike her as the type to be out for a position of authority unless that meant getting his rocks off to a power trip. A small grin reverting back to Kazuya who was nowhere to be found. Yeah some people could not manage such positions well.
She'd stop at the entrance to the gym and turn around, "This is where I have to get mean, don't take things too bad." She'd smile with a taunting manner before swaying her hips with great focus and turn about flaunting her swaying motion until she'd reach the edge of the table.
"Okay so you're all here for a title? Then I'm going to put you through a bit of tests to see if you're up to what it means to be a Pillar." Her voice turning cold and yet heated in the same instant. She was passionate about what she was doing in fact it meant a lot to her that she did this now, even if that was too soon.
"A pillar, what does that mean to you? To me there are four of us, for corners to a square, the square is our foundation something that holds this school up. Though vanity shouldn't be our greatest sin if anything at all it should be pride, pride not in ourselves but rather pride in our school."
Jayr could feel the heat in her cheeks and brow light her up, despite being a cheerleader she'd never been in a position like this, and the fear instilled a sort of hunger that pressed her forward to continue.
"Those of you today will demonstrate to me your strength, your valor, and much more." Her eyes would turn to Jasper, "I want you to understand that it is not obedience but rather loyalty that will make us great."
"Now you....strike me!" Pointing towards Jasper.
Cheeks flushed Jayr was a bit afraid, but this was a test, test of loyalty and obedience. Also a test of their strength, she wanted to understand how these boy's who had stepped up both fought and where there strengths relied. That way she could understand where she fit. Who was to be an enemy and who was to be a friend. A conscious mind measuring the weight of fear vs. logetivity, and sacrifices were to be made.

Jasper had a sympathetic look in his eyes as he saw Jayr walk in, although her head was held high, it was only briefly as her chin lowered, a concerned expression on her face. A familiar voice spoke out as Mr. Sunshine himself strolled into the gym all tall and confident, as he saw Jayr walk over to the guy and hug him around the waist, though Jasper wasn't miffed about it, he didn't really care, to be honest. Jayr ushering at him to follow her caught his attention, as he pushed off the wall and followed along after her and the other guy, as she stopped at the entrance to the gym and turn around. "Just do what you have to do." He replied, casually shrugging his shoulders as she smiled in a taunting manner before swaying her hips and turn about flaunting it until she reached the edge of the table. His arms folded lightly across his chest, Jasper was unfazed as Jayr's voice turned cold yet heated at the same time, the girl was passionate, that's how she was, if people didn't like it, then too bad, they were free to leave.
He saw her eyes turn to him as she continued to speak, and he knew why, when he had been the Student Body President under Kevala's reign, she had one strict rule, and that was obey and follow her commands... and only her commands. But those days were over and done with. Unfazed as Jayr pointed at him, Jasper saw her cheeks flush as he stayed silent, instead simply shoving his hands into his jeans pockets, and without any warning or indication, quickly darted straight for Jayr, just before reaching her, he jumped up into the air and placed all his power into his right leg as he whipped it around in a roundhouse kick, aiming to kick her in the side of her arm and send her off to the side and off balance. If it connected, he wouldn't waste any time and would bound forward during the period of recovery and launch a front heel kick, it was her move now.

As Jayr welcomed him with a hug he would hug her back and smile up at the boy giving him a wink. Boys tended to do that. Whether they knew the girl or not it was always cool if you could get a hug from one of the hottest chicks in the school.
They then were told to follow as he did so..keeping close to her.. but not touching her as to come off needy...just enough to show he was interested. He smiled at the warning she gave. It didn't frighten him... He was sure she couldn't be as cold hearted as his mother so...I If he was able to live with that for a majority of his life he was sure he could handle a teenage girl. And besides....
The way she took control with the sudden change of edge in her voice was very sexy.
They were now stopped.. Donnie took his place beside her as she then gave her next orders.
"Now you....strike me!"
OH HELLZ NAW!
He would glare over at Jasper. He better not even think about it.
Pet peeve; attacking girls.
Whether they asked for it
or
even if they were capable of sticking up for themselves.
It was just not Donnie's cup of tea... growing up to see his sisters getting beat can really do that to one's mind. So... he watched as the boy ran and jumped in the air.
Damn straights he would intervene...whether it meant getting his ass kicked or not... he wasn't going to let that happen. So he would throw his arm out and grab tight to the guy's shin and would pull his arm up so he would lift his leg and would let gravity do its thing..hopefully getting the tool on his back.
If this all happened he would step back not wanting to fight anymore than he had to.. he was just content in stopping it. He would then look over at Jayr and give a small shrug with apologetic eyes.

The Underdog Strikes
Jayr didn't have time to see any apologetic glances, and even if she had they'd be quick to add more fervor to her attacks as she stepped up into the fray, with Jasper at front leading with a roundhouse kick. Powerful as they were even she knew how stupid it was to lead with one, girl yes but far from inexperienced. Stepping up with her hands braced to catch it she'd be ready until Donnie would lurch out, part two of the test. Obedience, Loyalty. What next? She was curious but not enough to hesitate.
Shifting quickly she'd drop to her forward knee which happened to be her right one leading the way with her fist. With Donnie's attention on Jasper to start he'd not catch a sliding kick as that right foot would skate across the ground sweeping his legs out from beneath him, however not interrupting his first strike against Jasper.
With his attack on Jasper to succeed or fail the attack would at least shift attention between the two and with her height where it was far below eye level she had the opportunity to use that sleuth to herself. Back now aimed at Jasper she'd be under his leg and would push upwards at it adding to the force of Donnie's pull leveling him on his ass/head/back area.
Following through her encompassing slide she'd roll about the 360 degrees and come to a stand her hands protectively working in a boxer's stance before her. The fluid rush of blood in her cheeks and she was smiling, sweating, and still full of energy.

Jasper smirked friendly back at Donovan in return to the smile and wink he gave Jasper as they followed after Jayr, stopping in front of the entrance to the gym as the guy stood beside Jayr, but again, Jasper wasn't miffed by it. He saw Donovan glare over at him after Jayr ordered Jasper to strike, but Jasper didn't know the guy, and besides, when has anyone ever listened to someone they didn't know? Dashing straight at Jayr, he leaped up into the air and swung his leg around, immediately noticing the guy throw his arm out to intercept Jasper's strike and grabbed Jasper's shin tightly and lifted Jasper up, as he noticed from the corner of his left eye that Jayr was no longer beside Donovan, only to feel his shin being released as Donovan was sent falling. He then felt his leg being pushed up from underneath, raising his leg up to a higher angle and sending him falling backwards, as he landed on his back with a loud crack, rolling from the impact.
Painfully sitting up, his hands amazingly still in his pockets, he saw Jayr roll about 360 degrees and come to a stand with her hands protectively in front worked in a boxer's stance, a smile on her face. Climbing to his feet, he glared at both her and Donovan with the full intensity of his hawk eyes, though not out of spite, this was more because he was having fun with the fight, as evident by the smile on his face. His focus shifting back and forth between Jayr and Donovan, Jasper refused to attack Donovan when he was down, there was no honor in taking cheap shots at his opponent when they were down. If there was one thing that Jasper hated, it was fighting dishonorably and resorting to taking cheap shots at an opponent. He hated it when someone did it to him or did it to someone else, it would make him a hypocrite if he did it himself. Adrenaline coursing through his veins, he simply stood in a sideways stance, continuing to keep his hands in his pockets.

Donovan had him in his grasp... and as he went to shove him off his feet.... well... lets just say karma is a bitch 'cause he was now swept off his feet. At first he assumed it was Jasper...only 'cause he almost didn't expect Jayr to be able to take him down.... but of course he knew better due to the fact Jasper was a little too tied up to take him down.
Donnie looked over to see Jasper topple over as his eyes glided to where Jayr had been standing... which was close... her foot inches from his head. He looked over to Jasper who was still getting up and now.. both stood... no moving.
With a little grunt Donnie pulled himself up the heels of his feet planted to the ground as his legs were somewhat spread and bent up... all so his knees could prop up his arms as he looked back and forth to each person. It was like he was waiting.... actually... he was waiting. Yeah.. Jayr took him down like a lumberjack would take down a tree... but it still didn't mean he was going to strike her let alone let some other guy do so. The only people allowed fighting her are girls... and he wouldn't mind seeing that himself.
"G'day out ain't it?"
He looked at them back and forth with a large grin on his face. He seemed to relaxed at a time like this.... but that was just because of his meds. If he wasn't high off of the medication he would actually probably lose his shit and fight. Donnie isn't one to degrade himself and fight when not needed.. so if he did snap and do that... he would feel like a hypocrite.

Old habits are had changed.
Jayr would be back on the defensive giving the boy's ample time to lash out and strike but she could already see that things were hard to beat out of them, their old habits no doubt unchanged. For one she would only briefly acknowledge Donnie's statement as being a sign of arrogance and slightly peeved by his slow approach to regain his stature. Not to mention Jasper himself fighting with his hands still in his pockets. Arrogance, it was the weakness of these two men and she'd show them just how bad they'd have it.
"I will not accept Arrogance!"
Jayr would turn on her heel leaning down and to the side as to put a bit of distance between her and the boy's as the leg of the table was in her grasp. Dragging it up into an aerial toss she'd pull the thing across Jasper's entire body first and then into Donnie so that both would topple atop one another. The table itself was fairly massive width wise, and with the limited distance between them there was little to no room to maneuver. Each of them would have to have been half their size, and twice the speed. And while Jayr wasn't exactly faster than them she sported her own kind of speed mixed with choosing her battles.

As soon as Donovan sat up, Jasper geared up once more, focusing sharply on the both of them, he wasn't going to allow either of them a free shot on him. He barely even heard what Donovan said, as he closed his eyes and began to breath and focus, breathing to calm himself down and bring his concentration back up, thereby increasing his focus. His eyes shot open as he heard Jayr shout before turning on her heel and lean down, grabbing the leg of the table, his eyes flaring as she tossed it straight at him and Donovan. Dodge it? Who ever said he was going to dodge? Jasper simply lifted his right leg up and kicked the table back in the direction it came from, as he lowered his right leg back down, placing his foot onto the floor. Arrogance... Everyone was arrogant in some way, even if they didn't realize it themselves. Lifting his head up, Jasper locked eyes with Jayr, his blue hawk eyes glaring straight into her cerulean eyes. He then knew what he had to do. Pulling his hands out of his pockets, Jasper rolled his shoulders as his arms were held loosely by his sides, loosening his arm muscles up.
"I'll tell you straight up Jayr, I'm not going to go easy on you just because you're a girl. I'm going to fight you with everything I've got." Then, without any warning or indication, Jasper would shoot off like a bullet, dashing straight at Jayr. Once he was close enough, he would pull his right arm back and launch a simple right jab, aiming for Jayr's cheek, while his left hand was kept close, ready to react in case he needed to counter or defend. With Donovan sitting on the floor, it would take him a bit of time to react and get back up on his feet, let alone try to stop Jasper's strike. It didn't matter to Jasper if his opponent was a girl or not, he treated all of his opponents with the amount of respect they deserved. He was going to give this fight everything he had, regardless of if Donovan teamed up with Jayr to take him down, he would fight until he could no longer fight.

Arrogance is that so?
Before he could say anything in return he had seen the chair get chucked at them... So as fast as he could he would drop back once again in another laying position. When he fell to the ground his head turned to the boy whom had stopped the chair with his foot.
"I'll tell you straight up Jayr, I'm not going to go easy on you just because you're a girl. I'm going to fight you with everything I've got."
Anger flaring once more he had heard those words and saw Jasper running towards Jayr. Donnie had no time of course to get up and prevent it though and as he got up he didn't see whether he had actually struck her or not.. but he did run after him and would come up from behind and would raise his leg and then slam it down.. stomping to the back of Jasper's knee hopefully bending it thus far getting him to a kneeling point.. then he would wrap his arms around his neck in a choke hold.. he would also press his front to his back so there was no chance of getting an elbow to the balls. He wouldn't hold it tight enough to make him pass out..just enough to refrain him.
"Arrogance you might think it is... But I like to look at my actions as a form of morality. I well never hit a woman. Though.. I guess you can call me arrogant... Arrogant because I think I am better than the fools that think they can treat a girl like that." he would let go of Jasper then and would stand straight looking over at Jayr. "And what is loyalty when you fight against the one you are most loyal to? Oh... and no offense." he would say the last statement towards Jasper for calling down someone who would fight a girl. "I'm sorry if you will not have my attitude. I just can't stand seeing a bruise across a female face when inflicted by a male. I've seen enough with my sister's between them and my father." he wouldn't hold back on telling the truth... He was a Green and therefore completely straight forward.
I don't mind telling them... Olivia (rest in peace) and Alexis were now safe from our father's grasp... he was dead.
Donnie would then turn towards the door and head out.

Physics.
As Jayr would bring the table around like a bat the thing would shatter upon impact sending the shards apart everywhere leaving her but with the leg of the table to use as a bat, in its own way still being a deadly weapon if used correctly.
"I'll tell you straight up Jayr, I'm not going to go easy on you just because you're a girl. I'm going to fight you with everything I've got."
Jayr could see him approaching with a charging force rampant upon beating her down. But with all the creativity she'd been expecting she was lost in the lackluster of a spralling right jab at her face. Feeling the short concussion she'd roll back and away from the punch delving her hands to rap around the shaft of the weapon and uppercut the thing across Jasper's face roughly.
Stepping back Jayr would grow hoping that at this point Donnie had pinned Jasper, seeing as if he had or not she'd take a second to wind herself and catch up. A palm crossing her lips to soften the bump from the punch forming and she'd feel the numbing pain that throbbed with it. Humerous.
"Arrogance you might think it is... But I like to look at my actions as a form of morality. I well never hit a woman. Though.. I guess you can call me arrogant... Arrogant because I think I am better than the fools that think they can treat a girl like that."
Jayr would step back again letting her body sag briefly dropping the weapon clasped in her hands to the ground coming about it with a noisy little click. A deep soothing breath as she collected herself.
"It doesn't make a bit of difference if I'm a girl or not, right now I'm your foe!"
"And what is loyalty when you fight against the one you are most loyal to? Oh... and no offense. I'm sorry if you will not have my attitude. I just can't stand seeing a bruise across a female face when inflicted by a male. I've seen enough with my sister's between them and my father."
Guilt, unwavering elongated guilt and she could see that it was now on her features with a sad little expression watching Donnie leave her hand would extend too short to reach out to him before she'd restrict the movement pulling it back towards her chest pinning it there with her other hand as well. She had hurt him and unintentionally so, it made such a difference when you were the one behind the controls.
"I'm sorry, training is over." She'd say in a low voice to Jasper before leading off in a short jog towards teh direction Donnie had escaped catching up to him quickly and grabbing his hand with hers in a brief moment.
"Donnie.... I.."
She was so afraid to say I'm sorry.

His kick shattering the table upon impact, Jasper whipped his sunglasses down, protecting his eyes from the shards that flew everywhere, leaving Jayr clutching nothing but the leg of the table that could be improvised and used as a bat. Charging straight at her without a second thought, his fist connected with her cheek, causing her to roll back and away from him and swing the leg of the table straight up at him, as his right arm swung out and down, blocking her strike, though he hadn't forgotten about Donovan either. His eyes shifting to look behind him, he could not dodge Donovan's kick in time, instead he simply shifted his body in Donovan's direction, instead of colliding with the back of his knee, Donovan's foot would strike the side of Jasper's thigh, as he winced slightly from it. He then lashed out with his elbow aiming at Donovan's stomach just as Donovan wrapped his arms around Jasper's neck in a tight enough grip to refrain him, but not tight enough to make him pass out, as he saw Jayr step back and rub the spot where his punch had connected. If his strike connected, his elbow would be jammed straight up against Donovan's stomach, he respected Donovan's opinion, however different it was from his own when it came to squaring off against a female opponent.
He then felt himself being released from Donovan's grip as he straightened up, rolling his shoulders as he saw Donovan stand and look straight at Jayr, who stepped back again at his words, her body sagging briefly as she dropped the table leg she had been clutching, as it landed on the floor with a loud clack. Jasper could tell no matter what was said, Donovan would not change his morals just because someone didn't agree with them. "I'm sorry if you will not have my attitude. I just can't stand seeing a bruise across a female face when inflicted by a male. I've seen enough with my sisters between them and my father." ... Am I suppose to feel bad...? I get that your father hurt your sisters and... "... I respect your opinion..." But don't think I'm going to feel bad for fighting against Jayr just because your father hit your sisters. I've seen and experienced fights more violent than a father simply taking out his anger on his kids... As Donovan left, Jasper saw from the corner of his eye Jayr begin to reach out to Donovan's retreating back, only to pull her hand back seconds later.
As he saw Jayr chase after Donovan, Jasper began to chuckle softly, the sound of the door closing drowning his chuckles out. As terrible as it was, he couldn't help but find it funny, because his own life had been just as tragic, if not more. At least you have people that, whether you get along with them or not, care about you, however little it may be. I have no one... Swiftly turning, his jacket swishing slightly as he did so, Jasper headed towards the other entrance to the gym, his hands in his pockets. Family... a home... those things were of no concern to him.

Donnie felt a small hand tug at his as he turned around.
"Donnie.... I.."
Woops. He wasn't looking for a pitty party he was just giving his reasons as to why he wouldn't fight a girl. That and now he felt bad for unintentionally making Jayr feel bad.
Donnie would just smile down at her and do that whole cliched finger to the mouth deal to make her hush. "Shh.. Don't have to say it. You didn't know... and you and I both know that Olivia is in a better place." his smile would warm giving her arm a tug so she would be closer to him..their bodies pressing up against each other. "My dad is dead and my mom is in jail and you had nothing to do with how they were." He would give her a big hug, slightly lifting her off the ground.
Donovan would laugh a bit releasing Jayr. "Now what we really should be sorry for was that meeting. Sorry I came in... I was bored and thought I would pay my favourite lady a nice little visit." He would let out a sigh before speaking again. "Now how about we get some ice cream." he would give a wink..then his facial features would flinch slightly as he looked it her. It was in a joking matter, but he still placed the back of his thumb under her chin to lift her face to the side a bit. "And maybe some ice for that shiner you got goin' on there."
